Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: Our third time.

We like this resort . It was our third time there. The last time we were there was 2013. There are some things different from the last time we were there. One of the pools was redone and now the other one will be in the summer. It really needs it. The food was good. We could always find something good to eat. The room could use a bit of a refresher. I was disappointed that because it was our 3rd time there that they did nothing special for us. Also we only had one day that housekeeping made a design with the towels. The weather was beautiful and I love the beach so much.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Amazing Resort

Exceptionally clean resort. The staff are responsive and courteous. We had a great time. It is a large resort so doesn't seem crowded at all. The excursions that are available provide something for everyone. I will gladly return.

Fabulous resort, grounds were gorgeous and very well maintained, staff were always friendly, helpful and hard working, the food in the buffets was good- lots of selection, we really enjoyed the a la carte options with the Japanese being our favourite- a fun interactive show with amazing food!! The pool was gorgeous, a winding pool with lots of areas to relax or be entertained- it never felt crowded . Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Very nice place.

This is a typical Iberostar hotel. Overall decent, clean hotel and most of all very friendly personnel. Went there with my whole family. My two kids, who have been entertained every day by absolutely amazing entertainment stuff, were delighted with pleasant activities. Our room was ocean view upgraded without any additional charge, clean and spacious for a family of four. Overall we were very pleased with our stay at the Iberostar Playa Pilar.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Good resort

Room hotel was clean, but beds and pillows very uncomfortable!! food was good, they should work on drinks more, entertainment was really nice. Beach was rocky like u can see on the pictures, but weather was really nice, what I didn’t like was reserving beds on the beach, it was sign to “do not reserve” and people were doing this anyway, they came for one hour in the morning then they disappeared and showed up again afternoon, all day bed was taken, they should do something like reserve in [... read more] the reception or something. Iberostar Origin Tainos: Amazing Resort!

Iberostar Tainos is a fabulous hotel, from the moment you arrive you are greeted by smiling staff at the front desk. Guest services, Giselle is the best, she is there to help you and to make sure you are happy and that everything is to your satisfaction. The lobby bar, Esperanza, Willie, my night time bartender and server you guys are the best! The pool bartenders are great as well. We stayed in the bungalow and it was great, the room was clean, our cleaning lady made sure we had water, and I loved the creative things she made with the towels. The grounds are very well kept, the food was very good, no complaints, there is something for even the picky eater. This is a smaller resort and everyone knew you and treated you like family, that is what we liked the most!!! The beach was to die for, the water crystal clear and warm. We definitely will be coming back to this resort for all the above reasons. I would recommend this resort to those that want that family feeling and to making friends for life. Gracias!!!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort.

First time at this resort but we felt comfortable as soon as we checked in. The grounds and the outside facilities were well maintained. The staff were friendly and accommodating. One area of weakness was in the buffet restaurant where the staff often had difficulty in keeping up with the demand for dishes, glasses and cutlery. Overall we enjoyed the resort.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Good time in a beautiful resort

This was our first stay at an Iberostar property. We stayed at Paraiso Beach which shares facilities with Iberostar Del Mar and combined it is a relatively large resort. First the staff working in the resort is doing an excellent job in almost all areas. We found they were very friendly and always with a smile. The facilities, lobbies, grounds, restaurants and rooms are well maintained and very clean. Check in was not the best. I am not sure if most of the staff was on training. It was a lot  [... read more]of pressure from the concierge trying to convince us to go to the Iberostar Plus presentation at Mayan. The pool is big and always clean. One area was closed for some maintenance. The meals were okay, the buffet had a large variety of food, we found the meat and fish most of the time little uncooked. My son got food poisoning and for two days he couldn't go outside the room, he missed also our Chichen Itza excursion. The a la carte restaurants were reasonable the Mexican kind of disappointing. The beach is nice, we found chairs available all the time. Entertainment was good, we loved the Mexican show. Overall we had a good time in the resort.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Wonderful Hotel Colonial Cayo Coco, and the best staff ever !

This hotel has been our favourite “go to” place in Cuba... It may not be as up to date as the new modern “state of the art’ Hotels but it is all about the character and welcomingness of this place... It is a hotel where the staff never forget your Name!!! And bend over backwards to do the best they can for you. I have been going there for over 15 years now, and my husband and I agree that we wouldn’ t ever go to a different hotel, as we are treated like family there.. The grounds  [... read more]are beautiful. Wonderfully kept gardens... two pools that meanderthrough the resort...a Salt Water pool and a Fresh Water pool... perestine!! There are two A la Carte Restaurants, and a large Buffet area which was added onto this past year... VERY nice... The food is Cuban, don’t expect North American food when visiting Cuba... there is enough to eat and you can find something to eat... their BREADS are to die for!! The Beach at Colonial is one of the nicest I am told... but be careful of the sea shells and coral that are found there... Beach boys come on the run when they see you to find you a good spot and get your chairs ready for you. If you are looking for high class accommodations, this is not the place for you... this is CUBAN all the way... and very beautiful... Go with an open mind, it is CUBA and things don’t go as quickly there as in North America. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: It's cuba!

Lacking maintenance!!!! Railings very loose and extremely unsafe!! Only a few elevators working!!! Bathroom door would would not close because it was falling apart!!!! Air conditioner marginal!!!! Food OK. Smokers lounge in the main lobby... Give me a break!!!!!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: A good 3 star

The rooms were relatively clean. The poolside activities were good. Meals were okay with some exceptions - pasta bar was great! I would not rate this as more than a 3 star. There were a few very staff with exceptional service but in general, the service was average. The sand flies in the beach were awful though this time of year.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Best experience yet!

this resort was Amazing! the workers Are so nice and friendly! I drinks were Super tasty And there were always activities around the pool. the food was to die For, it was so amazing. I never Got sick once, and I Tried new food. I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat!

Georgeous property! Free form pool was great ; site is shared by IBEROSTAR Tuscan . Get up by 7:00 am if you want a longer ! Pool side entertainment exuberant! Beach is nice but waves very rough . Staff excellent! Rooms spacious and always kept tidy by staff . Evening entertainment is typical . Walkways are slate with cement in between, making it uneven and difficult for seniors . Hotel Mojito: Absolutely!....The perfect vacation!

The Iberostar Mojito is stellar!! This is a beautiful resort with clean, comfortable rooms, good food, lovely paths for travellers to find their way to any one of their shaded 4 swimming pools, all of which are surrounded by beautiful landscaping. Their hardworking staff are sweet, kind and always have a smile to share whether they are housekeepers, bartenders, servers, landscapers, etc. The beach is stunning! Hotel Mojito: Awsome place to vacation

Everything about this place was excellent. Food was decent. ... resourt was well laid out...service was good ..... place was very clean... beach is a world class 5 star beach. Close too airport.. had the best week ever in Cuba. I highly recommend this resourt

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Excellent Resort

The hotel was beautiful and the service was outstanding. Food was excellent. It was difficult to get reservations for the a la carte restaurants. They seemed to be fully booked every single night and the only times available were not suitable for us. When we complained to management about this, they made it work. We were able to get to try all the restaurants but I was just disappointed that I had to complain to management in order to secure the reservations to the restaurants. The pools were  [... read more]all beautiful although we spent most of our time at the beach. Lounges at beach were plenty and there was no problem to get beach huts. Although there was a wide expanse of sandy area, the actual shore had many rocks and seaweed, which was disappointing.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Amazing resort

I just returned from my yearly vacation at this resort. It was my 6th time there. It was great especially the staff. I have got to know the staff over the years and they are always excited to see us. Its like going home. We will be going back in june.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Incredible!

The Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort was simply fantastic. Clean facilities, super friendly staff, delicious and varied food options. The entertainment staff was energetic and hilarious. We couldn't have asked for better service. All staff was extremely helpful. Grill and bar on the beach is fantastic! Clean water, clean sand. They were always working on something, cleaning something, even if it already looked clean!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: No so good

First room smelled musty and mold on furniture - changed room twice - food not good buffet was crazy loud and long lineups for food but friendly staff and loved the beach and pools front desk tried their hardest to please people city bus employees very very rude first but loved seeing the town of veradero

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: a lot to love with a few caveats

I don't want to write a complainy review of this resort, we had an absolute blast here, but there are a few less-than-ideal things you should know before booking. starting with the good stuff - the beach is amazing, the food was actually pretty good (I was expecting a lot worse but found something enjoyable at every meal), and the resort is a perfect size for me - big enough that it rarely felt crowded but small enough that it wasnt a pain to get around. The staff are generally really good,  [... read more]a few will go above and beyond to help you out or make you feel special, dont expect them to be tripping over themselves to serve you (this is cuba afterall) but we were generally pretty happy with the staff. the downside is really a shame - Less than ideal is the situation at the lobby. There is nobody around to tell you where to go or where anything is. We werent even directed to the porters and ended up dragging our own luggage accross the resort to our rooms when we finally were able to check in, which took ages as they seem perpetually understaffed there. The only experience I had with a staff person that I would characterize as 'rude' was also with one of the desk staff. And this resort seems to have a lot of rooms that are just plain bad. Like everywhere in cuba the resort is showing its age a bit generally, but there are rooms in this resort that fail to meet even the tempered expectations you should have for Cuba. There is a very good chance that they will put you in a room without basic amenities on your first night. Our first night our plumbing didnt work, our fridge didnt work, and most troubling of all, we were on the ground floor with a sliding balcony door that couldnt lock (there was a rusted metal bar that was jammed into where the lock mechanism should have been, so that was the way to open and close it), and there was no door on our safe. We asked to be moved and they accommodated us with (mostly) no trouble - we had to wait until the next day to move and it really felt like that was business as usual for them, that they use these rooms as 'overflow' while they are waiting to clear out that days check-outs. We spoke to other people staying at the resort and many other people had the same experience, that they were put in an unacceptable room on their first night and had to ask to be moved. So to be clear - the room we were moved to was great and the rest of the experience after our first night was also great, but the first impression you get from this place is really really bad. If I had been prepared for this check-in process and the general lack of service available in the lobby I would have no complaints. Its good value and the fact that the beach, food and service is so good are all reasons to consider this place, but you need to be prepared for your first experience there to be an unpleasant one if you are going to give this place a go.
