Puerto Plata Village: Okay resort

The hotel grounds was pretty simple nothing fancy but yet relaxing, now the food omg amazing lots of cultural authentic food,any one that likes beef that's the place to go the best,the rooms nothing fancy but very clean!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Friendly and fun

Good food, entertainment and long beach with good swimming, long walks and palapas. Beach chairs showing aging. Building and could use some updating. Super friendly staff. Great service. Too many smokers around pool. Charge for in room safe.

VH Atmosphere: Very good resert.

Room is very big and clean, towels are always available. Food, especially salads and soups is very delicious. Great facilities. Clean pool. always available seats and plates in the dining room. Only domestic drinks.

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Will go back!

I liked that it wasn't a big resort, 1 buffet restaurant and 3 a-la-carts. The beach was beautiful, the food was good and the staff very nice!! We were in the adults only building and we had our own pool with jacuzzi and bar!!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Could be better

The grounds, pools and service was great. Clean Grounds, Great service, Clean pools. The rooms were not updated at all, the photos made the rooms look nicer than they actually were. ALL the food was over cooked, the hamburgers were like Hockey pucks, The Pizza was the worst I have ever had. I enjoyed Being there simply because we were away from our Canadian winter, however, the food was not good. The best items on the menu at the restaurants came with a charge( Approx $20 US EACH). We did not,  [... read more]order any of it because, all the other food was overcooked. The best food they had was the Fried Chicken and Cold French Fries at the buffet and snack bar. All in all I am Glad the food was inclusive because I would have not paid to eat any of that food. I would not return to this resort.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: very nice clean fairly modern, not to big ,good service

good layout, had ocean view, room was very nice , cleaning lady did a great job , fridge always had beer, food was really good ,wide variety , Xmas eve, lobster feast ,Xmas eve the hotel was invaded with new people , hotel seemed to handle it well, could have used an extra bartenders at the pool and beach bars, overall good value

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great resort!

Nice smaller resort with good food and great staff. Easy to get from one area to another and both the pool area and the beach have shaded areas. I enjoyed the buffet and the restaurants. would not hesitate to return.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: It was ok

The grounds were beautiful and the pool was clean. They layout of this resort is perfect everything is close no matter where you are. The beach was clean although there is a lot of seaweed. The rooms were fine except our air conditioning stopped working halfway through and even though we complained it never did get fixed. Dining was great food was good. We were there over Christmas with our 4 children, first impression was trying to check in which took 3 hours because they were trying to tell us [... read more] they could not accommodate what we had booked. Finally after arguing with them they all of a sudden we’re able to make this change. The entertainment and shows were awful even our children did not want to watch. Not many decorations and for Christmas. They had all guests eat at the buffet and lines were 30 minutes long so by the time you get everything you want all your food is cold and Christmas show was by far the worst of the week.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Outstanding Resort

The Grounds and beach were amazing and entertainment was great. The rooms were just like the picture that you see from sunwing. We had the Amnesa Jr Suite which super clean every day. The foam party that they on Saturdays is crazy fun and great food. I wish we would have booked for two weeks instead of just one.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Good food, nice beach

Grounds are kept clean and beautiful, public areas are also clean. Our room was clean but would need some renovations, balcony door was broke, we had a hard time opening and closing it everytime. We called the front desk, they sent someone but needs new door.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Fantastic resort!

The resort is slowly being upgraded/re-done/made-over to a more modern aesthetic. It’s beautiful. Two fantastic, clean beaches; multiple pools; outstanding food, beautifully maintained landscaping. And only 15 mins from the airport. Would absolutely return and we never do! 10/10

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Wonderful experience

The grounds and the sea was great. The room was very near to the lobby which was good.The room itself had problems..the plumbing and later the roof leaking on the washroom was disgusting. I can recommend people to go provided the alterations are made. Food was good ..shows were okay too.But the ticks in the sand were giving grief to all of us ..it continues still after 3days of returning.. Overall a good experience.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Perfect week

Very picturesque setting, friendly, clean and comfortable. Food was excellent and beach was fantastic too. Drinks were ok, not consistent or great in any way. Peacocks and flamingos nice to have on resort. Orchids were lovely throughout the resort. Shows were ok.

Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Great Family Vacation - Dec 16-23, 2018

Hello, I was hesitant when I booked this hotel as I realized some sites showed 3* and some showed 4*. Well to my surprise I have to give this a 4* and beyond. Sunwing flight was simple - don't expect too much as you know you get what you pay for - service was good for what it was. When we got there someone greeted us from Sunwing made everything pretty straight forward. Bus ride was also pretty straight forward. We had to wait until 3pm to get checkin however we ended up having lunch and had bro [... read more]ught swim suites / shorts in the hand carry on so we felt comfortable in our new gear while we waited. The room was extremely modern with good size two double beds and the shower / bathroom was also very nice - no complaints. The place is big and gorgeous. Lots of activity for the kids - they love the pool so the basket ball and volleyball is all set up in the pool all day - My husband and I bounced around between hanging with them in the pool / beach and adult pool. The beach beds are REAL beds with canopy. All in all very good. We did NOT get bothered by VIP deals - in fact I skipped the next day oreintation partly so that they won't know I'm an outsider and track me down for sales. Also there's nothing you need to know in the orientation that will aid you. We go south every year so to us it's the same speech but like I said best you avoid it - so you don't get hasseled by sales reps. My husband and I did a couples massage which was nice. There's re stores on the beach but I recommend the store in the hotel - prices in some cases for souvenirs is cheaper in the stores. The drinks and the foos is GREAT! Cappacino / Shaggy - great guys with lots of energy!!! Did some water arbics with Shaggy and on the ground. There's spanish classes to learn spanish every day at 10am. Kids and I decided to try this out one morning. The nightly shows are your usual but really good shows. MUST try Sunday evening welcome event outside of the hotel - but a bus will take you there - the spread for this event is outstanding. The show as well. It's a must! One last thing I want to say that I was not too amused by the cats in the restaurants. I don't mind them outside but inside unfortunately I had to leave some reserved dinners because of this. However I realize lots of people don't mind this but it was problomatic for me. EIther way great vacay!

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Very pleasant older resort

Had a really enjoyable stay. Resort wasn’t very full before Christmas but I appreciated the quieter atmosphere and less people. Very nice staff and the food was better than expected. Small pool was perfectly tucked away for those that like it quieter. Great beach for walking long distance but the beach bar/restaurant could use some attention. Rooms were clean and well attended. Enjoyed the balconies. If you’re a wine drinker, you should be aware that wine is not available at any of the bar [... read more]s, by the pool or at black and white pay bar - only at the buffet or restaurants. Unusual to say the least but I managed to sneak into the buffet area when it was closed and someone would get me wine.

Very clean resort. Food was one of the best we have ever had on our vacations. Service of all employees working in resort was amazing. They always try to make you feel at home. Very impressive. I would like to thank them all for a great vacation.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: A wonderful resort

This was my family's first vacation all together abroad. We had an amazing time thanks to the excellent staff. My daughter has been to the resort before and suggested we all go back as she found it to be clean, great food and amazing entertainment. She was right as the food was excellent at the buffet with various selections and themed nights. The entertainment staff has activities all day long and put on amazing evening shows for the entire family. The beach was peaceful and breezy every day as [... read more] well as the weather was 30+. It was great to cool off at the pools. The drinks were always delicious and strong haha. Our room was in building 6 which is upgraded from the standard rooms. When we arrived there was a welcome Back sign and a fruit basket waiting for US! The location is also great and only a 10 mins bus ride away from the town (flea markets, souvenir shops and local food). We are excited to go back next year :)

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: All that you can ask for and more!

This place was awesome! Lots to do and see. Food was great. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Spa was spectacular. Welcome party and VIP party were both incredible!!! I would definitely go back, there is a ton of things to do and see on this resort. You could keep yourself amused for several weeks.

Amazing holidays. This resort was amazing. It was clean, all the staff were so friendly, they all knew my kids so felt safe to have my child play around. They have a kids club my son made friends and had a great time. All the restaurants were great. Delicious food. Nothing to complain about. I would recommend it and def going back!. Oh and the beach was also beautiful
