Riu Bambu: Great staff and customer service

Great staff providing service in room cleaning, beach towel, animation: morning program including stretching, zumba, dance classes, restaurants. Food was in good in quantity not so much in quality and presentation. Entertainment shows had great dancers. The sound and stage background was mediocre.

Excellence Punta Cana: Great Resort!

We stayed in the Club Section which was close to the pools and the ocean. The room was great-we chose the Ocean View Junior Suite. Concierge service was always available if we needed anything Mini bar was always stocked and we could ask for our preferences. Hendriks at the Club Pool was amazing. Good pool service for drinks. High-quality alcohol at all bars. Crown Royal, was requested for our room and we got it. The wonderful staff is happy to help and not soliciting tips but we were generous wi [... read more]th them. Fantastic New Year's Eve Celebration and meal. Paella at the pool was great! Musical Entertainment from 6 to 9 every evening was pleasant. Some of the shows were not high quality except for the magic show and the circus show. Michael Jackson's show never happened for the 2 weeks we were there although it was announced each week. Texas Hold 'em every day was fun. Great variety of restaurants Chez Isabel was my favourite but the service seemed rushed and not as elegant as I would have assumed for a French restaurant. Lots of activities, if you want them Comfortable beds at the pool and the beach and lots of them available Ocean a bit rough and not for everyone. We will return- this was our first trip to this hotel

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Totally mediocre resort with a beautiful beach

We did have a good trip, the weather and beach were beautiful but the resort itself meh. The food isn't great, breakfast is by far the best meal as you can order eggs and omelettes and there's always fresh fruit. Other than that the food is pretty terrible even at the restaurants which are a pain to book. You have to wait in a line in the lobby which can take several hours and they only book certain days at a time, so chances are you'll have to wait in the line more than once. That said, the res [... read more]taurants are better than the buffet so worth the wait. The best drinks, coffee and service are in the lobby bar. Linarda greeted us every morning with a smile which we appreciated, she was attentive and super friendly. You have to specify that they make your coffee with the espresso machine otherwise they'll go out back and serve you lattes or whatever out of an automatic machine which are disgusting. We took our own towels which we were grateful for as they ran out sometimes.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great Christmas Holiday !!!

We just spent 7 days at the Grand Aquamarine in Punta Cana. I have been to many all inclusives over the years, and the Aquamarine (adults only) ranks as one of the best. The grounds are great. The room (after an upgrade to poolview) was fabulous. The quiet end of the pool where we hung out was chill. The food was good, however, a bit of a challenge as my wife and I are vegan. We could manage to find choices in the buffet and did alright at the restaurants. The language barrier (we don't speak  [... read more]spanish) made it a challenge to ensure that what we were served was in fact vegan. But that is the struggle of a vegan and it is not in anyway a bad mark on the resort. The staff at all levels was friendly and very helpful and welcoming. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back for another week.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Very Enjoyable Vacation!

Beach was great, clean and gets top marks. Resort is one of several bunched together and busy during peak times. Best choice is to go adult only. Restaurant staff are great in Portofina and Rodizio. Aquamarine needs to improve on more English-speaking staff in key places - like front desk. Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Terrible service, terrible rooms, don't waste your time and money

Unless you wave wads of cash around, don't expect any service from anyone. Also, never go here expecting a good room, or if you have a toddler or younger. Our room had a glass door leading to the bathroom, and another glass sliding door next to the bed, that led to the shower. That leaked water into the main area everytime someone showered, which meant that we had to put a towel on the floor next to the bed. The room's phone didn't work because its battery had leaked and destroyed the contact [... read more]s. Rather than replace it, some random guy took the phone from the adjoining room and swapped it. From then on, any number we called thought that we were calling from that room, and we had to correct them every time. Also some lights didn't work, and the asking for cleaning, didn't mean that we got fresh towels, so we had to make another call just for that. Unlimited drinks is a joke, because the bartender will literally ignore you most of the time, or say that they don't make drink x or y, or just give a drink with nothing but ice in it. The app doesn't work to reserve restaurants (something even the staff told us) and you will need to find the one desk in the resort where they can help reserve for you. But then again, the restaurants don't provide good food or service, so you might as well just go to the buffets. General theme: Terrible service unless you pre-tip the right people or wave around a wad of USD to get someone's attention.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Excellent Resort

The accommodations were excellent. Top notch. The food was beautifully presented and delicious in all of the restaurants. The service was fabulous. The coffee bar was a real treat. The beach was wonderful. Our only complaint is that the music was too loud every where and overlapped from the pool to the restaurants. It was difficult to have a conversation and became very tiresome and annoying. Overall, beautiful place and would highly recommend.

Secrets Cap Cana: Excellent Vacation at Secrets Cap Cana, DR

We loved our holiday this December at Secrets, Cap Cana. The resort was stunning. Our room was beautifully decorated and well air conditioned with all the amenities. The service was the best I’ve ever had. Activities were sent to our phones every day. There was a lot to do: aquabics, zhumba, biking, waterpolo, volleyball, archery. Yoga…There was always food available. I would highly recommend this resort!!!

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Amazing time at Majestic Mirage!

We spent a week at the Majestic Mirage over Christmas and had the absolute best time! The resort itself is immaculate. The food! Omg the food. So much variety, plenty of gluten-free options. They have an omelette station at both breakfast buffets, along with a crepe station at the main buffet. The variety was incredible! We ate so well the entire week. Everyone is so kind and friendly. The kids club was a huge hit for our 3 and 7 year old, we spent most mornings there! They have freshly popped popcorn and snacks, waters and juice boxes for the kids. The kids club staff are truly amazing! Special shout out to Rachel and Stephanie. They were so great with our kids. The entertainment staff are amazing! The daily dance parties, games and crafts for the kids at the main pool were the best. Claudia, Adonis, Stephanie, Rachel, Francisco, Dario, Tainy, the tall guy who wore the army print sun hat! They are so wonderful and fun. I know I am missing a few names, ALL OF THEM are amazing! The energy they bring to the pool everyday was incredible. Shout out to the bar staff at the main pool as well, Claudio was one name I got, I didn't get the rest! They had crafts everyday for the kids as well. We came home with 4 beautiful ornaments for our tree. We had Elvis as our butler for the week, he is the best! He was so helpful with everything we asked for. He checked on us multiple times a day, came and found us wherever we were to say hi :) ask for Elvis as your butler! The staff at the main buffet were so kind and accommodating. The head chef, Josefa (could be the wrong spelling) at the pasta station was amazing. We didnt make the evening shows as they start at 930pm - too late for the kids unfortunately. My son did go to the Christmas show and said it was too loud (LOL). I would love if they had an earlier show for the families with little kids, at 8pm! That would be amazing. They did have a band every night with the entertainment staff making balloon animals for the kids, face painting etc. We didn't make it past 830pm with our kids. The ONLY thing we wished was different were the pillows in the room. They are small and seem overused. We are going back next year for 10 days and will bring our own pillows for sure. Such a minor detail considering how amazing our week was. The rooms were very well kept everyday, our cleaning lady was so kind. With 2 toilets, 3 sinks, a separate waterfall shower, it was very spacious for our downtime with the kids. The mosquitos weren't too bad, only a few bites on us. Bring bug spray though, I did use it daily in the evening. We highly recommend the Majestic Mirage in Punta Cana and can't wait to go back! Thank you to everyone who made our holiday so special.

TRS Turquesa: Overall, Disappointing.

The room was tired and in need of a re-fresh. The curtains around the bed were mildewed on arrival and we had to ask for them to be removed and cleaned. Turndown service was only provided on one night of our stay. The music and entertainment in all of the venues was too loud - even when just playing music you could not carry on a conversation in Helios. The food was average at best, and repetitive across all of their outlets. The massages were not worth the money and not provided by st [... read more]aff with appropriate training. We had a couples massage and it was clear that my masseur was playing follow the leader with the colleague who was massaging my husband. All in all, we paid a premium for this stay, and it was not worth it. I am certain there must be much better options for the price.

Occidental Caribe: Occidental Caribe Punta Cana

The hotel facilities and location was amazing, beautiful and clean. There was not enough reclining seats on the beach area to enjoy being on the beach. The staff of the hotel were not friendly or welcoming to us at all. They made no attempt to even acknowledge our presence when talking to us or even make eye contact with us. One really friendly and polite person was Felix De Jesus the bell boy who greeted us when we arrived. He was always pleasant and very helpful. The service in the dining area [... read more] was very bad. We would order drinks but they never came. Line ups for food were too long and staff seemed annoyed when you asked them for something.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great experience

I had the greatest vacation staying at the Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar resort. The grounds, restaurants and employees were all top notch,our every need and request was completely satisfied with nothing but huge smiles. Absolutely every person from Trolly Drivers, bathroom attendants, housekeeping staff, servers in the restaurants, buffets, beach and pool areas were so friendly and eager to make sure we were having a great time. VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: 3 star for sure

We did enjoy ourselves but the beach was seriously eroded in front of hotel Vik and Cayena. The food was good and we didn't do the A la Carte restaurant. The rooms were plain and mini bar had only water. There is a 2 USD a day for safe and the wifi was weak in the room but good in the lounge area. The one pool operating was never too busy. The bartender at the lounge was wonderful. We always found a palapa to sit under , the vender's were polite. The cleaning ladies did a nice job with the roo [... read more]m and were prompt to get supplies when requested. It was a relaxing week with great weather the Bavaro Beach was beautiful.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Do not recommend

Transport from airport: good Reception: unorganized and deceptive Reservation was incorrect Rooms: 1 was old and dirty, 1 had cockroaches. 1 had to be upgraded because it was dirty. Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort: Great Resort

This is an excellent adults only resort. Great customer service, excellent housekeeping, our room was always cleaned and well maintained, buffet food was very good but always seemed to be the same food., great size beac and always maintained. The specialty restaurants were exceptional, very good, cannot say enough about them, from service to the taste, was differently 5 star. You do not know what events are taking place, where and when. I have visited numerous resorts and there is always a schedule board either in the lobby or somewhere on the property i forming you of the daily events, there was ZERO here. Visited over xmas and it took 5 days to hear from another couple that there was a Christmas Gala Dinner on the 24 Dec and we had to registered for it. If it wasn't for me being pushy with the reservation person and telling them that there resort lacked communications, we wouldn't have got a seat for the event. Overall, this is a great resort and would highly recommend it. The communication issue is a quick fix and would resolve a lot of problems.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Loved it!

Everything was perfect, people so helpful, only negative was our room had no door on the bathroom, took getting used to for sure as I was travelling with my sister. Christian the sous chef at meat was outstanding as well as Miguel at the beach!

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Good

Nice resort but the Service is Very Very Bad.. The staffs are not friendly. Rooms services are very bad, room towels and bed sheets were not replaced daily.. Not enough entertainments.. Foods are ok not that great.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful resort: exactly what we needed

My husband and my three adult sons stayed at the Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar from Dec. 15 - 22, 2023. We stayed in the "Swim up pool" rooms and right in front of the pool. It was so nice to be able to sit outside in the morning and watch the day unfold and then to unwind at the end of the day before our dinner reservations. Our sons really enjoyed it as they met a lot of other travelers their age at the other resorts we had access to. Grounds and public areas are really nicely kept Landscaping is beautiful Restaurants and buffet area nicely design The only issue was a reception We call 3 times the reception for bell boy to help us out with luggage on the last day of stay, they got the request but never sent anybody. because of that we got late to reception and AirTransat bus left to airport without us. Riu Republica: Not a 5 Star

Grounds and resort is big and beautiful. It's so big and busy that the staff can't handle to keep up with the little stuff like taking 2 days and 7 calls to get my fridge replenished. Workers seemed to care about the customers but not the cleanliness of certain areas. Food was just okay. The best was the jerk chicken, I had that everyday. Buffet was repetitive and just okay. Nothing to brag about.
