Brisas Guardalavaca: Paradise

Excellent hotel. Needs updating. Ceilings leak, we were in two different rooms and the air conditioner worked much better in one of them. Grounds are kept beautiful. The rooms are clean, comfortable bed, nice sheets. Many great bars. No big line ups. Courteous service for the most part. Beach and pools beautiful and kept very clean. Take a calculator when exchanging money and show them you are figuring it out. They will try to cheat you on that. Count your money after you receive it.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Nice resort

It is a little outdated and definitely needs more work in the rooms but they are trying. The grounds are well kept but the beach could be raked a lot of cigarette butts and straws from people that just don't care. The buffet staff are so friendly and they go out of their way to help. I find thou that all the people that pretty well work there are so nice! I wish they would leave the buffet at the villa opened for all meals not just for breakfast because it can be a distance walking for lunch and [... read more] dinner from that area especially when you are disabled. They have a lot of activates which our Grandson really liked but as for the shows we didn't attend just worn out from the sun and the day. This is our 3rd trip here and it was good for the Grandkids but I might look for a smaller resort next time with a shorter drive to get there.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Family resort

Nice spot, good beach, great staff. Long walk to beach, not for someone with walking issues. The on site store is way over priced. Food is OK no complaints but nothing special. Tipping seems quite mandatory, resort looks like it could use some serious upgrades in upkeep. Some of the public washrooms are not very clean. Lots of Cuban music and night shows are good.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Good memories.

We loved our week at the memories Holguin resort ,wish it had been 2 weeks. The gardens are amazing, food , beach atmosphere & staff were excellent . Next year we hope to return & meet our new friends again .

every thing is very close stayed at the main building can be very loud with the entertainment if you are facing the pool area DJ one night was on until 11:45 way too loud villa area was much nicer wife has a horse so having access to riding right across the street was very convenient. few little things keep it from being a 4 star front desk did not mention about getting towels or a key for the safe other hotels in Cuba provide water in the fridge and free safe over all good value  [... read more]for the money but again not quite a 4 star also the airport in Holguin is terrible. we were actually rushed clearing baggage and customs to catch the plane customs and baggage are too close together- causes mass confusion

Don Lino Hotel: Cheap and cheerful

Second time at this resort. Has not changed apart from new restaurant building and additional rooms. Simple accommodation , things have broken and not been replaced. E.g. ac remotes , have to turn on and off at breaker. Fridges missing. Etc. Started off in one of the older rooms but issues with mold and creatures in the roof. Moved to a wooden building but still activity in roof at night, lizards, we hope! Food very repetitive. Will not make you Sick but boring and a week was enough. Take snac [... read more]ks with you? Beach nice although difficult to access water without shoes. Lots of new sun loungers. Playa Blanca is close by for a change of scenery.not a lot to do but if weather good it will be a relaxing stay. Most of the staff are friendly and locals are welcoming and happy to see you out of the resort.

Everytime we go the needs are greater. Please pack your luggage to the max with a mind set of helping others. Things you take for granted are the same things the Cuban people long for. Build relationships with them and find out for yourselves.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Amazing

It was everything we had expected. Grounds are well kept and workers are always busy. We enjoyed the a -la- cartes also. Food in the buffet was also good. Each night was a different theme. Check in went very quickly. We had requested an ocean view. We got a room on top floor (5th) with 2 nice size decks.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Amazing Hotel

Considering that it is an old Resort, is very well maintained. Service was good and fast. Place very clean. As of all Resorts in Cuba, food is an issue, not many choices. Overall is a nice place to spend a week in it. Was easy to switch room to a better one. Great help!

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great Escape

This was our third visit to Brisas Guardavalaca. We came back because of the atmosphere created by Cuban people and progressive improvements in service and facilities. We were not disappointed; all staff was very polite, always smiling, always ready to meet our needs, and always working hard to maintain the resort clean. Although already old, the resort was recently updated with modern bathrooms. It was a pleasure to take a shower in the evening after the whole day of activities that included te [... read more]nnis, horseback riding, beach volleyball, boating, snorkeling etc. These were our favorite things to do, however, you could spend the whole day on a beautiful beach (finding a beach chair was a challenge and we did not like this part). The beach was cleaned every night; plastic cups and cigarette butts were unfortunately often left in the sand by many tourists. We liked the food; there were lots of choices but we have favoured fish, vegetables and fruits. Overall, nice, warm and relaxing break from winter.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Spend the extra 200 bucks

You are getting your bang for your buck but I’d rather have spent the extra 200 bucks and went next door. There are at least 100 steps to get to breakfast lunch dinner and the lobby. It is a tired resort seeking a lot of attention. Not enough staff for March break which resulted in long waits and miserable staff.

The property has a lot of potential. It needs some love and care. The pools are beautiful and levels for all people. The service was very slow and they were rude. The food was good. Tips really did not matter to them. The entertainment was not the greatest and didn’t really involve the guests.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Affordable and Fair

This resort is very large and requires a lot of walking to get to the main areas, beach, and restaurants. The resort grounds are very clean, but there are certain areas such as the washrooms, that really need maintenance and cleaning. The food was very good, rooms were clean, but the service and hospitality could use some improvement.

Resort was beautiful service is slow when you need for your beverages when you eat a la carte or at the buffet. We tipped and left presents. We were at room 602. This resort is not for you if you do not like walking as there is alot to be done. Food was good home made omlets fish chicken pork rice buffet. We spent our time everyday at beach. They have paddle boats kiaks and catermerans. Tip the chair man every day and he will save you an umbrella by the beach we brought him a gift and a pesos. Exchange your money at airport it is cheaper there at hotel 60 can will give you 44cuc. We paid for VIP at airport for return. Little disappointed food ok but room run down at airport was only good for express check in but remember it is first come first serve so if busses come before you get there you will get what is available. Great staff will definitely goto Holiguin as the weather there us hot and more predictable maybe not this resort

Playa Pesquero: I like it

The main problem of the resort for me is lack of shade on the beach. Guests have to wake up early to find place is shade or pay hotel workers to do it. The beach itself is nice - calm sea with sand bottom and there is a good place for snorkeling nearby. This time we have also faced smelly water in beach shower once. Sol Turquesa Beach: Great time at Memories Holguin

We just got back from a March Break trip at the Memories Resort. It was the best resort we've ever stayed at in Cuba. The cave excursion (included) is highly recommended. There always seemed to be something to do at this resort and we loved it.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great resort!

We really love this hotel. We stayed for 7 days. The beach was very nice, entertainment, and rooms were very clean. There was a lot fo things to do on the resort, we went sailing, swimming, snorkeling, and paddle boat. Friendly staff and great food!

Playa Pesquero: Premium Playa Pesquero is the way to go

We spent the first 2 days of our trip at Playa Pesquero (monte Cristo pkg), the hotel was nice but was really in need of some updating. We found that it was really far to get anywhere on the resort. The food in our opinion was almost unedible, we went to a a la carte restaurant but left without eating because we did not find anything on the menu that looked appetizing.The room was clean but our fridge and phone did not work.
