We were not happy with our room as it didn't have a king bed as requested and a few amenities in the room were missing. We asked for a new room which we got the next day. It was a much better room! The front staff were very accommodating.
We loved the lounges.
Loved the beach! Beautiful and clean. Bar service right to our chair on the beach, this was a first for us to experience! One day we even had a fresh coconut carved in front of us with Cuban rum added...awesome.
Pool was lovely[... read more].
We didn't like the pool entertainment as it was very loud. Not crazy about the show in the Theatre. (We have attended many theatre shows over the years so we are quite picky!) But we loved the strolling Cuban musical bands in the lounge and the other live theatre installations!!! WOW!!
The food was good but not great.
Loved the Mexican Restaurant!
Experienced some real Cuban culture on the Bus Tour to Moron city, which we loved and thought the price we paid was very, very fair. We had the best tour guide Elisabeth.
The resort needs some TCL and some renovations. It probably was a 4 star hotel at one time but we feel it is only a 3 star now.
We loved the staff at the Iberostar Dacquiri! the nicest, most gracious people. They made us feel special.

Hotel Mojito: It's kind of like Cheers.
I may be dating myself with this reference, but this resort is a special place for those that find it special - like the bar, Cheers, in the TV Show, where everyone knows your name. To see so many people return again for another stay at their "Cuban Home" is to appreciate the feel of the resort. This was the second time that we stayed at the Mojito, the first time was six years ago .. and you can see the changes that time and a destructive wind event had upon the grounds and structures. But tha[... read more]t didn't change the essential feel of the place - the food was good, by Cuban standards, the beach is still amazing - and this smaller resort is easily navigated and visually interesting. A couple that we met on the beach summed it up nicely when they said that this is the hidden gem of Cayo Coco ... they're probably right.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Family resort.
We were received well on arrival and quickly settled into our room.
The various amenities were located well within walking distance.
We felt comfortable in room, well supplied with drinks but during buffet time we feel buffet pick up area was not effectively organized as lot of people had to wait long time to pick up their choices.
Pool and beach area were well kept but need shower and toilet facilities near by for able, disable and small people.
Other International food choices were very li[... read more]mited and therefore many guests were frustrated that they were forced to buffet food choices only.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Pros & cons
I consider myself fairly low maintenance & reasonable, but there were many basic needs that weren’t met at this resort.
Ex: we had to ask for toilet paper several times (3 of us and a toddler) never had towels, at times we were left with hand towels as full towels. Shower leaked on two sides every shower & our last 2 days we had freezing dribbles coming out. Food was quite bland which we expected, but by day 4 it was literally just rice, pasta, breads desserts and chunks of random meat.
Gr[... read more]ounds were nice, walk to beach was a little far when you have children but the beach itself was amazing, lots of coverage if you want, plenty of chairs, it was quite windy (I’m assuming just the time of year). Bar is far from the beach, you could definitely finish your drink before even getting back to your spot. Many pools, beautifully kept, splash pad was actually about a foot of water so toddler couldn’t run free. Staff was friendly & love children.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Relaxing trip.
Hotel - dated. We purchased the Upgrade room and there was NO door on the bathroom. Bathroom was open concept and where I don’t mind an open shower, the toilet area is a different story. Tip your maid and she will place beer and pop in your fridge. Toilets and bedding are not changed only hung up and made for you. By the end of the week we no longer had a bath mat. No clock in the room. Not sure why there was a coffee maker in the room when we were not given anything to make it with.
Food [... read more]- very good for Cuba standards. The 24 hour Snack bar was great. Hotdogs, burgers, sandwiches and always had fries. Buffet had awesome service for dinner time. Rafael and Yandy are great so if you are lucky enough to sit outside they will refill your cups and will remember you. The pasta line should be two not one. Often waited 30 minutes for pasta in a long line. The stir fry was good. Breakfast we had omelets everyday. We ate at the snack bar for lunch. We did not do any a la Carts.
Pool - freezing. Coldest pool I have ever been in except in May in Canada. Seriously. But we always got a chair and didn’t have to go down to the pool to early to do it. Service at the swim up bar was good as well.
Beach - after looking at everyone else’s bug bitten legs we didn’t risk a full day at the beach. We did go for long walks and the beach is beautiful. The pizza at the beach is very good.
Entertainment - not the greatest. They had karaoke every night and should have kept that going longer than the hour. During the day they would do the same thing everyday and the resort was quiet by 10pm.
Flight - AirTransat was great. Flew on time and arrived home early which was nice. Paid for Option Plus and in my opinion it’s worth it. No lines at the airport and food and one alcoholic drink is included. Plus you pre book your seats
Tour Operator - Hola Sun. Our on resort rep Enme was wonderful and the most attentive I’ve ever had (we travel once a year and have done Sunwing and Air Transat) would book Hola sun again.

Melia Costa Rey: Beautiful resort with very friendly helpful staff
The pictures on the Pullman website reflect how beautiful the resort is. The 4 pools are centrally located and very clean. The entertainment team at the pool were great fun. Had games for adults and children and an aqua fit program each noon. The reception area is very large with a glorious view of the ocean. Staff were helpful as we needed to change rooms as my friend and I have bad backs and needed to be placed on a lower floor. Within minutes Maria at the check in desk had us in a new buildi[... read more]ng and on a lower floor. Beach is beautiful, sandy and minimum wave action. There were plenty of beach chairs and a bar at each end that serviced drinks and food.Rooms were large, clean and had all the essentials (i.e.shampoo,body wash, soap, body lotion, tooth brushes and shower caps)
Food was fine with breakfast being my favorite meals. Loved the fruit smoothies each morning. Fresh fish everyday. The Chirros( thin donuts) served at a hut on the way to the beach were to die for..
Weather was great and I loved every moment . Would return in a heart beat. Melba G and Joyce D

Melia Costa Rey: Amazing Vacation Spot!
This resort is spotless. Staff is constantly cleaning the bathrooms, grounds, everything. Maids do an amazing job in the rooms, we loved Judy.
Check-in/check-out was easy and extremely quick. Reception was very accommodating to arrange a late check-out. Our group was able to keep one room an extra 4 hours at $10 cuc per hour.
Food was impressive for Cuba. Omelettes, crepes, and French toast were our go to for breakfast. 24 hour snack bar had the best fries and burgers, this was our go to [... read more]for lunch and late night snack. Supper at the buffet was great, everyone in our group were completely satisfied. A la cartes were good; Cuban was the favourite. Japanese was disappointing, the chef wasn’t as jovial as we are accustomed to, but food was good. The French restaurant was amazing. We paid the extra $10 cuc to dine at the Gourmet restaurant, it was well worth it. The Churros (fried dough pastries) that were served throughout the day were a big hit with our group. We would have 2 or 3 servings a day.
The bartender at the snack bar, Jorge, was great. He always made us laugh, was friendly with everyone and spoke very good English.
Nightly entertainment was great. We enjoyed 4 nights out of 6 at the theatre. The other shows were a beach party and an aquatic show. We would have preferred all nightly shows be in the theatre.
We were very impressed with the amount of chairs there were at the beach and pools, never a need to reserve seating.
The amount of pools, bars, and restaurants are great. There is never much of a line up for anything.
One of the draws to this resort was how close it was to the airport. 10 to 15 minute bus ride was great.
The resort is very well laid out. It is very close to everything.
We have been to Cuba a few times, the Pullman is our favourite. Our group likes to try new resorts, new places/countries each year. This is the first time our group has decided to return to a resort for a second time.
We stayed in a garden view room, in the regular side. We didn’t feel there was any need to upgrade to the collection side.
I rate this resort at a 5, without hesitation.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: This Resort has it ALL!! Superior Service
Loved! The Staff !!!
Each and every staff member went out of their way to ensure our vacation was what we wanted it to be. FOOD was a plenty! 3 cook stations and enough variety that even the pickiest of eaters will be satisfied. They have many sauces, oils and vinegars for salads and to add flavour to your meals along with several dishes of flavoured salts. Entertainment staff fun. Beach is close, clean and aquamarine! Drinks brought to you by amazing service staff. Scuba diving, wind surfing, [... read more]snorkeling, catamaran volleyball.and more
Lots to do if you want or nothing at all and soak up the sun. Sunwing excursions are affordable and fun! Recommend the all in one. Our favourite was the rum snd sugar cane tour. Iberostar Daquiri has scooter rentals for $25 cuc. You can travel the island and leave to go to nearby city of Moran. Rooms are fresh and clean. Onsite shopping for souvenirs or forgotten toiletries. Cigar shop onsite too! with very knowledgeable staff. We went offsite to purchase and found Iberostar Daquiri had the best prices. Highly recommended if this is your first trip or 100th to Cuba.
Keep in mind this Cayo doesnt have inhabitants.. resorts only! If you are looking for a trip where you meet locals or check out local restaurants and architecture you will have to rent a car or take an excursion.

Melia Jardines del Rey: good value and great staff
The food was good and a good selection. There were a couple of pig roasts. Probably the best place ever to book an a la carte meal. Staff was friendly, grounds were well maintained. Really liked the coffee at the lobby bar. Able to get a good selection of coffees. Good entertainment. Rooms were large and cleaning staff did a good job. Had an issue with a clogged drain in the shower and it was taken care of right away. Was able to get a late checkout which in 15+ years of going down south we [... read more]were never able to before.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Our 5 days package
We purchased 5 days package stay in Grand Mathu Imperial: from Feb 8 to Feb 13. We came to hotel 10 pm Feb 8th and checked out 7 am Feb 13th. 5 nights and 4 days. Probably that's what it mean to purchase 5 days package...
The hotel was 1 year old and everything was brand new and clean. We liked a room we stayed (only water didn't go out of shower cabin and was running out to floor and after our complain - nobody was sent to fix it). And also in the morning of our leave we couldn't open the saf[... read more]e where we left our documents. We were scared to be late for bus but repair guy came fast - appreciate it.
Entertainment was good and we liked food.
So we give 5 with minus stars.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Objective review
This is my 3rd time at this resort and this time we stayed 2 weeks.
It is a nice resort but some maintenance is starting to show that is required to maintain the resort rating.
The grounds are well maintain.
The beach is nice but lack of chairs is becoming an issue. Availability will increase after lunch.
Towels availability was fine.
Rooms are ok but will need some updates soon as in my case, some stains in wall, couch, covers, were showing.
I will recommend the lobster lunch at the Ra[... read more]nch buffet near the beach ($20) they will set up a table for you and include a bottle of sparkling wine and you can select a bottle of wine for around $7. Talk to Eloy (captain) and Elizabetha for an excellent service and great job done by the chef aka as The Mexican. We did it twice.
The service provided by Judith and Brandys in the main lobby was excellent.
Service en general was great in all areas.
Food was good and they keep it coming.
The only negative opinion is for the restaurants, menu wasn't the greatest and why trying to make look by 5 * ended up not having the dishes in the menu and portions were so small we ended up going to the buffet for desert or some more food.
Be aware of mosquitoes ( they told me they are not mosquitoes but sand flies, which never saw them). They didn't bother us in previous visit but this time they were in abundance.
Good time and good weather.
