Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta: Excellent resort

Excellent food, clean rooms, very friendly staff especially beach servers. Negative is not enough pool and beach chairs to accommodate all the guests. Not ideal to be on holiday and have to get up and be at beach or pool very early in morning in order to "reserve" chair. Beach lounges are old and uncomfortable.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: A great resort to relax

Very well kept grounds,pool areas and beach. Alot of changes since my last visit.Some not so good in my eyes.Staff cannot do enough for you.Especially Eric in the dining room.Always a big smile to go along with great service.A quiet resort.

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Dated but still good.

This property is in need of a renovation. The being said, the food and drinks were good, and the service was exceptional. We enjoyed some of the best evening entertainment I've ever seen in Mexico. Good central location with awesome sunsets. Viva Mexico!

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Great Resort

Just back from a week at This Melia. We really enjoy this resort, it was not too big which is what we as a seniior couple like. Absolutely no complaints about the staff, the manager, or the lovely doctor on site who had to come and administer to me for a problem, which wasn't serious i might add. The location couldn't be better, near a lovely marina and close to the local bus. A bonus was the proximity to the airport. Overall, the place is very clean and the a la carte restaurants very good.

Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills: Quiet resort with lots of potential

Not quite a 5 star but definitely a 4. The food was ok, small selection at the buffet, a la cartes were better. Japanese a la carte was our least favourite and the Italian was the best. Pool bar and room service was excellent. We were surprised with an upgrade to a villa with a private pool which was the best surprise ever. We spent 90% of our time here and it wasn't beautifully peaceful and private. For a 5 star I expect zero bugs. We walked to the beach from the hotel one day in about 35 minutes, it was a nice walk through the town. This resort is about 30 mins from puerto Vallarta in good traffic, which is further out then we would normally stay but worth the experience. Majority of the hotel staff as phenomenal including Pablo in conceierge and Victor in management, they made our vacation. Overall I feel like this hotel could potentially be a 5 star with a few tweaks but a solid 4 is what it currently is.

Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit: Really nice vacation but Air Transit really sucks

Dreams Villamagna in Nuevo Vallarta was a great resort. While getting on in age the food was extremely good and the staff awesome. The service and atmosphere was positive and friendly. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Sunquest did a great job too however Air Transit has proven once again their ability to ruin your vacation. Last time we fly via Air Transit we swore we would never use them as our flight carrier. Well being a family vacation with people coming from different location [... read more]s we ended on Air Transit. what a mistake! First off they sub out the flight to a second class carrier called Flair Air. We paid for a direct flight 5 hours to our destination however after getting on board we are told that they have to go to Vancouver to get fuel. Really? We are at an international airport with other planes leaving direct on 4 hour flights so now why do we end up on a 7.5 hour flight having a stop over in Vancouver. Cause fuel must be cheaper there and what does Flair Air care or Air Transit. Horrible air line and never again.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Great Family Resort

We stayed at the Grand Palladium from Jan 21-28. Overall we really liked this resort. Pros: - People of Palladium keep you very entertained whether it's at the beach, pool or theatre. - the kids club was great. They have a great guide that lays out what the children do daily and they have things for the kids to get involved in at night. My daughter loved the "Mini Shows". - loved the beach. The water is very pretty and if you walk further down the beach there are surfers and pebbly beach [... read more]es. - the bell boys always went above and beyond. Always smiling and willing to help out with whatever you need. - buffet food had a lot of variety. - loved the Bamboo and Mexican restaurants. - absolutely loved that it was outside of Puerto Vallarta. There are so many cute smaller towns around to check out. - pools and kids watersliding - awesome! The kids didn't want to leave the pool because of the slides. We never got to hang at the adult pool but it looked really nice and a more quiet place to hangout. Cons: - rooms are not that nice. For a family of 4, we had 2 double beds. Beds were super uncomfortable. They are getting a little run down but honestly we didn't hang in the room that much so it really wasn't an issue. - reservations at the restaurants were non-existent or at least it was for us. Heard you could download an app for reservations but it wouldn't work for me, always saying they were fully booked. In saying that though, we did get to go 4 times. What we found was because we had the kids we had to eat earlier so we would go between 5:30 - 6 and always get in. - service at the main buffet was very hit or miss. One day it would be amazing and the next we barely got a drink to go with our food and plates would be piling up on the table. Last note: There are so many comments about the resort being hilly and spread out. It definitely is but they do have ramps for wheelchairs access. The resort has a lot to offer that is why it is spread out. It was nice to walk and get some exercise.

Riu Flamingos: Awesome time

Great place. Great staff. Super helpful. Food was good, alacarts were great, except for the steakhouse it was not great. But if you want incredible steak go to alberta lol! Way more value than what I paid for. The resort was well cleaned and the staff worked hard to keep it that way It is an older place but well maintained

Crown Paradise Club: Great vacation

We found the crown paradise club in puerto Vallarta To be a good choice for a family vacation. It's a good value and is in a convenient location. The food is okay. The drinks are great. My 7 year old son loved it.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Beautiful location

Loved our stay at the Grande Paladium. Good food with good service most of the time. Lots of activities to participate in. Great place to take kids, with the Kids Club and the kids pool. Our room left a little more to be desired. From a dirty tub and sink, to a floor that was never swept or washed the whole week. The room smelt musty, that got worse when the air conditioner was turned on. We asked to be moved closer to our daughters family and were told to return the next morning. Upon returning [... read more] the next morning we were told to return the following morning. Then we were told that we could not be moved due to Booking thru tripcentral. They didn't want tripcentral to think we had been unhappy with our room, lol.

Villas Vallarta by Canto del Sol: Outdated

The resort was old and needs an upgrade. Surprized that 80% of the guests were seniors. I guess this is what a 3 rating provides. Glad the restaurants were at Canto Del Sol. We needed an upgrade just to get a fridge for water. Two small bottles of water provided every 3 days is a waste. We had to purchase our own at Mega. The bed was on four large wheels and would roll back and forth when ever you moved. They were doing a major renovation in the room next door and was noisy all day. The pool are [... read more]a was nice and liked the bar. The Sunwing representative did his best to get us a better room.

Riu Vallarta: Great vacation place

Loved the beach and the weather, hotel was great too, rooms were clean and nice view, food was Ok but wine was not really drinkable. Hotel staff was very friendly. We ended up renting bicycles through hotel and loved the visit into Boseria - great friendly Canadian bicycle rental shop.

Crown Paradise Club: Good value family resort

I have been coming to puerto Vallarta for many years. This is one of the better value resorts. Food is good, rooms are nice, beach and pools are great! Service is good, but not as good as some Pv hotels in the same category like the Canto del sol. Only go if you have young kids.

Riu Flamingos: Enjoyable resort.

Just returned from the Riu Jalisco on Saturday early morning. Room was a average room but clean and comfortable. We had a broken shower handle that we asked for it to be fixed and it was done in the three hours we were on the beach. I would suggest that you ask for a room on the south side of the building as our room was very dark and tended to feel damp until the air was on for an hour. Food was very good, fresh fish and salad was our go to everyday but there is lots of other choices to choo [... read more]se from. The hotel is on a long stretch of beach that is wonderful to walk on. At the hotel there is lots of room for the sun worshippers and the shade from the palm trees. There are waves everyday that you can boogie board on. We went on a trip to Sayulita in a cab to see the surrounding area, lots of fun for a day trip and very reasonably priced. Only complaint, sometimes it appeared that they were short staffed and it took a bit to get served but we were on vacation so we relaxed and waited. Great value for the price.

Plaza Pelicanos Club: three stars

staff were always helpful..if you tipped the room was very basic..we had washcloths turned into swans and flower petals ...if we tipped the pool was small, no beach access and not enough chairs and loungers for guests the food was good but they served the same things all week. we spent most of our time off this resort as it was not what we expected.

Riu Flamingos: Excellent resort

Awsome resort, nice lay out good food, excellent staff, will go back for sure,, only downside is the flight by sunwing,, delayed , misinformed, 1 stop for fuel when its supposed to be non stop , thumbs down to sunwing

Riu Palace Pacifico: the resort was excellent

The workers in the hotel were always very polite and nice and try to there best knowledge to help us. the Hotel is very very clean and our room was beautiful. I have no complain just to let you know I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The only thing is the hotel is far from the city. But for one week it was great. We did the city tour.excellent. Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Jan 4-18, 2017

The hotel is located 6 blocks from the Malecon. Easy walking distance. The local buses are very easy to get around on from this location. The hotel staff was very friendly and were always helpful. Food was good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to PV.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Wonderful Time

Royal Decameron was delightful spot nice lawns, palm trees, clean pools & very friendly staff everywhere. Clean rooms and all areas, common areas dated (cushions have been well-loved) but great friendly people (Canadians mostly), many returning year after year. Good food overall. Close to cute town, evening shows were top-rate for costuming/choreograpy. All very casual/family friendly. Hola!

Riu Vallarta: Best place

We just got back from Riu Vallarta, it was very clean, food was great and the animation team was a lot of fun, never a dull moment if you were looking for excitement. beach was wonderful, drinks served right on the beach, it was a really good holiday, I would definetly go back her next holiday and probably stay ten days, Highly recommended..... nothing but good things here, Karen
