Over all the grounds were beautiful and the workers were all very kind and enjoyable to be around. The meals were average. The beach was a little dirty- had to walk 20 mins to nice beach. wifi didn’t work AT ALL.

Great resort
The hotel was a very good size and everything was in good proximity. The buffet was also a very good size. Sometimes service was on the slow side but overall good. The pool was a good size and the bar in the pool was a lot of fun!
We travelled as a family and we all got sick at this resort. Even ending up in the hospital. The staff at reception were helpful and friendly but the bartenders were not. The vendors and staff were cat calling my daugthers. Left us feeling unsafe. The pool was disgusting. A la care restaurants were really good.

Resort was OKAY
The hotel overall was just okay. We were fortunate enough to have been upgraded to VIP which is the main reason that I would rate this as OK. The main/central pool is FILTHY, luckily we had the VIP pool to use aswell but our group is very social and enjoy the main pool to meet people. The VIP pool and beach areas are very quiet. Also, because we were VIP we thankfully were able to go to 6 a la carte restaurants and to the buffet once. The a la cartes were descent but the main buffet was your ty[... read more]pical rat race. The staff that look after the VIP personnel were FANTASTIC, we were whisked away as soon as we stepped foot on the resort. The resort was clean, staff were friendly.
All in all the only way I would recommend this resort to anyone else would be if they upgraded to VIP. Main complaint was the dirty dirty pool and main buffet and the a la cartes were ok.

Good
Be Live I think is a little like a hidden gem. Upgrading to VIP is essential...they treat you like royalty. Service was great at the bars, service at the restaurants could have been better. The time share salesmen are a bit much but we just kept saying “no thank youâ€. The Mediterranean restaurant was great as well as the Mexican. The steakhouse was not good....I think being Canadian we get used to AAA beef. The pools are beautiful. The beach was not the nicest but a short walk up the [... read more]coast and the beach was amazing. The rooms are beautiful....especially the Adult Master Suite...doubles sinks, jet tub, huge walk in shower....really nice. Room service was exceptional.

Very Disappointed
Wasn’t a good start as we were supposed to leave Toronto at 6am. While seating in the plane waiting for take off, the smoke alarm in the bathroom kept going off. Finally they asked us to leave the plane as they would put us on another flight in 4 hours😡. They gave us a $20 food voucher which is nice, but we already took our breakfast on the plane and ate. 4 hours later off we go. Air Canada also gave an offer to receive 25% off our next Air Canada Vacstion. We have to use a promo code when[... read more] we go online to receive the offer. We landed, got to our hotel and got our room key and went up to the room. As I put the room key in the door somebody on the other side opened the door and the room had already been occupied. Good thing the lady was nice! The bellboy went downstairs, so we had to stay in the hallway for another 15 minutes as it was getting later and when he returned he gave us a key to another room at the far end of the building block 16. We went into that room and it was not a Superior Deluxe room like I paid for. The toilet also did not flush and there was no lock on the sliding door. The shower was a glass stall in the middle of the room and the water from the shower leaked underneath and flooded the floors. There was no privacy at all. The toilet was in a corner also surrounded by a glass door. I called down to the the front desk to tell them my concerns and they assured me it would get fixed. They also told me they had no other rooms to put us in for the night. Came back to the room to find out it had not been fixed yet. So, I went down to the front desk and spoke to a supervisor and he informed me it would get fixed immediately as we went for dinner. After dinner we went back up to our room it was still not fixed. So I called down to the front desk again and got another lady on the phone and she assured me it will get fixed. It is now 10 PM and I’m exhausted. Finally, a maintenance guy and a security guard came up to the room and they were both fixed by 10:30 PM. Our room was at the farthest end of the resort and if you looked out our door it was the Main Street with lots of noise and partying all night. It was the noisiest place ever. Horns honking all night, dogs barking and every morning you could hear the trucks come in with supplies to the resort by 5:30am. Never had a good night sleep at all! There we’re no rooms across from us because we were at the end. When I booked the vacation, I specifically asked for VIP in which I did not get! The room I booked was also supposed to have a desk with a chair and I soaker tub which I needed for my shoulder. That is why I booked that room specifically. I paid $1900 for absolutely nothing. The next morning we went to the front desk to see if we could book some À la cart and they said everything was booked up until Friday. Friday night we booked an à la cart at Mylos. We were sitting near the kitchen as that’s where our table was and we ordered our salads first, my daughter got her salad and was almost done and the server came to remove her plate. I said where is my salad? She looked at me like I had two heads. She says, you ordered a salad? She finally brought me my salad, I ate that and then we got our first course meal. My daughter ordered ravioli and got five little squares. I ordered a lobster linguine and it had one chunk of lobster and about 12 noodles. What a disappointment for a high-end restaurant. As we sat there eating our meal since we were so close the kitchen we heard everybody in the kitchen yelling and screaming dropping plates on the floor it was the noisiest place ever. We left and ate at the buffet because we were still hungry. The next night we ate at the Lobster House which I thought we would get some lobster, well it was $20 a pound if you wanted lobster. Another disappointment. Anyway, we sat down to a very nice meal where we were greeted very nicely and they waited on us hand and foot. The meal was fantastic and everybody was so friendly and that was the first time we ever felt like we were worth something at that resort and that was our last night. Our room was cleaned once in 5 days! At 6pm I had to chase down a maid to get fresh towels. Rooms are to be cleaned everyday. Every morning we ate breakfast at the buffet and we had to seat ourselves. We could actually sit there for 20 minutes without anybody even coming over to ask us if we wanted a coffee or a T and we had our teabags sitting on the table and they just walked past us like we were nothing. I would get up and go get breakfast hoping somebody would acknowledge we were sitting there and bring us back a coffee cup, well that never happened. We had to ask two or three servers for a cup before anyone would finally bring us one. 15 min later. Again, we still tipped. You could really tell these people didn’t enjoy their jobs!
During the day they had a restaurant opened so we could walk in and get a hamburger, hot dogs, chicken wings, nachos, and ice cream etc. We went in there everyday and if we went in more that once we got a dirty look. I asked for 2 ice cream and he said, ‘didn’t you already get ice cream?’
Seriously, this is an all inclusive and if I want to go in there 20 times a day I should be entitled to it, shouldn’t I? That happened more than once. As we walked through the hallways and met up with the maids, everybody walk with their heads down nobody was friendly. We tipped graciously every time we got a drink and nobody ever said thank you or anything to us. I got better service at a three star resort then I did at this place. We went down to the beach and apparently since the resort was fully occupied there may have been 10 people in the ocean at once. The beach was absolutely disgusting and the water was full of crap.
Filthy, dirty, beach and water. Most of the beach chairs were broke. Too many people selling on the beach and they didn’t leave you alone. I don’t like being pestered when I’m on vacation. Wow, another disappointment. I have never has such shitty service in my whole life out of all the places I’ve been to. I have spent many times at a three star resort and have had the maids say hola every time they passed you and as you’re walking to breakfast and you see the gardeners out there, they would even speak to you. Never happened at The Be Live.
Majority of the people working there were very rude. As well as out of 100 people, 5 spoke English. Well, that’s my 2 cents
Sorry for ranting, but it’s all the truth. Never again will I go back to this resort or recommend it to anyone!

Great resort!
Well maintained, very clean hotel! We enjoyed most of our meals esp the seafoods. Honest and friendly staff. I lost my Iphone 7+ With my DL, credit card and some cash on our second day there and within 20 mins, a staff who found it (his name is William and he was the head of entertainment) returned everything. We would definitely go back again!

Needs upkeeping
The staff at the hotel were wonderful. The grounds are well manicured and they have alot of entertainment for guests. Food was great. However rooms are dated and in rough shape. Doors don't close or lock properly and are not of a high standard of clean. Beds were clean though so that was important. Hydro goes off at least once a day. Alot of sales people at all times. We had a great vacation and would go back. However disappointed in check in and the rooms.

Do Not Stay Here and Do Not Book Via AirCanada
Well, where to begin..
1. It took 2 hours to check in at reception when we arrived. The reception desk was an absolute disaster; no system, no lines, people scattered everywhere, staff did not know how to contain the throngs of people.
2. After we checked in we were told to come back in 20 minutes for a room. 20 minutes passed so we asked for the keys, we were told we had to wait another 25 minutes for the room. Long story short we arrived in our room 3.5 hours after check in and after asking[... read more] for a room upgrade for waiting around for so long - we did not get the upgrade despite being told by staff we would. It was pathetically handled by the staff, of course.
3. We arrived in our room and it seemed fine, good shower pressure, clean towels, it was fine. Less than what we expected but fine (Superior Deluxe Room). We slept in that room for a total of 2 nights of our seven day trip. On the first day we woke up with what we expected to be mosquito bites on our legs and our backs. We were due to meet our Air Canada Representative that day (Franklin, 'Frankie') but he did not show up and did not contact us to let us know he would not be there. I waited 40 minutes for him at the specified location. We guessed he would arrive the following day at the same time but we arrived a couple of minutes earlier to be certain. Meanwhile the bites on our bodies had gotten worse and were more plentiful at this point. He concluded that the bites were bed bug bites. I cried for an hour straight and then again a couple of times throughout the day. He then exclaimed, stupidly and incorrectly, that the Canadians and Americans bring the bed bugs to Dominican Republic and that he does not have them in his country. He took pictures of the bites to send to his 'Dr. Sister' and said he would call to us later that day to bring us some antihistamines/anti-allergics as they are cheaper in outside pharmacies. Lo and behold, he did not show up for the rest of the week - what a surprise. He feigned disgust and anger at the hotel and marched us to the reception desk whereby he asked the supervisor for our room to be changed immediately - Teresa was her name. She explained that we were to come back at 3:00pm and there would be a room (it was now 10:30am). I went to our disgusting old room and collected our cases and disposed of underwear, clothing and pajamas or anything that was near the bed. We were brought to our new room by a nice bell boy whom we tipped generously as he was lovely. The new room was a huge improvement and we were very grateful, however we should not have had to deal with the first room issue in the first place.
4. The food was great - surprisingly.
5. The staff were nice - we did not have any major issues
6. The beach is gorgeous
7. The pool is filthy and we did not see it being cleaned once in the week we were there.
8. Go to Saona Island - it is the best excursion by a mile
9. We booked Saona and Frankie called us the night before to try and tell us it had been cancelled due to bad weather. We were incredibly annoyed and made that clear to him. He called us back two minutes later to say it was back on. The whole situation was a bit odd and had we not have been angry at it being cancelled I doubt we would have been going on the trip.

Terrific Resort
We really enjoyed our vacation and look forward to going there again. The grounds were beautiful, the staff was helpful and friendly, the rooms were well cared for and the food was good. We were amazed there were so many pools available that one area never seemed crowded. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed the activities that were offered.

Lively resort
At first I was very worried when we got there. From the outside it looks less appealing like a compound with tall square white concrete, but once we got in it was more modern and less sketchy looking. The check in line was quiet long and our room wasn't ready, but we were able to walk around the resort and explore for a couple of hours before finally getting our room.
The buffet Food was 50/50. Sometimes it came out hot and others it was lukewarm which was not the end of the world. The lunc[... read more]h burger place was not the best but their mozzarella sticks, fruit dish and ice cream were good. Avoid the burger and salads since they aren't so good. Then the restaurants were lovely - for sure go to Mylos and the Steak place. I recommend avoiding the Japanese place which was less than favourable and we think caused my boyfriend to get sick but we can't be sure. But the food at the Japanese place was not very good.
The resort itself was nice and so were the staff, we noted need to brush up on our Spanish and French since this is quite the international resort with guests coming from all over the world. Lots and lots of opportunities to get involved with games. The beach was good, lots of shady spots if you happen to get too much sun on the first couple of days and need to hide your red skin. We went during seaweed season but we knew that going in and the staff tried hard to keep the shoreline clean. There's a gym which has the essential stuff and has a really fun vibe to it with flashy lights and fun music. Id give the resort a 3.5/5 stars.
A downfall for us was the fact so many people are trying to sell you things. It's almost ever minute someone selling you things but that's since the resort is public access so they can set up shop throughout the whole resort. The vendors were active in approaching you on the beach but once you said no the same person didn't bother you but you had to say no a lot since there were so many others asking- but that's a good thing if you want to buy excursions or trinkets. If you go on an excursion we recommend the dune buggies (boogies as they call them) it is fantastic!!! And pay for the photographer to follow you it is worth it!
For our room we were in block 3 on the first floor right closest to the main part of the whole resort which was fantastic for us. Found a couple cockroaches at night (2 on separate nights) but that is to be expected in tropical areas and was nothing we couldn't manage. Still a bit gross though. The room was a good size (we got the handicap room since it was available fastest). The cleaners were fabulous and so kind.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and it was a fun vacation!

Average
Review is similar to ones I read prior to going. Pools were dirty, food was average but the a la cartes were great, they cater to Canadians, took a while for our rooms to be ready. The further away rooms down back were amazing but was told that closer rooms are outdated and not very good. Over all had a very good trip but I've need to better resorts.

Great time & great staff!
Hotel was great, resort grounds are clean and food is good for Dominican Republic. Seems that the resort was a bit overbooked when we first arrived but no complaints other than having to switch rooms the first day. Also the wait to check-in & get our rooms was a little lengthy.

Not bad
The hotel was very nice but needed to have updated rooms and safes.
The vendors on the resort were next level just constant badgering to buy stuff a little to much for my liking. The food was great and the staff was absolutely amazing the beach was also incredible.
