Playa Pesquero: Amazing as Usual !!!

This was our 4th time here and can't imagine being anywhere else for the March break. The food was every bit as good as some of the top restaurants in our area, rooms were clean, the grounds were stunning and very well kept by the grounds keepers and most of all the hospitality was over the top... friendly, courteous and very accommodating. Can hardly wait to return next year!

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Excellent snorkeling!

Good food (as in Cuba). Decent accommodations. Very well maintained grounds. Make sure you bring one roll of toilet paper from home as it might not be replenished on time... Bring water shoes (some rocks as you enter the water). Excellent snorkeling right off the beach.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great Resort

This resort is very well laid out and allows you to get your steps in. Even though it's a large property, everything was within reasonable walking distance. Beach was very nice Staff was incredible, everyone we dealt with was extremely friendly!! From the grounds crew to management, we had pleasant encounters everyday!

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Fabulous Resort to Get Away from it All

Stayed in the Mares section, overlooking the pool. Booked last-minute for part of March Break with teenage sons. Rooms were comfortable, clean and cheerful. Overall, staff were friendly and warm with some notable super nice and extra helpful standouts. Food was best food we’ve had in Cuba (hamburgers and beef were delicious!). The transfer to/from the resort was seamless and did not take long to get through Cuban customs/immigration in both directions.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great resort

The hotel was great. The beach amazing and the water was fabulous. I really enjoyed my trip. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The grounds was very nice. It could be better lit for walking in the nighttime. The food was better than I thought it would be. The pool area was great as well. There was so many places to hang out that you would not get bored. They had multiple pools so the area was not over crowded which I liked the best.

Playa Pesquero: Beauty beyond words

This hotel was amazing all round, the grounds, the lobby, the pools everything was more than I expected. The lobby was very well kept. Even while people where in there cleaning staff was cleaning, they cleaned 24 hours a day. The set up is beyond words. The grounds are very well kept from early morning till dark grounds men were picking up fallen branches, picking up everything that was not supposed to be there. The pools they are to die for. The rooms are huge contains a King size bed, 2 arm chairs, tv, mini fridge and coffee maker. Cleaned everyday by the cleaning staff. They take great pride in the job they do. They like their job and it shows. The food everything and anything is available. I was there a week and not once did I see a frown. Honestly the place is beyond words. .

Playa Pesquero: Resort review

Loved the pool area and beauitful beach. Every night they had awesome concerts going on in the lobby and events during the day. I found a few staff that were really friendly, the rest seamed quite cranky all the time. There were several times we approached the reception desk with 3-4 staff behind the counter and no customers other than us and no one would acknowledge us there for 5+ mins. Same in smoke shop, the clerk was to busy texting on her phone to even notice we were there. The food was h [... read more]ard to eat other than the breakfast (freshly made omelette), our room was damp and had a sewer smell (understandable as they were hit hard by the hurricane recently). I am usally not one to complain but I was quite disappointed and therefore would never go back.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful resort!

This resort is one of the most naturally beautiful places I've ever seen. Everything about it is breathtaking. The beach is lovely and sea so clear, excellent for snorkeling. We loved it and hope to return next year!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Okay resort

The people at the resort are very friendly and willing to serve you. They work hard for their tips. I was happy with the food even though a lot of people said the food in Cuba is bad. The Romantic restaurant was the best one. I enjoyed the swim up bar even though there was a funny smell some days. Even though it was march break you could always find a chair to sit on. Mine and my sons bed were comfortable but my husband had some springs that stuck out. It would be nice to have some beverages in the fridge to enjoy on the balcony. we enjoyed the taxi ride into town to visit a farm and see how really Cuban's live. This was an eye opener for my son. The dolphin excursion was the best part of the trip but costly. I think I would go back to Cuba but not holugin because the airport is absolutely ridiculous and very unorganized.

Playa Costa Verde: Lovely smaller resort!

The rooms were very clean and spacious at Playa Costa Verde. The housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Didn't care for the ground floor rooms as there were no screens on the windows or patio doors (ground or second floor level) and the room was constantly full of small flies. We requested to be moved to the 2nd floor and the next day were moved, we never saw a fly in our 2nd floor room so were very pleased. It was very, very rocky so we spent most of our time at the pool. There were three pools (two for children) and a very large one for kids and adults. Loved the pool!!! It was never crowed and the water temp was great. The swim/walk up bar at the pool was great and had some of the nicest staff I've ever met. I found the nightly entertainment to be just OK, the acts were not well polished but they tried hard. Walking around the resort was easy with great wide walkways and everything was relatively close. No complaints about he food, the buffet was always full of something for everybody and the speciality restaurants were fun and delicious.

Playa Costa Verde: Great resort

We had wonderful time, it is clean, well run resort with friendly service, great public areas, good food and nice beach. Every evening some excellent pianists, every evening different person, perform their magic around the bar area. Very friendly people in the bar area prepare nice drinks. We will definitely return there one day.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Something for everyone

This was a our 4th trip to Brisas Guardalavaca. We are always impressed with the hard working staff maintaining the resort. There have been more impressive renovations and improvements since our last stay two years ago. This is a favourite hotel for Canadians, with people returning many, many times. We are definitely booking again. Can't wait to see all the familiar faces next year. Tips: Quiet side is the Villa side (and our preferred side), busier, active side is the Hotel. There are [... read more] no exclusive/off-limits areas, all areas are open to all guests regardless of booking. Visit the Games Room staff in the hotel side just before a scheduled activity to make sure they know you want to do it (target shooting, archery, etc) as they will then pull out the equipment and head off to the particular area with you. We booked the VIP option and loved using the two bathrobes in the room. Saved on towel usage!

Brisas Covarrubias: March Break Retreat

Brisas Covarrubias is a small resort located in the country side about a 2 1/2 hour bus ride from Holguin Airport. The bus ride was very interesting as the road winds through many small communities and beautiful countryside. Brisas Covarrubias has a beautiful beach with shallow water and always seems to have a breeze to keep you from baking in the sun. There were always 3 lifeguards on the beach when we were there. I must say they were the most attentive lifeguards that I have seen in all of our vacations in Cuba.The pool is also nice with a shallow end and a deep end. We thought the food was good for a small resort. Ice cream was always available. Not a lot of variety for vegetables but they always had potatoes and pasta. The fresh bread was delicious and always available. The International a la carte was very good. Activites for our grandaughter was bingo each day at 4 pm. This was well attended and enjoyed by all. Entertainment each night was Cuban music and singing beginning at 9:30 pm which most nights was too late for us. We enjoyed our week here. This is a quiet relaxing resort away from all the stresses of life. We came here to enjoy quality time with our grandaughter and to be away from all the distractions of life and this was achieved.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: 3 star hotel = 3 star quality

Sea/beach were wonderful. Drinks/spanish coffees too. The rooms are very old though (like 80s old) and buffet is the worst but hey, 3 star in Cuba. Staff is friendly and overall very accomodating. Common areas were always very clean. It was a good choice with our 2 year old. Best part was the dentist... he’s AMAZING.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Best vacation hotel ever

This is my second time going to this hotel. I didn't realize how large the hotel grounds were. Grounds were well kept. All staff were friendly. Beach was gorgeous with lots of room for guests. Market close by for shopping. Buffet food was good. Lots of good restaurants close by. I will be back again.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Beautiful Resort

We really love the beaches there. They are stunning. How each area has it's own unique things about them. Lots of coffee bars and snack bars. The food selection could've been better although what they served was okay. Our villa was awesome. A little dated but, kept clean. The cleaning service was great.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Surpassed Expectations

We have been to Cuba many times. First time in Holguin. Our new favorite. The Beach was amazing. Great swimming/sandy & snorkelling very close by. Only a few resorts on the strip so it was not crowded. Lots of shade trees by the beach & by the pool. Never had to get out early to be sure we had beach chairs as they had plenty. Food was very good with lots of variety. Rooms spacious & very clean. Staff very friendly. Lots of activities close by if you desired to get off the resort. Fou [... read more]nd the SPA a bit pricey but treated myself to a massage anyway. Only neg. for some might be the 50 min bus ride from the airport to the resort.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Better every year.

This was our third visit to Brisas, Guardalavaca, Cuba and we wanted to celebrate our 53 wedding anniversary. Tammy Beamish our representative was kind enough to arrange wheelchairs for us at both airports, Toronto and Frank Pais, Cuba. The room was on the second floor facing the ocean, had a walk-in shower which made it easy for my wife who was recovering from having a knee replaced to get in and out of. There was a shortage of fresh fruit as they had had three consecutive months of rain which destroyed the crop. The food was the usual fare at these hotels, we never went hungry! We ate breakfast and lunch at the restaurant facing the beach and was served very efficiently by two waitresses, Yasmin and Machy. We had one meal at the Italian al a carte.which was very good, we couldn't celebrate our anniversary at the Buccanero as I went down with the flu then my wife caught it. This hotel is very good and the staff are extremely good taking care of you! God willing we will be back next year.

Playa Costa Verde: Nice Resort.

I think overall the Hotel and it's surroundings are wonderful.. Well kept and clean. The staff are loving and respectful. It is a very nice resort and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to have a wonderful vacation.

Playa Pesquero: our favorite place

Some of the rooms could use some freshening up but not an issue just optically pleasing. Our guests with us did not have a coffee pot, they said nothing but I think they should have. The room we were in could have used another bedside table and a lamp. We have been there fourteen times but not get an invite to the return guests party. I realize our agent may have been at blame but with today's computers how does that not get picked up. We are still recommending this hotel to all our friends and family.
