Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Still a great vacation but resort is aging

We had a great time, staff was fantastic. Food and cleanliness have declined since our last trip here. Still good but not great. The resort is aging and needs an overhaul. A great time with staff and new and old friends. Weather and beach are always stellar. Tip: ocean front rooms in building 1 a must.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Okay resort-probably wouldn’t return

This resort was very tired. We had to go to the front desk twice just to get a hairdryer. That’s a pretty basic item that’s supposed to be included. We were with a large group and several of our rooms leaked when it rained. They don’t even address that issue. There were toilet flushing issues and hot water issues. The air conditioning worked very well though! You had to be a VIP to get bacon after 8:00. You also had to ask for it. Why not put it out for all to have some. Just serve it on fewer  [... read more]days. The only real perk was the staff. Most of the staff were great, especially the animation team.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Would go again!

This hotel featured beautiful grounds and very nice staff, they kept us very hydrated by the pool often coming to replenish drinks. I wish that solicitors did not come to us so often offering excursions and spa packages when relaxing by the pool, even after saying no they often spent time trying to convince us. Beach was beautiful, but again many people on the beach selling items relentlessly. The room was nice, however was in need of some work in the washroom, the shower water often smelled  [... read more]of sewage and had to call twice to get our safe fixed. Food was fine, however it was VERY difficult to get reservations at al a cartes, only able to get to the steakhouse on our last night which was disappointing. The buffets had many options which was nice for picky eaters!

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Overpriced hotel for the value offered

Check in: Smooth checkin. Flight came late at 11pm. Only the pizza place was open. Very good pizzas. Saved the night. Beach - there is no beach. The sea was artificially filled with sand and there are lots of underwater growth and rocks. Very uneven sea floor, ten meters from the shore if you are swimming your arm may hit the bottom. The small fridge os well stocked. Jacuzzi was a little bit outdated. Overall is decent. Sound insulation is not great. Facilities: Superb Aroma Cafe place. Super polite staff. There is a natural juice place open all day till 5pm. I suggest that you direct the preparation of the juices yourself; otherwise you may not like the results. There is a crepe place beside the beach. The crepe is gummy and chewy. Tried it once, but could not eat it completely. Entertainment: shows are ok. There is a break between the end of the show at the start of the disco. People must find ways of entertaining themselves in between. Pools: beautiful design; however, it is overcrowded. In my opinion, due to the beach’s poor quality, everyone hangs out at the pool. Bars drinks are not of the best quality. Golf: only one nearby course was working. The course right beside the hotel was closed for major maintenance work. No one knows the opening date. The nearby golf course requires a 5 minute driving. You may be lucky if you are picked up at the time assigned to you. Usually there is at least a 30 minutes delay. Once I had to complain to the manager because the car came an hour late. Luckily the course is not that busy. The course’ fairways are, in itself, a rough. You can hit the middle of it and still can lose your ball. The greens are thick, not properly maintained and very slow. The course itself is not difficult, with exception of hole number 2. Par 3s are refreshingly challenging. There a practice ground that you need to ask for; otherwise, you are sent on your way the moment you arrive. Use of cart is mandatory at 50 USD each time. Checkout: there is no courtesy room despite what the hotel staff state. There are bathrooms at the back of the shopping area with one shower and they may provide a towel. There is no shower curtain so if you bring a small suitcase it will get wet. There is not enough space to change inside the shower cabin.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Resort was great, well maintained as to be expected

Everything was maintained very well. Good food and the a la carte restaurants were very good good. Ocean was rough a few days but nothing the resort could do about that.overall highly recommend to anyone

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great resort!

Terrific staff! Very accommodating! Building 90 was a great location although facing the pool was too noisy for us - fortunately we didn’t face the pool. Restaurants were quite good particularly Yurta, a Mongolian eatery! Rodizio was not great! Beautiful beach! Nice pools. Mosquitoes got 2 of us with nasty welts that took a long time to heal!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Wonderful Time !!

This is my third time at Gran Ventana. Enjoyed my stay completely, the people there at the hotel are wonderful, especially Andrea who works the pool bar. She is always friendly and always has a smile for the customers. She has an ability to remember previous customers and always has a hug for them. She now has a coffee machine. which makes all the different types, I was able to get my morning cappuccino there, that was a great idea. If there was one thing that I could say, it would make a wor [... read more]ld of difference, it would be to have towels at the quiet pool and the young woman who works the desk could do the same thing with taking the room number and giving out a towel, you wouldn’t need more than maybe a dozen or two at her station. It would save having to walk all the way to the towel bar on the other side of the hotel and back again to the pool. This is an extremely clean Resort, the staff seem to be always cleaning something. The food there is still fabulous and they have such a variety every night. I would recommend this resort highly for families or couples … they go above and beyond to try to make your stay that much better. I will be returning there probably in early spring !

Riu Republica: Go elsewhere

We found the buildings to be rundown, 90% of staff clearly didn't want to be there . For a party resort , there really wasn't much to do . The night shows were good . Food mediocre ( don't bother with the steakhouse ) Wouldn't go back or recommend to friends/ family

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Not great

Front desk staff were rude and unwilling to help with basic requests, resort staff made us constantly feel they were greasing us for tips, and were often rude as-well. Cleaning lady cleaned out room 2 times in 7 days, and would knock on our door asking to clean in the evenings when we wanted privacy. We all got food poisoning. Our mattress was upside down and had springs digging into our backs - sleep was difficult, if we weren’t awake vomiting. Not fun. The air Canada representative at the reso [... read more]rt refused to give us our return bus timing, so we had to pay for a taxi. This was my first resort experience, I won’t be doing it again.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Shuttle drivers were excellent

Buffet dining room staff were not the friendliest . It took forever to get a glass of wine (over 20 minutes . The dining room often ran out of cutlery and food was cold especially at breakfast Rooms were ok Pool temperature was perfect Only tried one a la carte meal…we were not impressed at all

Riu Palace Punta Cana: Rio palace Dominican republic Punta, Cana

I am not recommending this hotel at all. My room was dirty and falling apart with the bad smell of mould The food wasn’t good at all, not at the Buffet and not in Resturant The service was great people were helpful. The only problem they don’t speak English well only Spanish so it was hard to communicate with them. They tried to understand what we want, but not successfully.

Riu Bambu: Riu bambu review

the hotel was really good, food was good, pools, beach. Everything about it was lovely and likeable glad i booked to stay here. Would definitely recommend to friends and family looking to go to a resort in punta cana, Any of the riu resorts never disappoint!!

Grand Bavaro Princess: Sun, sand and salt water : perfect. Resort itself: not bad, Food; Meh!

Beach is fantastic, never had a problem finding shade or a beach chair. Rooms were clean and modern. (Turn off the lights at night, combined with the gaps around the doors and you have a mosquito highway. As for entertainment… we could find none. The food is good but, the good stuff is held ransom you will wait, and wait. Half the grill is used at a time, they are in no rush, one person at a time. 95% of the staff in the resort seem to be happy and friendly.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Amazing Resort

We just returned from 10days in Paradise. The resort is amazing from The grounds , the food etc but The staff make the resort the best ever. The entertainment staff is #1 along with the bar staff, waiters, waitress, front desk etc etc We can't say enough words on how awesome everyone was... One of our Group has already booked to come back in Feb. We will all be back ?❤️

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Incredible getaway!

My daughter and I went on our first mother daughter trip and this resort totally blew us away! We enjoyed the daily poolside activities, the stunning room, incredible meals! We had the absolute best time and made so many memories here! Highly recommend this resort! My daughter can’t wait to go back

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Beautiful time!

Friendly and welcoming staff, good food and drinks. Entertainment team kept us laughing and made the experience more memorable! :) Loved the different restaurants they offered. Overall a great time!!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Good family resort

Buildings and grounds well maintained, clean, modern. Pool was amazing - huge, spacious, lots of different areas for young kids and adults. Hotel room had several issues during the week. Food was mediocre, but expected for Punta Cana. A la cartes were full and no availability during our entire trip, so book early if you can.

Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Excellente!

I just returned from a week at Secrets Tides. I watched so many videos, scoured the FB group, and read so many reviews that by the time I arrived I was already so familiar with the place! The resort is beautiful, and very well laid out. I stayed for one week in a Preferred Club Swim Up which was perfect. I love the option to spend time at the pools and meet new people or enjoy some alone time at my swim-up whenever I want. Hedral was my butler, and he was great! He is super courteous and makes [... read more] sure you have whatever you need to make your stay enjoyable. If you need anything, just ask. The animation team is awesome! Shout out to Skinny Girl; she is super fun! Robely at the Preferred Club check-in and lounges will always greet you with a welcoming smile. When the staff asks, “how are you today”, they truly care! Miguel and Sujeidy at the Reef building Preferred Club lounge are awesome. The 3 pools are fabulous. There’s the main pool, the quiet pool (near the Manatees bar) and the Preferred pool. The preferred pool was crazy busy most days. The towel game here is real. Another advantage to having a swim-up! Having said that, the quiet pool was great – beautiful, peaceful and lots of lounge chair availability. The food is good. Michelin star? No. But does anyone go to a tropical All-Inclusive for the food? You will not go hungry and there are a variety of options at all restaurants. If you’re not happy with your food selection, order something else. So much discussion about whether the preferred club is worth it, and I truly believe it’s simply personal preference. I always opt for it because it’s my preference. However, if you are on the fence about spending the extra money, I say this: if you have never done it, I don’t think you will miss it. The non-preferred pools are gorgeous. The non-preferred swim-up rooms look spectacular. The Rendezvous lobby bar is fab and always buzzing with a great vibe. The breakfast and lunch options at the Market Café buffet are plentiful. If an additional restaurant option for breakfast and lunch, upgraded alcohol and a room closer to the ocean are priorities, then you will want to book Preferred Club. If those are not deal breakers, I honestly don’t think you’ll miss out. I believe that once you book preferred, you may not go back – but, again, that is just my opinion. Overall, I had a wonderful trip and recommend this resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Picture Perfect Place

Beautiful hotel with a layout that made everything so easy to navigate. Gardens were stunning and pools were pretty too. Beach was the best for hanging out and relaxing but also for a few fun beach activities. The resort made major efforts to ensure everyone was having a nice time including a team of entertainment youth who made the stay that much nicer with their easy going get involved with some fun approach.

Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana: Perfect destination wedding resort

We were here for a wedding in December 2024. The resort is clean. There is a lot to do on the resort - waterpark, lazy river, smaller kids pool, beach volleyball, bocce ball, arcade etc. This is probably the best resort we have been to for great service in every area (bar service, maids, pool service, and servers) The staff is very attentive and you do not have to tip to get good service, however I am sure they are appreciative of any tips. Food is good and a lot of selection. The taco truc [... read more]k at the water park was fabulous. The only draw back is there are a lot of weddings at this resort. A lot of large parties due to weddings, so there were restaurants not available every night for dinner as they were booked for receptions . If you also go in a large group and want to eat together, they have a limited menu to choose from (to make it easier and quicker for the cooks and service). They did allow different options for anyone that did not want the limited menu, but we found it was better to eat in smaller groups to get the food we wanted. The beach is nice and well maintained but the water has a very strong undertow. I think there was a red flag 5 out of 7 days. Security on the resort is very good - especially near the beach area. It was a very nice resort and I would go here for a wedding anytime.
