Sunset Plaza Beach Resort & Spa: Exceptional resort. Holiday
Our trip was amazing ! Our travel agent Debbie maguire is the best. Resort has excellent view of the ocean and skyline, very clean, friendly staff, great food and a very personal touch to each guest and family. From the front desk to the concierges, bar staff pool attendants it is the top of line service. Great attention to detail and this was our fourth return trip. The malecon boardwalk is a real treat as is Las calietas. Thank you Debbie!
Buganvilias Resort: Amazing Resort
They are recently renovating the rooms. I had one of the older rooms which was still nice. Food is fair. Grounds are very nice. The service in the buffet is average. The service in the specialty restaurants is very good.
Canto Del Sol: Clean, helpful, and friendly
Canto del Sol was lovely. Nice pools, food was good and staff very pleasant. Some evening entertainment was great, others were a bit of a let down. Overall good. Try the Rhythms of the Night tour, it was great, even saw whales and dolphins and the crew were lots of fun.
Secrets Vallarta Bay: Secrets Vallarta Bay - 5+ star resort
Superb resort. Great staff, super friendly and helpful. Great dining. Good premium brand liquors. Rooms were great and all had a good view of the pools and beach. Fantastic sunsets. Beach was a bit small being right in Puerto Vallarta. A definite come back!
Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Great resort!
Had a very relaxing vacation. If you like a true Mexican experience in a non-commercial town, this is it. Don't bring US dollars, they like pesos or Canadian dollars. Also do not expect a fancy resort, it's a bit dated but the food was good and the rooms were clean. This is the reason they are reasonably priced. Not a whole lot to do there, but there are a few interesting tours and it's very safe to head into surrounding towns for shopping or a meal. The beach was beautiful, the pools were reall [... read more]
Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Fantastic resort!
Our stay at The Decameron was wonderful. We paid a little extra for Building 1, which overlooked the ocean and it was well worth it; the beach is just steps away and the sunsets were spectacular. Mind you, the Decameron has lots of beachfront and some of the other five buildings have terrific views also. In any case, they're all a quick walk to the beach. The hotel is also the only resort in the village of Bucerias, which is right outside the front door and very quaint - cobblestone roads, pic [... read more]
Riu Flamingos: Very nice resort but bad flu virus!
The resort was absolutely beautiful, the staff were amazing, the food was great with and a great variety of foods. The steak house was really good! My son's both had so much fun and enjoyed all the day time sports. Entertainment staff by the pool were awesome! The beach was one of the nicest beaches I have ever seen. You could walk for miles and the kids had a blast boogie boarding. The rooms were very nice as well as clean. There was a very bad stomach flu virus going around the resort and [... read more]
Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Love the Mexican Feel
Hacienda Buenaventura was like staying in old Mexico...amazing. Very very clean and cozy. The staff was kind and helpful. Loved this place because it was close to everything. Never had to take a taxi .. the city bus passes right in front and it was only 7.5 peso's per person (about .30 cents) to town centre and the Malecon. Busses are plentiful and pass every five min. They are doing some renovations, the manager said they are trying to do the things that the reviews are asking for. The pool [... read more]
Riu Flamingos: Riu Jalisco
The hotel was nice, grounds were nice, very kid oriented. The beach was nicer than other Places I have been to Mexico. My only complaint is the ATM machines are always out of order, 95 per cent of the time. And this was at all 3 Riu's you could only change your Canadian money at the check in desk for pesos at a lousy rate. I had to take a cab twice to go get money from an ATM at a bank. I think the hotel is not friendly in having ATM 's operational as they want the exchange mark up themselves. N [... read more]
Riu Flamingos: Nice Resort For Family
I enjoyed my stay at the Riu Jalisco. Pros: Clean Variety of food Not too big Beauitful beach Lots of lounge chairs around the pool and on the beach Lots of entertainment/activities Great bar staff Friendly staff Close to a small town Bucerias Cons: Uncomfortable beds (very hard) I personally thought hotel restaurants were under staffed. It took a long time before getting drinks during meals If I did not go with a family I would not choose this resort. Minimal beer optio [... read more]
Flamingo Vallarta: Pleasantly Pleased
Last minute trip brought us to the Flamingo PV and although I was skeptical the night we checked in at 3am(near the airport, unsure of the location and condition of the hotel etc.,) my husband and I would go back in a heartbeat. It wasn't the service or the guestroom decor, it WAS the ambience, the location, the serenity and most of all Leonardo. A great ambassador for the hotel! The food was very good. The pool was fabulous. Thank you Alessandro and Alessandra for the awesome water workouts. Ma [... read more]
Riu Flamingos: Early 2017 at Riu Jalisco
We just got back from our 4th trip to Riu Jalisco. As usual, the weather was to die for; sunny and 28 degrees during the day and 20 at night. The room and most of the amenities of the resort were top notch. The only minor criticism would be the cable stations were all Spanish speaking with the exception of the dreadful Fox News. It would be a bonus to have ESPN , CNN or a major American network. It is good to have an alternative to the caberet style offering each evening. I would like to [... read more]
Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: My Warm Home Away from Home
The RDC is my go to vacation destination. the staff, and I mean all the staff from the ground up are all friendly and amazing! No complaints at all from me. Amazing place to go. Once you go you will go back time and time again
Grand Palladium Vallarta: Great hotel!
My family and my kids very much enjoyed this hotel! It is very geared towards families and there is plenty to do. The nightly shows aren't the greatest but you can tell they work very hard and it was enjoyable. The adult infinite pool is amazing as well. We would go back!
Costa Club Punta Arena: An okay resort.
The resort was okay. Location was best thing about it. Beach had too many rocks and the bars and restaurants had bad hours, even worse they never opened on time. Some staff were very rude. The maintenance guy was the best. So polite and made a point to talk to us everyday. The shower head leaked loudly the whole week. Someone came to fix it but gave up and never came back. Snack bar had incredible food.
Riu Vallarta: Great time at Riu Vallarta!
This hotel has it all. Every amenity we needed it had. The room was clean and spacious. The food was great with so much variety. The location has a fantastic beach. The staff is soooo good!! They run everywhere with a smile on their face and a helpful had for anything we needed. While the hotel isn't close to downtown PV, its still within walking distance of Bucerias and a whole different venue. I have been here before and would recommend it to anyone. Its got good bang for the buck.
Canto Del Sol: Great food and beach
Great hotel, stayed Dec 31 to jan 7. good location, approx half way between airport and Malecon. Rooms were ok, clean but a little shabby, comfy beds and pillows. Smallish resort made it easy to access restaurants and pools.
Secrets Vallarta Bay: Great Trip
This was our second stay at Secrets Puerto Vallarta and it was great again. The staff here really go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The food is excellent and the premium liquor doesn't hurt either. The close proximity to town and the airport is a bonus, we love going into PV for a dinner or lunch, it's a such a fun town. New Year's Eve was a night to remember with a great band, excellent food and fireworks like I have never seen before. Loved it.
Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort and Spa: Great Resort
Resort was amazing, food was great...beach very rocky. *Jorge at bar was amazing. *Cynthia and Daniel at Preferred Club were amazing. Not sure the Preferred is worth it as our friends were staying in the main building and they got everything we did....first night we ordered a bottle of wine for our room, they charged us for it. My friend got a bottle of wine in her fridge.
Velas Vallarta: Awesome Time
The rooms were clean and decent size, fridge was stocked everyday with beer, water and soft drinks. Snacks were also stocked everyday. Grounds were beautiful, pool was large and heated which was nice. Food was good in all the restaurants. Staff were all friendly and went out of there way to help however they could.
