VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Had a fantastic time!

I traveled at the end of January 2019 to this hotel with my 23 year old daughter. It was a most relaxing vacation. The resort is small enough to walk easily from the rooms to the pool, food areas, and the beach. There was never a shortage of beach or pool chairs which was nice, but there are still those travelers who think its ok to leave towels on chairs and not come sit on them until 5 hours later! I was impressed by how often the pool staff tested, measured and maintained the quality of the pool water. Overall, we had no complaints and would definitely return to this resort.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Our home away from home

Yes, we are repeat guests. Love this resort mostly for the awesome beach, price and the fact we can comfortably go across the street watch great baseball or walk in to town or to Sosua beach and vendors. The food is good and hot. Could use a bit more variety. I am sure we will be back! happy guest kathy

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Great Resort

Very nice resort but not suitable for Elderly or disabled very good food lots to do staff very good and plenty of staff did not get bothered by time shares which was good my room was in a bad spot not able to open curtain was right in front of where the time share people pick up there golf carts when we had concerns they were looked after immediately and not Dominican time lol we travelled with 14 in our group surprised by another 28 then the following week another 14 all in all had a great time [... read more] lots of shits and giggles

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: THE RESORT WAS VERY GOOD AS WAS THE BEACH AND POOL

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Pretty good, but I prefer Cuba

The entertainment was fabulous Staff were very friendly Food was only fair Went to a seafood restaurant & had severe diarrhea & vomiting almost as soon as I got back to my room After that I really didn't have much appetite

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Senator Puerto Plata

This resort is a gem in the making. When the renovations are completed, it will be one of the most beautiful holiday destinations that I have been in. The food was good and the coffee, ice cream and bakery shops are an added bonus.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Fabulous Resort!

Just returned from the Be Live Marian in Puerto Plata. I have to say I was very impressed with it. The resort is on the smaller side which is great,everything was within walking distance. The staff was amazing from the front lobby, to the bartender’s, to the restaurant servers, to the cleaning staff. Nothing was a problem for any of them! They were great. We went and upgraded to the VIP ADULT Section, which was closer to the beach,it was well worth the extra. They give you your beach towels, housecoats, slippers, filled up your fridge everyday with 4 bottles of pop, 2 Pepsi, 2 7Up, 4 small cans of Coors Light, and 2 bottles of Water. Also when in the VIP Section they leave you a bottle of Champagne and 2 champagne glasses.They also leave coffee everyday. They change your towels every evening,and turn down your bed! We will definitely go back to this resort. The Buffet Restaurant was good, you also have a VIP Section in the Buffett. We have no complaints on the food, the only Al-Carte Restaurant that we went to was Mylos, it was Mediterranean. It was my husband’s birthday that evening and the staff at Mylos brought out a small dessert with candles and sang Happy Birthday! That was nice of them. Again the staff there were fantastic! Also just wanted to say that the Sunwing Rep Heriberto who was in the front lobby all week was just amazing, and Caroline from Guest Services. As I said they helped with any questions you had. So ThankYou to them all for making our vacation so special.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Great Resort!

We loved everything about this resort. Although it is still not completely renovated, it was great. There were 2 a la carte restaurants open. There is 2 more coming soon. The Steak house was excellent also the Italian. The buffet was also very good. The staff was wonderful in every aspect of the resort. Always attentive to your needs and making sure you enjoyed your vacation. The wifi was excellent. The beds and pillows comfy and new. The beach is not huge, but we are pool people and the pool area was great.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing resort

Great job on the renovation beds were nice and comfortable only down fall was we ran out of hot water around 5:00 every night the steak house was awsome but they under cook the beacon so we went down to the playabachata for breakfast We definitely be going back again just loved this place

We loved it, it was a bit modern for our normal taste but we absolutely loved it! It was fresh, crisp,clean and the people were amazing!! The Employees treated us excellent and made it fun. The food was great and lots of choices. The beach awesome, the pools greats and rooms nice and comfy!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Some things to know...

Overall the hotel was beautiful and well organized, with delicious food, engaging entertainment, and stunning beach and pool. My only recommendation is to bring a lock for your luggage to store important items, as 1000 pesos ($33 CA) of mine mysteriously went missing, and we left the Do Not Disturb sign up yet the maid still came in to clean. My other tip is to ask for blankets if you need them to sleep like I do, or else it’s just a sheet. Thankfully reception is open 24 hours (but there are  [... read more]no room phones so get ready to walk). Lastly, the shower heads were pretty broken, and the water wouldn’t heat nor drain. Also, my friend had trouble with her toilet flushing. Like I say, it was overall an enjoyable experience, just be aware of details such as these to prepare for! Happy vacationing!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great Time, good food.

This hotel is dated inside the rooms, but we are not here to stay inside. Our safe did not work, the phone did not work. you can clearly see it is in need of repair, but when you are just there to sleep it is fine. Beds were comfortable. Food was good, they have a great selection at the buffet. The A la carts were amazing. The beach buffet chicken was a hit and many times would be out and have to wait for a fresh batch.. but worth the wait. The pool and beach, people hog the chairs/beds.. we not [... read more]iced that people went and put towels at the beach and were at the pool. But were still holding both spots. if you talk to the security guard on the beach they will get someone to get you chairs. The locals pushing sales on the beach are annoying when you are trying to relax. All saying they made these products when you know that they did not. The time share/Circleone guys are just as bad when you are trying to walk around the resort. But over all it was a nice visit. The bars, need to be addressed, the one in the lobby is always dead, as it is Paying bar.. and the pool bar service is SLOW.. and the other bar does not open until 6pm, when the pool bar closes. the beach bar is where most ppl end up for service, and that should be addressed. So there is only 2 bars at this resort for everyone

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great place for price.

Room was a third floor walk up which was updated nicely. A/C and fridge worked great, closet was big and warm and great for drying wet stuff. No musty smell which was a bonus considering age of complex. Grounds were kept very neat and clean. Food was excellent, drinks were good, service was quick and friendly. Bar staff could have been more plentiful at beach bar and pool bars. Beach was beautiful and loungers were plentiful. Could have used more facecloths when towels were changed. Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Pleased

BlueBay was just as I expected! The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exactly what we wanted. There was a quite a mixture of entertainment for everyone of every age! The staff worked hard to engage and encourage participation. The downsides are the circle one reprsentatives hounding you everytime you passed by one, and the peddlers on the beach who would constantly try to sell you their goods even when you firmly declined! Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Great Resort

The Senator resort is not yet fully finished with its renovations but that being said it is a great place to relax and enjoy, very modern and sleek. Once fully complete (in another 6 months) the place will be fabulous. The rooms were clean, tidy and updated with extra amenities. The food at the buffet was very good and that says something considering that I had to eat gluten free. The two a la carte restaurants also had excellent food and good options. A couple more restaurants will be opening soon. The staff were all friendly and very willing to assist and serve. I would definitely recommend this resort for a great vacation.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Ok

Stayed here 2 years ago and liked it enough to go back. It’s not quite as good as it was. Food is ok, maybe above average but nothing to write home about. Entertainment is ok too, they did more 2 years ago, more interactive. Clean and well run. 3.5/5 stars.

Playabachata Hotel: Great Resort

This hotel although older is well maintained and kept very clean the food is above average and the service is great especially Maria Linda who always went out of her way at the buffet every morning to talk and be sure we had everything we needed. The alacarts could be improved just my opinion especially the Italian one I found it quite lacking but others may have loved it. All in all for the price a wonderful place to rest and holiday. A heated pool would be a nice touch.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great Vacation

Great hotel, pool and beach! Nice size resort - great for families! Animation group were amazing - mosquito and chuwawa are the best! The Mexican and Brazilian al a cart restaurants were amazing too!! Bars only had one bartender at times which cause long line ups but the staff were all great! Will definitely go back again!!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Excellent Resort

The hotel and rooms were very clean, Grounds were very well kept, Food was excellent and shows were good. Very easy to get around since it is a smaller resort. Jackie at the quiet pool always made our day. Amazing Lady. Would definitely return.
