Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: awesome vacation

We spent a week at this beaufiful resort the first week of March 2018. It was the first time we visited this resort and we will be back next year. The resort is beautiful and the Cubans need to be congratulated on the work they have done to restore this area after the hurricane of 2017. The food was very good....we have been to Cuba resorts 13 times previously, so know what to expect of the food. The beach is amazing with plenty of cover for those who love shade. We love snorkelling, and found some fish off the beach, however, taking a Hobie Cat out to the large reef is the best thing to do. There were 4 of us on the "Cat" and we went out with 2 other boats......beautiful reef and amazing fish to be seen. We purchased the "Diamond Club" and it was well worth it.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: The Best of Cuba

All 17 of us enjoyed our stay at Scantuary Grand Memories and can’t wait to return back next year. The food was the best we ever had in Cuba. We were very surprised with the presentation of our dinners nightly. Every night there was a different menue based on a country! We had a variety of live entertainment every night in our bar lounge and by the pool side. I would differently rate this a 5 star for Adults. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great family fun with awesome beach and animation staff

Memories Flamenco Cayo Coco is a fun resort that is dedicated to service and ensuring everyone has a good time. The grounds are well maintained and the beach superb. The pools were larger than expected and my kids spent all day there enjoying meeting other kids, playing crazy games put on by the animation staff and watching all the other fun activities planned. As an adult that loves to  [... read more]dance and practice my Spanish, I enjoyed Zumba everyday at the pool, and chatting with all the bartenders and animation staff. The theatre shows were entertaining and the professional dancers were very good, though the show started too late at 930 and they could have removed the pre-show to start the real show earlier. Best bartenders at the pool bar were Aris and Orlando. Daily at the small poolside mojito bar made killer mojitos. At night, Yoel made yummy Spanish coffees at his coffee cart. The food and drinks were decent for Cuba. We ate in the buffet every meal but appreciated the grill bar at the pool for lunch bites. Only cons is that the rooms are dated and the bathtub was slippery. We had to request extra small beds for the kids a couple times before they arrived. Also, in order to get pool or beach chairs you have to be up and reserve them before 730 am which is annoying on vacation. There are chair guys that will help bring chairs from other places (if they are still available of course).

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Disappointed

The grounds of the resort are very attractive and maintained well. Workers are continually cleaning. Public bathrooms are a disaster. Either not available or they are stinky and not cleaned well. Many little ants crawling on everything in our room. I advised the maid and she did her best but they always reappeared. The airport upon our arrival was a disaster. 5 flights arrived at the same time and the personnel did nothing to stop the flow of people trying to get through security. We spent an ho [... read more]ur and half trying to get through and when we did, we had to try and find our luggage along with 3,000 other people. This airport is too small to accommodate the number of tourists arriving and departing, as we had the same problem leaving. This resort does not have enough shade umbrellas on the beach to accommodate the number of guests staying here. I had to be up at 4.30 am everyday to secure shade. I am totally exhausted from having to do this for 2 weeks. As well, the bank will only change their pesos to coins of 10.00 and no more.I found the bank personnel rude and not accommodating. I will never return here or recommend this resort to my family or friends. The bright side was the people. Most of the staff were terrific.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Returning Customer - 3 times

Hotel has gone down hill since our last visit 3 years ago. We picked this hotel again, because in the past we had a great experience here. This trip, we were put in a room close to the ocean, with a partial ocean view, which was nice, however we had no hot water for our entire visit, and our toilet did not work, and toilet paper was limited. We found the staff not near as friendly as they have been in the past, the entertainment was not as plentiful as in other years. The food was horrible,  [... read more] worst I have seen in all my 7 trips to Cuba. There was often only one serving spoon for several different items of food. People who have food allergies like myself can not eat as a result of this, I had to stick to bread and eggs. The resort itself needs a lot of repairs although we did see a lot of maintenance workers and ground workers out and about, however there are safety issues that need to be addressed before someone gets badly hurt. We will not be going back!

Grand Memories Varadero: So much to do!

We just got back from grand memories resort and we had an amazing time! The rooms, the staff, the food, the bars, the kids activities and entertainment were all great. The kids club sought us out regularly to make sure our kids were entertained. The 3 pools all had bars and entertainment and were enormous. The beach was a short walk across the resort and offered stunning views of the ocean. We will definitely be going back.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: resort

Great clean resort with friendly staff. however language barrier made it hard to communicate at times. Amazing assortments of food, no one will go hungry at this location. Adults only resort cleaned daily and sprayed for mosquiteos nightly. Go carts that seat 8 with friendly and funny drivers to take you around the three resorts and to the market if required. Ocean clean with white soft sand, chairs and umbrellas. There is a bar and grill just a few steps from the beach, great food and drink [... read more]s cant get any closer. Note the beach does have lifeguards that patrol just in case the swells get to big in the Ocean. Pools are large in the Adults only resort, many chairs and cabanas for shade as well as a massage location, this area also has a grilling station. Pool bar and bartenders are great and friendly and go out of their way to please. The bar at check in is opened 24/7 so if you need to eat there is food at all times. All in all the vacation and location was great, we would recommend this location if you want a quite relaxing vacation. Oh yes, there is nightly entertainment as well.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Time to find a new resort!!

Over time this hotel has become VERY run down!! This is my 3rd and last time at Memories. The entire shower bar, head, plumbing had all fallen out of the wall, both sets of curtains were hanging off the rods and would not close. Huge wall / water damage patches in the bathroom, tub would not drain for a long time. Missing tiles around sink & tub. Towels old & strained. The small foot bridge to the beach has total fallen apart, nails sticking out, boards missing, no hand rail super dange [... read more]rous. The bathrooms by the Japanese restaurant and disco are DISGUSTING!!! Never any paper, men's and ladies toilets flooded and full, NO locks on the doors. The clock at the fountain square has never had the correct time in the past 7 yrs that I have been there. Lobby & main bar at 2:00 p.m. has NO ice, Mojitos served with WATER and not soda, mid evening no glasses to drink from, restaurant over the pool NO rum, mix at noon only beer left. What the hell? Guests are annoyed so they don't tip, staff are frustrated they don't have supplies and are getting no tips so crappy service does not make for a good holiday. No butter or margarine for toast in the a.m. when asked the young girl replied "no we're all out" it's 07:30 how can you be out of butter the restaurant only opened 30 mins ago? Asked an older male gentlemen who was happy to walk to the fridge & get some more. Again back to the poor service. Sunwing rep arrived 20 mins after bus arrived with guests for Diamond Club registration, 1/2 the guests in standard rooms had already checked in before rep showed up. No welcome drinks as advertised. Evening entertainment was very disappointing every night seemed to be the same artistic, tribal, jungle jumping around despite having a different theme. People were always walking out or falling asleep. The pool show & Michael Jackson were good. Lots of broken concrete on the foot paths and NO lights for rooms near the beach, very dark and hazardous due to all the broken tiles, bricks, etc. Carts are few & don't come around often. Be prepared to walk A LOT! Quiet pool is not so quiet lots of kids and noise. It would be nice to see them go down to the main pool so others could enjoy a more peaceful environment. On a positive note the day time Entertainment team is a hoot and always engaging people to do things. Main pool is always a buzz of activity, laughs, water polo, games and good times. Thank you Vettie, Caesar, Yenny and Denis it was great to see familiar faces. OUTSTANDING service and ladies at the bar going to the beach connected to the restaurant. Always pleasant, cheerful and make the best drinks at the resort!! Yarndis is a lovely lady and always smiling despite the lack of supplies; coffee first thing in the a.m., rum & ice mid day. Main restaurant the fruit lady Jeannette is always smiling, cheerful and happy to please her guests. Peachie the omelet lady is also another outstanding employee. The staff in the Diamond Club could use some training had to ask for coffee & juice 3x before we received any. Japanese restaurant was very good, fresh, filling and tasty. Cuban Day on the beach was great, good food and entertainment. Could use more chairs & table on these days for people to sit.

Sol Turquesa Beach: If you get a deal

Beautiful resort on a small beach. Lots of chairs around beach and pool. Evening entertainment is really good. Lots of stairs and walking. Rooms in 400 block were big, clean and close to pool. The food is the same for every meal. Lots of lines in buffet. Ran out of butter one day, bread another, pina colata, lemonaid..... If you are not a picky eater, like to walk and do stairs and get a good deal, this is a good trip.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Made some memories

I found that the rooms were nice and big with balconies.We were in the 400 n# rooms which was closer to all amenities than some locations. The resort is a bit outdated with some sign of wear and tear. The beach is nice but not very big. I find the shade a bit lacking. The food at buffets was not bad but not that good.For the' A la carte', I found that the Italian restaurant was the best tasting. It also has multiple pools, but we rather go to the beach. There are also excursions you can partake such as taking a 57 Chevy for a country side ride, going to a bat cave, boating ,snorkelling and more. The staff is wonderful and are grateful for gifts and tips. Live entertainment every night makes it a good end of a day. It is certainly not a 5 star and it's pushing very hard to be a 4. I would place it in the 3.5 star

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Wonderful Holiday!

Two teachers looking for a relaxful beach holiday. This resort lived up to all of our expectations. Amazing good walking beach. Awesome turquoise water.The grounds of the resort still show some effects of the fall hurricane.Our room in Block 15 was fine...some biting mosquitoes were problematic if the balcony sliding doors were left open. Food at the buffet was varied and plentiful. The 3 restaurants were 4 star Cuban . The 24 hour snack bar offered drinks, special coffees, pizza and hamburgers. [... read more] We opted for the $100 Diamond Club - would recommend it. Beach towels in the room, comfy chairs and umbrellas at the gorgeous beach, bar and snack bar beach service....Water, soft drinks and beer replaced daily in the room fridge. Resort employees were friendly, professional and helpful. Not a resort for partying. Quiet at night. Mostly middle age tourists.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Great Value Resort

This resort was an excellent value. Some aspects were a bit dated, however we had a lovely week and didn't spend much time in our room any way. Would definitely recommend if you are looking to get away on a budget. The beach was amazing. There are two pools with bars to choose from, not including the two kiddie pools. There was a waterslide, and I would say this resort was very family oriented. The food was tasty for the most part, and the staff members were very kind and attentive. Our mattress was pretty uncomfortable, so if you have back issues I would take that into consideration. Possibly the newer rooms also have newer beds.

Grand Memories Varadero: A+++

Our first time in Cuba Varadero and wont be the last. We went with our nabours, David and Monique that had already went to Cuba six time...so we trusted them! Cant say Nothing bad! People that are saying negative thing about Cuba....well....should stay home cause for us its only Positif ! 🌞

First time we stayed at this resort. We had a great time. The beach was amazing and they had great entertainment. We would definitely come back for another visit. The check in was easy and quick. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Fabulous Vacation!

My husband and I returned home from Memories Caribe on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. We had a lovely, clean end room (balcony) looking over the lake. Gorgeous sunrises. The sliding door lock was broken but we brought door stoppers which did the trick. Beautiful large bathroom but no door. Took a little getting used to but fine. The staff from every position were wonderful. Front desk, housekeeping (lovely towel displays everyday), servers, gardeners and beach chair helpers. Ola's from everyone. R [... read more]AUL and JANET at the buffet treated us like royalty every breakfast and lunch. They always saved our table and put flowers on them which was a lovely touch. I hope management reads these reviews and lets them know how much we appreciated their friendly service. The food was pretty good. A lot to choose from but lacked spice. No peanut butter or maple syrup so bring your own if possible. Great selection of deserts!! The cooks at the stations were fabulous and we especially enjoyed the pasta station at lunch. The beach was spectacular and you could walk for miles along the shore when the tide was low and walk back along the sandbanks. That was so cool!! We picked up some lovely shells. There were always lounge chairs available. The gardeners are working hard to restore the beautiful gardens. We liked the "village" feel with the chalet like buildings spread out with lovely paved pathways winding around the property which we walked every night. The entertainment was top rate. A lot of talent with vibrant costumes. The hour or so of karaoke prior to the shows were super fun to listen to. We hope to return next year.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Awesome

We had such a Great time at Memories Flamenco. The staff and entertainment was awesome, the food and drinks were great. The beaches are amazing and the water spectacular. The rooms were good but never spent much time there. We really loved the night entertainment , they are great performers and dancers. The temp was between 27 and 30 all week with no rain. Couldn't of asked for a better trip all the way around. Definitely good to return.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Lots of walking

We stayed at memories for a week. There was a lot of walking. The food was on par for Cuba.The most amazing part of the resort was the people. From the maids to bartenders to wait staff they were all amazing.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great vacation

Really enjoyed our stay, the quality and variety of food was good (some steam tables were warmer than others) , Staff were all very friendly, good recovery from the hurricane but you could tell some of the drywalling and painting was done in a hurry. Entertainment team take their job seriously. Resort needs to repair walk ways because of trip hazards. Lots of nice extras like beans cafe, 24 hrs snack/drink bar, bbq and pizza at the beach

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Awesome resort

We absolutely loved this resort . Everyone was so friendly , happy , and relaxed . The food was the best we have ever had in Cuba . The beach was great , the rooms were awesome .. didn’t like the no door on the bathroom lol . But we knew before we went so we bought a shower curtain and hung that up and it was fine . We will be returning to this resort .

Grand Memories Varadero: SOME ISSUES

The Resort was lovely and we had a great time. Be advised bottled water is available in your room only, you must purchase bottles of water at their store is you want to take it down to the beach etc. A few issues though with Hola Sun we went to orientation and no one showed up. We waited for over an hour and when we inquired at the hotel reception desk they were not helpful. Also, the day we left, there was no shuttle bus to pick us up and no one to assist. We ended up having to take a t [... read more]axi and pay out of pocket so not to miss our flight. Hola Sun has yet to reach out to us.
