Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great resort and beautiful beach

The hotel is nice and it has it's own beach Ensenachos. It is idyllic. I have been to Varadero multiple times, but you really feel like you have to beach to yourself here. The hotel is looking a little tired, but most of your day will likely be on the beach.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing resort, best vacation ever!

We were there as a couple from Feb. 12th to the 19th Amazing resort, best vacation ever! Beautiful grounds and pools, beaches, amazing landscaping, lush vegetation, very clean, lovely dining rooms, excellent food at all meals, most friendly and helpful staff always ready to help, always asking what more they can do for you, always great entertainment, very efficient check-in at the reception, all in all, excellent service and we can see why this resort has the Certificate of Excellence. The r [... read more]esort is in need of a little TLC maybe still recovering from 2017 hurricanes (ex. repainting balconies) but when equipment breaks in your room, they tend to get fixed very quickly in general. The service and the staff are so amazing that you forget that this is not a top notch 5 star resort. Definitely planning to go there again next year and will not hesitate to recommend to all my family and friends.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Experience

Grounds were beautifully taken care of. Pools were clean and well maintained. Resort was nice size and didn’t have a lot of walking to get to places which was great. Food was great and plentiful. BEACH was the most beautiful I’d ever experienced. Rooms were good size and clean - beds were very hard.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Not happy

As far as the hotel and grounds the resort is nice small and quaint keeps things more personable. As far as the food I’ve been going to Cuba for 28 years and this was the worst hotel yet you think by now Cuba could get it together and stop feeding us processed and caned foods. Some that aren’t identifiable,bring up the quality of their food this is 2019. Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Awesome resort

Less than a year old, so rooms were really nice! Food was good, lots of selection including a BBQ by the pool every afternoon! Grounds were looked after very well, and the pools were awesome! Very good value for the price we paid. The only downside was distance from the airport (approximately 1.5 hours) but also was a nice tour of the Cuban countryside and small towns.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Good resort

Beach was amazing, clean and crystal clear waters. Room service/customer service was not the greatest had some issues with towels and what not. 2.5/5 Food was a 4/5. Overall Experience was 4/5 Location was good just a little far from the airport

Melia Las Dunas: Not bad resort

The resort needs a bit of renovation. The beach was excellent. I wasn’t empressed a long waiting lines. We didn’t have a beach towels for 3 days but asking people who cleaned our room were fast finding them. Also, we didn’t have tv that was working for 3 days. Sunwing busses didn’t wait for us when we arrived. Just left us behind.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: great beach, great service, but

the beach here is amazing and beach service waiters to go with it. The overall service is really good great people. The food is what it is it's Cuban you don't go there for the food. Our room was cleaned well, asked for a room change as returning quests we were able to change. The main problem which normally does not happen, because of valentines certain areas of resort was taken over by locals. Have been to this resort 4 times now and I will return but not during their holidays or summer.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great Vacation!

The hotel was well maintained and so were the grounds. Food in Cuba is food in Cuba. Was not impressed with the a la carte restaurants; portions were small and food was just ok. Great beaches and the cantinas at the beach were a nice touch, serving bbq chicken and fish and paella. As always the Cuban hospitality is always refreshing...so many made our stay special. Thank you to all the staff.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: It's Cuba!

Resort was clean. Rooms comfortable but our patio door would not lock even after calling for repairs. ToilEt leaked. tubs were stupid!!!! Had to climb in and hunch over to use a shower stick that came out of the tub. And water got everywhere even after we thought we mastered the trick. Line ups were horrible. Started at check in, then buffet door, then grill and it never got better. Usually waited like 45 min in all food lineups. Buffet food cold. Al a carts not great and poor service except ro [... read more]mantic. Resort ran out of many things throughout the week. White wine!, bread!, shrimp. Ocean and pool were wonderful. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Resort Not Recommended But Beach Was AMAZING

The resort was nice (pretty, well kept for the most part), but the service was not very good at all. The bar staff were not tentative, and they literally ran out of something almost every single day (fries, bread, hot dogs, buns, white wine, chicken, fish, etc.). I've never been to a resort that was so unaccommodating. For $800.00 or $900.00, definitely worth it, and I'd go again for that price and deal with the unaccommodating nature of the resort and staff. But for $1300.00 you could get a way [... read more] better resort. They also played the exact same music every single night....got old quick. We had a hard time getting clean beach towels as they never had any to trade in, we even had a hard time getting more water bottles for our room. One of the couples I went with had a huge leak in their room, water all over the floor the entire week. No one came to fix it. On a positive, the most beautiful beach I've ever seen, but that was about the only positive. I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: We LOVED IT

We loved this resort in most ways... especially important to mention is the twins in the entertainment section Leonardo and Lionel as they were extremely helpful and attentive to our family. Also Dennis at the bar was amazing. The resort itself was really nice, the buffet was pretty good and I would not recommend the a la carte restaurant here. Our room was very nice and clean and the pool and the beach were awesome.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Fantastic Resort !

This is an excellent resort. The rooms are modern, grounds are very well kept. The staff are all excellent. They really take care of you. Food was really good. Hit up the snack bar for some awesome chicken / fish nuggets and fillets. Beach is very nice and the staff are attentive. Beach grill will satisfy your mid day cravings.

The employees at this resort went above and beyond to make our trip one to remember! The resort itself is beautiful, beach cannot he beat, and the food was a lot tastier than I was expecting. I will recommend this resort to anyone interested in traveling to Cayo Santa Maria!!

Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful beach, amazing staff

My fourth trip to Cuba, third time to Cayo Santa Maria. First time to Melia las dunas. The resort staff was incredibly friendly from the front desk clerks to Gardners all making an effort to get to know guests and help in any way possible. The pools were perfect always lots of chairs and shade. Beach was beautiful as usual. The staff on the beach always made an effort to find us chairs and Palapas If available. Buffet had an omelet bar for breakfast and pasta and rice etc. cooked fresh for lunch and dinner. Had a wonderful week. The hospitality of the staff is what made our vacation as excellent as it was :)

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Dhawa Winter Getaway

We went to Dhawa last week (February 10-17, 2019). We were a group of 9 people. It was our first time in Cayo Santa Maria and Dhawa. But we have been to Varadero twice. We have been eyeing this resort since it opened, and finally we have decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day and pre-Family Day there. We stayed at building 6 rooms 602, 609, 610, 614. Our rooms are always cleaned, the towels are changed everyday and the fridge is always restocked. The grounds are well-maintained and the garden is beautiful! The buffet is huge and the food selections were better than the ones we had in Varadero. We would like to acknowledge Evelyn Coronado at the buffet for taking care of us every breakfast and lunch- making sure we have our water or coffee or cervezas ready. There were different choices of food for every palate. Thank you to Michel and Henry at the hot grill section in the buffet for cooking our food on-the-spot. There are three à la cart restaurants that you can go to. The Italian was good but the French à la carte was the best. We went to the seafood à la carte for Valentine’s Day but we didn’t enjoy the food. They changed the menu for Valentine’s Day special but we didn’t like it, but kudos for the effort. They gave all the ladies roses as soon as we entered the restaurant. They had a foam party in the afternoon on Valentine’s Day. It was so much fun! My children (19 and 9 y/o) enjoyed it! They then had a special aquatic program at night and it was the best show we’ve seen compared to the other resorts we’ve been to. They also had shows for kids everyday at 8:30pm. My 9 y/o daughter enjoyed it and always look forward to go there after dinner. Rosa the clown was the best! The snack bar is open 24/7, the employees there especially Yordan, Yalenia, Rogelio and Yunier were all great! We highly recommend the chicken nuggets, fish nuggets and ice cream sundae at the snack bar. The beach snack bar was also good. The burgers were good. By the way, you don’t have to walk all the way to the beach snack bar because a worker will come and take your order for your drinks. At the beach, we’d like to thank Isney for always making sure that our beach chairs were clean. We also like to thank Carlos at the lobby bar for making excellent mojitos! Btw, the lobby bar is also open 24/7. They did not have pizza because of the flour shortage. Too bad, we were looking forward to eating Cuban pizza. But they have bread so at least we had that. CONS: not enough pool chairs; there’s only one buffet restaurant because the other one closer to the beach is closed; there were also a lot of people smoking in the non smoking area! But overall, this hotel is by far the best we’ve been to. The people at the resort were all nice, accommodating and very friendly. We would definitely go back there.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Beautiful resort

Grounds were beautiful. Resort and rooms were lovely. Way too much difficulty getting the toilet paper replaced in our room more than a few times. Was even left empty several times after room was made up for day. Buffet food was ok. Nothing fabulous. A la carte meals were great. Alexander and the entertainment team at Sanctuary were wonderful.

Hotel was great, rooms (standard) are okay (nothing outstanding but nothing to complain about either). Food was fantastic (Lots to choose from and spices!!) Staff was friendly and welcoming. Bar service a little slow.
