Occidental Costa Cancun: very nice resort

its was a nice resort ,,1 night wee hade the room 156 and its beside the mexicain restaurent and we didn't sleep for 3 nignt ,,the clean after the restaurant its closed and we didn't sleep,,so after the 3 night we asks to be change room ,,they put us in 435 and its was super ,,the restaurent a la carte the have 3 its very excellent ,,,the buffet was ok ,,the beach to small and the water was very nasty ,,but the pool was nice ,,,the thing they need is a pool bar ,,but every things was very good  [... read more],,,oupp no internet at this hote,l sad ,,,but well it was a nice vacation...

Emporio Cancun: mixed feelings

checkin was no problem,after checking our room,we found the toilet plugged,so we moved to a different room. I sent an email,asking for a room in the renovated section,but that was egnored. There is a big problem about maintenance,before guests move in,they only fix problems, when you complain.we had cold showers for two days. One good thing about this resort: food is excellent at the buffet and in the restaurant. before I would visit again, I would wait,until all rooms are renovated. Occidental Costa Cancun: Quaint and lovely!

The resort was quite small but what it lacked in size was made up for by the hospitable staff and amazing food. The evening entertainment was ok but lacked variety and with the resort not offering a disco or evening music it made for somewhat boring nights. Unless we had a late dinner ate in of the three amazing restaurants or buffet. There was good for everyone's tastes and we always had full bellies! I'm not sure we will return based on our love of dancing and music. But, overall the experience was great and relaxing.

Dreams Sands Cancun Resort and Spa: great spot for a vacation

the staff and service were great at the dreams sands resort and the food was terrific but we didn't get the room we requested the first night and had to spend a good part of the next day getting that fixed and the room we were moved to was quite dated and this seemed to be so with most of the rooms ,maid service was slow and most times something was forgotten and we had to call to have it made right,all in all it is a pretty good hotel not a four and a half star like advertised but the location  [... read more]is good and the beach and swimming were fantastic ,we would go back if the price was right as we have stayed at more modern places for around the same amount of money.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Quality over quantity.

It was beautiful, there is one pool and one smaller beach. The resort is smaller compared to most I've seen. It's a beautiful light blue chunk of ocean right in front of the beach though and it's is truly a hotel based on quality over quantity. The food was great service was impeccable! The rooms were perfect, beds very comfortable and clean.

Finest Playa Mujeres by Excellence Group: We just loved our trip to the Finest Playa Mujeres

We had the perfect vacation! Enjoyed every aspect of the resort: beach, pools, food, drinks, kids club but mostly fascinated with the Mexican customer service. Special mention to Carlos and Luis, servers from the pools area, Oliver a super nice and friendly bartender, Paulina from The Sweet Corner, the people from the restaurant Legends, Emmanuel from the Kids Club but in GENERAL all the people there who were so nice and polite with us and our kids! THANK YOU. Coming back for sure!

Grand Oasis Sens: Very nice resort with a few service issues

The beach was amazing. The pools were nice and well maintained, rooms were nice but could use a bit of updating and maintenance. The staff was friendly for the most part, however bars closed early for an adults only resort and the check-in/out process was very slow and painful. Small detail and not as important, but I've been to 3 star resorts that had pool side service, unfortunately that did not happen at this resort

Occidental Tucancun: Amazing Stay!

This was our first time staying at the Occidental Tucancun. I travelled with my boyfriend looking to have a relaxing vacation and we had just that! We arrived at the resort around 11pm our first evening. We met the lovely Nelly, the cocktail waitress that evening. I suggest getting the mango margarita! They are unbelievable! If you do want a shaded spot by the adult pool however you do need to get there early they are almost all shaded and get scooped up quickly! The Mexican restaurant was our favourite by far. But all of the a la cartes were quite good. The food all around is very good. Omlettes in the morning were fantastic. Our rooms were spacious and the beds firm but comfy. If you can get the chance to request an ocean view I would, our room was facing the back of the mall across the street, however if you looked out the window while laying down you still saw beautiful water. Every employee we met greeted us with a smile and were very helpful. The only thing I would have to say that I felt was a negative possibly for some was that wifi was $12USD per day. We opted against it but we were okay going without our phones for the week. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in Mexico!

Sandos Cancun: Stunning

A perfect example of a smaller Luxury Resort. I continue to read a few negative reviews about this resort, I am not sure what could possibly make those people happy. This is an adult orientated resort, you can take kids but there is no entertainment provided for them. Average age of people staying here I would say is 30-60. Check in was quick, rooms are beautiful and bathrooms have a tub and shower. Standard rooms do not have a balcony but the windows open right up. Mini Bar is stocked with 3 ki [... read more]nds of Beer a selection of pop, water and chocolate. Snacks are also provided Pringles and Nuts and all are restocked everyday. Wine can be ordered through Room Service and is brought up quickly to the room. Food is exceptional from the Breakfast Buffet, Lunch at St Trops overlooking the Ocean and then Supper any place you choose. You only need to make reservations at the Japanese restaurant, which is fantastic, we went twice. The Steakhouse was the only time we waited for a table and it was less than 15 minutes. Resort does not feel over crowded even when completely full. Pools are very pretty in the Sun but as you will read on every review the sun disappears quickly behind the monstrous hotel built right next door. No problem just move down to the beach. We would spend our morning on the beach, move up up the pool and back to the beach when the sun disappeared. Cancun is windy and the water always has plenty of waves to play in. There is no swim up bar, but 2 bars are located either side of the lower pool and staff come by frequently to refresh your drinks. Being a smaller resort helps you become friends with members of staff as well as other guests. Guests come from Brazil, Argentina, USA and Canada to name a few. Entertainment is provided every afternoon around the pool and every evening at one of the bars. These are acts brought in from outside not members of staff. Volleyball on the beach and in the pool daily along with aqua gym and trivia games in the afternoon. A very nice place to spend a week in paradise. This is not a cheap resort but you can still look out for great deals. Well worth the time and effort

Hard Rock Hotel Cancun: Amazing people and service

The people / staff were AMAZING. What sets their staff apart is their constant willingness to help, serve, please and go that "1 step further". Truly fantastic. One area for improvement would be to ensure the rooms stay current and renovated. I plan to come back and would really like to see the rooms kept to the same high standards as your staff. the food was overall outstanding. Top ingredients and nicely prepared. Grand Park Royal Cancun: The Grand Park Royal in Cancun was truly amazing, not modern but very nice and creative touches making the atmosphere just perfect !

My daughter and I just spent a week at the Grand Park Royal and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. We received an upgrade because we had booked an ocean view and our room was exactly in line with the palm trees. The upgrade was right on the ocean and in a more quiet building, wonderful to wake up to the rising sun and sound of the surf. There are several eating spots on the property but to be honest we found the buffet had a great selection of food and was very tasty. As we  [... read more]moved around the resort I noticed that the staff were never just standing around but always at work cleaning or fixing anything that need attention. The beach was lovely and you could never walk the whole thing. There were two pools a main pool where there was always music and activities going on and an infinity pool that we spent enjoyable days lounging, if we were not lounging on the beach, both having bar service. As well there was a children's pool and outdoor whirlpool. There were many quaint spots all over the property and the overall feel of natural stone walkways to beautiful palm trees swaying in the breeze and a tropical garden. The Rooftop Lounge was an absolutely stunning composition in it's own right created with a variation of gorgeous lounging sofas leaving you feeling like you were the only ones enjoying this uniquely lighted ,star studded ambisonic tranquility. A wonderful way to end your day after a delicious dinner. Our room was clean and comfortable and the shower was outstanding with two jet nozzles and a 10" rainfall shower head. This Resort is primarily a membership resort so be prepared to be approached by a sales representative. This is not a timeshare and if you decide to become a member it gives you options to other resorts in other parts of the world. I can't say enough about this Resort and we felt extremely secure leaving the premises and venturing out to a local market or hopping a bus into Cancun. You are offered a shuttle to do some day shopping free of charge.

Hotel Dos Playas Faranda: Relaxing getaway

As usual Andreas and the front desk crew are awesome and every one here makes me feel at home and welcome.Upgrades to the property are ongoing and everything is looking good... Can't wait to go back in May

Sandos Cancun: Beautiful with minor disappointments

I chose this resort because through email they said that they could accommodate my vegan daughters diet... they really didn't understand the difference between vegan and vegetarian... otherwise, clean, beautiful , relaxing ... more like a 4 star. We didn't get the reception with a rose , cool cloth and drink as others have said... maybe because we didn't check in until 8 pm.... sewer smell in room that they promptly attended to but wasn't fixed until 2nd day... very little alcohol in drinks.. we [... read more] wondered if they were virgin... people reported that plenty of beds at beach but all were saved with early morning towel placements yet most empty for most of the day...smaller resort has its appeal but also means less selection at restaurants.

Grand Oasis Sens: Service was lacking

Hotel, food, beach and pool were great. Service was poor and lacking. Room cleanliness was not up to par. A la carte restaurants were booked all week. The coordination of available bars being open was an issue.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Beautiful resort

We had a great trip but we were very disappointed in the food this year. It was much better last year. It was also very noisy with a lot of young children. The rooms were fine. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was easy checking in and out. The weather was sunny and hot everyday. Not sure if I would stay at this particular resort again. We would maybe try a different resort next time.

Secrets The Vine Cancun: excellent resort

Beautiful view Everything was excellent and very clean. staff was great. food was amazing. Best honeymoon ever. also I would go back to this resort if I have a chance to go on vacation again. thanks to air transat also.

Finest Playa Mujeres by Excellence Group: Best time ever

My daughter & I just returned from a fabulous time. We were met at the airport & from then on to almost perfection. We originally booked just the junior suite but upon going down to the beach we realized we would prefer the adult only section. There were so many children around 3 and under. They were basically good - the parents - not so much. We upgraded & moved the next day. Awww bliss. The food was great - lots of choices - gluten free, vegetarian, fried & fattening - French, Italian, [... read more] Mexican, whatever you wanted and beautifully served. Our rooms were large & decorated sparsely but very tastefully. The bed was so comfy. The staff were so friendly and professional. They remembered our names which just amazes me how they do that. I wrote down their names but lost my paper but it would probably be unfair to single out one or two they were all lovely. The grounds were well kept & my daughter loved the gym. All in all a terrific holiday.

Grand Oasis Palm: Great family resort!

Good food and service! The rooms were clean and nice. Lots of kids on the resort so it's perfect for families. The resort is on the cancun strip so it's very easy to take a bus and go "downtown" where there's really good nightlife such as coco bongo and señor frogs.

Emporio Cancun: Great beach

Visited Cancun to celebrate our friends birthdayWe enjoyed 7 days of amazing weather and lots of laughs. Let's start with the good points at the Emporio: Beach area is amazing, lots of palapas and chairs, the area is cleaned every morning so there are no large pieces of shell and you have lots of space . Big shout out to Adrian who was our beach server, he was so friendly and provided excellent service. He works very hard to ensure the guests are well looked after. Our room was large and had  [... read more]a big balcony facing the ocean, beautiful views. I never saw our maid but wish to thank them for cleaning our room, it was always spotless. We found all the staff to be friendly and gracious. We went to the Italian restaurant for the birthday celebration, Thank you to the wait staff there as they made the night memorable !! Down sides for us were the lack of chairs by the pool, there are a lot of sun beds for rent but were empty the week we were there. I would have to agree with all the comments about the front desk and checking in, this was our most negative experience. When we booked we asked for adjoining rooms so that we could use one of the Murphy beds and share the large balcony. At check in one of us was assigned our room escorted away and then our friends were asked to wait while the staff served a flight crew that had just arrived. Our friends were given the small room in another building. We went back to the font desk and asked to be together , they asked us to come back the next day. We returned and were told the larger room beside our friends would be vacant the next day so back we went on day two only to be told a different story. Because we were at the front desk we witnessed several flight crews coming in and getting service before other patrons. For us the service at the front desk was disappointing!

Royal Solaris Cancun: Girl time!!

This hotel was not really much to look at upon first glance. But immediatly at check-in, the staff was awesome. They continued to be awesome throughout the whole week. They almost always followed up "you're welcome" with "it was a pleasure". I felt that they always meant it. the staff really went above and beyond. The hotel was very clean, the room was very clean and all common areas were well maintained. I have seen many negative comments about the food, but really cannot imagine what [... read more] people could complain about. There was a TONNE of variety and options for all meals except breakfast. That would be the only downside for me. The beachside restaurant was for "members" only at breakfast so the only option was the buffet. But there was always many different choices and daily themes. The beach was lovely and we only had trouble getting chairs once because we decided to go down there in late afternoon. The pool area is tight and chairs fill up fast, but again, we always found something and we are not "go put towels down at 7am" people. We never reserved chairs ahead of time. At both the beach and the pool, drink service was great. They just kept checking on us and we rarely waited long for drinks, they really liked to keep us refreshed!!! We really enjoyed our trip!!!
