Amazing resort!

We stayed at the club VIP section and the staff was very friendly. Carlos, Rossi, Adrianna, Laura and Irene were always there to answer our questions or have a friendly conversation. The rooms are beautiful. We also had room service.The beach is amazing. They had entertainment at the Lobby bar and on the beach. I enjoyed the Yoga and Zumba on the beach. Great Beach

Resort is nice and clean with beautiful pools and beach. The room is set up well with good housekeeping daily. Always could find a lounger at pools or beach. Food is what you expect for Cuba at buffet but much better at a la cartes.Also service at buffet was slow to get drinks or even cutlery. Found only main lobby to go in evenings so was busy

Lovely resort

The resort was lovely. Very clean, well kept both outdoors and indoors. Lovely people. There were supply shortages(some food and no wine) but there were many choices of food. The beach was nice. There were some rocky areas. Plenty of palapas or cabanas. The resort is new so there are some improvements to be made. You had to ask for water and they provided only two beers in the room for the duration of your stay. We hung ours up to dry. I trust there will be improvements in the years to come when the area is complete. It’s a nice place for a low key relaxing vacation.

Great hotel room and amenities with some improvements needed

Room is clean, modern and as described, resort and amenities, pool are new and very nice. Beach is very beautiful but rocky in certain places. No hot water shower at 5 pm, lukewarm at best. Buffet food is ok, no wine, ony cervesa and few drinks, plates not always clean, but overall ok if you're not too difficult, we didn't get sick during our stay. For resto reservations there was a 30 min lineup not worth the wait, availabilities were very late in evening 8 pm is difficult to go with a young child (4) at that time. Service is hit and miss depending on areas/ employees, at bar always had quick and friendly employees, buffet some good others you have to go see them to get coffee at breakfast. It hapenned that some employees completely forget your order or service your requested: ex: forgot to put water in minibar for 2 days, forgot to change towels, reserved boat at beach rental and boat rented to somebody else when we arrived. Guy at gym was great, entertainment people on beach and pool very friendly and gave a great service. Overall, it was a nice vacation and stay, mostly because of nice hotel amenities, beautiful weather and beach/ pool entertainment. I don't regret it, and I believe all in all the positives of this hotel and vacation outweight the few negative experiences, would recommend to easy going friends/ and if bring your own wine, toiletries/ tissues, and few snacks with you. No shop at the hotel, so no possibility to buy any extras besides what they give at buffet, room and restos.

Fantastic Vacation

We stayed at Grand Aston Cayo Paredon March 22-29. The resort is new and absolutely beautiful. Our room had a king bed, a massive walk in shower, a lovely ocean view and a fridge stocked with beer and water. We were in bungalow 9 which is right next to the beach. The beach is soft white sand with lots of shady palm frond structures and recliners. We never had any trouble finding a place to spend the day. Other than the coral (which are easy to spot in the clear wate) , everything is sandy and soft and easy on the feet. There are 4 huge pools as well as a few smaller ones. They were sparkling clean and not overcrowded at all. The cabanas are comfy and relaxing. We found the food to be quite good for Cuba. There was lots of pork, fish, some chicken and beef, potato dishes, rice, beans, pasta, bread, a salad bar, loads of fruit, ice cream, and pastries. For breakfast there were eggs, toast, fruit, yogurt, juice, cereal and various vegetable and potatoes. The food was fresh and cooked properly. We really enjoyed the Cuban sandwiches and churros from the beach bar. My husband loved the coffee at the bars and the blended coffee on the beach. The gardeners brought young coconuts for drinking several times during the week. They ran out of cola for one day, but they had everything else the rest of the week. Lots of rum, beer, pina coladas, juices for mixing, vodka, tequila etc. There were some great live performers and we wished there were more! They were excellent. We were warned to bring toilet paper and toiletries, but they had enough of everything while we were there. The staff were incredibly hardworking and friendly. We tipped in US dollars and Canadian, and that worked fine. We did not exchange any cash. There was wi-if, which worked fine the few times we used it. We didn’t need our travel converter, as the plugs worked fine for our Canadian chargers, cpap machine etc. I would go back now if I could! We went on the snorkelling excursion and the trip to Moron, and loved both of our days away. Cuba is a beautiful country experiencing real hardship, so we tried hard to be kind and to bring some items from home to help. ❤️ 🇨🇺

Great place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary

The hotel was beautiful. Room was exactly what we were hoping for perfect view!!! The service throughout the hotel was excellent especially my friend who cleaned our room smiles everyday. I would love to return to this hotel providing they changed the food.

Experience

Resort accommodation was very modern and very clean. But there was a shortage of bath, hand and face towel. Also the grounds were well kept. As for service in the restaurant must be improved. There was a shortage of cutlery and napkins in the restaurants. Also no wine service either. Very unorganized in the main buffet area along with not enough food selections. The entertainment could be better and in a deferent area from the main lobby bar section. If there were to improve in these areas then yes I would highly recommend this resort.

Amazing Resort

We just spent two weeks at this amazing resort and were impressed with everything about it. The facilities were excellent and well maintained. The beach was good, although there are some rocks in the water. The food was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a good time while there.

Absolutely dismal resort; the worst family vacation we've ever been on!

This hotel was falsely advertised, and is well below the 4.5 star rating it was marketed as, and that we paid for. We've travelled to Cuba many times, but this last experience was beyond the pale! PLEASE do not book your vacation at this 'resort'. Food was inedible, lack of evening entertainment, virtually non existent towel service, rocky beach, lack of drinks choices... Unconscionably poor.

I would give the resort zero stars if I could. I do not know how your travel agency could possibly suggest that your clientele stay at the Grand Aston Paredon. The food, by any measure, bordered upon being inedible. One does not generally travel to Cuba for the food, but this was ridiculous. Tureens of gelatinous goop, powdered egg omelets, bone dry pork, it was horrendous. By the second day we were ready to leave. All of this at a newly built hotel?? Ridiculously poor customer service. Management/ corporate head office were obviously perpetrating fraud by luring guests with the promise of a 4.5 star experience, only to severely deny even the most basic of expectations. I have two questions for Tripcentral: 1. On what basis did you steer my family towards what will always be our absolute worst travel experience? 2. Why should my family, or ANY family, ever trust you again with their travel plans?

Nice resort, amazing plage, substandard food

Unfortunately there are so many negatives about the food that the overall picture is bad - no fish or seafood at all - only meat available regularly was pork - very limited choice of cheese at breakfast (sometimes no cheese st all) - many days limited choice or lack of soft drinks and juices; none towards the end of day. - no red or white wine in bars and buffet restaurant - limited access to a la carte restaurants. Ok, I guess

ok, I guess, it could have been better, it could have been worse. I have been to better resorts in the past. As usually the beaches and the ocean in Cuba are some of the best; good thing there was no weeds or plants in the water. Weather was very good; the water temperature was perfect. Brand new resort, I believe it was open 4-5 months ago. Not too many things to do around the resort, kind of isolated.

Starving

There is very bad food shortages, no bread, butter, pasta, fries, pizza to name some. Lines for 30-40 min to get eggs or ice cream. No welcome drinks. The room was not clean properly, the balcony had birds poop all over, never cleaned.

Probably why they had a shortage... to encourage you to go spend money at the government owned restaurant. Snorkeling off the beach was amazing Far from excursions. First pick up and last drop off of jeep your, although close to nautical centre so catamaran excursion was only 20-30 mins away.

Resort is pretty

Grounds,and beach was gorgeous. Unfortunately food and restaurants were unorganized and, under staffed certainly affected by many things covid etc. It made for long lines and food shortage. We literally had no bread or certain meats depending on the day.

Highest is as 3 star resort in terms of service

No even bread, no eggs, no fish or meat except the lines for it. no napkins, staff is rude. Nobody cares about anybody or anything. All eating facility cannot hold the capacity. Lines are everywhere. You can book only 1 restaurants after you spent 1 hour in line. No coffee or tea sometimes. They even don’t change the towels. 2 star resort

This hotel did not have enough food to feed there guests they were out of everything examples no bread for 4 days no eggs no oil or salad dressings no cheese no straws no napkins no pop only tang orange juice no drinks like mojitos banna mamas nothing unless u wanted a beer we were very disappointed an had very little to eat all week

Nice Resort

Resort very nice, its new. Very clean, staff friendly. Beach excellent lots of chairs and cabanas for everyone. Food was to be desired but they tried their best as there was a food shortage during our stay. Limited drink choices, some days they had the liquor the next they didnt.

New resort still growing

Let me start with the people, amazing, friendly, helpful and always greeted us with a smile. We upgraded once we arrived to the Club Privilege, and were moved to a junior suite in building 8. The room was great but the service was even better (thanks Rosie, Carlos and Laura). As part of the upgrade we received unlimited access to the ala-carte restaurants, Brazilian (skip it), asiatic ( just ok), Italian ( not bad) and Tex-Mex ( best of the bunch). We also had access to a club only restaurant, [... read more] that had a menu but would make whatever you wanted if they had the ingredients. The buffet was challenging but typical for Cuba (“we don’t go to Cuba for the food”). We are not much for partying, so we spent much of our two weeks sitting by the club pool reading, we were often the only ones at that pool. Rosie and Carlos would bring us drinks and lunch by the pool. We were there for the last two weeks of February and the weather was great, there was, however, a persistent wind that made to weather feel a couple of degrees colder especially when you got out of the pool. The beach is nice and when the tide is out you can walk in the surf for kilometres. This is a new resort that was not yet operating at full capacity, pros: able to stay away from others easily, cons: not all features of the resort were open. There is also a number of additional resorts being built in the same area, meaning, in a few years this should be a happening area and will probably end up out of our price range. We suffered some food shortages, cheese for a couple of days, butter for a day, certain fruits like pineapple seemed to be in short supply, but the creative staff did what they could with what was available. Bottom line: great resort but you have to understand that resorts in Cuba are always challenged to your favourite food and drink available all the time, but the staff will do everything they can to make sure you have a great vacation.

Nice resort

As far as the hotel is concerned, it was beautiful. The rooms are beautiful. The facilities were also nice. The beach was great, the wait staff very warm and accommodating. As far as the food is concerned it was terrible. There was a tremendous lack of items. Many times, no meats except for pork. Rarely did we have chicken or beef, or even turkey. Considering that we were at a coastal resort there was never any shrimp, and the fish was very poor quality. The hotel advertised 9 restaurants but only 5 were operating and frankly speaking nothing outstanding. No on-sight convenience store. You have to take a 30-minute bus ride to any kind of shopping. Personally, to pay 5-star prices and get 2-star quality is not what I expected. This hotel has a long way to go before they reach 5-star level.
