Excellent resort

Very clean resort, staff was amazing. Beach are probably the best if you like long walks. I would recommend if you book at this resort go with the club section. It's adult only and worth the extra money.

Second Time

We decided to return to the Majestic Colonial after being there two years ago. Another couple joined us and were not disappointed either. We had swim up rooms which are ideal. The service and atmosphere was great. We loved our holiday. Rain came and went, but it still allowed us time to be in the sun and do other things. Food was awesome. Everyone was helpful and made us feel special. We really would like to go back again. Great resort.

Hotel grounds are beautiful Beach is good, although there were some seaweeds, but they were removed in timely manner by the hotel personal Food is delicious and drinks are awesome Room are clean and large I would definitely recommend this hotel

Beautiful resort

Third time a the Colonial. 2 weeks of excellent service and accommodations. We did the up-grade with butler service which was well worth the extra. Food is good. Recommend the French restaurant Le Gourmet. Superior cuisine. Mexican is also good. Entertainment average. But all in all a magnificent beach, lots of cheerful service. The pools are not over crowded and beautiful. The rooms clean, nicely maintained and comfortable. Special compliments to Jacob and Rinaldo our butlers over the 2 weeks.

ENJOYABLE VACATION

I am not sure what I was expecting but was quite pleased with the accommodation - rooms were spacious and comfortable, the buffet was a challenge for me as I am allergic to shellfish and do not eat meat - I did manage on the second day to chat with the Maitre d who thereafter assisted me in finding and having the chef make me different fish dishes (as I was not sure what sauces and additives were in the existing pre-made foods) The salads often had crab legs or seafood sauces. The only issue I feel needs a bit of correcting was the disconnect with the Transat rep at the hotel and the actual things getting done. Times were always off. Great resort

Just reopened the day we arrived. So things still needed to be done. Main ones phones in rooms were not working no working toilet in the buffet restaurant the food needs to be upgraded and sure it will in time. Amazing friendly staff our butler Emmanuel was the best awesome went beyond and above. Saw us everyday great positive lively greeting. Also hector and Habas. They are excellent. Amazing resort

Majestic colonial is a wonderful resort when considering beach, pools and bars. But its rooms are not as good. Tho rooms are not very clean, they are old and the room service is very slow and not efficient. Check-in process was also very slow.

5 star amenities, 3 star rooms!

This resort has great amenities: pool and beach were clean and well kept. The buffet and bars offer a wide variety of good quality food and drinks. Entertaining team did a great job in pool and nightly events. On the other hand, the rooms are below average. Although spacious, our room was poorly finished. The shower drain was clogged, washroom flush was not effectively working, cleanliness was poor. And room service was slow and ineffective. It took us three phone calls and an hour wait for a [... read more]n extra blanket, and we ended up getting a pile of bed sheets and a bed spread! Overally, great vacation.

Mediocre! Not worth it !

From the moment we entered our room the air conditioner was not operational and the whole room was having a damp feeling.The toilet paper dispenser was not there and the paper roll was placed on a ledge behind (needed some dexterity to do my thing !). The extending vanity mirror came off the wall when my wife was doing her hair. The whole ambience of the resort including the view from the room was bad. We upgraded our room the next day.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana

Just arrived back from 9 days at the Majestic Colonial Punta Cana. The resort itself is very clean, and the ground are very well maintained. Staff are quite friendly and for the most part very willing to help. The beach was fantastic, and again very well maintained by the hotel staff. Weather was just perfect!! We had booked the Adults only section c/w butler service etc. When we arrived on Dec 1st it was clear the renovations that had taken place for the past several months were not fini [... read more]shed, this resort never should have opened for at least another month. The VIP check in was not finished, room had no Wi Fi, phone not working ( big issue if you need a wake up call or have to contact your butler) TV did not work ( not a big deal for us) , mini fridge did not work. We were told, it's not supposed to keep the beverages cold, not sure what the purpose of the mini fridge was for then? Main buffet washrooms not ready, and a few mornings at breakfast they ran out of bottled water, the hand dryers did not work in several of the washrooms on the resort and also lacked toilet tissue on many occasions We were relocated to the Mirage which was a huge disappointment as our new room faced the construction of the new Royalton, and construction ran until midnight. Not an issue during the day as we spent our day at the beach, big issue at night time!! I'd like to make a special mention to several staff at the Colonial who helped make our trip memorable 1) Emmanuel our butler - the best ever !!! 2) Hector at the towel hut in the VIP section, 3) Oscar in the VIP lounge Also special mention to Miguelina our wonderful bar tender at the Majestic Mirage - and of course the beautiful Johanna who made the best martinis!!

Nice grounds

We stayed at the Majestic Colonial where the grounds are beautiful and well kept. Staff is very friendly. The area where the most improvement is needed is the rooms and housekeeping. Rooms are run down and not kept as clean as we like. Had to ask for more towels quite frequently. I understand they will be doing a renovation in 2 months. Buffet could use some changes as well, everyday seemed like the day before. Would be good if they changed it up a bit more. Weather and beach was beautiful.

Great Family Resort

This was our 2nd time back to the Majestic Colonial, and it did not disappoint. A new part of the experience this time was going with children and utilising the "Splash Kids Club". I have to give special mention to the staff at the kids club, they made the trip especially enjoyable for our 7 and 3 year old children. The kids did not want to leave whenever we came to collect them, and they made a lot of friends with the other children. Service, food and rooms are all top notch here. The on [... read more]e thing that was not as good as I remembered was the beach....this time around there seemed to be quite a bit of sea weed washed up on the beach which was not there last time we stayed here. I don't know if it depends on the weather maybe? I would not hesitate to book again at this resort, although I may wait a few years before returning just to try out some other locations.

Wonderful Vacation!

Just returned from 10 days at Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana. Overall it was a wonderful experience! We were not initially pleased with the location of our room and asked to be relocated closer to our children. We were moved to a room with a beautiful oceon view on same floor, just doors from the rest of our family (we did pay extra but it was worthwhile). The food at the buffet was excellent and we chose to eat there all but one night. There was excellent selection and all delicious- steak, pasta, lobster,chicken-something for everyone. We at at the tempeniaki restaurant once and it was fun for the children.

Wonderful Resort

Very clean and service was awsome a little dated but understand updating is taking place august to november the food selection was great something for everyone and a beautiful section of beach their pool is huge and beautiful and the staff is friendly and accomodating. The excurtions they offer again something for everyone. I enjoyed it all emensely. I highly recommend it if your looking for an affordable price and a pleasurable get away

Majestic Colonial is truly that...Majestic

The best part of the trip was the bus ride to the airport. In the sense that....all the people we met when we first arrived complained after their trip. It proved to us just how lucky we were to be here. The food, entertainment, people, service, everything, was breathtaking. You couldn't ask for nicer servers. A cleaner resort. A more beautiful room. Amazing resort

my fiancé and I loved it here. It was a great place to go I would go back no questions asked. we had the VIP there what made our stay even better than we could imagine. we even had a personal butler. his name is Freddy. he made my fiancé and I trip interesting and comfortable. but over all I would rate the trip 10/10. great experience and had a wonderful time at the Majestic Colonial resort in Punta Cana.

Beautiful !!

The majestic colonial is a beautiful hotel. Me and my fiancé have traveled before and this was one of the more classier places we have been. The staff were friendly and warm and always tried to get the crowed engaged. My fiancé and I upgraded the adults only section of the resort and the perks it gave us were very nice. We got an amazing butler (thank you Freddy!), access to 2 other pools with swim up bars, fancy towels and more. Amazing resort

All accommodation, dinning, entertaining very good. Nice room settings, good overall cleanliness, lots of activities, very friendly stuff, ready to help and please vacationers. Good sports activities on the beach.

Heaven on a beach!!!

The week of April 8th -15th my wife and I traveled to the Dominican Republic, we had no idea what was in store for us when we booked our 1 week vacation at the Majestic Mirage. Upon arrival we were told we would have our own personal butler (Lenny) Lenny picked us up and gave us a tour of his beautiful resort...my wife and I were in complete awe!!! We arrived at our room and we were both blown away by the size and decor, we had 2 bathrooms and a huge soaker tub in the main bathroom, if the r [... read more]oom wasn't enough we had 2 patio doors that opened to an amazing patio, we had our own personal outdoor jacuzzi and a large outdoor bed with canopy, we had a private pool off our patio. Our room was always stocked with premium alcohol and snacks. Our butler Lenny made a personal point of insuring that our vacation was the absolute best stay possible, Lenny booked all our Ala cartes, and looked after any need that came up. Lenny was a 1st class embassador to the Majestic Mirage, Lenny was very proud to share everything his resort had to offer. Our 1st night we dined at the main buffet, we were simply amazed over the selection and at how delicious everything was. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, they were all very neat, no dinner plate or glass sat empty for more than 30 seconds before we were offered topups, as we left the buffet that 1st night we were in complete shock over our pleasant dinning experience. We spotted the dinning Manager (Ogledy), we made it a point of sharing our possitve experience with Ogledy, Ogledy was very appreciative and very proud of his staff. Ogledy made it a point that for the rest of our vacation that we had the absolute best vacation possible, Ogledy set up an amazing steak and lobster tail dinner for us, we were simply blown away with the quality of every meal from start to end. We had the privilege of eating at a steakhouse 2 nights, the steakhouse was amazing, the staff and service were amazing, we had the option of eating there everyday if we wanted too, we also ate at the Japanese restaurant, the chef put on an amazing show for us. Our overall dinning experience exceeded our expectations by leaps and bounds. Antonio Pares Vasquez was our omelet chef, he greeted us with a smile and an amazing personality every morning. I always ended my breakfast with a fabulous crepe made by Francisco. Every breakfast lunch and dinner was definitely far better than any other resort we have ever stayed at. I truly believe that other resorts should look at the Majestic Mirage, because the Majestic Mirage is the proper way a 5 star resort should be run. The beach is simply incredible, there was an abundance of shaded lounge chairs, also plenty of beach side beds. We walked along the beach in both directions, no other resort even came close in comparison, many other vacationers walked along the beach and stopped and we're in awe!!!over the beauty of the Majestic Mirage. Alex and Anna kept the entertainment going on the beach with plenty of activities. Drinks from every bar were of the upmost premium quality. This vacation was absolutely incredible, Ogledy took such amazing care of us, Ogledy is most definitely a true asset to this resort. Ogledy is a very kind and much welcomed member of our new Dominican family. Nightmare vacation

The grounds, pool, beaches, food and majority of the staff were incredible. the lack of accommodation on behalf of the hotel management was very disappointing. several serious events happened during my stay. due to malfunctioning equipment in the resort i suffered personal injury. they did take responsibility for the incidents but 5 days after arriving home they are yet to settle the situation. after promising compensation i have heard nothing from them. i do have photos and videos of the events [... read more] and can and will take action if needed. for being a 4 star resort i was very disappointed. would not recommend or return.
