NYX Hotel Cancun: Honest Review

This resort met our expectations based on the price we paid. Rooms: We were in an un-renovated Junior Suite - These suites are advertised as having a balcony and ocean view. We did not have a balcony and all of our windows were located on public stairwells (so we had to keep our blinds closed the entire week). The first night our air conditioner didn't work but that was promptly fixed. However, our room smelled of strong sewer for 3 of the days. Front desk staff were a waste of time. I spo [... read more]ke with them most days as to the condition of our room and they were very rude and extremely unhelpful. These employees were the worst part of the resort experience. It seems that they deal with dissatisfied customers regularly and have become desensitized to the situation. Very frustrating. The beach and wait staff were incredible and made our vacation! These people work incredibly hard to please everyone and deserved all the tips they received. Food and drinks from your beach chair was a huge plus! The Nachos were amazing! The food was average. The fresh egg station at breakfast was great but the rest of the breakfast options were lacking. Lunch was the best meal! There was a large menu to order from and was very tasty. There was no buffet at lunch but this wasn't an issue for us. Dinner was the worst meal of the day. There was a small buffet with appetizers and desserts but the rest of the dinner was a menu with limited options each night (generally 5 options based on a theme). Italian was the one night that we enjoyed the main course. The drinks were great! Always had great flavour and a large variety of options. The main pool was older but right on the beach and was warm. There was no swim up bar but this was not an issue for us. The waves were large on the beach (but it's Cancun and thats to be expected). I was up with the sunrise each morning so getting beach chairs and shade were not an issue for us. But if you are not an early riser you will struggle to find shade (most chairs with shade were taken by about 7am). Overall, I would consider going to this resort again, but only if we were guaranteed a renovated master suite. I would not go to an un-renovated room again.

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: What an amazing week!

We stayed here march 28-April 4 Our trip was amazing the service was outstanding. Yea we had 40 min wait for room service but no different than anywhere else I've been too. Rooms were amazing amenities were amazing and staff was always willing to serve with a smile. We tipped all the servers $1 and tipped our bar tender at the pool $5 at the start of the day and continued to bring drinks all day long. Food was best I have had yet in Mexico, dinners were yummy and well served. We ate at  [... read more]the Japanese place 2 times ( not really sure why people complain about lines you ever gone to the keg on a Saturday night lol) Rooms - provides the standard soap and shampoo but also bug spray and sun screen. Netflix works great and you can order a bunch of different pillows Pools get warm - got no less than 80. Get up early for a towel directly beside the pool (again same as any other resort I have been to) Only negative is night life was blah. Disco had my group of 6 and no one else lol. Highly recommend the bike ride as it was AMAZING got to pet wild monkeys and parrots (only tip required) We stayed in ocean view room (8509) high vaulted ceilings with couch and jacuzzi in the balcony than upgraded to ocean front swim 7225 and it has an incredible view and beautiful pool

Dreams Sands Cancun Resort and Spa: Excellent 2 week Vacation

Hotel dated but very clean. Staff were extremely friendly and provided excellent customer service. Food was fantastic at buffet and the a l'Carte restaurants. Beach was gorgeous and right there soon as you walked out of the hotel. Swam in the ocean everyday. Enjoyed yoga daily and water aerobics. Travelled as a couple Mar28 - Apr 4 ( with a group of 46, from Ottawa,) (Travel arrangements with Trip Central-Rachel Lennie- Mktg , and accompanied by Manager, Groups , Barry Tomlinson) Room 8325 - Oceanview- Awesome , perfect, good location The staff at the resort are all top notch, friendly and timely service, and good memory for what your favourite cocktail / cervesa was!!! Alot of kids at this resort, which of course greatly reduces any chance of obtainin [... read more]g a lounger after 830 am., and forget about snagging a palapa- The number of large families greatly outnumbered us "couples" - and explained why for any type of adult entertainment - piano bar, music , non-existant- unless you go to Secrets next door. Room service every morning 730 am sharp -yes, always exactly on time!! And so easy to order (the evening before, using ensuite ipad!) Impressive service. Beach was very, very nice, and....once you passed by Secrets(next door)......... endless white sand beach with no resorts ! Windy though, so remember the return walk-into the wind- ha, ha. (just take an extra cervesa with you) The grounds and landscaping at this resort are perfect-beautiful. I guess the new era of "boutique hotels/resorts" has also hit Mexico! - miss the vibrant /bright "mexican colours" like we've seen in past! And yes, I miss the beach vendors -where you could get a couple of Tshirts,and a coverup for $7. Rather than the resort store - wanted $25US - for one ,,,,,no bartering ! Oh, and $21CDN for bag of chips!!!! And be sure and bring lots of sunscreen, pills, bandaids etc - no shopping at all except for the mega overpriced store - We are not big or fussy eaters so I dont want to comment too much on the restaurants, none were really anything spectacular, dont know why they dont have an Italian one (although there is one at Secrets.)

Grand Oasis Sens: Great place for adults!

This was my first adults only resort I have ever stayed at. Not having to worry about kids being around really helps with relaxing. Prepare to get up very early to reserve yourself a beach or pool side chair, this vital if your not the best with the sun. Book your restaurants asap, I highly recommend sakura, the food pallete was great. Moonlight for lunch or dinner is a great option for Italian food. Lots of stairs so be prepared.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Good party resort

Food was great. Party atmosphere. Rooms are little outdated and beds not comfortable. Room service was really bad. Have to call them so many times to get anything especially water. Oasis beach club is great place for parties. No bar in the room.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Delivers as advertised in the way of the entertainment resort

Pros Beautiful Beach, excellent restaurants and food, friendly staff, beautiful grounds, plenty of entertainment. Cons Terrible room, plumbing was failing, tub not draining foul smell, even after maintenance had been in, no pictures, cracks in ceiling walls, floors chipped, vanity chipped, had to purchase a lock for the safe and then return it with no refund, extremely loud party goers passing thru building and by room all night long. Sandos Cancun: Perfect balance of fun and relaxation!

Sandos Cancún was perfect for my s/o and I looking for a quite getaway with a bit of entertainment on the side. It's a smaller hotel which makes for a very intimate atmosphere. It's not 19+ but there are no kids areas or activities which meant there were only a handful of kids while we were there. Not being adults only also seems to discourage the rowdy young adults from staying here too. We honestly only had one gripe during our stay which was with the staff of the teppanyaki restaurant. Th [... read more]e server was completely rude and inhospitable the whole time making that night the worst of our entire vacation, which is really unfortunate since the rest of the staff at the resort are amazing and I can't stress that enough. That one bad person is completely overshadowed by everyone else who were just beyond friendly and helpful to us. Other than that, all our expectations of the rooms, amenities, and dinning were fully met based on the descriptions online. We highly recommend this resort and might consider a second stay in the future.

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: Dreams Resort in Cancun

This new and amazing resort was a DREAM to go to!! The rooms are great and beds are comfortable. A really nice perk to have Pringles and M&M's to snack on. The pressure of the water for the shower was great, actually didn't take long to rinse out the shampoo. The view from the balcony in our room was special, we go there to see the ocean and it was nice to see it first thing in the morning. They supply you with everything you need; shampoo, body lotion, soap, razor, SPF, tooth paste and even a t [... read more]ooth brush!! You can actually leave home with just your clothes and everything will be there. I love that you don't have to booked in advance for "a la carte" restaurant. The longest we waited was 15 minutes and that was for the Japanese (which is the most popular). ALL the drinks were great (even the red wine was good) and the servers were exceptionally friendly. Every time I turned around I had another drink without even asking................lol. If you want to be lazy, it is the place to go; they serve you on the beach, at the pool and even undo your bed for you to go to bed!! The grounds are very clean and nice. This is a new resort so all the plants and several palm trees are still small but it will be beautiful in a few more years. The beach is long which is nice to take long walks. Several pools on the resort and the infinity pool was to my opinion the best (love looking at the ocean). The food was extremely good and you don't leave hungry. The only small thing that I can say is that they had no peanut butter.........but really who cares about that?? :) Dolce which is the ice parlor had the best cappuccinos and lattes. I also loved the fact that they opened at 6am because I'm an early riser so I would take a walk and grab a fresh baked good and cappuccino.................YUMMY!! Another great perk they had was the unlimited use of beach towels. I don't have anything negative to say about this resort, they have done an excellent job. I know why they call it "DREAMS"..........it truly is!!

Riu Cancun: We love this resort. Visited for a 2nd time

This resort is very clean. Everyone at the resort works hard to help everyone. Food was good. Grounds very clean. Very nice people, hospitable. The only thing that is lacking is the night shows. They need to improve on this area. We enjoyed the grounds, the pools the beach. Very nice to have view of the sea from every room. We could go back for another holiday.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Great party 🎉

We stayed 9 days hade a fabulous time.food and drink is ok but nothing special. Pools are great beach is great. Z and big papa will have you in the party atmosphere all day at the beach club. Bottom line if you want to party it's for you. Cons..bad money exchange leave you waiting in the dark...high fee for a room safe..high fee for internet.

Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa: Amazing resort

The Dreams Playa Mujeres was excellent. The grounds were clean and staff were very friendly. Food was excellent, lots of verity with having access to Secrets. The entertainment was great esp Mexican night. It was nice having bands play around pool during the day as well as in the evening. We are beach people, it was windy so seaweed, the grounds people worked hard to keep it clean. Great beach to walk. The golf course was great, beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks.

Grand Oasis Palm: Amazing resort

Great hotel, very clean comfortable room, bonus for us,we were on the 2nd floor. Beach and restaurant staff were awesome, so many restaurants to choose from...17 in total and you only have to make reservations for 2 of them . Great beach soft white sand, some seaweed...didn't keep us out of the water 💦 Overall a great vacation, would definitely recommend this hotel

Grand Oasis Sens: Good service resort

On our first day at the resort we were given a room on the 2nd floor that was musty smelling, with dark hallways and view of bushes and a cement wall. After speaking at length with management we were moved to a much nicer area on the 7th floor. Also we did not know that the location for the breakfast and supper buffet did not have an elevator but only lots of steps, which my wife found very challenging due to her limited mobility. Occidental Costa Cancun: Amazing time had by all!

We were a group of 7 friends ranging in age of 37-57. I've previously been to Varadaro, La Romana, Jamaica, Bahamas and Mayan Riveria. This place was right up there as a top 3 favorite. First of all the staff are amazing! Everyone was so friendly and hard working. The food was incredible. We never had a problem finding something we liked. The restaurants were really good as well, however, the reservation system is horrible. Getting up at 6:30am on my vacation is not my idea of fun but if you wan [... read more]ted a reservation, you had to be in the lobby this early. The rooms are nice and the beds are very comfortable. The minibar was stocked every day with beer and other drinks. We had a small patio but we were hardly in our room so this didn't matter. My only complaint about the room was there was no insulation around the door (you could see outside all around the door). We could hear all the traffic outside which sucked for sleeping. The resort is small but we never had a problem finding a good seat on the beach or at the pool and we were 7 people (it was a lot busier our last day April 8th because everyone was coming for Easter), but still not a problem. We loved hanging out on the beach and watching all the water traffic. There is no place to get drinks past 12 midnight on this resort. Everything closes early so if you like to stay up late drinking, this might not be the resort for you. I didn't have an issue because I rarely saw midnight (too much day drinking, lol). It is extremely easy to hop on a bus outside the resort or take a cab into town if you want to party it up. Highly recommend Coco Bongo, it was an amazing show! Everyone was complaining there was no free wifi. Although it might have been a nice perk, I didn't mind because it was good to disconnect. I checked my email once a day using the free wifi next door :) If you hang out over by the volleyball court or get a nice seat out on the patio at the buffet, you can pick up the wifi at the bar next door. We booked a catamaran tour through Luiz (located where you get the kayaks, etc.) and went to Isle Majueres, snorkeling, had lunch and unlimited drinks for $65 US pp. Great deal! Luiz is amazing to deal with! I would return to this resort in a heartbeat. It was exactly what we were hoping for and more. I already miss the mojitos and cappuccinos!

NYX Hotel Cancun: OK

the Hotel was beautiful and the room was great. The negative side was that the tv reception was poor and the food was hit or miss and was served cold most of the time. The staff were very good but were over worked . I do not think I would go back.

The Pyramid Cancun: Beautiful Resort

The resort was lovely but the timing was not good. Still a lot of spring break parties and it was very noisy and and not relaxing. The drinks at the pool were not to my liking and the only place you could get drinks was at the swim up bars that were packed with intoxicated spring breakers ! The room was clean and comfortable but there were water leaks in several rooms and the hallway was littered with wet towels and mattresses. Grand Oasis Palm: Talk about a blast

I enjoyed myself and my family at this resort. We went there to relaxe and enjoy the beach and sun. We chose the to bring children so, I felt there was lots of activities for everyone to enjoy or if you chose to vacation and just have have you your family keep to yourselves and do off resort day excursions like a tour to see Chichen Itza. Smart Cancun By Oasis: Nice place

The location of the hotel is central. Not far away from the airport and also close to the zona hotelria. Staff was great and helpful. Really charming, can communicate in English. The maids always cleaned the room properly and did a really good job. The room we had was spacious and big. The bed was really confortable. A real king size bed. Dining is ok. Good good. Excellence Playa Mujeres: 2nd time just as good as 1st

There is a reason 90% of the people you talk to at this resort have been to either somewhere else in the excellence chain or have been to EPM before. They never disappoint and are always looking for ways to make your trip better. Will be going back for a 3rd 4th and 5th time.
