Newer Hotel - Limited Recreation Staff

Ample staff in buffet restaurants, large food options, something for everyone. Opposite at the lunch pavilions and health/smoothie bar near the beach - only 1-2 dedicated servers, limited menu, (chips/hamburgers/nuggets), long lines due to small batch preparation at high peak times. Staff needed in populated social areas for disruptive - loud guest. Restaurants reservations blocked, first or second choice unavailable. Walk by showed restaurant half filled - few servers.

Amazing vacation at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya

It was a girl's only vacation and it was absolutely fantastic! Resort is absolutely beautiful, everywhere you turned you found something to admire. It was huge. I love animals and this resort has a few of them running around playing and looking for their next meal. I was quite entertained by the racoon on the beach helping himself to lunch and was able to get some great pictures of him. Food and  [... read more]drinks were available all day long - even the pickiest of eaters would find something to eat. They have 7 al la carte restaurants, an ice cream parlour and a coffee shop. Staff were friendly and helpful. The design of the buildings was very unique and efficient when being shuttled to and from your room. I flew with Transat and got a free bottle of Tequila and slippers. Water pressure was perfect. I also loved the towel décor staff made everyday - I looked forward to seeing the creation of the day! Ping pong, yoga, volleyball, snorkelling, kayaking, nightly entertainment something for the whole family.

Was nice, clean, modern resort

grounds and all area were very nice and kept, was all very picturesque!! Our family enjoyed the resort, especially the pools , the food was great, all the employees were excellent!! Will definately like to return!

Huge resort

The resort is huge lots of walking to get around ...but a great place to enjoy your vacation. The rooms are comfy but could use an upgrade the bathrooms are kinda of goofy with the openness ,ok if just a couple in the room .the grounds are beautiful ,service is great,food is great,bars need to stay open longer if you are a hard core drinker . My wife and I had an excellent time ...cheers !

Is a beautiful resort!

The rooms are nice..huge and airy..lots of room! A huge variety of different foods. Lots to do right at the resort! The grounds are well kept. The workers there are all very nice and friendly! I was overall, very impressed. Also a nice selection of their gift shops.

Biggest resort that I've been to so far.

I truly cannot say anything negative about this resort. The rooms, food, staff, pools etc. were amazing.I would definitely consider returning. Met some great people and staff members. The excursions were wonderful with great tour guides.

Beautiful resort!

I loved how well kept and clean this resort was! Amazing and friendly staff and services . Never had to wait for meals, drinks, rides! Loved how easy check out was...could use a second staff on duty tho for support.

Best Vacation Ever!

This was our second trip to the resort, we loved it so much the first time that we decided this was where we wanted to get married. We were married at Sirenis in April and brought 50 of our friends with us. Everyone loved the resort and had a great time. They handled our all of our wedding details and concerns and I didn't have to worry about anything. The food was great, service was excellent and rooms were spotless everyday.

Beautiful

The resort was amazingly beautiful and large. The food was fantastic and the variety was impressive. People were friendly as was the staff. Had a few minor incidents that could have easily been avoided with better communication. Very family oriented resort.

Jaw Dropping!

My visit to this resort was for a destination wedding (my boyfriend's brother was the Groom). The ceremony took place on a private beach area on the resort and it was a picture perfect location to have a beach wedding! In my opinion this resort is jaw dropping in both beauty and size! We stayed for a week. I highly suggest bringing some snorkel gear with you as you can do this activity on the beaches and you have the opportunity to see manta rays, sea turtles and different kinds of fish! I'm a veggie and there was more then enough food selection for myself. If you book an a la carte dinner (which I highly suggest) they usually have vegetarian options on the menu as well. Also for the omnivores out there I was told the meat is great (this review comes from my meat eating boyfriend and his family)! The nightly entertainment was also very good and we always tried to catch the shows whenever possible. There is a pre-show for those of you who have little ones before the main show at 9:30PM. The entire resort staff I came into contact with were all very friendly and accommodating with any requests we had. I highly recommend this resort and I can't wait to go back!

Amazing Resort

Clean rooms , excellent service at the beach and pool people are amazingly nice , always there to help us , I had my mother with me and she uses a walker , every time she was out for herself , any golf cart stop by her asking her where she wanted to go and they always took her wher she wanted to go and then came back to pick her up.

Great resort

The resort was amazing. Everything from the staff to the location to even the weather were perfect. The shows they put on at the resort were fantastic. Air Transat in london didn't seem to have everything together as we were delayed for an hour when leaving for cancun because of a catering truck and when we got back early we were delayed again because the baggage unloader broke. Beautiful resort!

Overall the place was spectacular. ..very friendly staff ..food was fabulous (the main buffet was the best place for any meal) rooms are large. ..lots of wild critters to see...not much of a beach but it was great snorkeling! We will be returning one day!

So so experience

This resort is mediocre. I was comparable to a resort in Cuba of the same star rating but for more money. I wouldn't return. Postives: - the grounds were kept nicely -Lots of activities including the lazy river (which is unfortunately only 10-15 minutes long and there is such a line up you can't go twice) -nightly shows are fun and they have lots fun entertainment Negatives: - al a carte restaurants were horrible. If you are a foodie of any kind or enjoy good food this resort is not for you. We had to go off resort to enjoy any kind of authentic fresh Mexican food which is a shame. The coffee shop is good if you enjoy real espresso or cappuccino. - rooms were medicore. -room service is only 11-11 and take more than an hour sometimes to get to you. -wifi is $35 a week!!! And you pay extra for a safe - get to the beach or pool extremely early to get a good spot. There are signs saying that people aren't allowed to reserve spots with towels but it's not enforced so if you don't claim a spot before breakfast they are gone. Also around the beach chairs it's kind of dirty with cigarette bugs and spilled drinks. I even saw a used feminine product one time. -There is no such thing as an 'adult only' pool at this resort even though it says there is. So if you'd like a pool bar without children jumping all over the place around you this is not your resort. Pretty much everywhere there are tons of children even at nights in the lobby bar etc.. Definitely go off the resort to Akumal Bay- the snorkelling in this area is great! I was wasn't totally dissatisfied with the resort but I won't go back. Definitely not worth the price tag as I could stay somewhere a lot less expensive for the same experience.

Good but not great!

Having to pay for a safe and wifi are huge negatives to this resort. Food and drinks were lacking..seemed to be quantity over quality. Beach isn't great, pools were nice, rooms clean, hard workers, mediocre shows.

Very good resort

Resort much better 4 yrs ago when many managers were around to speak to the guests. Some issues with front desk and day of departure. Stood around for 25 min waiting for bus, yet bus driver was there and had not called out any of our names (3 families). Pick up time at 7am and coffee machine was broken. We asked for coffee from the restaurant and you would have thought we were asking for a gourmet breakfast. Than answer was no. We thought the drive from the airport was direct it was not and we h [... read more]ad to stop at other resorts. One stop was a gated commnunity and we had to drive all the way through it to get the other passengers and all the way back out. That trip alone was at least 30 min. Yes I would recommend this hotel to others if they want an hr and a half drive from the airport.

Wonderful Resort

We loved the fact that this resort was in a jungle setting. The food was great! Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were kept really clean and the towel folding for the kids was amazing! We loved the beaches and coral reefs, saw see turtles, sting ray and fish in the waters of the resort. Super great holiday! Excellent coffee bar!

Beautiful resort

The only complaint I would have is that our room did not smell fresh and clean. Everyone commented on the smell when they entered. If I go back to Grand Sirenis I would definitely not accept Rm 1104 and would request to see the room being assigned to me. Other than that the grounds, food, staff were excellent.

Very Clean Resort - Grand Sirinis Riviera Maya

Fantastic. Had a great time with friends. Lots of walking. Food excellent. Entertainment excellent. Enjoyed the excursions. Tour guides informative very pleasant. etc....... Room 1344 - awesome service- very clean.

Resort:

Resort itself was excellent. Room clean. Staff excellent, courteous, extremely helpful not pushy in any way, Check in and out was fast. Trip to and from resort excellent. Tours arranged through representatives on site great. Choice of many pools and spa services. Gym was okay. Al la Carte restaurants had a Mexican touch to the food which is not true to the cuisine of the country represented. Although the staff were fabulous. The buffet was always good and selection was great.
