Riu Guanacaste: Not a 5 star at all

Everything about this resort was average or below. Food you could live on it but that was all. There was 3 or 4 hotel staff that was really good..the rest of them never smiled or said really anything. The entertainment staff was non existent and the nightly show where pathetic. I have stayed at 3 other Rui and enjoyed them very much. I was looking so forward to Costa Rica and this hotel never even came close to a 4 star. I will probably never go to another Rui because of this hotel

Riu Santa Fe: Great time at Riu Santa Fe!

My boyfriend and I just came back from a 7 day stay at Riu Santa Fe and we had an amazing time. Check in was smooth and our room was beautiful, clean and up to date. The service at the resort was always good, staff was great. Everyone was always very attentive, helpful and polite. The themed pool parties were lots of fun! Entertainment made sure there was always something to do on the resort. The gym was always clean and it was quite spacious too, plenty of machines to chose from. My favourite p [... read more]art is the view this resort has on the beach area, it is absolutely stunning.. I would definitely go back. Also, the resort is less than a 10 minute drive to downtown.

Riu Vallarta: Fantastic Time at Riu

For my first trip out of the country, I was amazed by the food, service, room and the city itself. We were greeted kindly always and felt as if we were at home. I miss my trip and am planning to go back.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Beautiful Resort

Just returned on May 26, 2018. This was our 8th Mdxico vacation. The Riu Palace was by far the most luxurious resort.. The staff was very, very friendly. Food was amazing at a la cartes & the buffet.. Our room was very clean and spacious. We still can't explain the bath tub in the middle but??? Our only complaint was with the room balcony. We faced the sister Dunemar resort. The noise from the mechanical rooms made it impossible to sit outside. Riu Reggae: Favolous Resort

We been going to different Carribean resort, at Punta Cana, Mexico, to try other country, we choose Jamaica. Debating which resort we are going to stay, we end up choosing Riu to experience this hotel also. This is our first time in this hotel, so glad that we choose the RIGHT one! A special recognition to Jaguar, Hollywood, Spice, Lady Momo, Black Beauty, Spark, Jayjo ( not sure if this is correct), Fresh,and the rest of the entertainer. They are so talented and really showed the definition of Entertainment. My favourite show is the story of AFRICA and comedy show they did last Saturday, the end of our vacation. The Food, wow fresh and Authentic. Love the Jerk chicken they are serving at the beach. Sweet potatoes is real man! Love it. Room is always clean and organize. I forget the name of our housekeeper but she is very nice also. We are at the first floor of the right side of the lobby, it was very convenient, sound proof, steps away from the beach and pool. I can't think of any negative comment with my experience in Jamaica and in this hotel. Amaizing! Thank you all Reggae Staff and specially to entertainers. I love the way they come to Thank people after their performance specially Jaguar, me and my sister love her so much. She is kind and a very talented person, and very beautiful. Riu Republica: Amazing resort!

The resort offerts tons of options for pools, restaurants and drinks! We had an amazing time and we received amazing service. We would definitely recommend it to our family and friends. The maids were great and the staff is very friendly and professional.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Great family resort

We enjoyed our little family vacation at this resort. We travelled with our 14 month old and it was very kid friendly and accommodating. She had a blast! Beautiful and clean resort, pools were nice and perfect temperature. The pool delivery drink guys were great and quick with all drinks although we felt the drinks were very watered down yet delicious. Only down fall would be not being allowed to swim in front of the beach but really that is probably my only down fall that I can think of. We def [... read more]initely had a great time.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great resort!

I was at the Riu Playa blanca for a week with family members. In a nutshell, we had a great time. Note that the hotel is almost 2 hours away from Panama city. The beach, the pool and service was fantastic.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Very good and beautiful place

I really happy to went to Riu palace and l receievd Exellen serviece and perfect food and drink. Thanks RIU staff and front desk that help with friendly to every one. This place is quite and peacefull.clean and modern. I really enjoy of my vaction and is good also for family .

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Not what we expected for a Riu

Relatively small resort. The close proximity to Atlantis and all-inclusive package were the biggest factors in our decision to stay here. We have stayed at Riu hotels in the past (Mexico, Costa Rica) and have not been disappointed. This location however, was not on par with our expectations of the Riu chain. The hotel was very clean, but the food was just ok - excellent produce and salad bar, but hot foods were nothing to rave about. A la carte restaurants were an absolute joke. We tried three o [... read more]ut of four specialty restaurants at this resort, one of which we actually walked out on because the service was abysmal. Save yourself the time and disappointment, just go to the buffet, or order room service - seriously, you’ll get a way better meal. The service in general at this hotel had a moody, lazy vibe. No one really goes above and beyond, and bar/restaurant service is slow. Tipping doesn’t even seem to make a difference. After staying here, it makes sense now why this isn’t classed as a 5-star like other Riu Palace resorts. All in all, I would probably go back and/recommend to friends only because of the convenience and value. The food in Bahamas is expensive and everything has 12% VAT and 15% gratuity added on. Prices get pretty ridiculous - like $20 USD for two ice cream cones, $20 USD for a boxed salad, etc.

Riu Flamingos: A pleasant stay

RIU Jalisco is a great place to spend a relaxing week.The grounds and common areas are beautiful, spacious and clean.There appear to be plenty of loungers at the pools and beach. The staff are very pleasant and the food is great. One feature we really liked is that all restaurants are available on a first come first served basis.We never had a problem getting a seat at any restaurant. We chose a standard room which only had a couple of little chairs and a pub table. In future I would upgrade to  [... read more]a room with easy chairs or a sofa. The floor of the shower stall was very slippery; an accident waiting to happen.The Sunwing staff were at the resort every day and were very helpful.

Riu Palace Pacifico: Decent, but not a 5 star!

Where to start? We travel lots and LOVE the RIU Hotel chain. This was no different - we loved it as well. Grounds are kept immaculate, rooms cleaned whenever you need it to be basically... nice turn down service. Housekeeper was wonderful. Pools, and beach areas clean. Bar service is awesome, and extends to the beach as well, which is right behind the pool bar! Waiters come serve you on the beach. Fabulous service! Entertainment was so so... caught a couple of shows - Michael jackson, and Th [... read more]e Circus), but weren't going out of our way not to miss one LOL... (I wish the violinist was playing in the lounge) not just in or outside of the restaurant... I didn't like the fact that the pool bar closes at 6:30 - leaving a couple of options - the sports bar, or the lounge, and that the lounge entertainment ( a pianist/singer) left when the "show" started, and wasn't there every night. I felt the lounge should have ongoing entertainment for people who wanted to just chill and have some drinks. The buffet food was 3 star at best - very repetitive ALL week ( we were there for 2) and although you could always find something good to eat, it was not anything outstanding. I have to mention the Alonsio, our favorite server was amazing, however... the best server we have ever had! Look for him - his section is the one closest to the pasta station/ soup bread area. He's the best! The room was pretty nice, we were in an "oceanview junior" suite that also had a jetted tub. Problem was the tub was super narrow, and I am not a big girl, and essentially the whole jetted tub experience was non existent, because you have no room to move, and for the water to swish around.. so disappointing! The view was great, but - I have to say, we have stayed at the RIU Vallarta in a "partial ocean view" and the view THERE was better! The ocean view at RIU Palace is confined to between the inside edges of the hotel - because you are pushed back, whereas the partial ocean view had a better broader scope of the ocean! So, in a nutshell we would not pay extra for this suit again... we would go with a partial. To answer a few common questions: The beer in the room refrigerator which is stocked daily is Tecate Original. Also replenished daily is water, soft drinks, club soda etc. There is also Dos Equis, Tecate Light and Bohemia at the restaurants, lounge, sports bar. There is a coffee maker in the room - the coffee is also stocked daily. There is a magnifying mirror in the room about 3 Xs magnifying - so if you're eyes need something a bit stronger, be sure to bring your own. We would recommend it, yes, and we would go back - BUT we would likely go to the Varrata before this one. The Vallarta was just a funner experience over- all - we have been there twice. Love this stretch of beach!

Riu Palace Antillas: Awesome Place!!

The hotel was fantastic. The food was amazing. Service was great friendly people and I quote “one happy island”. Would go again in a heartbeat. Rooms and and hotel service was great too they upgraded us cause of our honeymoon free of charge.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Amazing resort

It was clean, the staff was great, the food was excellent, the beach was fantastic, I can’t say anything wrong about this resort I would definitely go back, the shopping in the city was close by , the night life was excellent casino was amazing

Riu Bambu: Very good

The Riu Bambu was very nice , it was a mix of younger , older people which made it a great mix , and had something for everybody . It was very lively, a lot of entertainment , pool party’s and the staff were very friendly and approachable .

Riu Negril: Great resort

Great resort for the most part. could use elevators for the third level rooms, as a long climb at the end of the day! No coffee makers in standard rooms and a long walk to the Sports bar....only place for coffee in the morning other than in the buffet. Those are the only complaints, great beach, entertainment, food and staff were all fantastic! Would go again in a heartbeat! Everything Irie !

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Great few days.

We had a great trip. The resort is wonderful, the service was friendly and attentive. Food was good and the coffee was wonderful. Pool had its share of floating bugs but these things happen, nothing that ruined the trip.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Amazing!

Riu never disappoints. Perfect place to go if you want to relax but If you wish to party the staff will truly put effort. Whether it’s the staff at buffets, bars or the beach they are so accommodating & kind! We were a group of 4 girls on a girls trip and we had a blast! Thank you all for an amazing time! ❤️

Riu Yucatan: Great family vacation!

We just came back from a 9 day trip to Riu Tequila and we cant wait to go back. We travelled with our teenage daughters and stayed in two room side-by-side and we all loved our stay. The rooms were spacious and renovated, and had everything we needed. We were glad that we booked 2 rooms since the shower was see-through:) the hotel was a lot of fun with friendly stuff, great food and a lot of activities for everyone. Foam parties, aqua gym, aerobics ...the entertainment team was excellent. My hus [... read more]band and I are runners, and we were able to run In playacar on the 5.6km loop around the area, which was very scenic and safe. The hotel is also walking distance to playa del carmen:) We will definitely be back!

Riu Palace Aruba: for the price the best value on palm beach

hotel was spotless,grounds well maintained,public areas well looked after,rooms were beautiful,dining selection was a lot more than expected eg.carving station for breakfast turkey etc.great variety for all meals Hope you don't need them but free crutches,wheel chairs,scooters etc. Forth trip to aruba and our stay may 6 to 13 at Riu Palace Aruba was overall the best.
