Friendly and Fabulous resort!!!

Our stay was so wonderful! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We felt so safe with COVID restrictions in place by all staff wearing face coverings and placing guests apart in dinning and suites Loved the beach and the warm ocean waves!!! Great relaxing holiday!!!

Perfect hospitality

I chose this resort based on others review, but honestly it was more than my expectation and the rate I found. Although I can mention food as one of the weaknesses but other strong points like clean, beautiful and amazing invironment, nice, professional and friendly staff, various events, can eliniminate just a couple small things. Food that I mentioned was also good in some restaurants but in general can affect my rating a bit. Good

Every thing about the resort was good, service was excellent,beach was perfect and all bars were good. But lack of ketchup,wine,bread and vodka. All these item could be purchase at the marina store outside the resort only a five minute walk this tells me there is no shortage on the island,it is an ownership problem. The pool turned green the second week of our stay.

Keep Expectations In Check

The lobby is a great place to have a drink or coffee. The pool area is very pretty and relaxing. They could use umbrellas as more shade is needed. Loved that music was playing around the pool and at the beach. We picked this 5 star adult resort because of the 3 storey buildings. The hotel room was large and the bed was firm and comfortable. Flies on the food was disgusting. Thank goodness for the specialty restaurants for some variety. The Port Royal was our favorite spot for a drink in the afternoon. Staff worked very hard there and made the best pina colada. All the restaurant staff were very friendly and the entertainment team was amazing! Lots of activity on the beach and around the pool. Nice to have a bar at the beach. We enjoyed the water as it was shallow enough to play.

Fantastic resort

My wife and I had an excellent time there we found a hotel spectacular surroundings the people there were very friendly and helpful anytime we needed anything they were there as soon as they could which we had no problems The Elkhart restaurants were spectacular food was fantastic service was great excellent staff was very friendly and cordial at the start of the week was OK by the time the end of the week the food was excellent we Think they were just getting started back from the COVID-19 an [... read more]d getting things organized as the days went on all in all we had an excellent time and we will definitely go back again we had no problems whatsoever

A Piece of Heaven

Fantastic Resort. We had a swim up room, Best room in the house. Lots of food. Wine and an abundance of Champagne. Very Covid safe...masks are mandatory entering and lobby or restaurant and staff wear them 24/7. Definitely recommend this Resort.

Lovely people and very nice resort!

We really enjoyed our stay! The staff were all so very sweet, friendly and most helpful! Staff always wore masks and we felt very safe. The a la Carte restaurants were simply amazing and served delicious meals. The entertainment was above and beyond. So many talented performers. Loved the pool and especially the comfy cabanas! Beautiful beach as well!

Mediocre Resort

Unfortunately, this hotel didn't impress me much. I'm not a complainer but I'll tell you my opinion and let you judge. The first issue was no coffee maker in the room, which I mentioned to the front desk and they said they would check into. There were 2 coffee cups sitting there and a little dish with 2 spoons but no coffee maker. I need my morning coffee. The second issue was t [... read more]he main restaurant where the buffet is served. I'm assuming the air conditioning was not working because it was very hot in there. As a result, they had all the windows and doors open so there were flies on everything. All over the buffet and all over me and my food while I tried to eat. The staff were very good. The third issue was by the 3rd or 4th day I couldn't leave my room because of severe stomach cramps and diarrhea. Not sure if it was the food or the ice cubes in the drinks. I tried to drink bottled water only but my digestive tract was bleeding by Saturday and I was taking Imodium to make it home. Check out is at noon and the shuttle back to the airport is at 5 and there was no way I was going to spend 5 extra hours sitting in the lobby. I had to pay an extra $100 CAD to keep my room until 4 and have a washroom close by. Also, it's a pretty long walk to get to the beach if you don't upgrade to the Royal plan which is at least another $100 a day per person. The pool turned opaque and there was algae growing on the bottom. I didn't go in but it looked slippery. There was some good entertainment. A guitar duo in the lobby and the band that played on Friday to celebrate Canada. So, this was my take on the hotel. I wouldn't go back.

Great facility

Facilities were great, room was as expected for Royal side of resort. Food was extremely disappointing. We paid for Royal service which supposedly included import drink but all there had was rhum. No burgers, we don’t have this, we don’t have that was the commun response. No entertainment around pools, overall I will never go back

Good resort but bad luck

The resort was good but due to a family emergency we only stayed for 2 days and cut our vacation..it would be great if we could be reimbursed for the part of our trip or a doscount for a next one so we can repeat our experience there

One of the best destinations you will love to go back

Excellent service,amazing customer care,beautiful night show ,friendly staff,clean beach and swimming pools, good food, on the top of all that very clean and safe rooms. The staff were very helpful and trying to help you every way they can.

Cuba Reopening

Excellent service, friendly staff, lovely pools and beach and food selection adequate with wonderful pastries. Showers were cool but gradually got warmer, also. Last resort on the strip so first for pick up to airport and any excursions and last to be dropped off. You could see everything improving each day. Doing well with shortages throughout Cuba.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar

We had a great holiday this resort is well taken care of a beautiful pool and beach area. We went on Feb 26th for 1 week the hotel was at 20% capacity so you had your pick of beds on the beach and the pool. If you like shade there are not too many shady options at the pool. We liked the food at the a la cartes we did the Japanese, International and the Italian twice. The buffet is good and the staff at this resort are all amazingly helpful and always smile. Our room was comfortable with lots o [... read more]f hot water and the air conditioning worked well. There were some shortages due to Covid from what we were told no ketchup, chicken the last few days of the trip, no Gin or Vodka only Cuban liquor. It did not ruin our holiday depending on what you drink.

Beautiful but tired resort

We love this resort and have visited many times, last in 2017 on the regular side and 2015 on the Royal side which was fantastic. But sadly this time on the Royal side the rooms are showing wear and need some refreshing and the food was not great. Much of this is due to US trade embargoes against Cuba that make it very difficult to get supplies in. They are trying very hard to make the best of what they have but there was no wine at various times, no champagne and orange juice, and no chicken. P [... read more]ork was the main staple meat. Lobster used to be free on the menu and is now 20 pesos per person. But the grounds,pools and beaches are immaculate, the staff are lovely and if you are not expecting gourmet cuisine you can make do. However the price of a swim up room on the Royal side is not insubstantial and I really would like to see more value for money.

We Had a wonder experince at Paradisus Princesa Del Mar!

My lady and I spent the first week of March 2020 at Paradisus Princesa Del Mar and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. I week was filled with bright smiles and good fun! We had a pool view Junior Suite room on the Royal Service side. The rooms were spacious and clean. They are starting to show signs of tiredness and could use a bit of a refresh but nothing that concerned us. Still great accommodations. The maids were in every day to service the room. We were assigned a Butler (Earnesto) and he looked after arranging anything we asked from lining up a full week of a la carte restaurants to helping us with resolving a Minor issue we had with our tour operator. His service was exemplary. The crystal clear pools were huge and beautiful. The white sand beaches and turquoise seas were stunning. The beach and pools were often busy but there was always enough loungers and shady spots to accommodate everyone. We never had to wait long at the swim up bars and often staff were coming around to the loungers to take drink orders. The food was as expected for Cuba! Do go to Cuba if your a foodie! lol They did the best they could with the resources they have. We never went without and we had some very good meals and some mediocre ones but overall we had no major complaints. Also, they made significant effort to accommodate my lady's gluten free diet. The Japanese restaurant was outstanding and so was the lobster dinner that could be ordered for $20.00 extra at any of the A La Cartes. We enjoyed the various bars throughout the resort. Especially, the Lobby Bar and the Piano Bar. The customer service from the staff throughout the resort was second to none! Never was there a time we thought the staff could have been more attentive or friendly. There was a show every night in the courtyard and great performances by local talent. After the shows, there was a dance in the disco below the main lobby. There was often live music at the various bars around the resort. We were able to get white or red wine throughout the resort with no problem. (Not available at Beach) We would return to this resort for another Varadaro Beach vacation in a heart beat!

Awesome Resort

Staff were great resort very clean food was very good overall our stay was Great. 10 minute walk to the marina just outside the resort great place to visit lots of shops we felt very safe there. Would definitely recommend this resort.

Very nice resort

The resort grounds were beautiful, the rooms were comfortable and clean, we didnt stay on the royal side either. You get 4 a la cartes but we ended up getting an extra one because they weren't busy and had room. The food at the a la cartes were all really good the Japanese was our favorite and the Mediterranean one as well as the Hilltop was very elegan but I would advise not to order the beef as my steak was thin and full of grizzle very difficult to cut and little meat on it. Cuba

Did not go in with a lot of expectations but had an enjoyable stay at this resort. In talking with other guests going with the “Royal” premium club was a good choice. Just that little more extra service and care and being able to do a la carte restaurants every night was nice. Rooms and grounds were generally well kept. Room had some minor issues related to estheticis and up keep (peeling paint and appeared some water damage to furniture) but comfortable. Not a 5 star

We had no hot water for our 7 days, only lukewarm for 2. The beaches were not maintained, lots of weeds, cut my feet on broken shells. There was no path to the beach, would have been nice that one was built. The buffets were always the same. The only saving grace was the a la carte Japanese and oriental. I should have gone to the Royalton hotel instead. I'm so disappointed.

Amazing weather, beach and landscaping. Exterior of the 6 buildings looked great.

We were disappointed that the resort was advertised as all inclusive. Neither red nor white wine was available during our two week stay unless you bought a bottle. The rooms needed to be upgraded - old worn out furniture. Had to ask for a room change because of the condition of our first room. Food was questionable. Sometimes labelled. Sometimes not labelled. Translation from Spanish to English and French was very poorly done. What you received was not necessarily what you thought you had ordered. Staff for the most part were very friendly and accommodating.
