Great family vacation

Just returned from an amazing week at Ocean Riveria Paradise. Clean, modern and well designed resort. Big resort with many pools and options, our 3 kids enjoyed the water slides, ocean pool and games room. Food was fairly good with many choices and no reservations (recommend going early to avoid lines) my only complaint would be that lunch options are more limited.

Family Vacation

Very clean resort with friendly staff. The facility is lovely with lots of pools. Its laid out like a small town. We upgraded to an ocean view room in the Eden section. Nice size room with a generous balcony and charming deck furniture. The beds were very comfortable. Great shower and jetted tub. The food was mediocre for the most part. They did have room service with the exception of breakfast. That was disappointing for us! We would have enjoyed breakfast on the balcony. While the staff was f [... read more]riendly, the service was typically slow. It appears as there was not enough staff to provide efficient service. We've been to many resorts and this was the slowest. The Japanese and steak restaurants were the best. As well as the ice cream shop and the cafe. The beach pizza place was excellent! The buffets were poor. The kids enjoyed the teen club and the bowling alley was very cool. Some little kids came in the teens club and saw some the more grown up video games and my son was concerned about that.The beach was pretty good. The seaweed was minimal . There are some rocks in the swimming area. When the water is calm you can see them easily and avoid them. Otherwise just start swimming! The slides in the kids pool were very slow-kid comment.

Good Resort for Families

We enjoyed our vacation at this resort. There was a minor check-in issue (the first room we showed up at was occupied), but they worked hard to resolve it. And we found the steak-house restaurant to be a disappointment. But the rest of the restaurants were good (especially the Japanese restaurant) and they have the basic all inclusive resort formula down well enough. I would recommend staying here, but I've stayed at other resorts that do it equally well and some that do it better.

Incredible Resort

My first large resort and I loved it. So much to do we didn't even do an excursion. Fully entertained and considering there were two days the resort was at capacity 2300; you didn't even feel it. Nothing was too crowded as there are 5 pools and so much to do. Loved the lil shops; loved the panio bar at night. The evening shows were so well done and produced and costumes were amazing. The mattress in the privileged rooms was the most comfortable I've EVER slept on. I'd love to know the make. The eco friend animals were an amazing touch. the sports and entertainment staff around the pools could not have been more friend and outgoing and entertaining. I just can't say enough. The grounds are incredibly clean and maintained and just transform over night every night. The staff and there has to be so many "overnight" are incredible.

Excellent Family Friendly Resort!

Our family had an awesome time here. The food was excellent and we were blessed by great weather. The room was clean and modern and we loved the hanging basket chair on every balcony. The setup at the beach was great but actual beach was not the best, not really suited for swimming in or snorkelling if you are into that. The awesome pools more than made up for that though. Would definitely return.

Great modern resort!

We went to this resort mid-January and were pleasantly surprised. We travel twice a year and have seen a lot of different sites. This did not disappoint. Staff were always upbeat and pleasant. Most spoke very good english and eager to help. The food, well, if you like good mexican food as opposed to North American tacos and burritos, you are in for a treat at the Margarita restaurant. The modern decor was a nice change and everything was spotless. Ultra comfortable bed and nice sheets. We did not buy the Privilege club and did not suffer. Good service at the beach. Highly recommending this resort.

Fantastic family getaway

Our family of 2 adults and 2 kids (2 & 5) had a great week in the sun. Pros: -Tons of space; lots to explore -Beach was lovely; didn't mind the longer walk to get there -Waterpark is so much fun, especially for kids aged 3-10 -Buffet has tons of great food; ate there for all meals but one -Rooms are clean and quiet Cons: -Entertainment (starting at 9:30) is too late for families -Shuttle from Cancun airport took over an hour with drop-offs at other resorts in between, so not the qui [... read more]ckest trip -Most of the beach chairs are claimed early in the morning--ppl leave their towel but are away for hours. This selfish practice (common to many resorts) is such an irritation; wish it was banned.

Beautiful, huge resort — just a few wrinkles to iron out

First of all, I'd like to thank Debbie Maguire of tripcentral.ca for her assistance coordinating this trip. She was instrumental in helping us narrow down our options and make some smart choices. She was also patient with all our questions, quick to respond whenever we emailed or called, and really insightful about our destination choices. As for our experience at Ocean Riviera Paradise: There is a lot to love about this resort. The pools — and there are many of them — are beautiful. The [... read more] grounds are immaculate. The rooms are stylish and pretty well decked out. The food was generally quite good. There’s a nice mix of quiet little nooks and active party zones scattered across the property. The evening shows were actually quite well done. The beds were comfy, the room service was quick and the staff were all quite friendly. Our nine-year-old was a bit too old for the mini club activities and a bit too young to hang out in the teen club (without us), but plenty of kids seemed to enjoy these spaces and the staff looking after them seemed attentive and fun. The children’s water slide park was another small letdown - the water flow down the slides is so light that only very small children could actually “slide” down them. The very size of the place makes most of those positives possible, but it also means (at least it meant in our experience) that when you encounter a hiccup, it’s easy for your concern to fall through the cracks. For example, it took three days and several phone calls to get the robe and slippers as promised in the room’s amenities. A little thing, sure. But also an easy thing to fix. There was also a big open, empty space on our rooftop deck where the website suggested a sectional lounger should have been (Eden Junior Suite with Rooftop Deck). We could see that our neighbors had one, for what it’s worth. We planned on spending a lot of our time up on that deck, and had chosen the upgrade based on how it looked in the website photos. Despite multiple requests, the furniture never showed up - no one even came to check. The deck also had two lounge chairs - both of which had broken legs. (We’ll never know for sure but we wonder if the furniture situation might have been resolved if we had signed up for a pricey membership in the hotel's parent company — the omnipresent high-pressure sales tactics were off putting.) In the end, furniture isn’t everything, of course. We still had a wonderful vacation and I would happily recommend this resort to anyone, with the caveat that they will need to be prepared to speak up quickly, loudly and persistently if anything is amiss.

Great family resort

The grounds were very well maintained and rooms lovely and clean. A good selection of restaurants and lots to choose from at the breakfast buffet. Very helpful and friendly staff willing to do anything to make your stay pleasant.

Loved Everything!

Beautifully manicured grounds, fast and efficient checkin at the Privilege area. Food and drinks were always exceptional, as was our butler, Paola. This is our 2nd time staying at he Ocean Riviera Paradise and we would go back in a heartbeat. Marco at the Privilege Beach area was amazing, always a smile in his face:) Endrick at Route 66 restaurant was friendly, funny and kept our drinks filled and the food came fast. The privilege upgrade was totally worth it!

Great resort

The resort was beautiful, rooms were clean,did not have a alcohol dispenser in room, only two beers a day, and pop. Stayed in daisy section close to food, the Japanese, and Blue moon restaurants were our favourite, as far as the pools they were nice , but could use to be cleaned better noticed rings around edges, the hotel was not to far from playa we took a cab ride for $17.00 one way ,only about 15 min ride .

Very good resort

We spend many many days at the resort, it had various pools for families, kids and adults only too. The dinning was very accessible, lots of nice Canadians also stayed there. The rooms are very clean and the service is regular. Lots of activities to keep busy and themed evening entertainment was good too. The resort is ideally located near lots of activities in and around the Riviera Maya. The beach had rock along the coastline and the “updates” are a bit much. The noise at the children’s [... read more] pool was very loud, pay the upgrade and go to the adults section.

Excellent rapport qualité-prix!

Cet hôtel est très bien entretenu, l'aménagement paysager est fort agréable et la nourriture proposée est à la fois très diversifiée et appétissante. Nous y séjournerions à nouveau sans hésiter. Le piano bar ne devrait pas servir au karioke.Chaque hôtel doit avoir au moins un petit coin tranquille et chaleureux pour les conversations en soirée.

Beautiful resort!

People were very friendly and helpful Resort was spotless and well kept The restaurants were clean and loved that u didnt have to make a reservation for specialty restaurants ( except for japanese) If i had to point out something to improve, it would be the temperature of the food it was not hot at best luke warm Tours were good and on time Timeshare people backed down once you said no and were observant of your space It felt very safe Entertainment was great the shows were best i have  [... read more]seen at any resort

Decent resort

Hotel was decent. I wouldn’t say it’s 5 star. Food was bland, had a hard time finding food that I liked. There was only one restaurant in the resort which I really enjoyed my meal. Staff were friendly.

Not what I expected

The resort itself is very nice. It’s big and has good shows and activities. Pools and beach is good. but The service and food is not the best. We paid for privilege and the room wasn’t even set up ready or properly clean. I highly recommend to get the privilege if you are booking this resort. Manager Carolina was very underestanding and she helped us with our issues but we were told the next day that she is gone for a week. We were supposed to get certain things sent to the room but it didnâ [... read more]€™t get send on time. Also the reservations for the restaurants got mixed up. Overall the resort itself is good but the food and service is not more than 3 star.

Nice Resort

Nice resort rooms were nice but were little tired and need to be spruced up. We did not go in pools at all we are Beach people however they did not look very inviting water looked green. They should paint the pools blue or white to make the pools more inviting and clean looking. Dining was good buffet was good al la Carts the best were Asian and seafood located on beach. Great resort! Not so great service!!

Our groups of friends, 13 ppl in total stayed here Dec. 5-10/18. The resort is really nice,we all have a swim up rooms. Just wish they have bidet in the toilet. Facilities are great. Italian restaurant has the most excellent food & services. The Blue moon resto also has good food & services. Route 66, best chicken wings, on the menu it says “hot wings”, meaning it’s hot/deep fried not spicy. Kind of confusing. Who eat cold chicken.LOL. She said, we can’t have our table ready until everybody’s present. So, when everybody’s there, we thought we’ll be seating in on one table. The hostesses said, they cannot changed the settings of their dining area. Why did she even asked us to wait.!Until our group are all there. If they can’t even accommodate us on one table. We even told her we can use the long table w/ the bench at back as it was almost empty at that time. Well, end up On different tables far apart fr esvh others. The rid eye steak is very tough & chewy. Our server “Baltazar” is so forgetful, he forgets w:c table order what the whole night. The buffet restaurant doesn’t have much selection, in fact the menu is almost the same everyday. It start fresh at breakfast & lunch. Dinner is like left over of lunch. They just rearranges the food in a smaller platter. The best part of activity is the at pool, foam party. And the karaoke night.

Very nice family resort!!!!!!!

We were in El Beso adult only. Rooms are big with bathtub and shower very comfortable. Restaurants are great food very good .No need to go to a la carte Buffet restaurant has everything you desired. Very nice service. Very excellent night intertaiment :shaws ,bands. Only one problem water is not in you room you need to call room service to bring it to your room which takes time==you might call a few times Generally nice resort I could recommend.

Lovely resort, great for family’s

Love this resort. There was so much to do, never bored. Had a club on the resort that we had no idea about as it wasn’t really advertised. They had a restaurant that was open 24/7 which was nice after the bar. Yummy food, good drinks. I would highly recommend xplor fuego excursion!! ATV, night zipline, caves exploring. Resturaunts at the resort has great food. Apppetizer, dinner and dessert. 5stars. So far the best all inclusive resort I’ve been to. Very helpful staff for the most part. Only downfall was all the walking, they had a shuttle that would take you back and forth but there is only one running and takes forever to wait for it so we just walked. If you don’t want to do a lot of walking, I would recommend the daisy or adults only hotels as they are closer to most of the entertainment. We stayed in the eden hotel which was closer to the beach but far from everything else. Overall we had an amazing time and would strongly reccomend visiting this resort!!
