Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Faded charms

No hot water for 3 days. Minimal toiletries and coffee in room. Rooms need updating. This is a resort that relies on its beach and waterpark and hopes its guests will ignore all else at the resort. Massive staff layoffs 2 months ago. Lots of new inexperienced staff. Menu avoids Jamaican dishes for international ones.

SeaGarden Beach Resort: Awesome!!!!!

Our week at SeaGarden Beach Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica was awesome! The whole staff were amazing and felt like part of our family from the minute we arrived until our departure which came too soon. The front desk staff were overly accommodating, especially the lady (sorry, I didn’t get her name) who seemed to be there 24/7 with a smile on her face and always so helpful! I cannot say enough about the exceptional Activity Staff - Rose, Marlin and Pooh - they are superb!! The food is delicious, new dishes everyday with a variety to please everyone - the desserts and mac & cheese are soooo good! It was great to be able to experience many Jamaican recipes of varying spiciness. All of the waitresses/waiters were so efficient, especially Lisa who took care of us during many of our meals. Our ground floor garden view room, 311, was clean and spacious with a very comfortable king bed, lots of hot water, great air conditioning. Although the in-room safe wasn’t functional, we were able to use a safety deposit box at the front desk which was accessible 24/7. The private beach is beautiful, only a very short walk across the road which is healthy with all the food and drink you’re enjoying!! It is amazing to watch the planes landing, some awesome photo ops. The only minor fault we found is there are many small steps throughout the resort which you have to be careful not to trip on, just watch what you’re doing and don’t hurry - after all your on Jamaican time ;)

Sandals Dunn's River: Awesome Vacation!

We just got back from JDR and we had a fantastic time. We had a group of 14 and the resort size was perfect, we could always find each other. If you like to drink from a straw bring your own, if you like to float in the pool bring your own floaty. Wifi was not a big deal for us as we wanted to unplug for the week. Water pressure in our Saphire Oceanview room was fine. Food was great, make sure you get a cheeseburger from the grill........so good! Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Great couple time!

We stayed in the Butler Village and had a private pool. Although it was shared with 3 other rooms in the villa we had the pool to ourselves almost the entire time. Food OK. Of each the meals, portions were very good and then other items not good. It would appear that the cooking vegetables appeared to be quite a challenge. They were not very tasty (or cooked in some cases). Service in restaurants at dinner left little to be desired. For every one smiling person 4 others disengaged. Some areas of [... read more] resort a little dilapidated but there was a spot to chill for everyone depending on what pace of interaction or privacy you desired. Butlers were great! We had Reynaldo and Roger-niel. They were very attentive and went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Beautiful Resort

We really enjoyed our stay at this Resort. Beautiful Resort, grounds are Immaculate the beaches are beautiful and relaxing and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The buffets had lots and lots of choices and great food. Special thank you to Chantay for the wonderful service you provided us at the buffet as well as Eugenie for the amazing crepes. Special thank you to Rodney at the adult pool bar this gentleman goes above and beyond asking you specifically how you like your drinks which was a great surprise. To our wonderful maid Paula thank you so very much for looking after us and our room you didn't absolutely spectacular job. Also a special thank you goes to the front desk staff you were most helpful in helping us adjust to the first time at this Resort and provided great customer service. However, there's a few small things that I found a bit disconcerting there is not enough hand sanitizer stations in the resort and two in the buffet area the placemats are not washed down or very rarely did I see anybody wipe them down I personally find this kind of gross as people are laying their utensils excetera that they've used and spent food falls onto the placemats and they're just not cleaned well

SeaGarden Beach Resort: Perfect Vacation

The grounds were beautiful, the employees were fantastic and the food was very good. My family and I had a great time. The location to the airport made for a very quick transition and the welcome was fantastic

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: WONDERFUL RESORT

This adult all inclusive is a great place to stay with a variety of eating places and activities throughout the day IF you choose to attend or be part of. The Kiniro Japanese was our favorite restaurant, not only from the food selection but the entertainment provided at the cooking tables. We also went twice to Es Palau...their fish was amazing. The Galleon had great meat selection...Port Maria was our go to for breakfast and lunch....The Cornwall had an amazing selection also for breakfast [... read more] and dinner.....La Toscana was their Italian restaurant....they should change the name because IT WAS NOT ITALIAN...we were very disappointed with the food and cancelled our last night there, and chose the Cornwall. Our suite was amazing...and always looked after...the beach was beautiful and clean...the pools were nice...If you love golf you should play The Witch and Cinnamon Hill...the views are inspiring...the fairways could use more grass...putting areas were good. Nightly entertainment was very good.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Family Friendly Resort

The grounds and public areas are clean and well maintained. Rooms are great! There is a step down so be careful if you have really little ones but there is a light so you can see it at night. They do provide apt-sized cribs, good for babies but too small for kids over 1.5yrs old. My only frustration was constantly needing to request plastic cups for my 2 year olds. Everything is glass! Riu Negril: Not worth the cost!

The hotel is run down. We were not able to get into ANY of the a la carte restaurants all week. Line ups 1/2 hr before they open, and after that line goes in, they tell you the restaurant is full, and they have no idea when you might be able to get in. Buffets were good, but one closes after breakfast at 10:30 and the other doesnt open until Noon. At dinner time, one closes at 5 pm and the other doesnt open til 6:30 pm. There should be no time when there is not a restaurant open. The sports bar  [... read more]serves only wrapped food to be warmed yourself in a microwave. that is a joke, not a restaurant. Some other deficiencies with our room included: TV did not work all week. NO SIGNAL. We reported this twice, no repair. Very limited amenities in our room. Only a combination shampoo/bodywash and NO HAIR CONDITIONER.NO IN ROOM COFFEEMAKER. We enjoy having a morning coffee on our balcony before heading out for the day. We were in building #4, at the opposite end of the resort from all the restaurants. A very long walk every morning to get our coffee. BROKEN and LOOSE FLOOR TILES in our room.CRACK IN THE ROOM'S DOOR wide enough to let in light. NOT SECURE! This hotel is not a 5 star, not a 4 star either. We will not be returning to this resort, POOR VALUE. RESORT SHOULD BE SHUTDOWN FOR RENOS INSTEAD OF MILKING GUESTS UNTIL THEY GET AROUND TO IT.

Riu Negril: Great resort

Excellent food. The staff and the locals are super friendly. Lots of activities to keep you busy. Great beaches and pools. Really cool excursions to experience. 24/7 bar!! Alot of local shops along the beach with cool souvenirs to buy!!

Couples Negril: Outstanding property

Loved the layout of the resort. Everything easy to get to. The staff were amazing. Weren’t to happy with the change of flight time’s in both directions. Otherwise had a great vacation. The beach was our favourite water was always very clean and warm

Couples Swept Away: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

My husband and I have never been able to take a vacation so after 25 years, we decided to treat ourselves and it was absolutely amazing!!! The resort was immaculate, the views were breathtaking, the food was fantastic and plentiful but most of all, the staff were definitely by far the main reason we had such a great time. So much so that we can't wait to plan our next trip and we're 100% certain that we'll be going back to this resort again, and again and again - just like so many returning gu [... read more]ests we met during our trip.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Paradise

Hotel grounds is very large, but everything is spread out enough that it didn’t seem too busy. A la cartes were hard to book as they were always full, however the two we got in at were delicious! Beautiful beach areas and lovely staff!

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Great Family Resort

My husband, 8 year old son and I just got back from a week at the Royalton White Sands. We had a great time. Cons - Steak house meat was good but over cooked Entertainment - the entertainment was great, we really appreciated the obvious effort that went into the entertainment - loved Beauty and the Beast performance, Synchronized Swimming performance and Jamaica Trivia night - we loved the pride that the staff and performers showed for their country - and we love Bob Marley and all the tributes to his music (no cons) Staff Pros - honestly the staff were lovely, they generally seemed happy to serve and were very appreciative of our gratitude - Marie who cleaned our room, was so lovely and give us big smiles everyday - the staff at the water sports were really cool and made us really feel welcome Cons - when you arrive they try to get you into some time share or "resort rewards program" we were only pestered a few times, but as my husband says " we are not paying for another vacation on our vacation". - staff can be slow to respond to requests - staff unclear or off limited details and information especially when it comes to off resort excursions Facilities Pros - beautiful pools - several kids pools - several adult pools - 4 large waterslides - mini water park for little kids - foosball table -pool table -pingpong - shared facilities with sister resort Blue Waters - plenty of lounge chairs, sofas, tables to chill at Cons - the tennis courts (2) are located on top of one of the restaurants and the nets are falling down, it is on astro-turf, not really cared for. If you are a family of tennis players it is pretty disappointing. - no green space for kids to play soccer or just run around on grass Beach Pros - clean, white sand beach - lots of beach chairs and beach umbrellas Cons - pan-handlers, and people trying to sell stuff to you, sketchy people around - limited beach size - water not that smooth or still - small island off resort not kept clean Over all we gave the resort a 7.9 out of 10

Riu Reggae: Good value resort

Hotel was clean and modern, but the room was underwhelming. The restaurants were good and the service varied from average to very good. The entertainment staff were friendly and engaging. The resort had an energetic vibe and guests participated in organized activities including beach volleyball, horseshoes, crazy games, etc. The beach was average (pebbly and some seaweed) and walks were limited to about 1 km. There were ma [... read more]ny planes flying overhead, but it didn’t really bother us (some people made a drinking game out of it). Overall, for the price, it was a good resort. I would not call it a 5 star, more like a 4 star.

Couples Tower Isle: Amazing resort, friendly staff

We absolutely loved this resort!! Only 220 rooms. No line-ups for anything! Food was great, staff were very acommodating. The nude sunbathing island was definitely our favorite part of this resort. No more tan lines. The fact that there is so much included is also a huge bonus. Trips to Dunn's River Falls, catamaran, glass bottom boat, water-skiing, knee boarding, all included. Sunset at the Palms: Perfect for a small,quiet and children free resort

The grounds at this resort were beautiful. So many different kinds of plants beautifully kept. Rooms were adequate but lacking hangers and drawers to put things away . Food was good and beach was great.

Riu Ocho Rios: Good Resort

The resort was slightly dated, rooms had a mouldy smell, bed covers and pillows also had an unpleasant door. The food was good but nothing exceptional. The services was laid-back, view of the tropical forest hills was amazing! The resort is small so everything was relatively close. Best part wifi coverage almost everywhere on the property.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Great time!

This is a large resort and you should be in good health to really enjoy getting around. The accommodations are very nicely spread out and well done but there are 3 stories and no elevator. Seniors should request a ground floor if possible. There are shuttles but it is more fun to do it on foot. There are 3 buffets and 7 a la carte restaurants. Pools range from HUGE near the centre of the resort to smaller and more intimate in other areas. All have bars of course. The main bar in the central area overlooking the main pool (Miss Lou’s) is great for shade and card playing in the afternoon and for entertainment at night. Other entertainment is also available. You can do as much or as little as you want. Get on Jamaica time, slow down and enjoy.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: great location, great food, great beach! good value!

The beach area is awesome and perfectly clear water. No seaweed either. Food was great with good variety! I was at the same resort 5 weeks ago, and they all remembered me and made me feel VERY welcome. If I was not going to Mexico in 8 weeks, I would be going back to this resort!.
