Riu Palace Baja California: Beautiful property!

Overall this hotel was great. The rooms, pools, amenities, view were amazing. The only negative thing I can say was that the food & service at the specialty restaurants needs to improve. Being a new property, I expect this to improve over time. Adult only was great and if you wanted to party... head next door to the Riu Sante Fe.

Riu Republica: Nice resort.

The hotel is well laid out with nice grounds and very clean. Buffets were good but the a la cartes need more sit down meals instead of buffet styles. Servers were over the top at the buffets. Pools were laid out excellent giving everyone a choice for there needs. Rooms were clean and everything worked well but they were very plain. Beach was nice but could have a little more effort in the garbage pickup there was anything from condoms, chicken bones from the barbecue restaurant and small  [... read more]sticks to cigarette butts. We were disappointed in the evening shows, not much variety there.

Riu Palace Baja California: Great rooms & pools.

The Hotel was very nice with fantastic pool/views. Many of the staff didn’t speak/understand English very well. The “Specialty Restaurants” were not very good, except for Japanese which was good. The Buffet was not too bad, however it gets “old” pretty quick. By far the best meals we had were off the resort. As it’s a new Hotel (4-5 months) I would expect it will improve over next year? Riu Caribe Cancun: Riu Caribe

One week stay mid April 2019, all the staff was very helpful and friendly. The resort was very clean our room was more than we expected very clean, king bed and fully stocked fridge and refilled every day also had a huge balcony with 2 lounges, table and 2 regular chairs. Fantastic views cost a little extra for the ocean front upper floor but was well worth it. The restaurants were in my opinion ok, the buffet had a good variety of food. Riu Palace Jamaica: Room WITHOUT a view

Beautiful hotel BUT there is a 40 foot wall separating the hotels. My view was the WALL. no water, no green, not even a palm tree - nothing but WALL. I did complain and was moved the 2nd day. Beach service was hit and miss. Towel service at the small pool opened at 10:00 a.m. not 8:00 a.m. The buffet was ok nothing spectacular but enough variety. Ala carte restaurants were SMALL and dark. For those who smoke, there is a small area which had overflowing ashtrays and empty glasses every time I went by. Turn down service happened 2 x during my 10 days. Sugar/stir sticks in the room were not replenished. there was supposed to be a "breakfast order form" for room service in the room each day. I saw one, asked for another and never got it. Also there is no hospitality room for changing before flying out. Just a room with two showers and sinks. NO Privacy at all. I will go back to Montego Bay but will choose another hotel.

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Palace is the right name for this place!

Beautiful and well maintained grounds and pools, beach is nice, entertainment is good, food is great, restaurant service was very good. The staff work very hard to keep things in good order, and the level of service is very good. Great location, not too far from the airport. A thoroughly enjoyable (second) stay at this resort.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Very nice Resort

The resort was clean and pool was kept clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Jacquie in the buffet dining room was fabulous!!! She was so nice really makes you feel good to be having dinner in her area. The food was really good. Room was huge we upgraded no problem but the air wasn't working great all week however it wasn't unbearable. I usually like cold but I was ok with the temp. Other than that fabulous place.

Riu Emerald Bay: Mediocre Resort

Staff were friendly but the resort was boring. The food was not good and lacked variety. The waiters are hard working as are the gardeners. Do not book excursions from Sunwing rep at the hotel. What a rip off as we paid for 2excursions and only received one excursion. Beach is rough. The night shows are average. Elevators are slow too. I most likely wont go back to this resort.

Riu Emerald Bay: Riu Emerald Mazatlan

This resort was average. I expect more from a Riu resort. The resort is very clean as well as the staff are very hard working and kind However, the pools were very cold and small All the pool lounges were saved before 7am so there was no where to sit. Too many floatation toys in the pool and most of all the food was mediocre. Nothing was true Mexican flavors. The Bamboo restaurant was better.

Riu Playa Blanca: Panama is AMAZING!!

The people that work at this resort are fantastic and did their best to fix any problems that we had. The weather has always been HOT and sunny and we couldn't ask for more. The food at the buffet is good, but like any other resort it is repetitive. Riu Playa Blanca also has 3 a la carte restaurants and the food there is great. There are 3 pools plus a kids pool/area. My only complaint is the small kids that were always screaming and splashing in the ADULT ONLY swim up bar pool, management needs [... read more] to post a sign that states that pool is for anyone over 16. Booking with Tripcentral is the only way to go!!! We will more than likely go to this resort again!!

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: A Paradise you won’t want to leave!

We stayed at the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres from April 17-24 and we had an amazing time. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, the resort was very clean and the food was delicious. There’s lots to do and you have full access to the resort next door for any reason you are not enjoying the entertainment. At night things close down fairly early but things are just getting started at the resort next door where you have full access to their nightclub and 24h bars. My only complaint was that t [... read more]he resort is pretty far from the hotel zone, meaning it’s about a 30min drive to most excursions, which means expensive cab rides if transportation isn’t provided. The resort is absolutely beautiful, and the food was amazing. It was very difficult to leave this paradise!

Riu Playa Blanca: Really good for the money

Hotel was very modern and clean! Staff was very friendly !!!! Night shows were very good and the food was amazing! The steak house was legit!!!! The sushi was really tastey and the Italian pasta was on point! The disco was small but good! Quiet a lot of children at this resort! And the only this we didn’t like was that yes there was a 24hrs snack bar but it was all cold pre cooked stuff and was Limited to fruit, hamburgers and nacho chips with hot cheese!!! However we WOULD go back for sure!!!

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Great Resort!

The feature that sticks out the most from our stay was the staff. Everyone was very friendly and eager to make your time there enjoyable. I have never been to a resort that was constantly cleaning...everywhere...all the time. There was never any issue getting drinks around the pool or at the beach. The staff was always very attentive and aware. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean. The only complaint is that the pillows are horrible. Riu Palace Antillas: Exceptional Service

Riu Aruba Antillias was pretty much the same as any other Riu. As far as same set up with restaurants, buffets, and entertainment. The service in all areas of the Hotel was Superb!! Staff was over the top friendly and very accommodating for anything you needed. The managers were there every day, walking around and talking to quests constantly , making sure everyone was happy. And were very interested in any comments you had. Food was great, even the wine was great! Our only complaint, and not j [... read more]ust us, but pretty well any person you spoke to. Was that the Hotel rooms were very tired and old. And in need of repair, and updating. The hotel apparently is getting renovated in the near future. We were only in our rooms to sleep anyways, so it was not a big deal. The rooms were very clean, as was the whole hotel was very clean, and cleaning staff was everywhere you looked. The beds and pillows were even pretty comfy. I would go back to this location again, as the beach was fabulous too. A very windy destination for sure. Weather was sunny and hot every single day. Never a bad day!

Riu Republica: Relaxing Vacation

We just got back from a friends vacation at the RIU Republica. We thought the resort was very good. We were a little skeptical after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, but our concerns were put to rest immediately after checking in. The staff were all very friendly and worked so hard. The grounds were immaculate, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. I didn't have a problem with the food, there is more than enough variety to choose from, but if you are a foodie this is probably not th [... read more]e place for you. We must have stayed at the ideal time (April 15 - 22) because it was very quiet (not a lot of wild young adults). The pools are kept very clean and were a good temperature. You can walk for miles along the beach, and there are no rocks or even shells, you can walk barefoot without a problem. We never had a problem finding a chair at the pool or the beach. We would certainly return to this hotel.

Riu Republica: good resort

food was good but not too many options no reservations for all carts but they rushed you in and out.butler service at the pool with George was great service at bars was excellent.majority of staff not very friendly, maid service missed 2 days of service had to call desk to get rooms made even after tipping every day.

Riu Palace Antillas: Completely amazing!

Everything was perfect! The staff were very friendly and helpful, management was visible and would question if all was ok on several occasions. The food, drinks, pool & beach were amazing. The weather.... wow.... 30°C and sunny every day... what more could we ask for?

Riu Palace Aruba: Fantastic holiday

This was our first time in Aruba, and the Riu--amazing. The food was delicious, the fruit was always fresh. The grounds very spotless. We couldn't believe the detail to cleanliness. The flight there and back were on time and smooth. Great job O'Neil.

Riu Playa Blanca: The name Riu spells quality for me. Great management with an amazing staff.

The Riu Playa Blanca is a well run resort. The grounds are well kept. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean beginning with the rooms, halls, washrooms and restaurants. This was my second stay at this resort. I have also stayed with this chain in Costa Rica and Jamaica.. This resort is about 10 minutes from the airport at Rio Hato. More vacation time at the resort and less time on the bus and at the airport. Customs processing here goes rather quickly as compared to some other destinations. [... read more] The restaurants and buffet here are very good. The chefs here put out some very delicious meals. Lots of fresh fruit, vegetables and baked goods. I especially enjoyed their lamb and fish. It is a real treat to be clapped in by staff when entering the buffet. Service was also good at the various bars. The view from the lobby bar is amazing. Booked this trip with Trip Central and flew Sunwing. Jackson and the Sunwing team are very helpful towards helping with problems and trip arrangements. Last year I went to Panama City and to the Canal. This year I did a day trip to the provincial capital to sightsee and shop. Very good service from Trip Central as well.

Riu Republica: 3.5 to 4 star resort

Overall this was a nice resort; however given it was listed as a 5 star, we were expecting more. I've done a lot of travelling to Dominican as well as other places down south such as Mexico and Jamaica and the 4 stars I've stayed at were nicer than this 5 star. The resort felt quite small and although there were daily activities, they weren't listed anywhere so you only knew about them if you happened upon them. Originally our room was on the party side of the resort near the bar and we were not able to sleep our first night with the music and drunk people yelling down the halls at 3am. We asked to be moved to the quieter side of the resort and then we had a much better time. We very much appreciated their accommodation of this request. The service was excellent. Every staff member definitely cares you enjoy your stay and they go above and beyond. The food was pretty good but it was the same thing served for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day in the main buffets. Because some of the specialty restaurants were buffet style, there weren't many actually a la cartes to choose from. On the plus side the beach was beautiful, the pools were great, there were always lawn chairs to choose from, the resort was very clean and the rooms were well maintained.
