Zoetry Agua Punta Cana: Biter Sweet Review

The property is charming and very clean and quiet We liked the fact that it was a very small facility. We were sold as adult only and this is not the case. But not many kids were there, certainly due to the cost and no kids' activity. Every employee was extremely nice and helpful. But The food was really basic for the overall cost and rating. As well, all extra activities such as Spa were very expensive. Also, a lot of clients had to deal with extensive mosquito bites, including my wife [... read more] (some clients suggested that it was bed bugs due to the enormous amount of bites) The surronding is full of abandoned resorts and make the walks on the beach not as charming that the resort.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Excellent resort

The infrastructure, the staff, the food and the beach were all just as amazing as it was on our first stay a year ago. We booked the adults only Club level. The room was huge and the extra amenities including free daily golf (plus $45 USD cart fee) at the Punta Blanca Golf Course (on site) was a nice bonus. The buffet was very nice and there are no limits on restaurant dining including 5 restaurants that don't require reservations (Sports bar, Italian, Steakhouse, Sushi & Seafood) and 2 others  [... read more]that do (Gourmet & Japonese).

Grand Bavaro Princess: Wonderful resort

This is our third visit to this amazing resort. The staff and servers are probably among the best on the Island. The grounds are well kept and the beach area is constantly cleaned. The restaurants and the quality of food are excellent. The Platinum service was impeccable as usual and the extra care is noticeable.

Excellence Punta Cana: Excellent Resort

Stunning beach, lovely super clean facilities and staff were outstanding !! Great selection of food and beverages with no difficulty accessing the a la carte restaurants. Would recommend to friends and family.

Ocean El Faro: Great resort!

For a new hotel it’s definitely showing wear already, mostly from poor design. For example, the width of the shower door didn’t account for the depth of the tiles so tiles have been omitted and water is just soaking into the edge creating mold and wear. Whoever thought designing a sink with joints in the sink that need caulk should be fired from designing. Water leaks when sink is filled. The look of the hotel is gorgeous. You could always find something. Never got a reservation at the al la carte’s that required one. App never worked & didn’t want to line up at 7am to reserve outside the buffet. Coffee shop never had anything more than black coffee and smoothies. Only had mint for mojitos the last half of our trip. Route 66 was disappointing-nothing like a typical diner menu. Vacation Club (white shirts upon arrival) were always hounding people. Beach was nice but the lagoon to the west was even better for swimming.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Royalton CHIC Review

This small resort was very nice. The rooms were fairly plain (no bath tub/jacuzzi), but comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. The room cleaning staff did not speak ANY English which was challenging at times. The front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful when needed. The entertainment crew were friendly but not too pushy. Yaritza took great care of us at the bar area, she was very personable and friendly and we looked forward to her excellent service every night! One member  [... read more]of our large group sustained an injury early in our stay. The medical staff were knowledgable and helpful. Alejandro provided restaurant reservations for our large group of 16 each night after this occurred. This was greatly appreciated!

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Beautiful resort but cold food and terrible service is a problem

WE are a well travelled coupled who have been to the DR many times and are well travelled through out the world. We stayed at Palma Real for two weeks with our family. Eight adults and three children. The grounds, common areas, beach, pools, rooms, location are all excellent. You could not want for anything better. I would say well above a 5-star resort. However cold buffet food, bribery vs tipping and poor service are what takes this to a very frustrating experience and makes it very hard to [... read more] recommend to anyone. Food and meals are a very big part of an all-inclusive resort for most people. This resort did not live up to expectations. The buffet is a real issue, everything looks great and there are unbelievable choices but.....unless you get food from the grill which is cooked in front of you all the other food is cold or luke warm. At breakfast cold bacon, sausages, potatoes etc. We did not eat lunch. At dinner all vegetables were cold. Some of the buffet staff are pleasant but others look and act like they hate their job. Specialty restaurants were great if you could get a reservation. Excellent food and service. They were always booked per the reservation clerks. In the two weeks we were there we only could get one reservation through our concierge and that cost $50 up front. Interestingly enough the restaurants were never full and after a few days we discovered with a little or big bribe to the maître d’ , she was always able to get you in almost immediately. Rooms are beautiful but the service is terrible. Sometimes the room would be made up....sometimes not. Sometimes you got the mini bar and water refilled and sometimes not. The same with in room snacks (aero cookies and DR chocolate bars), towels etc. They most common excuse was you had the do not disturb sign on your door knob all day. The other issue with this resort is that there are many levels of accommodation and memberships ranging from basic through Nikte, to Circle to Black Lounge to Privileged and on and on. Most areas are accessible to most guests but there are many areas and restaurants that are only available to the higher-level guests. It makes for a real class distinction. It also makes it very confusing as to where you are permitted to go. Especially in beach areas, lounge areas, pools and restaurants. Our accommodation was next to a Circle only area with a restaurant and bar that had a 100-seat capacity. In the two weeks, we only counted 3 or 4 people using the facility on a few days. Other than that, it was empty with a daily staff of eight just standing there all day. While we in the buffet…….Trying to get a cup of coffee from a server at breakfast was the biggest challenge of the day. My ultimate point is the difference between bribing and tipping. I have no problem in tipping well for good service, but it grinds me the wrong way to have to tip (bribe) before you even get the service. This is a resort that believes in and condones Bribery for its concierge services and access to its specialty restaurants.

Finest Punta Cana: Can’t wait to Return!

This Finest resort is truly earned a part of the EXCELLENCE brand. Our room was spacious and we had a walk-in entree to a heated pool that ran the full Length of 2 buildings. The broad choice ofFood was superb in the Buffet restaurant (where we usually enjoyed Breakfast and Lunch) and in the many Fine specialty Restaurants. Occidental Punta Cana: 7.5/10.....

I'll keep it simple and concise... Beach is great, not a rock or shell. Water clear and warm. Never calm but not rough. Just wave off vendors. They keep trying but aren't super pushy. Resort clean and visually appealing. (some minor details in room, but nothing horrible) Pools nice and water temp perfect. Food was good overall. Pizza bar was good feature. A la carts mostly a joke as usual, but it is what it is for the money you pay. Coffee not good as usual in caribbean LOL (get coffee in  [... read more]lobby bar to go... its much better and hot) Staff were pleasant overall but most speak little English. Put time share staff in their place from the beginning and ask them to respect your wish to be left alone, otherwise they will keep trying. Had to complain about one outside vendor who was getting rude and manager made him leave property. Not much entertainment wise when we were there. However...The Circus show was really good. Like a mini Circ de soleil... Overall glad we went there and would recommend.

Riu Palace Macao: The renovated Macao

We have vacationed at the Palace Macao since many years and we had a swim up Elite suite for the first time in November. Fantastic! No more going up elevators and down long hallways, we were only steps away from the beach and all the amenities. We had always enjoyed the Macao, and after the renovations, it is even better than it was before. Our favorite features are the large "palm tree forest" where you can always find a lounger and shade, the huge shared Riu property beach, Scuba Caribe on s [... read more]ite, and the many seating areas available in the "verandah" which runs the width of the hotel. Service is always great, and the resort is always well kept and clean. We will be back for our 7th time!

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Not what it’s cracked up to be

Ok so overall we had a great trip but there where some issues The good Beautiful resort Great breakfast service (if you found the right area) endtito was fantastic Beach service was great thanks Raoul!! Adult only pool was great Buffet was mostly the same but good A carte (if you can get in). Only mangers to get to 4 Every time you try to get a reso there is none available or after 9pm Concierge was useless (3 of our group had them and they all failed) Too many levels (circle club, reserve, nikite reg). Concierge booked our group with a kid at adults only restaurant Kids in gym Kids in adult only section Overall will never return unless they fix the a carte mess

Occidental Caribe: Unexpected Gem!

We booked here by accident, one word difference...oops! So how did it go? Food - I found the buffet itself to be the best with a variety of foods, hard working staff and a warm friendly hostess (ill call her Flo, first 3 letters of her name). Grounds - were very nice and constantly being taken care of, from painting to grass cutting. Bartenders Juan & Sandy were friendly and knew how to handle the crowd. Overall 8/10, much better experience then a lot of reviews I read. Minor complaints, other entitled travelers and mosquitos only in the theater. Oh, Tony the Air Transat rep on the resort was friendly and informative too. In booking incorrectly and initially trying to swap hotels with air Transat was a joke and not helpful, the hotels made stronger attempts to accommodate but we ended up staying here and were pleasantly surprised. I'd go again. PS we did the monkeyland excursion, it was great, thx Kevin our guide. There was a coffee farm too, with a funny informative gent giving the presentation. Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Amazing Resort more than 5 stars

This was our first visit to Bahia Principe Fantasia & let me mention it was absolutely fantastic and highly recommenced for families. Food was amazing with nothing spared by the resort. Facilities were outstanding and overall experience was well worth it.

Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana: Go to Dreams Macao Beach!

Dreams Macao Beach was the best resort that my family has ever been to. I typically like to experience different hotels with no desire to return a second time until our stay at Dreams Macao. The staff was incredible, friendly, helpful and happy. The food was above average for resort standards. The rooms were so clean and nicely decorated and cleaned twice a day. Secrets Cap Cana: Secrets Cap Cana - Third Time’s a Charm

We’ve just returned from a wonderful vacation at Secrets Cap Cana. From the moment we arrived everything was fabulous. The beach is one of the nicest we’ve ever seen. After breakfast each day we’d spend our time on the beach, relaxing under our palapa. Late afternoon we’d head up to the pool and have a couple of cervesas at Manatees pool bar. Thanks Manuel! All restaurants are good with excellent service. Our favourite was El Patio and Gilbert was a fabulous waiter. Entertainment in the lobby each night was excellent, with a good variety of musicians. This was our third visit to Secrets Cap Cana and we were in the Preferred Club. Darling was our butler and he was outstanding!!! We’d get a text each morning from him outlining the day’s activities, and at some point during the morning, Darling would visit us on the beach. Darling took care of several departure details, which we were grateful for. We’ll definitely be back and hope we’re lucky enough to have Darling as our butler.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Wonderful Time at a Wonderful Resort

My travel partner had been here before, recommended it, and consented to return. It was just as she said, beautiful, unique, great food, lovely clean beach, friendly staff, totally satisfying accommodations and well secured. I saw lawn/garden maintenance at its best, paint being updated and bathroom accessories being upgraded. Our maid was consistently taking care of our room, separate staff keeping our fridge stocked and bar/buffet/restaurant staff and servers were quick and efficient an [... read more]d so friendly and appeared to love their role of making everyone happy. Entertainment was very good. Of most importance this week I experienced first hand asking for assistance for medical reasons and the response was amazing, efficient and extremely prompt. Five staff in 3 minutes. Their kindness and concern was so appreciated.

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Beautiful Resort but no adults only section

We stayed here the first week of November. We booked adults only section. The resort is absolutely beautiful, food was ok, drinks were great, service excellent. There were no activities at the adult pool. Our section of the hotel had kids running up and down the halls and the clubs, no matter the time of night were also full of kids. There is no adult time at this hotel, or any adult vibe. We were told due to low occupancy everyone was out together and when the theatre isn’t open the shows  [... read more]are in the clubs and all ages are allowed. We did not enjoy never being kid-free. So we would not return to this resort. Be aware that you will always be around small children, with the exception of the adults pool.

Punta Cana Princess: Nice hotel

Very nice hotel, well kept. The staff was very friendly. Not much to do there. They have a large pool and a beautiful beach. Many bars and a variety of restaurants. Make sure you brush your teeth with bottled water. Beware of the foods you eat....we were deathly sick( from the salad) washed in bad water!!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Great Resort amazing people

Beautiful resort, good size not very big. Rooms are also great. The restaurants were amazing no issues getting in for dinner. But the people really makes this resort stand out. The entertainment Pedro and Luis, pool parties waitresses Rosa and the amazing Yuritza at the lobby bar all took very good care of us!!!
