Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great trip

The property is well maintained and well laid out. Beach is beautiful with sandy water and little seaweed. Food was better than most areas we have been in Cuba. Have been going to Cuba for 16 years at least once or twice a year. Probably one of the best rooms we have had. Not all rooms are renovated yet so make sure to ask for a renovated room. Better to be up 2 Nd floor as bottom rooms seem to be damp and musty in some buildings. Our experiences have always been that the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in other places so this was not expected. Cleanliness is our number one issue and it was clean!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Beautiful resort

Considering we never wanted to visit Mexico with all the bad things you hear it was very beautiful and the resorts are very protected they really do care about the tourists , the resort was hudge and there is trollies to take you around if need be put the grounds are outstanding even driving in to the resort , some wild life roaming around Peacocks, swans , all kinds of birds , cotis , beach was great some days see weed put not smelly or over run and they clean it up all the time, only t [... read more]hing is it's not a long walking beach as there is 4 other sister resorts and thats about the size of the beach , the food was really good lots of choices and they change it up often, the room we had was close to the beach a walkout it was a little dark and need some repairs , put it was close to the pool and the breakfast buffet which was a great walk in the morning going though the palms and pathways was soo gorgeous. The entertainment was fantastic best I have seen at a resort, Overall it was a lot of fun and the have no mayor complaints, people are wonderful and very accomadating, , I would return to Mexico forsure and try another resort just because we don't go to the same one ever,

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Good experience and Great service!

This resort was a good resort. The service was amazing! The people who worked there were very friendly. The golf course was challenging. The beach was beautiful and well maintained. It was very busy but easy to find beds and chairs at the beach. The food was better at the buffet than most of the specialty restaurants however, with the exception of the Mediterrainien Restaurant which was very good! The rooms were only average. The resort is older but well maintained. The bathrooms were tiny however. Good facilities with lots of shopping and a casino. Truly the girls are not friendly at the casino but in resorts are they ever really? So overall good but not the best and not the worst. The service and the people pushed this resort from average to good for me. Carlos at the buffet restaurant was amazing and the people on his team. Everyone who worked there was friendly and nice! Happy people working there for sure! Made the stay even better!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Very good resort

Beautiful resort well looked after although they didn’t replace the broken iron in the room reported the first day or the TV. Food was adequate we didn’t go hungry, the cheese was excellent. The al cartel restaurants were good, maid service was god. Friendly staff.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Fantastic Resort

Best resort I have experienced in the 10+ years we have gone to the Cancun area. Top notch service and consistant service/entertainment. Very clean resort, pool, room, restaurants. Do not like the requirement to write at least 200 characters.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great resort!

This resort is a great bang for your buck. The staff is so friendly as well the entertainment. The grounds are beautiful and the beach is amazing. The biggest beach I’ve seen in Cuba. The rooms themselves could be a bit updated but we spent so little time in there that it didn’t matter. The food was so-so. I don’t expect great food in Cuba so I’m not one to judge on it. I hated the fact that we had to book our a la carts the first day there and already at that time the only options were after 8:30. Crazy. The evening shows were pretty good and the lobby was really nice. There was always a singer at 8 till 9 and then the night shows started at 9:30 in the theatre. This was a smaller resort which we liked. So close to the pool or the beach whichever building you stayed in. As usual there were idiots that reserved the palapas and loungers by the pool by 6am. We never got a covered spot by the pool but there was tons of palapas and loungers on the beach. Will return to this resort.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Excellent Service

This is our second trip to the Iberostar Grand. We just love this resort. The beach is beautiful, the water is clear and you can see the little fish and marine life around you. One day we saw a star fish about 20 feet from the shore line. I can't say enough about the food, the buffet is just as good as the a la carte restaurants, the best of the best. If you want to try the a la carte restaurants I strongly recommend that you co [... read more]ntact the hotel directly and book them in advance, don't wait until you get there because they are all booked up or you will end up with a 9:00 pm reservation. The rooms on the ground level are a little tired and should be updated. The bed is super comfortable. We like Red Strip beer but it was nice to have the option of Bud Light as well as other brands to choose from. The service is excellent however tipping becomes stressful at times. Many of the guests we met and chatted with seemed to be stressed out about how much to tip and when to tip. I wish they had a no tipping policy like Sandals however the service is way better than Sandals. We've been to many different hotels chains like Couples, Sandals, Barcelo and Melia and the Iberostar Grand is definitely a step up. If you decide to take advantage of the 2 complimentary rounds of golf at White Witch and Cinnamon Hill, keep in mind that a cart rental is mandatory at $40 per person and the caddy tipping fee is minimum $25 per person. The golf clubs rental is $55. If you enjoy golfing, it is well worth the cost. Transportation, drinks and snacks are also complimentary.

You will never find friendlier staff! The rooms definately need some work, however the grounds and common areas are lovely. Beach is incredible and there is a lot of variety of food to choose from. We would happily return.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: amazing resort but cleaning rooms must be improved

The resort is clean and nice. The service is excellent. My suggestion is for room or housekeeping , we saw the room maid emptying out the garbage plastic from our washroom/comfort room and without her washing her hands she proceeded on touching the clean bed sheets that she puts on our bed.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Sadly Disappointed Again

We were hoping that things had changed from our last visit. My husband and myself don't ask for a lot. We would like a toilet that flushes, a shower that works and air conditioning that works also. Not much else. Very simple....the things that we thought we had paid for. The plumber fixed our toilet twice, yet the only way to flush it was to take water from the bidet to fill the tank in order to flush it. This went on the whole week...we were told it was being taken care of. For half the week, o [... read more]ur shower was scolding hot, no cold water. The second half of the week it was freezing cold, no hot water. The final night we actually had warm water. Our air conditioning made noise, blew air and that was about it. We will not be going back . Beyond disappointed with the treatment of some of the staff there.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Perfect Paradise!

This resort is simply amazing! Beautiful buildings that makes you feel in a palace. Large inside/outside Lobby area. Impressed with english speaking staff at the reception and bars. Very friendly staff. Our maid was the best with funny swans designs in out rooms each day. Family ocean-view room well worth it. Spacious and very convenient. Lots of different food options at the buffet and beach snack bar is hidden but very good. A la carte restaurants were easy to book and we enjoyed tasting new t [... read more]hings. There are 3 pools, main pool has entertainment and quiet pools are great as well in order to get away from too much people or music. Beach is awesome! just enough entertainement and music the rest of the day, free paddle-boats which we enjoyed a few times! Night shows and discotheque, spa on the resort as well. Very impressed and would definately go back.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great resort

We stayed at this resort for 7 nights. it was really an awesome time. The resort staff are very friendly and polite, the food was great considering that we are in Cuba where they do not have everything available to them as we do. Clean grounds and only 2 bugs bites all week. That was a great relief. I would go back no problem. It's really more of a family resort so if your looking for partying this is not the place for you.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Definitely not a four or four/half star resort.

Rooms were very clean and cleaning staff were very good.Ceramic tile floors in the halls had many broken ones and were patched with cement.Every second light in hallways were not working and the end of the hallways were dark.Very spooky.Some stairwells had no handrails so you had to hang on to the wall.I have a slight mobility issue which made this dangerous.There were Two elevators at the far end of each hall. Of course where I was there was a broken one. The second elevator worked sometime but [... read more] not always forcing you to walk to the other end of hall and wait.Remember there are approximately 940 rooms. Adult floors are on the top floors.I had a room upgrade and as such, was allowed to eat at the eleventh floor dinning room.The young women at the grill was quite pleasant,always smiling and spoke extremely good English which made us feel at ease. I wish I could remember her name.Management should offer staff some English classes to get by. We are your customers.Food at buffets we’re sub-par.and again many many people squeezing in the same buffet.They offered for example spaghetti where the chef would let you choose the sauce and what you wanted in it.Most times a line up of ten to fifteen people would wait a while to be served as he was the only one doing this.They say towels left unattended on lounge chairs could be confiscated and you could be responsible for a replacement($15.) but I didn’t see anyone removing theses.A large hotel with nine hundred rooms should have more than three hundred lounge chairs.so by all means, get up early and put your towel on a lounge chair and claim your space.The upgrade allowed for swimming in the adult pool but people would go in there anyway.No security seen anywhere made me feel unsafe. As I had stayed at four different iberostar resorts, this one was scrapping at the bottom and I will attempt a stay at another resort.Thank you Bella Vista for opening my eyes.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great resort, relaxing vacation!

Hotel was lovely, clean Food was good Room was really nice Spa suite 2025, close to everything Beaches were beautiful! For 2 pesos you can take the tour bus to the Estella market or 10 pesos in a Cuban taxi. We had pizza at the little restaurant there for 4 pesos or so..it was very good. Very relaxing and quiet in Spa area +18. Would definitely go back!

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Great Resort in Cuba!

We just returned on March 9/19 after staying at Iberostar Holgian for 7 days. Resort grounds are spread out with golf carts routinely traveling around from the main lobby, beach and pool areas. Although, the Iberostar beach wasn't usable as dredging work was being done we were able to use the beach at Playa Presquero (resort next to Iberostar). Our rooms were amazing with comfortable beds, etc. Staff and food were great too.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: First time at the resort and won't be the last!

Rooms were clean and comfortable, great view of the grounds and the ocean. Unlike some of the other resorts, this resort really does have a Cuban feel to it, with the architecture and the colours. Enjoyed the buffets and the two a la carte that we tried, always fresh and flavourfull. Staff far exceeded my expectations of Cuban hospitality, and the shows at the poolside and evening shows were entertaining and fun. Very nice everything ,the hotel ,the pool ,the beach ,the restaurants ; the lobby open to the garden ,the wieu with the birds ; the food was very good and tasty ,fresh fruits many colourd.We enjoy all these very much .

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great well run resort

The beach is not great if that is high on your wish list. The pool area was very nice with lots of shade available if you get up at 5am. Yes it is one of those places. Nothing like getting up at 530am just to get a couple seats around the pool. The food was very good as good as any inclusive place I have visited under $2000 per. Drinks were good as was the bar service. The weather was fantastic for our week which is very important. Also one of my friends had a cane and got around the place easily but needed a ground floor room.

Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus: Beautiful resort

We had a wonderful time at this resort. The food was really good and the grounds were spectacular and so well kept. Hope to return next year again. We loved some of the additions since our last visit and the staff are very friendly and attentive. We were sorry to leave.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great value resort

Beautiful grounds, very clean, friendly staff, great pool but showing it’s age. Best food we had at a resort. Lots of variety. Great entertainment. Would of preferred more live music in square for dancing.
