Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Beautiful resort!

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous grounds, landscaping, pool areas. Excellent security.. felt very safe within this gated property. Excellent food, good service, staff always smiling and courteous. Great to see smart lighting in some of the public washrooms as well as recycling/composting facilities. Negatives were there was an annoying noise outside our room due to a loose railing or some other structural problem so had to wear earplugs to sleep every night. Were told only ONE all inclusive wine was available in red or white and were encouraged to choose premium wines instead.. seriously!?? Pool service was generally good but could have been better; often had to wait 30 to 60 minutes for a server to take our drink order. Spa was overpriced. Dined at the international buffet a couple of times on my own as my friend was ill. As a single diner I was not always provided with the same level of service as couples or groups, often being ignored for several long spells. All customers, whether with dining companions or not, should be provided with excellent service. Overall though, very pleased with this resort and would recommend to family, friends and colleagues.

Royal Suites Punta Mita: Best birthday ever!

It was very relaxing, clean and great service. The entertainment was always a nice bonus. I especially love how eco-friendly the resort is. I'm definitely going to tell many other people and recommend to all

Tropicana Hotel: Great hotel, great location, however........

Property, rooms and location are great. The hotel is not geared to children which I found ideal. My only disappointment was after the hotel operator made a telephone call for me and again later for my partner. I suspect that the hotel operator understood the words 'direct call' instead of 'collect call'. The double error cost us $100. The hotel manager later confirmed that the hotel does not make 'collect calls'. Had we gone to the internet cafe to make two 25 minute calls to Visa and Tang [... read more]erine, it would have cost us well under $10. We will return next year and hope to bring our friends.

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Fun Resort

This is our 2nd time there. It is a small older resort but they are always renovating. The rooms need work but they are always clean and the beds and pillows are comfy. There is only one pool but always lots of room. The night life after dinner shus down around 10:30pm as there are rooms all around the pool bar. You can still drink at the bar but quietly. If you want more partying you can always catch the town bus ( bus stop just up the street ). Or a cab to the malecon where there is always hap [... read more]pening bars. The grounds are well kept with beautiful gardens. The staff are so friendly and helpful if you need anything. The ocean is less than a 5 minute walk or they have a shuttle that will take you. There is always something to eat, the food is good. They have theme nights for dinner. One night is Mexican, one night is seafood and they always have a BBQ night which is amazing. If you don't like theme food, there is always other food you can pick from. You never go hungry. I like this resort because it is so small that you meet so many amazing people that become friends. Caesar is the manager who always has a huge smile and always asking if everything is ok. He is a super man 😃 I can't wait for next year. If you are a picky person I wouldn't recommend this resort for you, but if your laid back and easy going it's friendly and a lot of fun.

Samba Vallarta: Great Resort.

If you are expecting a five star resort, Samba Vallarta is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a very good resort, with friendly and customer oriented staff, Samba is a great choice. The hotel is a bit dated, but it is clean and has most amenities. Samba does not nickle and dime you. There are many complementary accessories available.The beach is amazing. The pool is very good, but some tiles have fallen off. Spent a week there, and would definitely go back.

Velas Vallarta: Loved Staying at Velas Vallarta

We just returned from a 7-day stay at the Velas Vallarta. We have stayed in the PV area many times at different hotels and this is definitely our favorite so far. Located in the Marina Vallarta area, the hotel was within walking distance of the Marina and all of its "many" restaurants, bars and shops. The service was truly amazing - in all areas - full happy, smiling service at the pool and beach as well as the restaurants. We had been upgraded to a king size suite and loved our room. Our ki [... read more]tchen was completely stocked with water, pop, beer, milk in the fridge as well as various breakfast and snack items and coffee/tea. Our room was very clean with a beautiful view of the lovely grounds and pools (seventh floor - Room 2712). The beds were more comfortable than ours at home and the room temperature was perfect for sleeping. We spent most of our time at the pool but enjoyed the beach as well. Our only complaint was about having to get up early to save a pool chair and then watch other chairs that were saved before us sit empty all day (happened a few times). There was a nice swim-up bar at the one pool but we did not use it much as our pool side service (beverages and food) was excellent. There were two ala carte restaurants for supper (one of those also served breakfast/lunch) for which you needed reservations and one all day buffet. The food was tasty in all but we found the buffet did not vary much in their offerings from day to day (unless you ordered from the menu - every night was a different theme). There was a lobby bar where there was various entertainment every night. Sunday night was a Mexican fiesta in a large conference room and we found the food that night was disappointing. The entertainment involving the audience at times was excellent. We caught a bus (7.50 pesos per person) right outside our hotel to go to downtown PV and had a wonderful evening out on the Saturday night.

Royal Suites Punta Mita: Very attentive Staff!

We stayed on the Adult only side of the resort. We loved the lobby bar and Luciano, the bartender. The restaurant there had delicious entrees and you can order things that are not on the menu daily. If you're a wine lover the wines are disappointing. The house wine is (putting it kindly) not drinkable. Good drinks (top shelf brands)at all of the bars though and the pool. Our room makeup s [... read more]ervice was a little slow on some days but very comfortable overall. Nice bathroom products and hair dryer. Beautiful floral arrangements in the lobby. Bathrooms all over the resort were clean and well stocked. There is a sewage smell in certain places on the resort in the evening.

Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: Good value, location and great staff!

We really had a good time at the resort. The location is close to downtown PV, so we were able to walk, bus or taxi and explore. We took some small bus trips to Sayulita and Punta de Mita as well. The food was ok, with some great fish and shrimp tacos, but wasn't amazing. Lots of fresh fruit and veg and fish if you are trying to eat healthily. Samba Vallarta: Lovely

At first, when we arrived in the middle of the night and the room was a bit "rustic" and the safe didn't work, I was nervous about how our week would go. But the light of day brought a lovely, smaller resort with nice people, gardens, pool, food, drinks and most of all, beach--right on the "swimmable" ocean! Not a 5 star resort, but very relaxing.

Grand Marival Emotions Resort and Suites: Trouble in Paradise

Trip central was very helpful We missed our flight arrived at the airport 40 minutes before the flight took off due to a 7 car accident on a bridge we had to cross but Transat would not take us. We purchased a one way ticket from another airline for the next morning as we would have to wait three days for Transat and we were going to attend a 65th Birthday had to spend a night in hotel close to airport as we live to far from town to take a chance. Riu Palace Pacifico: Nice grounds, good food, generally great service, rest ok-ish...

Grand but tired hotel. Food good. Junior suite had 2 beds pushed together. Beds comfortable, room tired. Pool pretty, beach very good, only one bar for all so under services pool and beach ~ impacts rating. One bathroom for restaurants, pool and beach ~ impacts rating. 30 min walk to edge of Bucerias, 25 min by taxi or hour by bus (2 stops) to Nuevo Vallarta.

Crown Paradise Club: Nice Family Reaort

We had a nice stay at the Crown Paradise Club from February 17th to February 24th, 2017. The rooms are slightly dated but they were clean. The food was good but it was never very warm. The three a la cartes were delicious. You had to book your a la cartes restaurants from the phone in your room and could only book them the day of or the next day. Reservations were only booked each day from 8am to 2pm. The hotel was a ten minutes drive from the airport, which was nice. There were two pools and on [... read more]e kid's play area (a pirate ship). We spent our time in one of the pools that was fairly shallow. It was filled with kids! Perfect if you have young ones.

Royal Suites Punta Mita: Great time !

We have been to quite a few all inclusive resorts but by far the staff at the Royal Suites, and the Grand Palladium in general, were absolutely the best ! Genuinely happy and no request too small. The lobby bar bartender, Luciano, was awesome. The grounds were very well kept, rooms large and clean. All amenities available and water sports equipment in good condition. Again, staff always available and happy to help or provide instructions. Very safe area - even taking the local bus into Bucari [... read more]as we never felt uncomfortable. All tours were excellent and transportation organized and efficient. The only things we felt could be improved or needing to be considered were the noisy carts early in the morning rattling down the ribbed concrete - they started as early as 4:30 - and even with the balcony door closed they could be heard. Also, at some times there was a nasty odour in the air - not sure if it was a septic issue or just stagnant water around. Seemed to be more on the suites side. And, we were very disappointed with the wine. Even the wines on the additional charge menu were very poor selections. Perhaps a good wine sommelier should be consulted. Other than that, we fully enjoyed our time at the Royal Suites Punta de Mita !

Grand Palladium Vallarta: grand palladium Feb 6 /15 2017

The hotel was fantastic . The food, the rooms every thing was as a 5 star hotel should be. The ala carte were fantastic, enjoyed the steak house the most. The only small complaint were the amount of stairs .If your a senior or have any mobility issues then stay else were. I lost count of the times helping people with baby buggies . There are no elevators the resort is about 50 min from Vallarta with little or no buses .

Sheraton Buganvilias Puerto Vallarta Hotel: Great Resort

This resort is in a great location, a short walk to the Malacon. We had a terrace room and although we didn't really have a view of the ocean, it was nice to be able to sit outside. The food was good. The pool area was busy but it was nice to be able to order from the menu at lunch and have it brought to us as we lounged around the pool. I had to get up at 6:30 to secure spots at the pool where we would get maximum sun all day long. The beach was a bit of a disappointment as the sand was hard and rocky. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend and return to this resort.

Costa Club Punta Arena: Not without it's flaws - but a great stay none the less!

Costa Club presents an amazing opportunity for discount travellers to indulge in a all inclusive experience while being able to explore the heart of Downtown Vallerta. Pros: Price Location (close to airport, restaurants, beaches, etc) Clean Pools Friendly Staff Cons: Beach (rocky, high tides, etc) Food (lack of variety, kids under 11 are not allowed to eat at their Italian restaurant) No fridge in room Wi-Fi (barely accessible) Shows (most of the nights they only have Karaoke [... read more] - attendance is often less than 5 people) Ongoing construction around pools (noise, etc) Overall, I had a great stay. The location of this hotel gave me the opportunity to explore and make the most of my vacation. This is a 3 star hotel - don't go expecting a 5. The food is edible, the rooms are clean, the beer is cold and for the most part the sun is shinning, I would return. A waking dream of Mexico - until next time!

Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: Good location and great staff!

We had not been to Puerto Vallarta before and were looking for an inexpensive but decent all-inclusive. This one fit the bill since we were happy with the meals (excellent 'a la carte' dinners), the rooms were adequate (not palatial), there was a tennis court, exercise room, 3 pools, activities if you were interested (Spanish lessons, kayaking, water exercises, dance lessons, etc.) and very good evening entertainment. The best thing about it was the pleasant staff - no request was too big or t [... read more]oo small and every single staff member you met in the resort would give you a smile and an 'Ola!'. It was in a good location for banks, groceries, small stores, larger shopping mall and the Malecon - all within walking distance but if you aren't up to a good walk, it didn't cost more than 80 MXN for a taxi to the Marina or Malecon. Be prepared to walk as some of the rooms are quite a ways from the front desk (which we liked-quieter and more privacy) The bigger hotel we had access to was beachfront, so it was easy to get to the beach as well. All-round, a good place to be for a relaxing, easy time.

Riu Vallarta: I'm open to try a different Riu Hotel

The Hotel lobby was open and clean. The room where average, nothing special, smelled like mildew in the room. The bed was very uncomfortable, hard, and springs poking through the mattress, and only 3 small lumpy pillows. I went down and talked with staff at the desk the very next morning and inquired about another room. The lady behind the desk was very rude. She said, "what's wrong with you lady, your on the 8th floor!'' I told her that bed was the issue not the 8th floor. Then she said there w [... read more]ere no rooms available. The food was average for an all inclusive, the a la cart were not managed well-the manager said it was first come first serve, so I went and grabbed my friends within 2 minutes and returned back to Sir Georges and he said they were full. He did give me a puck and it lit up about 2 hours later. I wish he would have just gave me a puck right away. The buffet cafés had birds flying in out, at least 80% of the food was covered. I developed irritable bowel syndrome at this hotel, and took another week to recover. There were 2 pools , clean, one was family centered, hard to find a spot unless you woke at 6 am. I found that the bar tenders ignored the women and not the men when ordering drinks. There was plenty of entertainment every day at the pool and just about every night . People were hooting and hollering every night up to 2 a.m. So excellent place to stay if you enjoy the night life.

Riu Vallarta: Beautiful Resort!

Riu Vallarta is a truly unique experience. The hotel is fabulous. Our room was perfect. Lovely view of the pool area, grounds and of course the most amazing sunsets! The staff are all super friendly and very helpful. They offer a variety of entertainment options throughout the day as well as evening shows. The food in the restaurants is really good, again offering great choices between 3 restaurants and a fantastic buffet, not to mention the bar(s) and lounges.

Grand Marival Emotions Resort and Suites: Marival resort

I love this place, but how do you book the same hotel 6 years in a row and get the same shitty view 5 of those years. I realize we are not in the room very long each day, but it would be nice not to have to look at the wall and propane tank sometimes. Also we had two super single beds in the room. We are a couple, we booked as a couple and would like to sleep as a couple. The other couples we booked with had a king size. We have never had one.
