Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Worst hotel experience ever!

First of all I would like to express my disappointment of tripcentral and Sunwing for keeping this hotel in their portfolio. This hotel shouldn’t be sold to anyone let alone Canadian public. I understand Covid affected Cuba, but your company should have sent your people to check the hotel before sell it to people. You would have found out the incompetence in half a day if you had stayed at the hotel. We went as a group of 18 people. Starfish Varadero: The best!!! No complaints🙏

I was one of the nicest resorts I’ve seen the beaches were absolutely amazing the people were so friendly everything was so nice the place to be…. Great activities… relaxing.. cuba people are very nice and up full… room was good….. nicest beach I ever seen… paradise … GOD bless starfish Veradero

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Sorta mostly good

Hotel looks great. Grounds are well maintained, beach is wonderful. Food is exactly the same every night. If you love grilled chicken and grilled tilapia, you're in luck. The room was nice, shower is great. The bed was the worst part of the room. We were "upgraded" to a superior room from a tropical garden view. New room put us right beside the live music every night. The music was legitimately excellent and the musicians were great, but we did several day trips that required us to wake up early [... read more]. Music was not what we needed.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Good on the surface, issues with the details

The hotel is beautiful, but dated. The AC in the rooms barely works and there is no ventilation- there was mold in the bathroom. The hotel also doesn’t give guests water bottles beyond two in the room each day and the water otherwise served is in bottles some of which seem to have been refilled with other water (labels no longer attached to the bottles etc). Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Cuatro Palmas

Fantastic resort with a great location! The food, music, beach, and pool were all outstanding. This is by far the best resort we’ve visited in Varadero. The only issue we had was a flight delay on the way home. Unfortunately, we we’re not notified at our hotel so it was a very long way home.

Paradisus Varadero: Nice resort

Everything was ok with some minor issues. Internet service was horrible but thats everywhere in Cuba. Buffet was repetative and sometimes they didnt have wine or soft drinks. Our room had an adjoining room so we heard everything that was going on in the room next to ours which was really annoying.

Memories Jibacoa: Nice and quiet resort

Our overall impression was pretty positive. The resort is a bit dated but clean. The room had everything we needed except the coffeemaker was broken. Other people complained about little things like a broken balcony handle or a leaking fridge (typical for Cuba). The beach is nice and spacious with a lot of shade from trees. A good thing is that you do not have to save spots -there's plenty of room for everyone all day long. Entertainment is high quality (again, typical for Cuba). The service is pretty good, the staff is friendly and helpful. We were particularly impressed with our Sunwing rep, Milena. She went above and beyond to make us happy and spent as much time with us as we needed. Many thanks to her for taking her time t answering our numerous questions and finding the right excursions for us! In general, it was worth the money.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort!

We had a great stay at Grand Memories resort with all the comforts of home. Really friendly and helpful staff.We spent every day at the pool and enjoyed the short distance to the beach. I only wished we had stayed a little longer. We will definitely be back!

Paradisus Varadero: Great Resort

We stayed at Paradisus for 7days and it was a fabulous trip for my son and myself. There was hardly any mosquitos as mentioned from previous travellers. The food was very good and the deserts were great. Instead of 200 Choices of food like in Mexico, you had 100 which was more than enough to enjoy. I recommend the Japanese restaurant, which was great and entertaining. The beach and water was perfect, no weeds and very clean. Paradisus Varadero: Adults only for sure

Go to the adults only Royal Great place to relax and very clean. You can eat at all the restaurants anytime and a-La-cart is unlimited. Pool is cleaner if you plan on travel in summer. With the shortage through out the world don’t except 100% after Covid. Everyone has to catch up!

Blau Varadero: Sunwing horrible

We traveled this summer with Sunwing 3 times , May to Cancun , June Punta Cana and August to Varadero. The worst.of the worse . Airport staff so rude , customer service the lowest we ever seen. We do not and we will not recommend or travel with Sunwing.

Playa Vista Azul: Decent resort

Resort was fairly decent. Great pools and beaches. Hotel room was clean, and had excellent maid service. All service was super good and friendly. Food was alright, would have liked more variety and didn't get a change to enjoy a la carte because of the lack of reservations. Over all still a good experience.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Love You to the Beach and Back

Another superb vacay! We are overwhelmed with the enthusiasm of the staff when they see us and run to say hola asking if we need assistance. The best dinner was Gala night. It was the best lobster that was smothered in warm, melted butter accompanied with tender, mouthwatering steak with flavourful cream sauce. The lounge bar staff Lio, Anet, JJ & Adrianna our dear friends looked after us in the evenings and had big smiles when they saw us walk into the room. Lio handles the bar well, polite with customers, always wanting to please. We were ecstatic to see Jesús at the Sanctuary! He was truly missed by many guests. The cart driver Luis Andres has a huge, charismatic personality that engulfs the Sanctuary with happiness. Collectively the cart drivers are fun, polite, strong men to carry our tons of luggage. Crazy, loveable guys! The snack bar staff are an asset especially Roxy. Nice, welcomed touch is the BBQ at the beach bar at lunchtime. Ribs, chicken, sausage & hamburgers. Words cannot describe the legend Alex Basanta! Oh boy he does not stop, the energy he has is phenomenal. Hard working, pleasant and most important he knows baseball especially NYY. Siempre nuestro hogar!

Hotel Tuxpan: Beautiful people, beautiful resort

This resort was absolutely lovely. The people were very welcoming and helpful. The beach and the views were amazing. The food did not agree with my tummy but please embrace it. We are lucky to stay here. Hoping to get another chance to come back!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Fun week in Varadero

Well, Kevin from Tripcentral got us a couple great rooms at Iberostar Laguna for August 1st to 8th . The hotel has reduced the over all customer capacity to help with reintigration after covid. Most of the guests were not wearing masks but there were hand sanitizer stations every where. Our rooms over looked the central pool area and had partial ocean views. Rooms were as described and kept spotless by house keeping. The grounds were well kept and the staff were attentive. Cuba still has suppl [... read more]y shortages but there was plenty of volume at the buffet and ala cartes. It is really hot there right now so we spent our time in the hotel air conditioned areas and then at the pools and beach. At this time of year there really aren’t any shortages of beach lounges with plenty of shade. The double decker hop on hop off bus still only costs $5 cdn each.we spent one day checking out the markets and shops in Varadero. The new Cuban peso was a bit of bother. The official exchange rate is poor, but these people have adapted and you can get better rates at the market stalls and from tour guides. We tipped in Canadian dollars (remember they can’t use our coins). Sunwing flights there and back were on new 737 max aircrafts. Seat backs have usb ports, there were no drop down tv sets so you should make sure you bring your own devices for entertainment. Once again, Tripcentral set us up with an excellent tour package. Club Kawama: Club Kawama

The resort staff are so nice! The beach was perfectly kept and beautiful. The rooms were a bit dated, but did the trick. The food could use some work in my opinion. The buffet food was not very flavourful, but the A La Carte restaurant meal was good.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great resort! Would visit again!

Nice resort! Good food and nice clean rooms. Great pool! Nice beach! Friendly staff overall, Selection at the 24hr snack bar was hit or miss but a good option when feeling snacky later at night! Specialty restaurants had great food especially the Japanese restaurant. Lobby was nice in the evenings to enjoy a drink and people watch. Would definitely stay here again!

Playa Vista Azul: Amazing resort.

Entertainment by the pool was excellent, as were the evening shows. Staff were very helpful and kind. I suggest you make reservations for one of the several specialized restaurants. The all you can eat was passable at best. The great service helped to make up for this. With all the activities available at the hotel and day trips (at extra cost) available it made our stay epic ! We definitely will stay here again.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: It was okay

I’ve been to Cuba one to many times. The thing that was disappointing was always getting booted off of their wifi. The hotel itself says free wifi around the resort, but it kicks you out very often. The atmosphere was great and the staff were too. The other thing that was misleading was there was no 24 hour bar or food service. That was kind of disappointing. The food.. well the food was okay, I stuck to pasta and burgers all week.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Resort!!

The resort was great. The staff was friendly. Amazing beach! The food was average, bartenders did a great job. The wifi is an issue. Overall we had a wonderful time. Will definitely recommend this resort.
