Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing!!! We will be back...

This resort is absolutely beautiful and the workers including the gardeners/maintenance work very hard to keep this place clean and beautiful. You can see they were hit hard by the hurricane, but wow they are constantly working to replace damaged items and plants/trees. The lobby bar was very relaxing to enjoy during the day or in the evening for an after dinner drink. There was usually some sort of live entertainment. We loved seeing the cats who call Memories their home, so treat them with [... read more] respect. Beaches: Stunning, such blue water and white sands. Lots of beautiful shells along the beach. Pool: I'm not usually a pool person, but the big pool is spotless and clean and the water is so refreshing. The only issue we had with the pool was that you couldn't get a chair, if you didn't race down at 5-6 am to reserve. I had thought there was a Diamond Club area but that's only on the beach. The swim-up bar pool has a low water level and I'm not sure if that's to stop people from sitting at the bar all day and just peeing in the pool, but it was refreshing to cool off. Food/Restaurants: With some of the reviews we were worried about the food and took lots of spices, however, we were surprised how tasty the food was with flavor and they have lots of spices including salt and pepper, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, hot sauce. The only thing they don't have is peanut butter, so if you can't go without I would suggest bringing your own small jar or packets. Every morning you can have homemade eggs any way you desire including an omelette. The supper buffet is good as well and I highly recommend the cook-to-order fried rice or pasta. The cheese and dried meats (prosciutto, salami) and delicious. The a la carte restaurants for the most part were delicious including the Mediterranean restaurant which had a nice beef dinner which you could cut with a bread knife. The Asian is a must try as well, but we were very disappointed with the Italian. If you are in the Diamond Club you get an additional meal one evening during your stay. As our night was at the Cuban restaurant, we didn't book it separate so did not get a chance to try it as the special Diamond Club dinner is a set menu of lobster and chicken. It is definitely worth it if you are a seafood lover. There is a 24/7 snack bar where you can get coffee, pizza, burgers, fries and of course an open bar. Room: Spotless, clean and bug free. We were in Building 2, top floor corner room. From our balcony we had a view of the ocean and the entire resort, which was gorgeous. I would suggest requesting Building 1, 2 or 3 closer to the beach and pool. Entertainment: The Michael Jackson show was spectacular. The Madonna and Beatles was ok but very enjoyable to watch. The dancers throughout the resort were wonderful and the synchronized swimmers were fantastic. Cubans sure know how to dance and are always giving lessons to learn the moves. People: Are amazing. I never once felt threatened or unsafe and they will bend over backwards to make your stay an enjoyable one. I would suggest taking Toronto Blue Jay baseball hats down or t-shirts of anything Canada, they are so appreciative and love Canadians. My only complaint of this resort is the drainage system for the toilets. There seemed to be a lot of flooding by the end of the day in the lobby washrooms and at night our room toilet didn't always flush, but this could be due to washing of laundry and dishes by the staff. By morning the pressure was back to normal but can't take too many flushes in a row. Excursions: We actually didn't do any excursions. The Sunwing desk line ups were way to busy so we didn't want to waste time to just look and chat with the representative. There is a small market about a 5-10 minute walk. There is a larger market a little further which you can either take the bus for $5/person or we grabbed a taxi as there was 4 of us for $25 and the driver waits for you and brings you back. We also one day took a taxi for $80 which was one of the old 1950's cars to Moron. As our taxi driver wasn't very fluent in English he took us to a very nice young man in town who spoke fluent English and who was able to walk us a round the city (I would highly suggest this) as everyone knew him and were not so needing on approaching us and begging. I did take lots of stuff for the children (hot wheels, stickers, colorful markers, crayons, books, bubbles, candy necklaces, candy bracelets and suckers) if you don't expose them out on the street openly, you won't get swarmed. The people are so kind in this town as well. My daughter wasn't feeling too well cause of the hot heat and two older ladies took us into a small museum with air-conditioning and allowed her to cool off, until she felt better, we gave them $5 and they were so appreciative. The other place I would suggest is a must especially if you are seafood eater is Lenny's Bar and Grill on the beach. It's a small hut on the beach which is about a half hour walk along the beach, but you can take a taxi for $25 return. The food is amazing, the people are spectacular and the view is breathtaking. We will 100% return to this resort... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK...

Grand Memories Varadero: It was a great resort. Really good for familys with children of all ages. Staff was very helpful.

The grounds were very clean and the greenery beautiful and maintained constantly. The cleaning staff of our room were more then accommodating. Our rooms were in the 15th block next to the pool and very close to all restaurants. Highly recommended.

The staff was very friendly, ground were kept very clean. The resort is huge and lots of things to do.Food could use some help. But over all out trip was amazing and we will be returning in the very near future!!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Comfortable, Relaxing, Awesome Staffwell kept

well kept resort except for public washrooms were not properly attended to..did mention to Diamond Club Rep, bars couldn't always keep up to guest demands, sometimes long waits for drinks, friendly, helpful staff, stunning beach with fabulous sunsets, clean up of grounds continuing after Sept'17 hurricane, roof at Cuban restaurant was being repaired..would return to this resort. Questionable value for Diamond Club upgrade

Our stay at the Flamenco was enjoyable. The beach was great, the top pool was great, however the lower pool was only filled with water not even halfway which made the pool virtually unusable by adults, unless you were on a raft floating around. The kiddy pool was full to the rim and looked nice. The room itself was standard Cuban fare. The building we were in is starting to look dated. However, considering the hurricane, you never would have known that they had been through that. The f [... read more]ood was standard fare, nothing fantastic but always something to eat. The public washrooms were not the best. Many times they would be closed and you would be forced to go back to your room, which could be quite the walk when you are at the buffet or the entertainment. I never saw any entertainment on the beach. The entertainment at the pool was the same over and over. It wasn't the best. The nightly entertainment was pretty good. Even though I am pointing out the negative things, I had an enjoyable time and would go back to the Flamenco again.

Grand Memories Varadero: Good with problems

There were lots of issues, if you just want to get away to the beach for getaway, it is a good resort. There are lot of things that do not make this a 4 star when we were there, we encountered several thing that were problems. As our flight was delayed on take off, we arrived later than scheduled to the resort. There was no one at the diamond club area to check in with, they did take us to the check in at the front desk. We could not find anyone to show us to our room, the area is a little  [... read more]dark at night to find your way around. First the room keys did not work the first night when we arrived. The room were clean but room cleaning did not happen until around the 4:30 pm. We were short some towels, no face cloths for my wife. The beach was nice, the people at the resort were very nice and helpful. I would recommend paying the extra for the Diamond Club You will get your own entrance to the buffet and will get more option when booking the restaurants. The only other option would be Sanctuary this is the all adult area. A lot of the bathrooms were out of order through out the resort. From the information I see from sunwing they may be a couple of years out of date, as per what the people in Cuba told us. They seem to be working on the resort and this may have been due to the storms that went through the area. Over all I would not rate Grand Memories more than a 3 star at this time.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Great for kids

On arrival to hotel we were told the room we had requested was not available and that for an upgrade of whatever charge we could pay we would get one. shower head had to be hand held or water would spill everywhere mini bar door did not close and the day before we left started spilling water. Room service is $10 but if u ordered more than 2 entres u had to pay $20. Restaurants were good. Buffet super busy and it seemed like staff never knew where things were. The girl at coffee beans was super nice as well but forget her name. Splash pad is great for the kids with the exception no alcohol or food or towels learned all this the hard way. The whole hotel had very lack of communication as to how things worked it literately took whole week to know the ins and outs of the place. Kids club great as well as teen lounge. Maid service was great.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Memories at Caribe

Feb 7_14 My husband and I took our very first vacation and we choose Memories Caribe. 3 other friends have stayed and loved it. Well we were not disappointed. From first arriving with dancers as a welcome off the bus to the great reception desk with extremely polite and helpful people. We had pre booked Diamond club and went straight to our room. We booked a pool view Jr Suite terrece. when we arrived to our room there was some issues with the air conditioner and lots of water was coming out b [... read more]ut a call to the front desk had someone there in mins..he did a few things and assured us it would be better...well after a few more mins unfortunately I was not at all comfortable and wanted to see about another room. The fount desk was amazing and had us in a beautiful balcony room closer to the ocean and it was perfect. Our bed was not new but comfortable, the bathroom was large with a door and always good pressure for the shower and hot water. As for the grounds they were so beautiful and we made sure we spoke to the gardners daily to tell them what a great job they have done since Irma. We brought alot of work gloves and gave them all away. The work that had to be done after Irma was massive and going here you wouldbt even know a F5 hurricane blew through there, with a few exceptions of new sod and small palm tress in some areas. The beach was breath taking and super clean. The staff was always helpful and things always to do down at the beach. Our bartender Wendy was amazing at rum punches thats for sure and the best pizza is right down on the beach ohhhh and fresh hot churros being brought right to you a few times a day was THE BEST. Also the long walks on the sand bar was most memorable and to see all the star fish and going snorkeling was so great The entertainment was second to none and there was fun and wonderful things to see and hear nightly from amazing dancers and water shows and karaoke nights to the foam dance party on the beach ..you are never wondering what there is to do. We of course we were all told about Cuban food...I found it great..yes the buffet has pretty much the same things daily but it was always good and fresh stuff from the grill and pasta bar or seafood grill you will most certainly not starve here. The staff in the buffets and A la Cartes were so helpful and poilte. I was always told that the people of Cuba are why people go there well they were sooooo right these people especially at Memories always go above and beyound for anyone and do it so graciously and politely and not like they were just waiting for a tip like other places in the Caribbean Ive been told. We were very busy doing alot of excursions so we missed 2 of our A la Cartes and only went to the Cuban one which I liked very much, my husband didnt but hes a wee bit picky...the 24 hr bar had THE BEST fries and their ketchup is good..was warned about it but it wasnt heniz but a damn good second thats for sure..drinks of course are pentlyful and delish..we loved the margaritas in the piano bar and pina colodas in the sports bar are amazing. Tony Tony at the sunwing desk was awesome he helped very much and we ended up very much enjoying Havana thoughly for our day trip and our off site supper at Lennys bar and grill and our horseback riding over at Flamincos. The bugs we heard can get bad but we had none but that could have been because of the wind...the weather was hot and beautiful usually a daily of 28 one morning of rain during breakfast and then gorgeous the rest of the day...animals at resort...I love them so not a problem but we did see a few cats that wonder around and yes even in the outdoor buffet eating area but they dont seem to bother anyone at all...the birds are great singers and do occasionally land on the backs of chairs looking for some food. The cleaning staff everywhere are constanly working and so poilte to always have a Hola for you.. (love it) our rooms had the most beautiful towel art..loved seeing each night we got back to the room. Meeting others there was a beautiful highlight and some have been there multiple times and for sure I can see why. Overall hands down I would visit Memories Caribe again as we loved it very much. The only tiny issue would be that I wish there was more info about Diamond club and how to access the perks..such as private dinner at the pool or private breakfasts we didnt know about these things until quite a few days in..I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who asks and for a first trip anywhere it was GREAT and I sure cant seem to get the Memories Caribe song and dance out of my head..lol..I even taped it to always remember lol. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful beach and people....however some serious septic issues!

This was our first visit to Cayo Coco -travelled last week of Feb 2018. This hotel has definitely come far in rebuilding according to others who have stayed in the past. However they have some serious plumbing/water issues. The public bathrooms were overflowing daily and closed constantly leaving only 1 available on the whole resort. Each day was a mystery in finding an open ladies bathroom that wasn't overflowing and very disgusting. (Only once I saw someone actually working in the bathroom s [... read more]o not sure how they are resolving this serious issue?) They finally posted a note for women to use garbage cans in each stall for t-paper which they should have up anyway! However, those were rarely emptied so that added to the mess and standing water! Water pressure was a problem too, shower did not work for 2 days. There is only 1 pool because the pool bar floor was redone and there was only a foot of water in it- Therefore the main pool was packed with everyone. The resort ran out of t-paper, water bottles were low, vodka & beer were not available for several hours until their supplies arrived. Looking at the positive, I hope our booking helped bring in some revenue to get them up an running - it truly is a beautiful spot and the people were very gracious and tried their best to accommodate. Here's hoping that in time they will be up and running smoothly. It is a small hotel with not a lot of activity(no bocce, shuffle board, ping pong, few activities) if you want to just relax at ocean and pool with little choices, then this is your spot.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Nice Resort

This hotel is very nice but spread out on a large property. If you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you (a lot of steps from room area to lobby area). Rooms are nice and spacious, we were 3 ladies and had 3 single beds which was very practical. The only really down side is that they do not offer bottled water at the buffet unless you are booked ''Diamond Club''. Water is pretty much a necessity when you are spending so much time out in the sun and need proper hydration. The water  [... read more]served was not detrimental to your health but tasted really awful. The coffee tasted the same as it was prepared with the same water. The beach area is ok and you could always find chairs and proper shade. Personnel were friendly and helpful.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Not the best

The resort is not in the best shape, needs a lot of upgrades and is really run down, it also has a lot of risk for injury exposure for being a family kid friendly resort. Some building are upgraded ours where not building 9 and 10 are where we stayed and they should not be used at this point, they are aweful. Toilets where disgusting almost all the time; no toilet paper , or even seats. With that being said positive note the staff where amazing; nice friendly Food was ok, not bad.

Grand Memories Varadero: Nice resort

This hotel was fine, pleasant staff and nice grounds.. We did ask to be moved as we had been placed on a ground floor with no air conditioning in one of the rooms and they were musty and hot. The hotel moved us the next day for a small charge.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: 3 in 1 Resort

Sanctuary itself was a reasonable size of over 300 rooms. The butler service, generally 2 people at a time, was excellent. They booked your restaurants, answered questions, gave directions. Restaurants were quite plentiful as you had the choice of 3 resorts, all witting walking distance. Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Memories Splash was the perfect family vacation

The family trip we had from Toronto to Memories Splash in Punta Cana was an ideal winter getaway for a family with a very active 6 year old boy. Everything from the flight to the hotel staff to the waterpark to the beach was fantastic. The buffet selections were plentiful and the variety was more than sufficient for our family. From Trip Central we booked with Tanya Smith who was able to answer all of our questions in a friendly an efficient manner and I would definitely recommend her to any Trip Central customers! The beach at the resort was beautiful which is of course what Punta Cana is known for. My only complaint? The lineups in the Punta Cana airport both arriving and departing were extremely long -the worst I've ever experienced. It was very difficult to keep our boy from being bored out of his mind for the hour and a half we waited in line on the way home. It would seem that Punta Cana has become a victim of it's own success. That having been said, we would definitely return!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Breath taking experience

We were bit disappointed at first as we went with 2 other couples whom were put in the same building while we were in a different building at the other end of the resort! While they could not move us right away after 2 days they did relocate us with the other couples. We were extremely greatful. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Good resort with some qualifications

Great thing about this resort is the beach area; fine sand, shallow water and you can walk on the beach for a very long ways. The staff are generally friendly (except for the check-in staff and the public relations), but the grounds people and servers are very friendly. Food is okay but definitely not something that would bring you to the resort. It is the basic Cuban resort type food. Entertainment is very good. The important thing to remember is that the resort was devastated by a hurrica [... read more]ne only 6 months ago so they are trying their best to put it back together. Palm trees are recovering and they are planing new shrubs, etc. In a year it will be very nice again. I will recommend it, but primarily for the beach and friendly staff.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing vacation

Stayed at Memories Caribe from Feb. 20 to 27, 2018. We had great time. Resort is beautiful, small thus not crowded, located on the most amazing beach. Grounds are kept beautifully and they still repairing following the hurricane, but they did amazing job. Rooms are very clean and the staff is fantastic. All the staff at the resort is doing great job, very friendly always smiling and very accommodating. Food at the main buffet is very good and variety is good. The station with the f [... read more]resh fish, where the chef cooks it for you, is excelllent. I am not a fish eating person but the way it was prepared I had it almost ever day. The roasted pig, delicious! Lots to choose from sweets! Staff at the buffet is great. Cannot say the same thing for a la card restaurants, we did not enjoyed the food. Entertainment very good. There is yoga, aerobics, dancing lessons, etc...during day as well as entertainment by the pool. Big pool with swim up bar. The lobby bar makes great drinks as well as specialty coffee and the staff is amazing. There is a sports bar 66 which is also very good. One thing I would suggest to the management that the lobby bar and the sports bar be opened at least until midnight as now closes at 11:00PM. Overall we had ver good experience, amazing vacation, have already recommended to my friends and are considering returning.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great all- inclusive resort

Excellent hotel. Amenities were great. Food was manageable- buffet had food for all palates. Grounds were breathtaking- lot of foliage. The infinity pools were incing on the cake. It was a great place for kids.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: beautiful resort

The hotel was beautiful, and very clean. we were part of the diamond club which I highly recommend. Well worth it! i really enjoyed this resort because it was adult only so the beach and pools were more quiet and relaxing. The staff were all amazing! they made our stay so much more memorable. My only negative comment would be that there's no hot water. Their water's heated by solar panels so if its not sunny(which it wasn't when we went) there's no hot water.
