What a GEM

Grounds were well maintained. Pools were clean. Beach was very nice. Food was fantastic Drinks were plentiful (no hassles from bartenders) Staff was very friendly and helpful The only issue was the "Showtime Theatre" that was built near the rooms. This was somewhat loud and echoed throughout the courtyard where the rooms were situated; anyone wishing to turn in early was out of luck.

Fantastic Resort!!!!

We had any amazing time at the Ocean Coral in Mexico. The room, food, entertainment, staff, beach and amenities were far beyond our expectations. This was our 7th visit to the Mayan coast but the 1st time to this resort. This is by far one of our favourite! We would go back in a flash to this resort!

Great resort

We enjoyed spending a week here. The grounds were well taken care off. The staff was friendly and the rooms were also well taken care. Could have done a bit better job on cleaning the beach area every morning

Beautiful time spent thanks to the wonderful crew in the hotel, they have excellent service, there are 8 wonderful restaurants that are worth visiting and you want to come back every day. A lot of attractions for children and for couples during the day. 4 swimming pools to choose from a quiet zone but also a swimming pool with bar and music. Wonderful wonderful wonderful

Title says it all Great food, wonderful staff, friendly and helpful. Alexandro on the beach, towel person at the pool by Mexican restaurant great great. Beach boy and life guard in same area pleasure to meet. Waiters in buffet great. Buffet had amazing food - fresh, tasty and so much variety. Wonderful experience and we would recommend it to everyone. With all that said there are some exceptions. We would not go again to Japanese restaurant and Mexican was disappointment as well. Better Me [... read more]xican food in Canada surprisingly and sadly. Unfriendly waitress...only unfriendly person we met there. Little Creperie has a great salad and chicken caeser sandwich and we went there twice for those. Third time it was so bad that we left most of it. Not sure what happened there...some momentary glitch perhaps, since the sandwich ordered by people who came after us looked good again. That one came after we complained to the friendly waiter and he talked to the kitchen staff. Speaks volumes about how they care that you have a good experience.We would go again to little creperie as it was that good those two times. Greeters at the restaurant doors could relax a bit and let people sit where they like at available tables. It feels that they were sometimes on “power trip”. It seems that lots of writing here went on “criticism” but it is with good intentions and with hopes to improve this almost perfect place. With all said we loved loved loved this place. Go there you won’t be disappointed, or any possible disappointment will be so minor that it won’t affect you or ruin your holiday. There is just that much great here!

They had all the “wants snd needs” were met!!

It is a location that provided something for everyone With therefore pools it provided a location for everyone from being quiet to a rowdy party area There was lots of entertainment throughout the day that you could join in and The stage productions at night were current and fresh If the opportunity arose I’m sure I would go again

A real gem!

Ocean Coral and Turquesa was beyond our expectations.Really liked this resort; cozy and easy walking,no trolleys! All buildings right next to ocean,beautiful beach and water deep enough to swim in, no sand bags like other resorts.Wished we had a few more days! Ten days would be great.Staff and food excellent.

Nice place

The hotel is clean and well maintained, the beach is very nice. The room was spacious, but had an unpleasant smell, either caused by moisture or by chemicals used for cleaning or may be pest control. Buffet was great, but a la carte restaurants were a little bit below expectation in terms of food choice. Little Creperie and Sansai exceeded them, though.

Awesome time at Ocean Coral and Turquesa!

Stayed for one week Nov 3-10 2017 with a group Such a fun time! Resort was maybe half full which was great because no waits, lots of chairs & space! All staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was modern and clean. Food was great--zero complaints! Chose this resort for a few reasons (we usually go further into the Mayan Rivera) --so close to the air port --right on the ocean --clean beach --restaurant selection Did not disappoint! Thank You!

Very Nice for an Old Resort

This was our first time to Mexico. I must say that we were quite pleased with the service and attention received while there. It was the off season and our trip central rep. kept us up to date on what services were not available during this time frame.The staff were second to none. Everyone was more than helpful and went above and beyond to provide a service. The grounds were very well kept. No garbage anywhere. Staff were always around manicuring and did not interfere with any of the guests. [... read more] The restaurants were very clean and also the staff were there to service you if needed. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and have already done this. I would visit again and stay at this hotel. Like they say: "No need to fix something that is not broken". Hope to see this resort again very soon.

Great resort. Wonderful people but understaffed

Rooms: Good size rooms for families, comfortable bed, proper amount of towels provided, clean facilities. Restaurants: Adequate choice of restaurants. Things can get crowded at the A la Carte's if you get there a tad late and you will have to be patient to get in. Service is very good and they try and accommodate you as much as possible. Buffets also get crowded and servers get overwhelmed. As a result drinks may be served after you are done your meals. There is no way to get drinks on your o [... read more]wn. Food: There is plenty of variety to choose from whether it is at the buffet or the a la carte. The kids menu is limited as is the same across all restaurants. Pools: The hotel has 4 pools. There is something for everyone whether you like to party or enjoy some quiet. Beach: Great beach. Seaweed is a problem across the Mayan coast but it is very tolerable. Staff try and keep the beaches clean.

Fantastic Resort with a Teeny Tiny Bit of Beach Problems

Ocean Coral & Turquesa is a beautiful resort and their staff are very polite and approachable. The food was absolutely phenomenal (Blue Moon Restaurant in particular) and provides many options for individuals with dietary restrictions/preferences. They even give their guests a card which marks which restriction/preference they have and the guest presents this when they eat so the kitchen staff will accommodate their preference/restriction. The pools were great, minus the fact that they got v [... read more]ery warm by the end of the day which is understandable, because the sun and all the bodies swimming in it. Unfortunately, by no fault of it's own, the resort's beach (as well as many others along the same coastline) are experiencing an issue with seaweed. Most days there would be large mounds of seaweed washed up on shore and entering the water was uncomfortable because it would either be floating in the water or you would step on it. With that said, the resort is very good at controlling the seaweed problem by having members of their staff tasked at cleaning the beaches each day. The larger issue with the seaweed is that as less people use the beaches, the pools get crowded quite quickly. Make sure you get to them early if you want decent chairs. The room was great and very cool (thank you, air conditioning). The only issue we experienced with our room was that the water temperature from the shower was inconsistent so it was hard to have a shower without adjusting the temperature several times. Additionally, there was no door to our bathroom, just a curtain which although stylish and romantic, for those individuals who may enjoy more privacy in the bathroom this may prove to be a bit uncomfortable. Overall, our vacation was fantastic and despite the very minor issues which we encountered, we would definitely recommend the resort to friends/family. Ps. they have a wonderful entertainment team who are very engaging and fun and their dancers are absolutely phenomenal!

Great stay at Ocean Coral and Turquesa

Our family visited this resort at the beginning of July for a week, and we had an extremely pleasant time (Arrived on July 4th). The grounds are very good (everything is well maintained, great view of the ocean from the swimming pool area, everything is walking distance), the food is good (lots of choices), and the beach was very relaxing and chairs were always available. The rooms were upgraded to the privilege section and we were pleased as well. In addition, the coffee shop was very enjoyable and it was fun to have afternoon tea and sweets there. The fourth of July dinner and the Mexican dinner was a hit- we loved having dinner in the open air. Entertainment went on every night and was excellent quality! The only thing we would like to suggest is to improve the cleanliness of the dishes in the buffet and restaurant, was not the best level we've seen so far. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would be interested in visiting again!

Loved this resort!

We are getting married here in December and it was with a little apprehension that we went there 6 months in advance to scope the resort out. Couldn't be happy with the choice. The people, the food, the rooms, the location, the gardens, the wedding planner..everything was fantastic. I know my wedding here will (hopefully) go without a hitch!

Wonderful Vacation

Myself, my husband, our 6 month old son, my mom and my great aunt stayed at the Ocean Coral and Turquesa from June 2-9. I have been to a few resorts before, but this one topped all. The food, staff, rooms and layout were all amazing. Our biggest concerns going to the resort revolved around our son. We wanted adjoining rooms with my mom and aunt so that we could have the baby napping in one room while we hung out in the other. We wanted the resort to be small enough that getting around with  [... read more]a baby was easy. We wanted to make SURE that the food was good so that no one got sick. We wanted a crib. ALL of these needs were met and we couldn't be happier. There are 4 pools at the resort, 3 of which we visited. At the pool that has the pool bar, there are shaded king size cabanas that worked out perfectly for our little family, so our son could stay out of the heat. I only have 2 negative comments. 1. At 10pm on our second last night there we were in my mom's room with our baby sleeping in our room. Through the monitor I heard a noise in the room so I went to check it out...There was a MAN in the room changing a light bulb. I was very freaked out. I don't know why they would send someone at 10pm at night. He sad he knocked and didn't hear anyone, so he probably assumed we were out at a show or something, but I think it is INSANE that he came in. We could have been sleeping and wouldn't have answered. More than that, our son was in the room! Needless to say, I didn't sleep well that night knowing that the staff can just come and go as they please. 2. There needs to be a bit more shade. Other than that very scary incident, our trip was amazing.

Amazing Resort!!!

This resort was absolutely amazing. The service, cleanliness and employees are top notch! The overall layout of the resort was perfect, never having to walk more than 5-7 minutes to the 4 pools, 8+ restaurants and multiple bars. Every single employee was extremely friendly,helpful and happy. We will definitely be returning to this resort and definitely upgrade to Privilege.

Exceptional Resort

The Ocean Coral and Turquesa was a wonderful resort. The food, cleanliness, employees and service was outstanding. We stayed for 5 days and every single day we were wowed by the friendliness of all employees and superb service. The restaurants were fantastic and the beach and pools were great. The overall layout of the resort was great, never having to walk more than 5-7 minutes to access all the 4 pools and multiple restaurants and bars. We will definitely be returning soon.

Fabulous Vacation

Loved everything about this resort! The food was amazing, the pools were so clean, the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you! A 20 minute drive from the airport and fairly close to Playa del Carmen. Peurto Morelos a quaint little fishing town with great restaurants and bars only a 5 minute drive. Rooms were a little dated but clean. A lot of seaweed on the beach but the hotel did it's best to keep it clean. Great time at the Ocean Coral

If your looking for negative comments you won't find many here. Staff, very friendly and professional. Cathy around the pool was a non stop dynamo. Rooms, mine was musty until I requested a dehumidifier other than that very comfortable. Although the pillows need to be changed out Food was good to excellent, great variety in the buffet. The others were come right in. We had 5 in our group and it's safe to say everyone had a different favourite. The beach during our visit was unusable. The sea was rough. I can't say whether that is the way it always is, it was windy for our whole week. The pools were clean with quiet alternatives to the party pool bar. The entertainment was bit of a question mark. I can't tell you how good or bad. The communication of what was going on where and when was spotty to say the least. The last night however they featured a group of Cuban tenors in an outdoor setting, they were fantastic. I never went on any excursions, I've been to Mexico many times and seen pretty much everything I'm interested in. We made the trip to Playa del Carman and it was fun as usual. The cab fare was $72 one way for a 45 min ride, couldn't find Uber lol. We also spent an afternoon in Puerto Morales and in my opinion its worth the trip, I can't remember the cost, around $35 return??? One recommendation, bring money. There is a bank machine on site but the user fees are frankly ridiculous. Bring your money with you!!!! That's about it. I would recommend this hotel to frankly everyone. There were couples of all ages, groups of men and woman travelling together. Literally any demographic is present.

Great service, great modern rooms, great food and great people! It's been an amazing trip and we would definitely return again. The only thing I would say is to have more food choices in buffet but restaurants were amazing!
