Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Amazing experience in paradise!

Majestic Colonial did not disappoint in any way. Food was fantastic across the board. The resort grounds were always clean, staff was friendly, and our butler Darel was especially helpful. Evening entertainment was enjoyable, and if you're a beach person, the beach area was top notch.

Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach: I would not recommend this resort

This resort is crowded the food is all served cold .Lights in my room went off and on all night for days .Terrible smell in bathroom. Long line ups at pool side bar as there is no bar at beach so they come to the pool bar. Most employees very rude the only service is the bar ,room and alacartes that where pleasant .There was 14 of us on this trip and half of us had stomach issues It was rated as a 4.1 when we booked it's more like a 2.3 at most

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Excellent

The grounds and pool areas very clean. Room was great. Had a great time at the slide park area. Buffet, snack truck and pizza shoppe all excellent. Would be good to have more snack trucks through out the resort to help with line ups.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: BP Ambar was a great resort

The resort grounds, beach and pool were all outstanding. Ambar guests have access to everything at all resorts, except their buffets. Food was very good. Staff keep beach and pool clean. Beds were a bit uncomfortable.

Ocean El Faro: Ocean el faro overview

The lobby is absolutely gorgeous. The bar tenders there are knowledgeable. The rooms were spacious, clean, up to date. Absolutely loved the swinging hammock, though not all rooms came with them. Buffet had lots of good variety and mixed it up every night. Baked goods were awesome. No shortage of bacon. Though sometimes finding a clean table and cutlery was difficult if you didn't arrive within the first hour. The a la cartes were awesome. The bar tenders there were friendly and conversational. A drink menu would have been cool to have. Some annoying sellers who stayed close to the lobby were on us daily. Over all we would go back!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Beautiful Grounds

We have been to BP Ambar Bouganville Esmeralda and Aquamarine 7 different times. We wrote them asking for a certain room and to say it was our anniversary trip and got nothing while many people did. The resort is getting old and tired. Entertainment is good. At the buffet it was hard to find a clean table and for some reason never had teaspoons, had to ask. The lobby bar ca [... read more]n get quite busy due to bartenders joking around and singing. It’s quite entertaining but not when there’s 20 people in line, I could see everyone getting frustrated. They used to put coasters under your drinks but I guess they cut back. Having a cold drink and water dripping from glass onto your clothes. Bring bug spray, came home with dozens of bites. I saw many people with bites.

Occidental Punta Cana: Beautiful

The resort was very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. The Food was good, especially breakfast and dinners . The beaches were clean, the waters were so clear and colorful. The sand was powder under your feet. You could walk for miles. It was spectacular! The value was really good. I would recommend anyone to go there.

TRS Cap Cana Hotel: Disappointment

Outside grounds were clean, neat & well landscaped, but the rooms are a major letdown. The resort bills itself as 5 star but the rooms are no better than 3 star at best. New mattresses and a dash of paint over past bestbefore date everything. Our 1st room had a noisy A/C fan, a bar fridge that didn't work, & a bathroom that looked worn out and dingy. For an extra $700+ we were able to upgrade somewhat(same jr. suite, but with a swim up pool). Food was generally good, with a reasonable v [... read more]ariety of dishes. Staff were very friendly, but poorly trained in alot of cases, forgetting to bring drinks, etc. My wife developed food poisoning on about the 5th day which ruined the balance of our vacation. We never left the resort, so we know the issue was on site.

Serenade Punta Cana Beach and Spa Resort: Awesome family stay

The master suite has an excellent amount of space for our family of 5. The room was clean, spacious, and the beds were comfortable. Shower pressure was excellent! The staff were so friendly, always kept the mini fridge stocked, and were helpful. The food st the restaurants and buffet were great! We spent so much time in the pools and loved the beach… no complaints! We’ll be back!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great stay

This vacation was alot Better the only thing i noticed is that we were returning vacation and didn’t receive any perks they talk about, but hopefully when we return next year it will be different. We were also told about the renavations that were done to one side of The resort so we are hoping next year we will have the chance to experience those. The Food was great you never went hungery and there was a wide variety of selections and the derests were So good and we tried many of them. VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: OK resort

The grounds of the resort was well kept. The rooms were dated but clean and the beds comfortable. The staff were friendly and kind. The staff made the resort. Always pleasant and helpful. Food was good at the buffet. The evening entertainment wasn't too my liking.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Clean resort, good service, not-so good food, terrible golf course

Between a 3 star to 4 star. Jumped on a Black Friday deal. Check-in was verrrry long when we arrived at 10:30pm as there was a single guy working and a family of 10 was trying to check in under special negotiated pricing. An hour later of waiting patiently, we checked in within minutes. Oceanview room in Building 8 is spectacular and clean. Great view from the balcony. No noise, no loud music and no little kids. The Reserve has two very nice adult pools, bar, and beach front with plenty  [... read more]of palapas. Compared to Iberostar Grand, the Reserve is newer, cleaner and better. But the Grand is better for food and golf (note though that this is pre-COVID comparison and have not returned to the Grand since 2020....the Grand value and food were in decline as well which is why we have not returned there). Sante for breakfast and lunch are good. However, all dinners are by reservation only except for the one buffet, Lunch Box. Flora/Dominican was excellent. Mexican was gross and terrible where some dishes used the liquid orange cheese like in sports stadiums. Italian is bearable. Sante is good but not great as food and soups came lukewarm. Steakhouse was okay for my sirloin but my wife's veal was tough more like a flank steak (I realise that one does not go to the DR for steak). Not sure what the Grand Cana is like but the Reserve is supposedly the Paradisus top level. Beach is what we go to the PC for and is beautiful white sand and the resort folks serve you well. Unfortunately the ocean is horribly littered with plastic and there are many boats, yachts, (very loud motors and loud & bad Caribbean music). etc….perhaps the source of all that plastic as it is not as prevalent at other hotel beach fronts in PC? I would NOT recommend the Cocotal Golf (sure I am playing golf in January). It is pricey even at the discounted $127 USD if you are staying at the resort ($220 regular if you don’t and trust me, you shouldn’t as there are other nicer courses). Everything is extra charges - practice balls are all cracked, etc. I’ve golfed all over and do realize one will pay more to play at a resort. But this course is a joke. Distance markers (red, white, blue) are inconsistent, dog crap, cyclists and non-golfer walkers (signs all over prohibiting dogs and walkers but I guess the condo and home have more power) are on the course, putting greens are scruffy and inconsistent, carts are older and more worn out than at a local public city-run $25 golf course, sand (no rakes cuz more like cement bunkers) is rarity in the bunkers, but luckily good weather, water, fertilizer and very liberal use of herbicide (spraying something while golfers playing) allows the fairways to be acceptable. Melia seems to be building new condos on the course and will have spend big $$$$$$ to improve the course. Maybe that’s why resort tourists are getting gouged for golf. At check-out, the concierge asked my opinion and quickly filled in the blanks on the food, so it must be a common complaint. I might return to give the Reserve another chance as beginning January is still the “quiet” time but likely not. Will try another resort.

Princess Family Club Bavaro: Family Club Fun!

The family club area was perfect for our vacation with 8 family members aged 2-78. The family buffet was the perfect size for breakfast and lunch. Kids enjoyed the pool and water park. Overall the grounds had beautiful greenspace and natural areas. The main pool and beach is very far from the family club. Taking the trolly made the trip enjoyable.

Occidental Punta Cana: Occidental punta cana

I found that the resort was very well maintained and I was very happy with the accommodations, the pools and the food as buffets and restaurants. The beach was beautiful and unlike my first visit years ago going to a beach was not pleasant since vendors never stopped bothering people but this trip I found even with more vendors, that they all took a no for an answer and moved on without incidents. I only wish that when our flight was cancelled that they would have the ability to allow use of t [... read more]he room till later, we were able to keep 1 room for 4 extra hours at a cost of 10.00 an hour but our bus was only due 2010 but then flight was cancelled and we were stuck in the lobby with a very large crowd due to rain and then very loud music and very warm

Riu Bambu: Ok resort

The hotel was clean .Way too much walking to get around.nice pools.The food was not great.one of the restaurant s the food was too salty.the service could be better.drinks were good.Did not like the taste of their beer

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Wonderful holiday!

I will start off by saying we had no expectations. Therefore, we ended up having a great time even-though we did experience the odd bump or two. Some the resort could control and some not so. First we found the resort extremely clean. Staff for the most part was very friendly. We didn’t try the specialty restaurants. We found the buffet good. Drinks for the most part were very inconsistent from the pool to Legends. Legends is the party bar. Entertainment was fine. One thing I was disappointed in was the lack of shade around the pool. Palm trees being trimmed made for a lack of shade. But the most annoying was trying to get a lounger. If you were not at the pool by 5:30 am to snag a chair with shade and preferred spot you were out of luck. With so much space around the pools they easily put out more lounges to accommodate guests. I will end by saying this is a very nice resort. As I started off we had no expectations. Keep in mind it’s not a five star resort! Great value with no bells and whistles. Cheerful midsize resort that’s easy to get around and that’s why we will return same time next year!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: No Complaints

There was an ample selection of food, whatever your diet might be. If you are a vegetarian, you might not enjoy the Greek restaurant as they have a very limited vegetarian menu. The other restaurants were great. The grounds were immaculate. Everywhere, employees were raking, cleaning glass and tending to customers. On either side of the resort were long stretches of beach, perfect for walking. I chose this place because I wanted to snorkel off of the beach. There were many rocks, and one cou [... read more]ld see brightly coloured fish. Unfortunately, the water was often silty, which blurred the view through my mask. There are strong currents within the protected swimming area, so one needs to be careful. The entertainment crew led a variety of fun activities. The music was almost always on, but if you wanted a quieter area, there was another pool, much smaller, where one could have a quiet escape. I discovered a lovely little park with swinging chairs, a small pond with waterfalls and then a boardwalk across the creek. The hotel doesn't own most of this creek, but it would be to the hotel's and the environment's advantage if they cleaned it up and developed it as a walking/hiking area. The creek must attract all sorts of interesting wildlife. It was fun to spot the different types of birds and vegetation. Some of the tall trees were labelled as perhaps they were unusual. The small cats running around were enjoyed by many children and adults. Here, I think it would be very helpful if they caught the male cats and sterilised them.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Not a good experience

The room wasn’t ideal, had to change the room situation. The room wasn’t clean, it was outdated, shower was overflowing, lock on the door was broken. Definitely make sure you get a better room. Food and entertainment was decent.

Occidental Punta Cana: Excellent service and value for dollar

The hotel and all other facilities were always very clean and maintained constantly and consistency. A la carte mmeals were very good. We especially liked seafood and steak venues and service. Great beach and fine clean pools.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Amazing resort

This resort was incredible. Friendly staff in all areas. Property is clean and beautiful from the front entrance to the beach. Rooms are clean. Food was great in every restaurant we ate in. Any chance issues at all were dealt with immediately. We saw the negative reviews before we went but glad we didn’t listen to them and had a great time !!!
