Fantastic Vacation

We had an Oceanview Junior Suite and it was immaculate and huge. We had a large tub with jets, a massive walk-in shower, and two sinks in the bathroom. There's nothing like waking up to a beautiful ocean view. The people who work in this resort are some of the friendliest and helpful people. We especially appreciated Darwin who we got to know and helped us navigate the resort. We mostly ate at the buffet (which was good) but also had the Brazilian and Mexican restaurants which I'd highly r [... read more]ecommend. There was a ton of daytime entertainment and at night we went to Ice a couple of times (their nightclub) which was a lot of fun. Lastly, my biggest recommendation would be to attend your orientation and ask Fredy as many questions as you have. He really goes out of his way to be helpful and provide you with an amazing experience.

Exceeded our expectations

Rooms: Junior suites in buildings 40, 41 and 42 are just amazing. Lots of space, very nice. Food: Casablanca is the best. Always something good to find. Service: Everybody is nice and polite. Entertainment: It was low season but despite they tried hard to keep something going on.

Big beautiful resort

The resort itself was beautiful. We were a group of 12 (3 families... each 2 adults and 2 children). Check in was very quick. The rooms needed some refreshing (looked a little old) but were clean. The water had some difficulty draining in the tub. Bottled water was replenished but we left a note and tip asking for more Pepsi in the mini fridge and never got any. They were able to seat 12 of us together every time we walked in with no wait. Oscar was he best server at the buffet restaurant!!! The beach had no lounge chairs because the tide came up to high in the evening. Vendors set up on the beach. The resort has signs saying if you value your life don’t purchase any water sports from vendors on the beach. Pools were awesome. Bars, music and washrooms close by. We had to walk through the VIP section to get to and from the restaurant for lunch and security kind of made you feel uncomfortable about go through there. Stopped and questioned us every day... we would just say “going to the beach”. Nightly shows were just ok. They were held in an outdoor auditorium. Was expecting better. Disappointed that there were no Spanish coffees or mimosa. We like to splurge while on vacation. We are used to the lobby being a fun, busy place in the evenings... but not here, nothing going on. A lot of security around, so always felt safe. There were time share condos as part of the resort and a lot of golf carts driving around. People trying to sell you vacation time share outside of the buffet restaurant but we told them we weren’t interested and they left us alone.

Not bad

It was not what we expected. No shows the whole time we were there except for VIP members. No one doing any activities. No waiters. Bars and food not opened. Had to leave our compound for any kind of service or even better quality food. No beer pop or snacks in room daily. Would go again but not to confresi. The other lifestyle ateas were much nicer.

Recent vacation to Cofressi Resort

Nice resort but a bit disappointed based on how it appears on the website. Catered more to the VIP status guests. Entertainment was a big disappointment. There was a beautifully stage on the side we stayed at yet all entertainment was on the opposite side to were we were with seating on rows of gym mats and open to the elements. Food was ok but nothing to write home about. Staff was excellent and very helpful.

FABULOUS Resort

Cofreshi Palm Spring Resort and Spa is a beautiful resort! Lots of pools, beach is great for walking, food is incredible, and our room was immaculent! Service was top notch; very friendly & accommodating. Lots of walking at the resort as it is huge and hilly.

Lots of pools, great staff!

This resort is massive and tons of stairs. Standard rooms are small with King beds however, if you upgrade to the junior suites they are beautiful and huge, highly recommended to book the junior suites!! You pay $20. U.S. Currency a week for the safe on your room which you open with a key. If you want beer in your room or any kind of liquor you must purchase at the lobby store. Water is well stocked in your rooms. Rooms are very clean, beds comfortable. Nice balcony and chairs for every roo [... read more]m. Beach is not long, ocean waters are calm due to a break reef in front of the beach which is nice. Cabanas and lounge chairs everywhere however no huts or loungers on the beach due to the tides come in high. Dining is much better at The Tropical side of the resort. Cassablanca buffet there is much better than The Pearl on the Cofresi side. Staff friendly everywhere and very safe due to security constantly walking the grounds and pool areas. If you are a person who has a hard time walking or in a wheelchair you may want to avoid this resort due to the narrow stairways everywhere and it's built on a hill very steep. However, the weather is beautiful and sunny. I would rate it a three and a half star.

Confresi Palm Beach

The good: the grounds are lovely with gorgeous mature plants and trees, the pools are hardly ever crowed, some of the staff were warm and friendly and went out of their way to do more, the beach is nice and the water is decent, we ate some good food a few times, our four year old loved the milk The bad: our room had no furniture- two beds, an end table and a chair. No dresser. This meant we had to live out of our suitcases and hoist them onto the beds whenever we needed anything. The chai [... read more]r had bugs living in it. We asked for it to be removed but it never was. The one lamp's switch didn't work so we had to unplug it to turn it off. About 30% of the staff just don't care and hardly acknowledge you. It's clear the management doesn't care either, lots and lots of broken stuff around (like the pulled fire alarm outside of our room), staff say they are forced to work with broken equipment. Visitors are constantly harassed to upgrade and people get outright lied to and basically kidnapped to go on selling tours. We were warned not to take a lift from one of these guys, and even when I said I was ill he would not leave us alone. The resort is nothing but stairs, which isn't portrayed enough. We saw people with canes and strollers really struggling. The family pool has two bars in it which led to a free for all on Saturday, with the DJ playing rap music with f-bombs and N-words and we had to leave with our four year old. The adults only pool has no bars and is always deserted. The children's pool does not allow adults. Messed up system. The buffet is mostly cheap filler foods like rice and beans a couple of different ways, plantain, pumpkin and a fish and a meat. The meat keeps getting recycled: ie. beef on day one becomes beef and sauce on day two, that becomes beef goulash on day three. The resort is opened to locals on the weekends, which means it is suddenly jam packed. The buffet ran out of napkins, bowls and foods. It was hard to find a place to sit. At the pools large groups of locals brought their own music and tried to drown out the resort's music. Everything about this place is loud, no matter where you are you have to shout. The mini fridge is only stocked on the first day - we confirmed this with the front desk. You can't drink the tap water there, so they expect you to take your empty water bottles and get them filled at a bar. Basically, if you haven't upgraded to VIP you get nothing. The mattresses are horrid - I always check for bedbugs when I stay away, and the mattresses were stained and had holes. I wish I hadn't looked. The water temp in the shower would randomly change to scalding hot. Dangerous for little kids. Whenever our upstairs neighbour presumeably showered the pipes made a horrible noise that we had to shout over. The toilet would randomly bubble up what I can only guess was sewer gas. There is also no transportation around the resort unless you are a VIP. The pathways are like roads with staff and guests driving way too fast on golf carts. The ugly - both my husband and four year old daughter spent a night vomiting. We assumed food poisoning (no fever), but later realized that the pool they had been swimming in (by the Frosty bar) was full of bird droppings and the filtration system was not working. Bird feces was floating all over the surface and had sunk and accumulated on the bottom. It stayed like this for the last three days we were there. While my daughter was ill she vomited in her bed (we didn't hear because our neighbour was showering and the sound the pipes made were louder through a closed door than the sound of a child puking), and it fouled the bed. Repeated calls to have housekeeping bring sheets did nothing until my husband personally went to speak to the front desk. Two ladies showed up, with one being obviously angry. My daughter was sleeping in the other bed and this woman was stomping around yelling in Spanish, jerking blankets. On our last day my daughter also got diarrhea which made for an interesting flight home. I have also not been right since.

Amazing!!

I love this place. I go 3 times a year and always stay at this resort!! The food, staff, and all involved are great. Very clean. Anything you need they will get for you!I have no complaints. I would recommend this resort to everyone!!

Good vacation

Staff were excellent, food was good pools were nice lots of lounge chairs were available although you are limited to shade at most there are not enough umbrellas for shade. Beach was dirty but they a did have a big storm before we got there. Only shade at the beach was under the beds no other shade was available. Lots of golf carts which almost run u over very busy. Entertainment was agin over at the coliseum which was in horrible shape an in the middle of VIP land. Our stage in confresi was Way better not sure why they don't use it. Overall it eas a great vaca not a place i would come back to though unless i was vip as they get way more amenities.

Okay vacation but amenity description is deceiving..

Overall we had a great time. We were aware that there would be alot of walking so we were prepared for it. The description for our hotel said there were 9 restaurants, 4 poolside bars, 11 outdoor pools.What it does not say is that they are spread over multiple hotels within the resort. The "Lifestyles Holiday Vacation Club" caters mainly to the VIP's and you almost feel second class as you go throughout the compound as see the amenities they have access to directly beside where we were entering. [... read more] I had read in the reviews about the abundance of golf carts driving around, which was an understatement. They are everywhere all day and all night long. I was almost hit a few times and was surprised that anyone who belonged to the "club" could drive one, young, old, sober or not. i actually witnessed a driver jump the curb and hook itself to someone's scooter. The food and service we had was good and the staff were always pleasant. The beach was small and had a lot of garbage in the the water the first few days. We did not have to fight for chairs which was a nice change from other places we have travelled to. Our room and the grounds were clean. All in all when I go for vacation I want food, a clean room and a nice beach. We did enjoy our time by the pool as there are not any chairs directly on the beach and not a lot of shade. I would recommend this hotel as long as your prepared to go throughout the compound for the amenities and don't expect things to be close by. NOTE there is a shuttle that runs every 25 mins around the grounds.

Good resort

The staff here are amazing, yes there is a lot of stairs and walking at this resort..not for those with mobility issues!. This location is part of the Holiday Vacations umbrella and you will be approached by time share staff...but tell them to hit the road and carry on. Henry and Alejandro are amazing guys that bar-tend, and skinny from the entertainment crew is a really nice guy. We learned a lot from him about the life of a Dominican.

Wonderful place

The resort was clean. The staff was friendly. Enjoyable holiday. The only complaint would be the evening entertainment was pretty boring. There was nothing for older people just for young ones who want to go to the night club.

Heath standards

The gym was perfect. Very large resort (lots of stairs and walking). Gas operated everything driving everywhere on the resort. Not a day without inhaling exhaust fumes. The gym was great and good drinks at the bar. Food is only served at certain times then your stuck with fries and tomato union on bun. Do not eat the hot dogs or hamburgers but even so, I know at least 20 people who got sick for 2 days (food poisoning?) I didn't go the gym and lost 8 pounds in two days. If you lose your resort bracelet a fee of $200 USA is expected, they say they will not return your luggage so don't give it up. Good luck The Gym was good

Fantastic!

Our stay at the Congress Palm Resort was fantastic! Special thanks to Monkey,Black Diamond, Skinny and Co Co Loco for the great entertainment and laughs. Also thanks to all the staff for the great hospitality you sure do know how to take care of your guests! The resort location is perfect right beside Ocean World. Great for your next family vacation!

Great time

The hotel was big with lots of hills and stairs. We had the last room on the hill so we did a lot of walking and stair climbing. There is shuttles that will take you around the resort. Staff were friendly and always willing to help and serve you. We stayed in the standard room and it was fine , clean lots of hot water and pressure was great. Great experience!

Big resort, which was great for a two week stay, plenty to explore. Excellent service and Animation crew was fun and engaging. ( thanks Monkey) Food was decent and the bartenders very friendly. Junior suite was roomy and comfortable adjoining rooms a bonus for our group

Too many stairs

I found this resort mediocre. They try to take you on a tour to sell u vip package. Waste almost a full day. Because you are not a vip you do not have access to all alacarte restaurants. Also there is no premium alcohol available. The food is all right. However I was very disappointed in the seafood restaurant as I had my heart set on lobster and because I was not vip it was not available and when I order shrimp pasta there were only 2 salad size shrimp in the meal. Plus for the resort was [... read more] the multiple pools. However there was so many stairs it was hard getting around without some discomfort . I would not recommend this resort.

Awesome resort

I had a wonderful time staying at Cofresi, this was my second time being there and it was just as good if not better than the first time. There is always fun activities going on, fun for all ages! The food was delicious everyday and all the staff members were incredible. There are so many pools which makes it easy to get a chair either by the pool or on the beach, no need to stress about overcrowding.

Food poisoning....

This resort has a huge problem with people being sick! Its not a question of if, it's when, someone in your group eats something unsafe. We stayed Feb 13 to 20, 2018. My son got food poisoning on day 3 and was really scared to eat after that. I got sick on day 5 and am still unwell 7 days later. Awaiting test results to see what the hell I contracted. I would seriously consider changing my plans if you booked here! Ended up in the clinic with high fever and an iv to rehydrate. It is truly unsaf [... read more]e. No air conditioning for 3 days, water running out of the overhead bathroom light flooding our room, etc., but these things are pale in comparison to your health. Change your plans!!!
