Club Amigo Mayanabo: good resort

in general I liked the grounds & the beach areas.....dining room is also very nice....friendly staff...attentive service.....pool liner seams had separated in several places and will bother some guests....food is plentiful and plain but I knew what to expect before I got there(this was my 3rd time @ Myanabo)....the meat I find a little overdone(probably for safety reasons) but the cooked veggies were just right.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: First time in Cuba

I have nothing to compare this resort to because , it was my first time travelling out of Canada, the staff were helpful when i needed it, the rooms were so so, the food was so so, but i would probably go back again.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: Hot, fun time & met nice people

The resort has nice rooms, good food and good service. I swam, biked, kayaked, met kite surfers. Perfect weather! Only concerns: hotel room too near noisy disco, noisy tractor working on the beach for 2 days stayed and wish I'd stayed longer than 5 days. I was treated very well.

Gran Club Santa Lucia: Great resort

great resort, everything is very close, fully accessible, coffee is terrific, staff are excellent, rooms large and clean, food is Cuban, beach is fantastic. Local tours reasonably priced and great value

Mayanabo has the best food in Santa Lucia. Mayanabo is well keeped. The beach was being cleaned the week I was there, but we still were able to use it during the day. All the staff members are very polite. I will go having back in November.

Fantastic holiday.. Wish we could have stayed longer.. Price was fantastic.. Resort was quaint., well maintained, not too busy... One of the best little getaways .. I have every had.. Beautiful !!! I most definately will return..

Club Amigo Mayanabo: Super friendly...great time in Cuba!!

We stayed at the Amigo Mayanabo for 2 weeks with our 4 children (8-15). The staff were very accommodating with our room requests for adjoining ocean front rooms. Note.....there are no balconies on the upper levels. For us, having a patio to sit outdoors and have the kids play was a must. We were on the ocean rooms 208 & 209. We have been to Cuba many times and were pleased with everything and everyone. The rooms are dated and tired, but the resort is very nicely kept. The grounds and gardens wer [... read more]e immaculate. We took a horse and buggy ride to Cocca beach (x2). This was a great way to see the local sights. The beach there is nicer than the resort, which was nice too. The entertainment staff was fabulous. We are not real "joiners", however found ourselves taking part in some of the activities around the resort and having a blast. There were many repeat guests...this I think says a lot about the staff and the resort. Met a number of local Cubans who were very happy to chat with us. We were approached by a number of locals asking for items of clothing.... This was uncomfortable at first. We did leave things for them at the end of our stay. Most of them were appreciative. All in all a great trip to Cuba. Very relaxing and insightful as you are in close proximity to a few small villages. Great value... The staff was thankful for tips but there was no pressure to do so.

Hotel Caracol: Everything You will expect from vacation and more

Much better than expected. Very comfortable and accomodating almost anybody's vacation needs. Food was a daily show of visual esthetics and quite good tastes. Entertainment was like having Brodway quality spectacle everyday and different from the previous one. Who need to go to heaven if You could go to Caracol and be surrounded by that nice people. Club Amigo Mayanabo: Good for the price!

Rooms are ok, no what most of people expect, very clean, food was good enough for me and my friends, friendly people as usual at Mayan abo, the pool was very clean also, the only problem for me was, there is only one bar and open till 11 pm. But overall good place for me. I been at Mayanabo 3 times and I will come back!

Club Amigo Mayanabo: great resort for family

this is may not be a 5 star but the staff is fantastic.the location is great and i love that it is surrounded by local business and housing.you can walk out to other restaurants and do not need to be confined to the resort grounds.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: Better than it's 4 star rating

Food was pretty good. Room was better than expected. Beach is beautiful. Lots of organized entertainment at the pool. Nice Cuban band in the foyer every night. Great hotel to stay at for kiting, if you're going for kiting get a room at the east end of the hotel for close proximity to Kiters beach (100 yds). Sercotel hotel is closer to Kiter beach but not nearly as nice.The staff is very friendly, not overly crowded. unlimited data by Wi-Fi for only 2 pesos/hour.

had a lovely last minute getaway - my only disappointments were with Air Transat (having to purchase food on the flight, room not as advertised) - overall, flight and transfer were fine - drive to hotel was 1 1/2 hours (but in a new bus) - quick check in - room not as advertised though as it didn't have a patio - hotel staff were professional and courteous and offered to change rooms in the morning and gave us 4 new rooms to choose from - we opted for a main level room as it had a walk out patio [... read more] - none of the upper rooms have patios, but did have the ocean views - all main floor rooms had patios, but with twin beds - grounds were very nice and well maintained - loved the beach - it did have weedy sections, but the water was so clear it was easy to see where to walk - we did bring our water shoes, but didn't wear them - snorkeling off the beach was very nice - saw star fish, sand dollars etc - food was typical cuban fare with pasta bar, salad and smoothie bar, grill etc - nothing fancy, but good none the less - seafood al a carte was a delicious and wonderful evening; food and service was GREAT complete with a 3 piece band to serenade us :) didn't sign up for any excusions as we only wanted to relax on this trip - we did bike down the road to see the flamingos and walked through the other hotels and village - coffee bar was lovely as well - overall a quiet and restful holiday - smaller hotel - not a party place which we preferred - we'd go back!

Small resort in a cluster of 4 on the beach; spotlessly clean and very peaceful. Many seniors staying for multiple weeks, so no loud drunken youngsters! Friendly staff; no line-ups due for food or drink; lots of beach and pool chairs available. Buffet food ok but always cold; omelet and pasta bar in buffet the best option, as well as the snack bar. Pool and beach great. Standard rooms are tiny; get one on ground level with a patio or upgrade to a suite - which is an amazing apartment. Fairly iso [... read more]lated Cayo surrounded by cattle ranchers and Cuban cowboys, not a lot to do close by; virtually no shopping - so perfect if you want a quiet, peaceful vacation. Take a horse and buggy ride to check out the pink flamingos in the lagoons; be sure to take in a lobster dinner (the lobsters are huge and delicious!) - many options available in local homes or tours to La Boca (fishing village). Windy and cool several days during my stay at the end of February. Have travelled to Cuba frequently; first time I felt the Cuban winter - but I still love Cuba.

Brisas Santa Lucia: Pleasant Resort

Grounds were neat and the resort well maintained. There was a very nice pool. Lounge chairs were mostly always available at the pool and the beach. Staff was please and rooms were always clean. Would suggest filling the fridges on a daily basis and add variety to the selections in the buffet.

Brisas Santa Lucia: Good bar service

Nice hotel for the average traveller. Food was ok. Bar was 24h. Beach was a bit seaweed due to wind and reef. Reception was helpful when needed. Grounds were nice to walk threw. Overall the entertainment was fun.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: needs help

While clean and tidy, our first room was the size of a closet and the water and Air conditioner didn't work. We transferred to a suite for 10 CUC extra per day and except for the fridge that didn't work, it was fine. The food wasn't bad, the staff were the same, but for our 10th trip to Cuba, this was probably the least enjoyable. Marie France our Air Transat Rep was amazing and I would certainly recommend her anytime.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: Pleasant Stay

Beautiful beach and friendly staff. Food was not bad. The renovated rooms are basic but nice. Coffee bar was great. King Ranch, Camaguey Tour and snorkeling were excellent. You can see many varieties of fish even just snorkeling off the beach.

Club Amigo Mayanabo: Amazing place

Great place to spend a vacation and meet new friends. Friendly staff and always ready to help. Nice weather and amazing beach. We would recommend this place to any of our friends. Visited the place four times in the last year. Feels like home!

Brisas Santa Lucia: mature single women beware

the hotel is clean...the rooms sufficient...the food not bad....but be warned that Cuban hospitality is selective to the big tippers and vacationers who speak anything but english....save your money or give it to off resort Cubans who really appreciate the help and need it....attitudes toward mature single woman are prejudiced and you are treated
