Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great family-friendly resort
We visited this resort with our nearly 1 year old and our 3 year old. We stayed in the Daisi hotel, right near the water park, pool, park and kids corner. This was perfect for us as our baby still takes two naps and our 3 year old also naps once per day. We were able to split up when needed and take turns staying in the room or on the balcony with our sleeping babies. The room itself was pretty outdated, and missing a mechanical inside lock to prevent our son from escaping the room. That was ann [... read more]
Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel: Nice location, but
The food was great. Everything is à la carte. Only 2 restaurants. We had to call reception to get bathroom amenities. The plunge pool had to be filled daily because the drain was plugged with a rag. We had to ask for it to be filled daily. Beach towels went quickly. The bathrooms at the Aquamarina restaurant need to be updated. Our backyard patio was lovely. The beach did not have enough lounge chairs. The bikes need to be replaced. The resort is tired and needs a do over.
Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Treated like royalty at Royalton Riviera
Loved this resort. Huge property, beautifully manicured grounds. Fabulous buffet and lots of a la carte options too. Several pools to choose from and nice beach for walking. Entertainment team were lively and engaging. We were upgraded to a presidential suite in building 5 - so very nice. No complaints.
Hotel Castillo Huatulco: Wonderful Resort
This hotel has us coming back each year. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. The food is great and a lot of variety. The rooms are very clean. The beach club also has wonderful staff and the food is amazing!
Las Palmas by the Sea: Great resort to relax
Older resort but very clean. Food was good but for the price you pay you can go out for supper. 2 pools, one for adults only and it’s heated. Not to much English or French speaking workers.Third time there to relax and that’s what we did.
Catalonia Royal Tulum: Wonderful
The room was great, grounds beautiful. Staff are so friendly and helpful. They are also knowledgeable and attentive to food allergies. The beach is seaweed and rock free and the pool activities were great.
Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Disappointing Experience
The resort itself has loads of amenities, is very well laid out and the grounds are beautiful. There are also loads of chairs around the pool at all times and a very good area for children. While the public areas are kept very clean, there are maintenance issues. The sink in our room leaked on the shelf below, the air conditioning couldn't be adjusted and nothing was done about either issue during our stay. While those were minor issues, we did have a major issue with the food. We found the food [... read more]
Riu Emerald Bay: Riu,amazing resort
Riu resort was a fantastic trip, grounds in resort are well maintained. Food was great in all the different restaurants, lots of choices. Staff was excellant, friendly and always helpful. Superior rooms in newer section were excellent. Entertainment at night time was always a fun time.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great Resort
The hotel is beautiful kept super clean and the staff are so friendly. The downside is there is not much to do at night. Night club opens late and the piano bar is only for an hour! The rooms are damp and a bit smelly! The beds are super comfy! Bring your snorkel gear. There are plenty of fish and sea turtles to be seen.
Luna Palace: Transfer and communication Issue
The hotel was basically great. However, as weather was cool in first few days, our request for an extra blanket never was fulfilled. Hotel phoned West Jet Vacations for time of bus pickup for us but time given was one hour later and we missed the bus and had to pay for taxi transportation. We were waiting close to the pool where they had a loud speaker which could have been used to call us.
Krystal Grand Cancun: Awesome resort!
We were pleasantly surprised with this resort. After reading some very negative reviews, we were very happy with our stay - the staff was beyond friendly and was very good to us. Food was great!! The beach was incredible...one of the best in the area from what we saw on our travel thru the week. We stayed in the Altitude tower - our room was beautiful and clean. Jahir the bartender provided great service as well as Zacarias in the Risoto restaurant. The manager in the Risotto (sorry forgot hi [... read more]
Seadust Cancun Beach Resort: OK Resort if the price is low
We have been going to this resort for the past 14 years. It was at its best back then when it was called the Great Parnassus. It has gone through a few ownership changes since then and the quality has steadily declined since. When we first started going there it was a 3.5 star and we thought it should be a 4.5 or even a 5. Now it truly should be a 3 star. There are still a lot of good things about this resort but only if the price is lower. It is a very large resort with a lot of people and no w [... read more]
The Pyramid Cancun: Beautiful outdoor resort
Great value for an absolutely stunning blue beach. The outdoor layout of the pool area and bars are really well placed and it’s easy to get back from the beach to the resort. Rooms were a little musty at times, but overall good value.
Canto Del Sol: Typical resort
This resort has a Mexican charm to it. It is in need of renovations though. Bed in our room needed to be replaced, it was disgusting, dirty foam pad and mattress. The food was pretty good and nightly entertainment was good. Staff at buffet restaurant were friendly, front desk staff could be better. We couldn’t seem to get face cloths after talking to them several times. When our room had issues they got someone on it fairly quick. We hardly sat at the beach as palapas were very low. Beach was n [... read more]
Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach: Amazing resort
This resort was beautiful. My wife and I had a great time there. The service was fantastic. The food delicious. The beach amazing to walk, but not swimmable, danger signs and patrols prevent anyone from swimming. It was beautiful to see family of wales as we walked long the beach. Would definitely go back there.
Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Okay resort
The rooms were clean but outdated. Water pressure was low and couldn’t get the right water temperature. It kept getting scalding hot then turned cold. Food was okay but nothing to rave about. Staff were very friendly. Lots of sargassum but they tried to remove as much as they could daily
Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great Resort, pools & beaches are lovely
The grounds were great, very clean, staff very good. Food very good, lots of chooses. Great nightly entainment, and things to do. Only problem is I found it damp, could use a better hvac system, but otherwise had a great time.
Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Pleasantly surprised
We stayed at the Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun in January 2025. After reading a number of bad reviews I regretted our booking however, we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed this resort. Pro's-location is just 30 minutes from airport, hotel is a perfect size if you have small children or mobility issues, food was excellent, staff were some of the nicest we have encountered in all of our travel, pools were plentiful and they had good lounge chairs, you could get as many beach towels as [... read more]
Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Okay resort
Not enough beach chairs for half the resort at either pool. One bartender at each bar so the lines were ridiculous. Night entertainment was fun and kept the crowd happy. Coffee bar doesn't open until 10: 00 am. Huge resort with little to no shuttle services to the beach. So if you can't walk long distances forget this place.
