Sol Turquesa Beach: Good resort!
Very nice resort to stay at! Highly recommend. Clean rooms and very friendly staff. The beach is absolutely stunning and a spot to live on for the vacation. Definitely lots of stairs, they get easier everyday. There is alternate routes without stairs, but it's a longer walk. Pools were always clean and very nice ! Only down side, was the food. Same thing everyday, very slim variations with food choices. Highly recommend though!
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Janurary 2018 - 2 weeks
let me start with the checkin experience. there are 2 counter for checkin. One for Diamond Club and one regular checkin counter which was abunded by about 60 people. the waiting was horrible. some people waited for more than one hour to get checked in and the Diamond Club counter could not be bothered by pitching in. The hotel is big and it only has 1 buffet restaurant and one snack bar by the pool. They also have 3 or 4 specialized restaurants with minimal seating. During our stay the hot [... read more]
Sol Turquesa Beach: A vacation gone bad
I have always kept an open mind while travelling anywhere. But this vacation turned out to be a disaster when I slipped and fell hitting my back on tile steps at the beginning of our trip. The resort is not accessible unless you are in the front buildings (100’s) It is dangerous when it rains as everything becomes slippery and there is a great deal of tile throughout. I was not an isolated case and our vacation was ruined. I will consider all of the negative reviews next time and become more se [... read more]
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Major Disappointment
in Cuba, usually a safe rule is a 4-5 star resort should be somewhat half decent. The hotel is aged and not very well maintained or cleaned, room dirty, NO HOT WATER, musty smell. Cigarette butts everywhere, especially the beach. Despite trying to look past minor things we were overall very disappointed with this hotel, will never return.
Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Family Friendly Hotel
The people here are friendly, helpful and very accommodating to kids. Resort is a little older but kept very clean. The food was very good and lots of kid foods that children like. Loved the free WIFI throughout the hotel. The pools were a lot of fun. The water park looked like fun but that ended up being the biggest disappointment for us. We brought two grandchildren, both girls, one eight and the other six years old. The sisters are very close and always play together. When we arrived at the w [... read more]
Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Wonderfull resort
The hotel was very clean, never missed a towel or anything. Food very good. The ground was very clean and the hotel staff were very nice and polite. It was very nice that we could also enjoy some of the facilities of the Royalton Hotel. Also it was so easy to get to the beach with the train transportation between both hotel. The beach is very nice and having a specific place for the Memories splash on the beach, the bar and a restaurant (buffet) for lunch was nice too. I would return anyt [... read more]
Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Very nice resort
This was the second time to Memories Splash. My family enjoyed the pools, water park and the beach was amazing. We knew going down that the floors are slippery so be careful. The service and food were good however the service and food at Royalton(which we paid extra for) was excellent. I would go back to this resort but would stay at the Royalton as everything seems better there. The value at Memories is very good.
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Nice place
It's older the food is typical the beach amazing the pool area clean and nicely done lots of hot water and pressure the room dated but clean we had butler and he made our reservations dinner and we could have a la crate every night 2 bottles of water and drinks in room every day.
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Meh...
Hotel was ok but did not meet expectations based on reviews/ranking, have stayed at better in Varadero for less $. Had to ask concierge staff (could never find our "butler") for multiple things that should have been included (drinking water, robes, towels, toilet paper, etc). Hot water is solar heated only, bad weather = COLD showers all week. Definitely not an adults only resort, just adult section of very large family resort and you will likely need to visit the family section on multiple o [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Very nice resort...friendly staff!
The service in the restaurants was excellent...The food was always fresh and delicious with many choices. We especially enjoyed the grilled fresh fish and vegetables and the roast turkey! We loved the Cafe located inside the lobby building! We went each evening after dinner and enjoyed a specialty coffee. We sat in the piano lounge and the piano player was awesome...Wonderful time!!!
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Resort
This is a very nice and relaxing Resort to visit. The entertainment is top notch and there is always something going on. The food was great as well with good variety. The staff was friendly and nice to visit with .
Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Good resort
It still has some evidence of hurricane damage, but in pretty good shape. Staff was great, entertainment was great. The room was not that good. No door on bathroom. No locks on exterior doors. I can't see how this hotel has a 4 star rating.
Resonance Blu Varadero: some positives some needs improvement
We stayed at Memories Varadero Jan 8-15. The resort is quite large which isn't a bad thing, atleast you get daily exercise! The beach is stunning! They have a section for diamond club and theres always loungers available. The bars on the beach are great and the snack bar BBQ was good as well. The food at the buffet was repetitive but that is like any resort really, and again like anywhere you go in Cuba, food is hit or miss. I ended up getting food poisoning the last night, atlas it was th [... read more]
Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Best beach
Hotel was clean, no insects or mosquitoes, slight issue with air conditioning, Room complete with fridge and full bottles of vodka and rum plus soft drinks. Good TV reception including CTV and CNN as well as sport channels. Internet only works in the main lobbies but still problems using Skype. Food both buffet and restaurants were very good and well stocked. The beach was fantastic - clean clear warm water with no stones, no shells, no sea weed in the water or the beach. Some sea weed did [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Grand Memories Resort: the 2 star experience...
No mohitos available in the hotel...in a Cuban hotel... Cuban Restaurant closed...in a Cuban hotel... My room was closest to the Cuban bar, therefore due to the volume of the live bands I got to sleep @ 1AM each night. I had multiple centipede problems in my room probably due to the angle of the hallway to the entrance of my suite, which pooled water and attracted bugs under the door and into the room. Guests are only permitted to make 2 reservations per week in the a la carts. Never had thi [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Very nice resort
We enjoyed our stat here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The pools and the grounds of the resort were lovely. The beach was great, not to far if you book the buildings/rooms down closer to the beach. The food was good, nothing to write home about but Cuba's not about the food. There was a nice variety even though and the hours of the meals were well laid out. The nightly entertainment was really nice as well. Definitely would go again.
Grand Memories Varadero: Memories I will definitely remember
Worst resort I have been in. This is my second time to Cuba and I have been to numerous all inclusive resorts. Resort was dirty, buffet served the same food everyday and a lack of beach chairs. When I checked in at 6:00 am after a 7 hour flight, there were no towels in my room and the toilet was not flushing. The room had a musky smell. Also the room was situated right across the Cuban Bar which played until 1 am. You are in Cuba thinking that Mojitos will be readily available...not here. [... read more]
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Another great time in Cuba
Considering this area was hit very hard by Hurricane Irma just a few months before our trip on December 19th, 2017, it was in remarkable shape and fully functional with the only noticeable damage being the amount of rooms that were still unavailable due to repairs. This was our first time in Cayo Coco and this was definitely the nicest resort we've stayed at in Cuba as we normally opt for a different travel experience than this, but it was a nice change to just sit back, relax and enjoy the a [... read more]
Grand Memories Varadero: Resort was ok
Room was clean Showers were always cold Public bathrooms had no locks Buffet was very crowded Beach was very crowded Not enough beach/pool chairs Had no towels on last day as we had to leave them in the room for noon checkout Night entertainment was enjoyable Food was alright
Memories Caribe Beach Resort: just ok
public areas were well kept it is a quiet resort, if all you want is to relax good place. If you want more suggest a busier resort. Staff is helpful and pleasant. Plenty of food to choose from with the buffet choices. Alacarte was minimal. Grounds were ok but need a lot of work, this could be due to the hurricane from passed summer.
