Riu Flamingos: Excellent resort.

Truely enjoyed this resort. Beautiful gardens, wonderful, friendly staff and good food. Programs were good. and facilities excellent. Had a relaxing time with jacuzzi, hot rock massage, pool activities and walks on the beach. Only the sea was rough. Wouldn't let the best of our swimmers swim. He was constantly being thrown back onto the beach. Poor guy. That's a reflection on mother nature and not on the resort. Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Riu palace Riviera Maya

Excellent hotel at good location ,at playacar gated community. Good quality food ( less salt and sugar recommend ) very good overall service and value for money, close to other Riu hotels nearby. Entertainment needs some update not quite commensurate with hotel's class.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great hotel

I will point out the only 2 negative. The beds are too soft; for me. Secondly, the junior suite ocean view is not actually a suite, its a room with a small table and 2 chairs. The balcony is tight. The suite I thought we booked is called a superior junior suite! The restaurants were fantastic especially the Krystal. Hotel was renovated in 2017. Staff are so nice ALL of them! Although, people are selling items on the beach, if you politely say no thank you they go away. Not like in mexi [... read more]co where they harass the heck out of you. Look for Big John on the beach for an incredible foot massage and entertainment lol I'd go back to Riu in a heart beat!!! Also Tripcentral was amazing to book with - better than Selloff vacations who I previously booked with. Great job Tripcentral :)

Riu Flamingos: Amazing resort

We were 8 of us in the group. Had a great time. All good. The staff is very friendly. Best resort I have ever been too. I have been to a lot of them. I will go again for sure. We were happy with the food and rooms. Very clean and spacious rooms. The only thing was that the beach is not calm and so we didn’t go in the water and I found out from reviews that it’s like that the whole year. But we all will go back for sure.

Riu Guanacaste: Never again!

First, the flight was delayed. The wings needed to be deiced and this was reasonable then they said we needed to refuel due to weight and head winds and that we would have to fly to Windsor from Montreal to do this. We did not arrive till supper time instead of lunch time and we lost the first day of our vacation. The Sunwing air plane did not carry sufficient food for the entire plane and ran out about 2/3 of the way back. With Elite Plus we were supposed to have separate boarding and luggage [... read more] drop off, although there was a elite plus baggage counter it was never staffed both in Canada and in Costa Rica. We flew out of Montreal and that was a mistake. If I were a Francophone I would be suing Sunwing. The stewards spoke French and if you asked for something in English you were either ignored or answered in French. Again on the way home the plane was delayed due to ice rain, (not Sunwings' fault) but their staff at our hotel in Costa Rica were unable to tell us when the plane was expected to arrive in Canada and were condescending when asked, answering they had no idea 'sweetheart' and they were not responsible 'My dear". To add insult to injury, they flight was long Sunwing sales pitch, food, duty free, Sunwing destinations, blankets, and ear phones. The inflight movie was reruns of Big Bang Theory, Sheldon and other TV sitcoms. If I wanted to watch reruns I could have stayed home. This Riu Guanacaste is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. First room was located directly above the stage area for the nightly entertainment and the lights in the bathroom and on one side of the bed did not work. Took two days to have the lights fixed which meant showering in near darkness. We also requested a move to a different room which also took two days to accomplish. We were told to come to the desk between 11am and noon to exchange keys and a bell boy with a cart would help us move. This is a huge hotel and requires help to move. We went down to the desk as ask and were told to come back in at 12:30. Again we went down to the desk and we told that the room should be ready at 1:30. After 3 trips to the front desk, a 10 minute journey from our 5th floor room to the front desk in 100+ temperature, we decided to call the front desk to ask if it was ready and were told they would not tell us on the phone but that we would have to come down in person to find out. Still the room was not ready and a final trip to the front desk at 3pm got us the keys to the new room. There was no help with the move, we were expected to move all our luggage from on side of the "U" shaped building to the other ourselves. The new room was quiet but the toilet would not flush. The chain for the flush was tied together with thread and the thread had broken. They did fix this the same day with more thread and the only way to flush the toilet for the remainder of the trip was to lift the back of the toilet lid that the chain was connected to. Dinner was another problem. You could not make a reservation but again had to line up in 100 degree, not air conditioned, temperatures at 5:30 p.m. and wait for the restaurant to open at 6:15 p.m. They only let 25 people into the restaurant even if the restaurant held 200 people. We asked why we could not be seated at the empty tables and were told company policy was that only 25 people could be seated, the rest left empty for the next twenty five and were told that the soonest we could get a table way 7:45 p.m. and would be given a beeper. The hostess was rude and told us that if we wanted dinner that we would just have to come back. I asked about a buffet and she said that there was none. I went to main desk who told us there was a buffet and gave us directions to it. The second night we decided to wait it out and when to the Steak House, waited until 7:30 when our beeper went off and went to dinner. The menu if preset in all restaurants, the only choice in the main course, in the Steak house it is fish, chicken or steak. We ordered the rib eye but what we got was a sandwich steak that was 3/4 fat and grizzle. We never lined up for dinner again. We ate at the buffet every night. The food was terrible, fatty meat, over done fish and underdone chicken and turkey. We lived on pasta and french fries. I would not go back there if it was free.

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Wonderful vacation

We were very happy with this resort. It was immaculate, even the public washrooms. The a la cartes restaurants were easy to get into and delicious, a couple of times we had to wait for the 8 o’clock seating but that was fine with us. The buffet was just ok. The drinks were delicious and not a long wait to get one. The beach and sunset was amazing. They didn’t have any cabanas so you had to find a palm tree to pull your lounger over too to get some shade. Riu Ocho Rios: Great Resort

The Food was really good, a lot better than I expected. The rooms could have been a little better TV wise, but I wasn’t there to watch much TV. Beach was fun, great time playing volleyball. Staff was friendly got the hockey game on for us Canadians in the sports bar

Riu Flamingos: Amazing

Very good. Rooms were clean.very friendly servers. Dinning rooms were clean. Total excellent service. Definitely will go again. Entertainments very good. Pools were clean. Used spa hot tub, very relaxing.

Riu Reggae: Very new and hip

Great resort and great food. The advantage is that this resort is 8 minutes from the airport, however the planes are very noisy when they fly over your head. You do get used to it however. The grounds are small so good luck jogging there, however there is an exercise room. We were warned that this resort was more of a party place and it lived up to it. Riu Palace Aruba: Riu Palace Aruba

Although we are "cruisers", we were pleasantly surprised on how beautiful the Riu Palace Resort was. When we took a look at the resort in one of your tourism books, we were very impressed. When we arrived at the resort it just looked the same as the picture. We enjoyed every minute of this vacation and would like to book again n the near future. In addition, I think we may book the Riu Adult resort the next time because it looked very impressive as well.

Riu Santa Fe: Great party resort

Very clean grounds and public areas and washrooms.Staff very friendly and helpful.Food was good.Personly we found the the resort to noise for us, the resort is more geared for a younger crowd. Was disappointed that we had booked to a superior room and found it was to noisy. To change rooms we downgraded to get a quieter room, but was not refunded the $200.00 that I had to pay extra for the superior room..

Riu Reggae: Clean resort

I thought the resort clean. Not a lot of day time activities. Night activities are too late. The beach had a lot of seaweed and the sand was very rough. Rooms very clean. Only stocked bar every 2 days. Line ups for restaurants were too long. Bartenders and staff were amazing.

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Great Resort

Super quick checking in process. Clean rooms and the grounds were well kept. Staff friendly and helpful. The Entertainment Crew were amazing and they did a super job interacting and entertaining everyone. No problem with the food, you could always find something that you liked. The beef, was top notch and very tasty at the Steakhouse and the Krystal restaurants.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: RIU on Paradise Island, Nassau

The resort is located on a beautifully kept beach. Lots of loungers and staff available to set up the loungers and umbrellas. The resort itself is clean and staff are friendly. The buffet was not the best, the quality wasn’t that great. The a la cartes do not take reservations, which resulted in my husband and I not getting into the steakhouse the night that we tried, the restaurant opened at 6:30 pm and by 7:30 pm they weren’t taking anyone else. There are a lot of great spaces to sit and relax within the resort, definitely not crowded or difficult to find a lounger, table or couch. The cappuccino bar was nice. We weren’t happy with our view from our room. Oceanview is variable and our first room was on a lower floor with a direct view of a rooftop with a loud air conditioner sounding noise and from the corner you could see the ocean. We contacted our travel agent and we were moved to a better view. We did notice that many people around us weren’t tipping staff which was surprising and disappointing, especially in the a la carte restaurants that provide excellent service and have multiple courses. Overall, it was a relaxing getaway. Not sure I sure would do a 7 day stay, 4 was enough given the size of the resort.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: A very nice resort

I found the hotel and grounds very clean,the staff very friendly.The food was good.It was nice being an adults only resort.Just a little small,not much to do in the evening.The beach got quite crowded during the day,so if you got there later,it was hard to get a spot or chairs.

Riu Santa Fe: Pretty resort, it lacking service.

We had a beautiful room and view. But the service at the pool bar was so slow, waiting up to 30 minutes for service. The al la carteswere lacking, slow and food was cold. The view from our room was perfect. The hotel was over crowded and there were not enough bartenders, waitresses for the amount of people at the resort. Lacking entertainment each night instead had karaoke. I have been to other RIUs and they were great. Will not be going back to this one.

Riu Santa Fe: Excellent fun time at the Riu Santa Fe

We had an excellent time at the Riu Santa Fe. The food was great! The breakfast buffets, lunch and all the dinners were excellent. We have no complaints about the food. Every Riu hotel is different. The gardens are amazing with a good variety of cactus, succulents, palm trees and other tropical plants. The gardens and grounds are well kept and very interesting. The pools are plentiful with choices of quiet pools, a pool with swim up bar and jacuzzis and lively pool areas. Notably the pool partie [... read more]s are very lively and so much fun! We are over 55 and had a great time at the pool parties. The entertainment is good with Mexican shows, a Micheal Jackson show, magic etc. The beach is clean but too rough for swimming, some folks walked to town via the beach, we didn't. It is a bit of a walk between buildings but far less than many other hotel complexes we have been in. The walk is worth the exploration of the grounds.The regular rooms are nice and the delux rooms are beautiful. We have absolutley no complaints. There is a beautiful view of Cabo San Lucas from the hotel and the distance from town or Walmart is with minutes by taxi or bus. We thoroughly enjoyed Cabo San Lucas and the Riu hotel. We would definatley go back to the Riu Santa Fe and hopefully bring a few friends to join us.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Amazing resort.

Absolutely loved this resort. Amazing food. Never have had lobster offered in a buffet before. I really enjoyed the Indian restaurant available in the specialty restaurants. Fridge restocked daily with water, pop and beer plus a dispenser bar. Great maid service. Loved that we could visit the Rui Santa Fe and Rui Baha next door with our wrist bands. The only thing that could improve in my opinion is the entertainment. A little on the lame side. But otherwise worthy of a 5 star resort.

Riu Palace Baja California: Great resort hotel

Stayed at the new Riu Baja California recently and the hotel hit on all points. Check in was one of if not the smoothest I have ever experienced. Been to 30+ all inclusive hotels to date. Room cleanliness was great, daily service was fine, room additions such as bar fridge and water was always filled to the max. Large patio deck with alot of privacy. Deck view was of the ocean and the Riu St. Fe. We were on the 4th floor. Food at the buffet was decent. Everyday there were new options. At [... read more]e here mostly for breakfast and lunch. Dinner was taken at the other restaurants offered. Steak house was good and so was the Fusion. Pools....great atmosphere, great service, swim up bar was more lively than other pools but that is to be expected. Entertainment in the evening was pretty good. Make sure to take in the Micheal Jackson show. It was the best! Overall I hold no reservations is suggesting the Riu Baja California! Wish I could be back there tomorrow!

Riu Republica: Beautiful Resort!!

This resort is well laid out with short lovely walks to everywhere you need to go. Lots for everyone and every mood! Pools are second to none and so many! Bars are great as well as most drinks. Grounds are impeccable and rooms are chic and so clean. Maid did an incredible.job every day. No fancy towels or curtains even though I tipped here..haha that's ok. Loved the variety of pools depending on your mood! The only complaint is the a la carte service was not great and I like to be served not buffet for these specialty restaurants.
