Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Honestly-We have been to a lot of resorts in cuba and we have been to better with lower stars.

Grounds-emaculate. Food-poor variety,poor quality,not hot,same items spread out-same desserts every night of the week.lots of staff but not the Iberostar quality we expected.Dining room staff fantastic but just not the food quality. Beach-lacked care-should have been raked or something probably the worst I have seen varadero beach.But talked to several other persons and the beach closer to town was better. room-mattress springs coming through(room 1611)mattress.room very outdated including  [... read more]bedspreads,furniture etc Entertainment-went from ok to very good.We thought the lobby area had better entertainment then the actual shows at night. not over crowded,always find chairs.Lower denominations of cuba peso's hard to get for tip money. Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Friendly and fantastic!!

From the moment we arrived to this paradise, every single encounter was beyond friendly. Genuine greetings and encounters with staff made our trip. Stunning lobby and amazing restaurants. Infinity pool was relaxing at times and entertaining. Entertainment staff were all involved with guests and made sure everyone was having a good time.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great time at Azul

6 of us stayed here first week of April. Shuttle to the resort was on time and took around 40mins. The resort check in was very fast with no issues. Our first room had no safe , we were assigned a new one right away. We were in the ground floor room 12116 sliding doors opened out to one of the several pools next to a bar/restaurant serving drinks and a small menu from 10am to 430pm daily. Very good service. Pool was awesome...clean ...tables and chairs around the pool were always available. We d [... read more]id 3 restaurants Cuba/Italian/Japanese. Japanese being the best. Breakfast /lunch and dinner were very good always a very large selection of food. Several bars around d the resort drinks were not an issue. Internet is sold by the hour with 1cuc per card with username and password.. day trips are available at extra cost... We just hired a car and went I to town to the markets...cost us 20 peso for 4 of us. Cheap!...I would forsure go back here...it's Cuba not the Hilton Toronto!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Nice resort but over rated in our opinion.

We enjoyed our stay but... no doors on the closets, tub drain was plugged, no tub drain so no bath, no shower stall so we had to "climb" into the tub that was 2 1/2 feet high. The shower head was not hooked to the wall so we had to hold the wand. The door wouldn't close without overriding the lock. There was a 1 inch step up into our room that we kept tripping over. There was a 1 1/2 inch step up coming into the lobby that people were tripping over. In our one week stay we enjoyed the frien [... read more]dly staff and variety of food . The resort is large so there were lots of people around causing congestion in the main buffet area. We had trouble finding shade anywhere unless we were willing to get up before daylight to put towels on a lounger. The pool area attendants made sure we had mats to put on the lounger. That was "comfort" :) The beach was very nice with lots of huts and loungers. The beach was very clean. We didn't stay up to see any of the entertainment but we heard it was a nice. Internet was fast without any problems.

Iberostar Waves Tucan: Fabulous resort - Iberostar never fails

You always know what you will get with an Iberostar. Great service, smiles and courteous always. Never waited for a drink anywhere within this resort. Great food although a little repetitive. Shade all around the huge pool. Separate adult only swim up bar. Ice cream bar, Paella at the beach every lunch. Freshly made burritos at the beach every lunch. Fabulous beach - some seaweed but constantly being cleared by hard working staff. Monkeys, Peacocks, Flamingoes, Tucans, Parrots and more a [... read more]nimals I can’t pronounce the names of throughout the jungle!- lots to see and beautifully well lit in the evenings. Al a carte restaurants easily reserved. Italian and Japanese fabulous. Rooms smaller than average but plenty big enough and clean. Fully stocked mini fridge daily. Would definitely return to the Tucan/Quetzel. (They are the same resort)

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Ok resort typical Cuban resort

We booked this hotel three months in advance . We requested a king size bed that we didn’t get . The room was big enough and short walk to the beach . Very standard room with a view of a road nothing special . This is my 6th visit to Cuba and I’ve stayed at six different resorts . I won’t complain about the food because we never went hungry but it is what it is . Would I visit this resort again ? No , but that goes for all the others as well . The younger generation don’t pay the same attention to the guests as the older ones do . I always had to ask for more water or more wine or more of what ever I was drinking . Most don’t even make eye contact in order to avoid being asked for anything . I want expecting five star service but I was expecting a smile and some gratitude after all the whole island is dependent on the tourism dollar . Anyway we live Cuba for the most part the people are amazing considering their situation . I will visit Cuba again and again but I will try a different resort each time . Footnote , there is a great lack of beach chairs , there were many people wondering the beach up and down looking for chairs so I suggest bringing a beach blanket just in case .

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Incredible Vacation with Amazing Service

From booking the vacation with Martine in St. Catherines, to when we arrived, 100% satisfaction. We arrived at the Iberostar Laguna Azul and were met by the friendliest hotel front desk attendants I have ever met. As we were checking in, a very nice lady brought us a citrus juice drink right there at the front desk, and it was amazing. This was the first impression and let me tell you, you felt like royalty! Next up was the bellman who took our baggage to our room, all along the way  [... read more]he was providing us detailed information on the hotel, the activities and the night life at the hotel. He explained how to also get around off the resort on the double deck bus service.....all day for $5.00! We got to our room to find a king size bed fit for a queen and the most spacious room I have stayed in. Our room was very clean, plenty of pillows and clean crisp sheets and towels. The shower was huge and LOTS of hot water! The pools at this resort were awe inspiring, clean, cool and plenty of room for everyone! You had a choice of 7 different pools from very active with lots of people, to quiet and private type pools if you want privacy. The beach....oh the beach...was so clean and water sooooo clear! The food was incredibly tasty and plentiful! The head chef of all the food services can be seen walking around ALL of the restaurants on the resort at EVERY meal! The Japanese Restaurant was my favourite, the chef we had was comical, but he made the food with incredible precision and with such a fun way to include his guests with cooking and the atmosphere! Now to the best part, the STAFF. The staff, whether it was the bar staff, waitresses or the room cleaners...were AMAZING! They really know how to treat you as a special guest and not just a tourist. Our waiter Jonkey in the buffet diner (not sure if it was spelt right) was truly passionate at his job and he made everyone feel welcomed by the way he treated our wives at dinner and gave the guys a rose made from paper to give to our wives.....we invited him back to Canada! He was so amazing. Israel our WestJet guide at the resort was very helpful and accommodating while booking excursions! He is a true testament to hospitality! This first trip to Cuba will be one of many we will take. We all said (6 of us) we would definitely be going back to Cuba and we also said this resort will be top of the list to return to! Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Iberostar Resort - Great Half Moon configeration

This resort had a great layout of Buildings with Lazy River and Swim up Bar in the centre. Everything was close to Sandy Beach. Great view from Balcony to see the Ocean. Easy access to all restaurants. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: not a good choice

will never go back. Room not clean, we stay 2 weeks, the beading was never change. Several people sick including myself. We go to Cuba every year and I was never sick. No activities and under staffed

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Fabulous large clean resort!!!

The resort was very clean. The staff did their best to fix anything that was broken on a daily basis. Our room was very large, same with the bathroom. The groundskeepers were T outside every morning and would say hi (Hola!) with a huge smile to us every morning when we walked by. The beaches(Mégano and Ensenachos) were both amazing: one had a bit more coral and rock on one side so it was amazing to go snorkeling in, with tons of tropical fish. The food was also very good with a pretty good variety on a daily basis. There were 4 À la carte restaurants(we tried every single one) and they were very different from one another and each had great tasting food, different from the buffet. Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great Resort

We had a lot of fun! The rooms were very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was as expected. There were lots of activities going on throughout the day at the main pool and beach. There were also two quiet pools if in need of a break. We would definitely go back.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Beautiful Resort

Our family went here for a destination wedding and it was amazing. Hats off to Simone and Catherine who did an absolutely fantastic job. The resort is beautiful, lots to do, amazing pools and oceanfront for snorkelling. The rooms above average. The buffets were great. The a al carte dinners are not so amazing but highly recommend the Italian. You could eat there every night. Karol thanks for arranging. Pineapple you make the resort - your energy and zest for life is contagious.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: 3 star resort at most

Rooms were dirty and worn. Holes in the walls - unfinished paint - cracks etc. We had a pull out bed for our kids and the mattress didn’t fit. They also didn’t have pillows. Food was decent for Cuba - but not enough selection. Nightly entertainment was terrible - very amateur. Beach was nice Staff were amazing - kids club girls were amazing

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Really nice resort!

Nice resort, very convenient. Everything is close by, rooms, pools, restaurants. The food was extremely amazing. A nice different variety of foods. The staff at resort were really friendly and helpful.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Best resort

We stayed 7 nights at the iberostar, there is literally nothing I can find as a con or negative about anything we experienced during our week. The resort grounds alone are enough to make me return! Can’t wait!

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Fabulous holiday!

This resort is lovely. The grounds and pools are well tended and it's obvious the staff work very hard to keep the public spaces and rooms as clean and as orderly as possible. They take pride in their work and it shows. The staff treat you well and are very friendly and accommodating. Regrettably, our room did not have hot water for two days, so the staff graciously transferred us to another room a few floors up. That was fine, except the elevators in that wing didn't always work, so we used t [... read more]he stairs more and used the elevators on the other end of the resort. It added more exercise to our routine, so rather than complain, we just made the best of it. Since the food in the all you can eat buffet was quite good, the exercise going up and down 7 or 9 floors (depending on where we were headed) was not begrudged. I read a lot of reviews about the food in Cuba before we went there, but we found that the food at this resort was quite delicious.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Incredible people made the resort so special!

This hotel was amazing. My niece and I spent one week and we met some very nice people. The staff here and the entertainment was awesome! Special thanks to Yurdanny (Jordan to us) for making our stay so much fun! And of course all the other pool crew! Beaches were nice and the food had lots of variety. I will highly recommend this resort!

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Great Return Trip to the Colonial

We've been to this resort many times since 2005 and even got married here. The staff we have grown to know are always first class and make us feel right at home. We were a bit concerned about recent reviews but our stay was great and the food was plentiful and very good. The resort is still struggling to repair the damage of the 2017 hurricane but certainly is getting there with an amazing beach and the palm trees and landscaping taking hold. This was our first time in Cuba and our first time at an all inclusive. It was a great experience all around for our family. The ease and comfort of not having to worry about anything was great and there were plenty of activities to keep you busy if you wanted. I believe that the resort did its best with quality of food for what the country has access to. There was a lot of different options of what to eat and if you went with fresh local fish you wouldn't be disappointed. We opted for the best value room and upon first glance the room wasn't amazing as compared to American standards but it was clean and comfortable and we were not there for the room. The beach was beautiful, the people friendly, the resort was clean and lovely. We had a great time. As long as you go to Cuba recognizing that you are getting the best resources that they have and that the country does suffer from its embargo's, you will feel grateful for the incredible experience and beauty of Cuba. And tipping goes a long way....
