Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great family resort

This hotel is a great resort for families. There are lots of activities for the kids. The entertainment music was too loud though. The rooms if not staying at the level are nice but dated. The grounds were well maintained. The pool was cleaned daily. They do mention they have 6 pools, however if you are not staying at the level there is only the main pool and the kids splash pool you can swim in. The spa was very nice and staff are certified massage therapist. Hotel staff were all very nice and  [... read more]tried their best speaking English. The beaches were beautiful with little to no seaweed. The food at the Al a carte restaurants were excellent. The food at the two buffets were very good however the food that is kept under the heat lamps were always cold. Location is excellent , 20 min from airport.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Noisy resort

I found the noise level waaaaaaay too high. There was no escape unless you stayed in your room. Perhaps it would have been better had we upgraded. Only had access to main pool unless we upgraded. Very very family friendly! No kayaks or boogie boards for use. Vendors very tiresome. Food on buffet always room temp. Only got hot food if it was cooked in front of us. However if you didnt mind eating cold food it had great flavor. A la cartes were excellent. Had a difficult time getting receipts in [... read more] proper names. Booked and paid for snorkelling on a glass bottom boat - ended up being forced onto a party boat. 100% wouldnt have made that choice. Couldnt get refund, couldnt cancel. Massage at spa was great but very pricey. All credit card purchases had surcharge. Very friendly and helpful staff. Service was good throughout. Would recommend upgrading!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Friendly Resort

Excellent resort overall. Transportation within the resort could have been better organized considering the large area to be covered particularly for people with physical disabilities. The restaurants were excellent . Additional barbecue areas in the pool and beach areas would have been nice.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Amazing!!

Beautiful grounds, great rooms! Food was excellent and very friendly staff!! Close to the airport Lots of activities Very nice beach with lots of great lounge chairs with extra thick cushions Pool was amazing

Paradisus Grand Cana: Never again

We had a nice time until two things happened. The hotel went from 25% capacity to 100% capacity overnight. They had 1500 Jewish families all arrive at the same time. The group had their own wifi, the shut down the buffet to regular guests to accommodate their kosher diet, there was no longer a place to sit by the pool or beach. A lot of the times there was not adequate supervision for the kids. The kids were seen vomiting and pooping in the pools. To make matters worse, my husband and I got viol [... read more]ently ill on the last day. When we came back, we inadvertently gave it to our two young kids. Anyone that is a parent who has two young kids with a stomach bug knows how difficult it is to function and parent at the same time. I just don’t understand why the resort wouldn’t have just shut down entirely to accommodate the large group. Unfortunately this will be our last visit to this hotel along with all other hotels affiliated.

Zel Punta Cana - All Suites: You get what you pay for

This resort has passed its hay day..felt it was kinda run down and lots of features were not well maintained i.e drawers and cupboards in room were broken..shower and toilet doors did not close. Took 5 days for hotel staff to repair faulty TV in our suite. Took 4 hours for house keeping to bring toilet paper as the did not replace it when they serviced the room. Generally the staff were friendly but not very well trained and lacked knowledge of amenities and services. Every time we had a requ [... read more]est they did not know the answer and never got back to us with information we requested. The food was very mediocre and in most cases over cooked and bland. Lacked variety and every day was the same menu.The specialty restaurants were a welcome change but also lacked flavor and did not come close to what was described by the server. The Nexus bus service was very inflexible when we requested a pick up they wanted pick us up 5 hours ahead of our flight. As a result we had to pay for a taxi to the airport as we did not want to wait for 5 hrs at the airport.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Big Resort , good food , great service.

The room was good and clean , the bathrooms were good too. We had a gardenview suite which means there were unobstructed views of greenery. Food was good at the buffets and lots of variety. Spa service was amazing as my wife decided to get a massage , she was treated extremely well. The forest trail to the beach was very nice. Room service was decently fast and food was good .

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Resort and the staff were amazing

The grounds were very beautiful They need more staff to help with the keep up I loved the wild nature that was on the hotel grounds Our grand kids loved the pool The washrooms were always clean The staff was very helpful and friendly I was sad that we were not close to our children and grandkids

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Never again sunwing

Go to greece for the same price. Daycare aka seeds club needs a good cleaning like toys walls floors. Gates need to be closed. Rooms smell of mold cause walls and roof have mold spurs even curtains. Melia Puerto Vallarta: Great food and extras

The food had a good variety and was delicious especially moles and tacos. They have nice little extras like room service for barely any charge, waiter service on the beach, providing extras for room quickly if asked, and good front door service where the men remember you and come find you when your ride is ready. There is a small minibar with pops and beer that is restocked everyday. This is really a family resort, I went on my vacation alone. I like kids so it didn’t bother me but I found it made it hard to meet other people as everyone was part of a family or huge extended family. There are many activities for the kids like a day camp so parents can also relax and the activities were interesting and different. The beach is smaller but still beautiful. There are only a certain amount of beach chairs so I couldn’t get a beach chair for the first 2 days I was there bc everyone saves a chair early in the morning by putting a towel on it then walks away for several hours…so I started doing that too, reserving my chair, going to breakfast then returning to the beach and staying with chair I think they should make a policy that you can’t reserve a chair unless you are on the beach or maybe have additional foldable chairs we can borrow if all the chairs are taken.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great for families!

The property is beautiful and very well kept. Our rooms were large. Housekeeping was good but not always consistent when it came to renewing coffee accessories. Excellent, friendly staff but disappointed with Concierge who wasn't much help., possibly because she had too many people to handle. Disappointed in entertainment, especially the lack of anything special on New Year's Eve, just a singer and not the party advertised. The property is not really accessible for the disabled. I had a w [... read more]alker with me and would not have been able to mount stairs to buffets without help as there were no handrails. Good variety of food. Great for families but a bit overcrowded. Difficult to get chairs by pools and beach as other residents had claimed them by leaving their towels on them really early in the morning and then left them empty while they went off somewhere else leaving other residents searching for somewhere to sit. Overall, a good experience. Weather was certainly lovely!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Totally mediocre resort with a beautiful beach

We did have a good trip, the weather and beach were beautiful but the resort itself meh. The food isn't great, breakfast is by far the best meal as you can order eggs and omelettes and there's always fresh fruit. Other than that the food is pretty terrible even at the restaurants which are a pain to book. You have to wait in a line in the lobby which can take several hours and they only book certain days at a time, so chances are you'll have to wait in the line more than once. That said, the res [... read more]taurants are better than the buffet so worth the wait. The best drinks, coffee and service are in the lobby bar. Linarda greeted us every morning with a smile which we appreciated, she was attentive and super friendly. You have to specify that they make your coffee with the espresso machine otherwise they'll go out back and serve you lattes or whatever out of an automatic machine which are disgusting. We took our own towels which we were grateful for as they ran out sometimes.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Overall pretty great!!

The resort was great, overall! The water park and separate pirate ship pool for kids was awesome! The resort thought of all the little details for kids - popsicles, ice cream shop, kid-friendly food, awesome kids club with fun activities, etc. The beach was beautiful!!! We were able to walk to downtown Playa Del Carmen from the hotel which was nice. Food was decent.

Grounds and public areas are really nicely kept Landscaping is beautiful Restaurants and buffet area nicely design The only issue was a reception We call 3 times the reception for bell boy to help us out with luggage on the last day of stay, they got the request but never sent anybody. because of that we got late to reception and AirTransat bus left to airport without us. Zel Punta Cana - All Suites: Very Poor Resort - Serious cleanliness issues.

Spent a week in Garden Suites by Melia in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic on a family vacation in mid-December 2023 via Sunwing. Overall, I can NOT recommend this resort with the serious cleanliness concerns and limited options for meals, especially given how it is advertised. I’ve been to Punta Cana multiple times and there are much better resorts available. Positives: 1. Resort grounds provide both walkable paths and golf cart shuttle options to the beach, kids water park and other re [... read more]sorts (Falcon, Paradisus) 2. Convenient amenities at the pool and beach such beach towels, day beds and lounge chairs. 3. Variety of well-organized kids activities throughout the week. Negatives: 1. Cleanliness and maintenance is serious concern. We paid to upgrade to the Garden Master Suite, but our hotel room had significant issues. (i) Most disturbing were the disgusting maggots we found on the bed sheet and head board. (ii) The latch on the bathroom door did not function so the bathroom door would not stay closed. (iii) After taking a shower the water in the tub would not drain. There was a pool of water higher than my ankles. When I talked to the front desk about changing rooms they initially said that there wasn’t an option to move rooms and to check back in the morning. I had to be firm about moving rooms given how unacceptable the conditions were. It should be noted that there are 4 hotels on the Melia property (Garden Suites, Falcon, Paradisus, Melia Caribe). 2. The buffet at the Garden Suites is tiny. Comparable in size to a Holiday Inn breakfast bar with limited menu options for breakfast, lunch & dinner which gets repetitive quickly. 3. Advertised by Sunwing as “Stay at 1, Play at 2” resort with free flow access to restaurants & resort facilities at Garden Suites and Falcon Resorts by Melia. In reality, this misleading as guest at the Garden Suites need to make reservations to eat at any Falcon resort restaurant. Even restaurants that typically do not need a reservation such as Origen (buffet) are not accessible for breakfast or lunch. Same with Mangu which is the outdoor poolside restaurant that is open for lunch. The process for making reservations at the Falcon is not simple as you need to go through the concierge. The concierge will ask their supervisor who will reach out to the Falcon. You cannot book in advance for later in the week and there’s no transparency on the status of the request. Even if you follow-up with the concierge they do not know whether or not a reservation is possible during your stay. It’s a very poorly thought out process. Expect your meals will be primarily limited to the restaurants at Garden Suites rather than what is advertised. 4. One of the conditions for eating at Falcon resort Origen buffet is you’ll need to sit through a presentation about joining the Melia timeshare / vacation rental program. This was not communicated to us by the concierge when arrangements we made. 5. Be aware that the servers at the a la carte restaurants in the Garden Suites will pressure you to post a 5 star Google review after your meal and then ask to see it. As the result the Google ratings for the Garden Suites are being boosted by the restaurants and may not truly reflect full resort experience.

Melia Costa Del Sol: The best hotel

Very nice hotel, excellent service, very clean rooms, front desk friendly and helpful, food implacable, nice variety and good quality. Amazing location close to everything. Great entertainment. We’ll be back again for sure.

Grand Sirenis Cartagena: Fantastic place to stay

Enjoyable experience overall. Nice resort with all the amenities...food was splendid and pool was perfect. Rooms were modern, cleaned daily, and washrooms had great water pressure. Close to the beach and 20 minute can ride to old "downtown" Cartagena. I would definitely go back!

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Great trip

We loved the paradisis resort. Everything is super close and walking distance to the beach, pools, restaurants and room. We will definitely be back with our two kids. The one area that could use improvement is the entertainment. I was told by those in the adult section that there was more activities on our side and no shows or performances at night.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Loved this resort

We were impressed with this resort and we were happy we chose it on the recommendation of our trip central agent. We had a junior suite which was quite spacious, double sinks, large shower with 2 shower heads. We tried all the restaurants that we were available to us at La Perla and on the family side and were impressed with the food. Every employee we encountered was friendly. There is a large pool where the games and music is played but if you prefer, there is also a quiet area pool. O [... read more]n the negative side, there is not enough shade at the pool or the beach and the umbrellas they do have need replacing, imo. Some are ripped and some have mildew on them. Overall we would return.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Good and Bad

The Hotel it self was very beautiful, the food was above average, the room,pool and weather were also good. That was the good. The service at the lobby bar and in 2 of the 3 allacarts were horrible. Tried to get water for our room everyday was like pulling teeth from an angry lion. Friday to Monday if you were not a local, forget trying to get food little alone water was impossible. Would never go there again.
