Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: The wrong vacation

Booked our Mexican family trip with travel agent Nicolle Kirk. We attempted to book the Royalton splash riviera cancun. Talking over the amenities at this resort decided to book the vacation. Was given the link and told to verify the information. Now I assumed I was verifying my OWN information as it stated To make sure the names Were correct etc. what I didn’t realize was that I should have doubled checked the travel agents information on the resort and she booked us a completely different  [... read more]resort. When did I find this error? When we were In Mexico and headed to the wrong resort. We ended up at a smaller resort with a toddler size play area (literally. We were whistled by the lifeguard and we as parents were too big and so was my older son) we wanted a water park so that we could ALL play and enjoy. I emailed Nicolle twice and called a few times and still haven’t heard back from her. The resort we ended up at was nice and the food was very good although we did NOTHING. Accidents do happen and people make mistakes … although maybe some contact to apologize? Some Effort to make things right? I ended up dealing with a manager whom apologized profusely. All in all I would not recommend this agent.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya: What a great resort!!

My husband and I loved this resort so much! The staff could not do enough for us - they were so attentive and friendly. It was the little things that we loved so much - the modern touches like wristband room entry, housekeeping requests through the Margaritaville app, the automatic lights and the housekeeping/do not disturb buttons really add up to a nice experience. We loved ha [... read more]nging out nightly at the Landshark Brewery listening to the live bands and DJ and watching sports on the big screens. Didi was the best server, we loved him!! There was no shortage of delicious foods at the Breakfast Buffet as well. The rooms are new and clean and the shower head was incredible!! I would take the longest warm showers because I loved it so much! There is no beach front yet, but once there is this place will be even better. But for now, the pools are great with a decent amount of entertainment. The foam party was a blast! Book this resort, you will not regret it!

Barcelo Maya Tropical: OK resort but not recommend

Landscape is beautiful. Room is great. Beach is nice. Food has to be better and some items over salted. Bus from airport to hotel was very dirty and smelly.,..........................................................................................................

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: has it all resort

We stayed at Caribe hotel from Oct 14 to 21. Although booked Beach hotel thru our agent, we were placed at adjacent Caribe hotel based on room availability. Initially we were offered main floor room, but on our request we were given second floor room instead. The initial disappointment turned into a favour. Room location in building 5 was more central in the resort thus closer to beach we used closer to Palace hotel. Extraordinary cleanliness, in seven days have not noticed a piece of trash eith [... read more]er on the grounds or in indoor amenities. Friendly helpful staff provided us with great service be it room service, bar service or restaurant service Beach was nice with plenty of shade, clean loungers and easy entry into water since crews were daily correcting washed sections of the shore. Clean beach and bath towels were readily available as needed. Water and refreshments stocked daily in fridge. Loved stake house dining. Would surely return to this resort for beach, room, food and service. Found the transfer from Cancun airport to be in access of 90 minutes rather than advertised 65 minutes.

Grand Riviera Princess: Fantastic

We had been to Great Riviera Princess in 2009 and it was spectacular. We decided to go back again Oct7/2023 and so glad we did. Amazing resort. The A La Carte Restaurant were all amazing and the food was delicious, French was our favourite and Miguel made us excellent Margaritas (he travels from restaurant to restaurant with a cart and makes them right at your table with different infused flavours (passion fruit was my favourite)). Very little sewed and if any they cleaned it every morning. We used the buffet by the beach and met Maricella our server and she made sure we always had everything we needed. The pools were nice, just wish they maintained them a little more and higher water levels. We went with our friends and they also enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to booking another trip soon. Definitely recommend

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Very relaxing stay

Xcaret park, at walking distance, enjoying nature, mingling with animals including nearly extinct, made this a very enjoyable and educational trip. Not to mention the excellent food, drinks, free Wi-Fi, ala carts

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Beautiful Bay, Great Service!

This hotel is nice,the service is impeccable. I don't think it's a 5 Star, a 4! It's getting old and in need of repairs and upgrades. Our room wasn't ready until 3:25 p.m., after hours of travel it should be ready on time. The food is pretty good but they need to introduce a few more dishes to provide more varieties of food. Ocean Riviera Paradise: Beautiful resort NOT impressed with trip central’s service

Hotel staff and food, pool and beach is beautiful. When we reached at the airport (flight was late about 40min) no one was there to pick us up it was night time. This is our first time here, we were very scared they told us the transit had left after waiting we need to take a private taxi. The taxi guy came told us we need to pay $78 USD Our cards didn’t work then we told us if we are paying cash it’s going to be $130USD We end us paying him $100 US cash. I called trip central and left messages also report to their rep at the resort she told us they are investigating the incident. We are back since Tuesday oct 17th I haven’t anything from trip central or west jet

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Couple getaway

Beautiful resort. Many restaurants, great food, many pools, beach was nice white sand with many covered loungers to choose from. There were 3 different bars on the beach to be served from. staff were great at all times. Hideaway section had some perks like more restaurants and an adults only pool. One pool section was under repair but it was slow time for them so understand the timing. We wish we had requested first floor because they had semi- private pool access from the room which is neat. Ou [... read more]r bed was a bit firm which caused me some back issues. The ocean was rough all week and the waves came into shore brown. So we preferred the poolside. Overall this was the best all-inclusive resort we have ever stayed at.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Absolutely outstanding resort and staff

Diego was outstanding. Damarius was outstanding. Vanessa was outstanding. The food was incredible. We will be back, and cannot recommend enough. Every single person we dealt with was more than willing to help answer any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurants, and the buffet was lovely.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Five Star Resort

We enjoyed our vacation at Coba, and highly recommend it to anyone planning to visit this resort, great service, good food, rooms were very clean, transportation to & from the beach was excellent. Beach was amazing, we got to see a lot of fish, also had a fun time feeding them. We were blessed with good weather the entire seven days, the pools were amazing, had a great bar, also great night entertainment.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Wonderful large resort

The resort is gigantic and very well kept with great customer service. Check in was a little time consuming for us and we had to wait 4 hours to get our two rooms but staff was nice about our original request to get adjacent rooms. I loved the beach and the constant breeze there. The size of the resort also helped me easily hit 10K steps each day and we liked some of the a la Carter restaurants even though it was stupid only being able to book one reservation each day. Barcelo Maya Palace: Amazing Resort

My husband and family and I just came back from a holiday at the Barcelo Rivera Maya and it was extremely enjoyable. We stayed at the Barcelo Palace and it was wonderful. From the food to the hotel room to the many helpful pleasant staff. Front desk is the only complaint. It is very slow to check in and putting wrist bands on. Kore Tulum Retreat Wellness Resort: So relaxing!

my partner & I had a good time at this resort. The views were breath taking, the food was good and the massages were amazing. The staff were friendly. cons: - Not very accessible/accommodating - condition of the area around the resort. don't be frightened by what you see, staying on the resort makes up for it. - We stayed for 4 days and water was out 3/4 days in our room & when there was water, there wasn't any warm water so be prepared for that. Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Our Second Home away from Home

We have becoming to the Riu Palace Riveria Maya since it opened and prior to that we were at the Riu Playcar. To help with how long we have been enjoying this wonderful second home we have been coming to the same resorts since 2002. What you can expect is everywhere you go the staff are friendly, make you laugh and spoil you. It is the staff that bring us back every year. Some of the staff are like family to us and we enjoy their company and their stories. You will also meet people from  [... read more]all over the world and some are also long time repeats to this same resort. You have access to all the other RIU Hotels which allows you to visit them possibly go golfing, enjoy their shows etc. I have been at other large resorts and they may be larger and they offer some additional entertainment but the other resorts food and their hospitality and cleanliness, has never met the standards of the Riu Palace Rivera. The staff from the time they greet you, to when you arrive in your room ,to the runners with your drinks, or the bartenders who cater to your every need, to the staff in the restaurants or to the housekeepers and the ground keepers you are treated with kindness and respect. The entertainment group try their best to get everyone involved with activities and having aqua therapy in the sea was absolutely a treat. Your staff within all the restaurants will go out of their way to make what ever you would like to eat and they are there to ensure you are having a good time and enjoying the food. The newer additional is very accessible if you are on the main floor. But so are the other rooms. My husband has some mobility issues and what he likes about this resort is that is not too large and he can walk to everything. There are elevators however my husband has managed to move around comfortably with his cane. There is an open area with a tub in the room which is often used more for collecting clothes but their walk in showers are amazing and have the rain shower head. The sea was absolutely stunning and yes sometimes it is difficult to get into the sea and to get it out of the sea due to the waves and the dips in the sand but once you are in it is so relaxing We will be returning next year to celebrate our 50th Anniversary and we cannot wait.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Loved this resort

We are a retired couple looking for some r&r and beach time. We found it at this resort. It was quieter than other resorts we have been to, which was perfect for us. There was a live band every evening instead of cheesy entertainment. The food was great with lots of variety. The water was warm, no wind and little waves. The highlight of our trip was the turtle class with Alejandro, a very passionate biologist who educated us about the turtle population in the bay. Aurora always had a cheerful greeting and a hearty laugh at the omelet station. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there, and definitely want to go back.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Hideaway at Royalton

Stayed at the hideaway section of the Royalton the first week of October 2023. Fantastic resort. Food was excellent with zero complaints. Room was very clean. Premium liquor on the hideaway section was a bonus. If you’re looking for a nice resort with fantastic amenities and no kids I would spend the extra cash and stay in the hideaway. I’ve seen complaints of no A/C in restaurants. Majority of restaurants DO have air conditioning, granted I was still quite warm but not warm enough to stop m [... read more]e from enjoying my meals. Weather was 40 degrees Celsius with 85-90% humidity if you’re not expecting to feel warm stay home. The staff at this resort is top notch, always greeted with a smile and they always went above and beyond for us. If you’re interested in music and fun activities the pool is the spot to be. If you want a more quiet and peaceful time the beach was beautiful and very enjoyable. A very nice mix of restaurants which were all good and the buffet can fill any craving. Overall my experience was great from start to finish. Don’t let some of these reviews with the most specific complaints deter you from staying at this wonderful resort. (Also yes you have access to the entire resort if you stay in the hideaway section)

Iberostar Waves Tucan: 4th time at Tucan, I will always return here!

This resort never fails to amaze me. From the friendly and helpful staff , the cleanliness, the wildlife constantly about, the a la cartes ( superior quality), buffet variety. ..all outstanding! Alcohol service does not shirk on the drinks prep, the breathtaking landscapes and scenery . Miss it already.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Very nice smaller resort

Sian Ka'an is a smaller self-contained adult-only resort within a complex of larger resorts, but separated from the rest of them -- and the beach -- by a 10-minute trolley ride. Being smaller, it's less busy, more relaxing, and one could even argue that a 10-minute direct trolley ride to the beach is better than a long walk from one of the closer resorts. But it's the staff -- especially at the buffet -- that make this resort -- they do a great job of providing excellent, personalized service. [... read more] Rooms are a bit dated, but they're fine -- I like the rooftop ones. We were twice approached by a manager who was sincerely asking for feedback -- that's a very good sign. Last year the beach was overwhelmed by seaweed, this year it was fine. The beach itself is sand, but there are rocks/coral in the water -- bring watershoes. Trolley transportation system has been improved since last year. It's at least a 90 minute drive to/from the airport, worth taking a private shuttle.
