Disappointed

The hotel is old. The grounds are well kept. The water is very shallow. The beach area on most days had seaweed that couldn't be kept cleaned because there was too much of it. There were backhoes digging on the beach areas to bury the seaweed as they were running out of places to put it. The weather is nice and the food was good.

Great resort

We loved everything about this resort, the people, the staff, the food was great. I'd give a higher rating but $70.00 Canadian funds were taken from my husband's wallet while it was in the night table due to a faulty safe. The safe was fixed the next day.

Holiday Inn Sunspree Exceeded Our Expectations

The Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica exceeded our expectations in all aspects. This was our first experience in Jamaica and we will come back (and bring other friends and family with us)! The accommodations, grounds, beach, and sports areas were clean, well maintained, and the staff friendly and helpful without exception. The tasty food in the main buffet had a variety of choices for all (breakfast, lunch, dinner) on a daily basis. And, the ala carte restaurant options and foo [... read more]d were excellent as well. We enjoyed the mini golf, snorkelling, kyaking, paddle wheelers, and catamaras, (which were all included n/c) (forgot to bring tennis shoes to take advantage of the tennis courts). The numerous beach areas always had plenty of chairs. The beach areas are broken into smaller coves along the resort which provides pleasant areas which are not congested. The location of the hotel was a short bus ride from the airport which was also a bonus in terms of time spent travelling. Overall, we had no complaints and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the resort. We would definately recommend it to others.

Wonderful holiday for the price

On arrival we were disappointed to learn we were not in rooms easily accessible to amenities as requested. One in our party had mobility issues. We were placed at the extreme end of the resort. We had paid for supreme rooms and were not given these as well. However, the next day this was rectified. The food, rooms and staff were wonderful. Beach has a muddy bottom but travelled with noodle and spent lots of time floating. Really nice because of man made island no currents. Great snorkelling.

Good resort

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Hotel in Jamaica. I was a little nervous at first going there from reading the reviews; however I thought it was a good hotel. I liked that it was a family oriented hotel. I only wish they had more shows and activities for people around my age (25-30). The rooms were clean and the food was good. I did not starve. I also liked the facted that they had so many specials going on with excursions. I got to do 3 excursions for 150$ when in Dominican I paid that much just for one! That was a really good deal! Overall, I would visit this hotel again. However Jamaica is a beautiful country and I think the next time I go I would like to stay in negril! :)

Ok resort. Great food

Example: What did you think about  this hotel? (grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.)The rooms were old and had a moldy smell and a/c wasn't the greatest. Food and staff were great. A special thank you to David from the Italian restaurant.

Amazing

Was great especially if you have kids, I felt very secure with my child on the property. Hospitality was great very friendly, always made sure you were taking care of. There were a couple bugs in the room but not a big deal.

Very good hotel

For the first time in Jamaica we didn't know what to expect. It was GREAT. The people were so friendly especially having two little girls the 7 and 4. They made us feel at home the food was really good, the pool and the beach were perfect for my girls. The enteranment was good .

Beautiful resort

service was awesome , people were extremely friendly always eager to say hello or good morning , food was fantastic . entertainment is a little slow for my taste , but I would very much recommend this resort for singles , couples and families.

Very accomodating for a family

I liked it as it had everything nearby. short walking distances. I would recommend it to anybody else who thinks to relax. Family oriented resort. Would like to go again with my family. would like to go again. This time i would like to go out of the resort in the outdoor activities offered.

Fun Time

We enjoyed our week at Holiday Inn Sunspree. We met a number of great people and the individual beachs were unique although crowded. The small island was a hit with many and the families surely enjoyed this resort. The staff was very friendly and competent;however,we expected more variety in the food served at the buffet.We recommend this resort to families.

Great Resort

It was a very nice hotel. With out standing beaches and a great staff . The sunrise looks nice from the resort. The food was very good and available all the time. The room was clean and had everything we needed.

Clean and comfortable Holiday Inn

Rooms were clean: good was standard (I'm not a big fan of All-inclusive. The service was impeccable and never questioned. The drinks were flowing, smiles all around, and families having a grand time. The night time does were OK with some surprisingly good talent on some nights. Weather was fabulous. Jamaican people were great as well! Hotel/Tour operator excursions are a little pricey v use the local s but as always ask before laying down your $$. The hotel is clean and has more of a family orie [... read more]ntation to it.

Wonderful experience for first visit to Jamaica

Friendly and helpful staff. Grounds kept immaculate. Loved our room location. Poolside bar had excellent snack food. Jerk hut a must try. Very relaxing vacation for our first visit to Jamaica. Plan on returning.

Good Resort

The resort had many locations to sit at the beach with mini bars close by at each location. The food was average with different selections. Staff was friendly. Our room was clean and fairly modern although some of the travelers were complaining about their rooms not as clean.

Convenient, authentic, friendly

Convenient, friendly, authentic" We stayed at the Sunspree Resort the first full week of March, selecting our hotel for convenience and cost. We had a wonderful time. We found the staff to be friendly and courteous and the property to be cleverly laid out - compact, but with everything we wanted - beach, pool, restaurants, bar. Having stayed at larger resorts in the Caribbean we were concerned that it might be too small - but no problems, mon! It was super quaint and nice and small.

The staff was awesome and the food was great. We really enjoyed the hospitality from the staff. Everyone was very helpful and loved to talk! We were greatly surprised at the evening view of the cruise ships as they past our beach area while dining on the balcony of the al la carte restaurants. The food was excellent at the al la carte restaurants. The Barefoot Bar was awesome!! We loved Christopher's wonderful personality and superior workmanship! Great work ethics and organization. Beautiful family vacation

Home away from home. Absolutely love this location for family vacation, I have been four times to this resort and will probably return one day soon. The food is awesome LOVE the jerk hut it's always my first stop when arriving.

Just so so ...

Went with my family in Jan 2014.Three beaches were all small.Food and service was just average.The resort was close to the airport that was a bonus.It had a kids club.The rooms were clean but just normal in size.

The worst resort

My experience was not good at all. A lot of staff where not friendly, didn't acknowledge you. Swim up pool was close but didn't say anything about it on line when i was booking. Not enough fruits, hardly ever there was bananas. I would never go back and would not recommend this resort to anyone.
