Grand Memories Varadero: Great value

This was my second time coming to this resort. Overall great experience , rooms are nice and spacious. Pools are clean and big. Ocean is just a walk away. Staff are awesome, lots of activities to do even if you want to stay on the resort. Only thing was the food, not many fish options or even vegetarian options.

Playa Vista Azul: Great Resort

This s a beautiful resort friendly staff. Only issue is the food wait staff are good. All the bar staff helpful, the grounds all clean and keep. The beach clean. Everyone helpful the rooms are very nice also.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great resort! Great time!

My sister and I stayed at Iberostar Daiquiri Cuba June 13-20. It was my second time and even better. Great weather. The resort was so clean, the food so plentiful and varied, the à la cart restaurants were great. We even had lobster. They cleaned the pools daily and the pools were great as was the beach. Coffee at the front bar was the best. And the staff were so friendly and amazing, Raina the housekeeper, Raul at the front desk, Yurisbey at the buffet, Juan Manuel at the Mexican restaurant,  [... read more]Mariamella our concierge and Debray at the bar- all friendly and forgiving of our bad Spanish. Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: A friendly and comfortable resort.

This resort has so many good things l enjoyed in it. I know there are plans to renovate the lobby which l am looking forward to seeing this in my next visit. The people are kind and helpful. They do their best at what ever area in the resort they work. All to make our stay pleasant and memorable.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Lovely vacation

We spent a week at Royalton Hicacos. I've been to Cuba many times and I think it's one of the best Cuba has to offer. The grounds are so well kept with mature vegetation, beautiful flowers and exotic plants. I loved the cottage feeling of the resort. There are plenty of intimate spots, caves, beautiful furniture and a gazebo. The food was good. I [... read more]t wasn't crowded, so we never had to wait long. Mangoes are so delicious at this time of the year! The ice cream shop is wonderful as well! We were blessed to have Naylet as our butler, she is such a delightful young woman, who genuinely cares about guests having the best time. She organized all our a la carte dinners, decorated our room for my birthday and set a beautiful beach seafood dinner for a romantic night. I felt very special! She was always checking on us if we needed anything! All of the workers are very welcoming and always greet you with a smile. Special thanks to Sonivid at the buffet restaurant, she's a gem! She was our favorite waitress! We were not a part of the Dymond Club and never felt excluded. Mosquitos! They are there, we put deet 30% spray, and lotion and still got a lot of bites! It's better than in Cayo Coco but still take care. There's a pharmacy where you can buy basic medications such as Ibuprofen or Benadryl and hydrocortisone cream. The beach is gorgeous, it's a paradise! The guys always help you to set up the umbrellas with sunbeds. Right on a beach there's a hut with drinks flowing and if you want they bring drinks directly to your spot. The lobby bar is very modern with great service and a variety of amazing cocktails and coffee. Loved the musical bands every night and the opera night. Very talented artists! If you like Cuba you'll enjoy your vacation. It's a Cuban 5-star hotel, not a world-class luxury, keep it in mind. We met a lot of cool people from all over the world. I recommend!

Blau Varadero: Cockroaches

The hotel was full of cockroaches almost everywhere, even in the restaurant and I was really upset with that especially when you’re about to serve yourself with food and the cockroaches are playing around on the table or on the floor. It was a bad experience even though it wasn’t first time going to the same hotel, but overall I like this hotel, but not with cockroaches in it.

Vila Gale Cayo Paredon: Outstanding resort with A1 service

This amazing resort with 7 three floor interconnecting blocks is without a doubt the best in all of the past 12 trips to Cuba. It's modern, clean and each block is central to all stations. We had room 5210 overlooking the pool and ocean. The rooms were very clean, towels were replenished daily, and sufficient hot water for showers. The resort has 1 large activity pool, 1 family pool for relaxing with a kiddie pool as well as a breathtaking infidelity pool overlooking the ocean. Plenty of cha [... read more]irs available at the pool and beach. The grounds are well kept with wonderful artwork done with rocks. The beach is simply great with no rocks. Sea weeds are raked daily by the staff and the beach bar is close by. One can take a nice walk on the beach towards the Grand Aston hotel, whose beach has plenty of rocks and further down a Russian hotel. The food was also great. There was no shortage of eggs, bread, or meats and fruits. Although it was repetitive, we alternated nightly for having variety. The desert table could have had more variety. There were 4 a la carte restaurants: Cuban, Italian, Portuguese and Mediterranean. The first three are highly recommended. Due to the off season there was only one snack bar and one main buffet open, although there are plenty of buffets and snack bars all over the resort. The lobby bar and coffee bar is simply great to relax on comfy seats or tables. The staff were all very accommodating and hospitable everywhere we went. We were there from June 11-18 and there was no crowds which was a relief. The only downside was the presence of the pesky mosquitoes in the early morning and evening when there is no wind. Although, the staff do spray the grounds and a crop duster plane sprays by air you definitely need a highly effective bug spray with deep.

Melia Costa Rey: Awesome resort and experience

This was an absolutely awesome vacation . I would consider my self as some what picky and this resort meet all my exceptions. I was a little worried before going because I heard some of the resorts had shortage problems. No issues here at all .Very very clean , Great food , Nice rooms , beautiful beaches and Pools . Very friendly staff . We will be booking next year as well

Barcelo Solymar: Terrible resort

I have been to the resort a few times and it has never been up to the standards it used to have. It is only the staff( which I have become close friends with) that there is a reason to go there. The pool had to be closed one day because the water was green and cloudy and had to be cleaned. Buffet was below standard as was expected ( ate off resort most days).I was in a bungalow which was fine but heard the main hotel rooms were pretty bad. Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort

We enjoyed our family vacation here so much. The staff were so friendly and attentive, we honestly cant say enough good things. The beach was breathtaking, we highly recommend bringing your own snorkel there is such amazing sea life to see. We had great experiences with the food, we loved the snack bar for lunch as they served fresh pizza and many other things. The second pool we found very nice if you have smaller kids its quieter. We had a few small issues with the room, staff were helpful in wanting to fix these problems. We definitely be going back, we loved it.

Tryp Cayo Coco: great resort stayed June 8th to 15th

Sol Palmeras: Good resort

The resort was decent. Food was ok. We changed rooms 3 times. The first room was a bungalow and infested with ants everywhere. There were even a few nest looking things in the bungalow. The second room also had a ton of ants, but we got put in a 3rd room because the room above us flooded. But it was a relief to get away from the ants and the 3rd room was ant free. I also got a ton of bites. I think from sand fleas, but I would always notice them after I woke in the morning. It was really brutal. [... read more] They were swollen and oozing. The staff were pretty great. Cheerful and accommodating. Overall, it was good.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Nice memory from Memories Caribe Cayo Coco-Cuba

June 2024 My wife and I spent 7 days at Memories Caribe Cayo Coco resort in Cuba. Weather was perfect, room was nice and the beach….perfect! The only big complain is not the food, which anyone knows how it is ….hey, is Cuba, but flies were everywhere on the food! Not one or two but LOTS of them. We have intended to eat lots of fruits but forget it! No air conditioned in the main buffet, spoons and forks we waited at the empty table to be served with. Happily we didn’t miss the eggs which saved our lunch daily. Now let’s talk the positive part which saved our entire moral for the whole vacation. I am talking about excellent, very nice and kind persons like Cowan Marin Yanelis from public relation office, or Mme Yusmilba from BEANS Café who made REAL coffee for us, greeting you always with a smile on her face, polite and professional approach. Also Alisnei the barman on the beach was excellent, polite, always with a smile and greeting you. Junior also from BITES was doing excellent ton or chicken sandwiches! Miguel from Route 66, thank you for all your super drinks! In conclusion guys you will choose if you go or not I have told you only my experience for this trip. At the end I want to congratulate AIT TRANSAT which had done an excellent flight but their aircrafts were real luxury with leather seats and chair screens, Thank you to the stewardess OCEANE who proved to me and my wife an real professional employee and a very nice character .GO FOR IT AIR TRANSAT!!!Keep doing the same excellent job. Melia Cayo Coco: We loved the Melia

Everything was kept spotless while we were there, the people including all the workers were excellent to my husband and I. The breakfast in the morning was the best as our table was always set and we went off to pick up what we liked for breakfast . After being seated we went off to pick up what we wanted for breakfast and the chef would make it for us , going back to or table which was set for us and we had our water in the morning , for lunch and supper we had the same courtesy but we co [... read more]uld have wine as well , after being spoiled by our servers we went off to see the ocean . Sanctuary White Sands: Enjoyable Get Away to Sanctuary Whitesands

Newer hotel so everything is clean and fresh. What's best about Cuba are the people and they didn't disappoint. As the hotel is new some of the staff I don't think have a good idea of what to do; most evident in the snack bar. Probably not their fault as I suspect a training issue. With some good training and management oversight. I don't expect this would be a long term concern. Bartenders are experienced and know their stuff so that base is covered. Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Our home away from home

The best hotel in Cuba. Amazing staff. Good food. Clean. We have been here many times. It's like going home to us. We go 2 to 3 times a year. I would recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for an at home feeling.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Amazing Beach

We have been going to this Hotel for the past 10 years and have always thoroughly enjoyed the beach, staff and close proximity to everything. We have specifically enjoyed the talent. Cuba has amazing talent which we absolutely love the singers and instruments they play. Entertainment was lacking due to the lack of gas to get the performers to the hotel which was disappointing but can't be helped under the circumstances. I have to say this trip offered its usual amazing beach. Because of the [... read more] time of year, there were very few Canadians with the majority being Cubans from within Cuba and Miami. Due to shortages, the food on the buffet was disappointing. The various restaurants were okay. They had lobster, lots of chicken legs, lamb which we don't usually eat but was really good, pork and some beef. We celebrated our 53rd anniversary and I have to say they outdid themselves in a fabulous dinner by the beach. Their dinner for returning guests was also amazing. We all know you don't go to Cuba for the food. We go for the fabulous beaches and the people. If you understand they are going through rough times and have no control over the shortages which impedes the quality of service, then enjoy. We had more than enough food and the necessities. Madelaine the Manager tried very hard to make our stay memorable and I thank her for all she did.

Playa Pesquero: Great resort & Beautiful beach.

Playa pesquero is a beautiful resort. The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. The resort is massive and can probably accomodate 1000+ people. There is a good deal of walking. 2-7 mins from hotel room to beach for example depending on where your room is. As always with Cuba, you have to go with the flow for the food since there are always shortages. For example we had eggs for the first half of the vacation. Otherwise the food was good and you won't starve. Ice cream everyday, pasta [... read more], hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken pork and fish, etc. The beach here is especially beautiful. The water is not turbulent sue to where the beach is located which is great to swim in. You can snorkel ok one side of the beach and see many beautiful fish. The staff were all very nice. This is our 2nd time here and we will definitely be back. Note the bus ride is about 1 hour to get here, but it goes by quickly.

Paradisus Los Cayos: Avoid

This resort was a mistake and perhaps so was Cuba as a destination. Food shortages almost daily (bread being main one). Very limited menu (usually fish, rice and some veg daily). Resort was 75% empty during March break. Beach and pool was nice. Room was decent (few issues but were fixed). Wouldn’t go back again or recommend.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Above Average Cuban Resort.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable time at Grand Aston June 6 to 13, 2024. The resort is fairly new and the design of the rooms and the public spaces is modern and colorful. We had no problems with the shortages we heard of at other resorts, Full range of liquor available, cocktails, wine, beer was steady, had omelets for breakfast every morning, pools were clear and in good shape. This resort catches nice ocean breezes in several areas. Of course the staff make the place, we had friendly ser [... read more]vice in the Lobby bar, the pool bar, from our room stewards, and particularly in the "Snack bar" which is really a full service bar with restaurant service that changes throughout the 24 hours it is open. We had one meal at the Cuban A La Carte, we all enjoyed it, we had some great meals at the Buffet, grilled chicken, fresh fried rice, Pasta of the day, some days we weren't into it. We ate often at the "Snack Bar" Our 'cons' are few: The beach is beautiful, and better for small children and sailing, but we missed the waves of the "main" beach on C. Santa Maria, - that's a preference. Some of the entertainment was louder than we like, with shouting to raise energy and v. high overdrive. We liked the guitar player and the sax player in the lobby and the more traditional Cuban/Latin music rather than the EDM/Techno versions. Lots of other people including the Cuban guests seemed to like it just fine. We would have liked to be in the Adults-only section since we were all adults, how to get there wasn't clear to us when we booked or when we got there, but when they told us we couldn't have a drink at the adult pool because we had the wrong wrist band, though we were clearly adults, that put us off a bit. In closing we had superb service, but best of all from Enrique and the team at the Snack Bar: friendly, professional, excellent food and drink - make that your main stop and enjoy. We all want to go back.
