Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: A Great Resort, but the name is very deceiving

We had a great week. The food was excellent, the grounds were well kept, the staff was phenomenal. however the lack of any beach front or ocean swimming on the resort was shocking. Given that it’s called Playa Pilar one would only assume it’s a step to playa Pilar, but instead you must take a bus that is usually too full or a taxi which costs $5 American per person (so for 5 people it’s $25 AMERICAN!) for the 4 minute drive! Walking is not really a safe option.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Our eleventh trip to a piece of heaven.

Like many of the hotels in Cayo Coco, the Hotel Colonial suffered from the hurricanes in the recent past. Their recovery has been slow and hampered by the missed promises of IBEROSTAR. Since CUBACAN has taken over the resort there have be significant improvement to the place. The age of the Colonial does present problems. The grounds and condition of the the buildings has significantly improved since we were there in March 2019. They are still battling with 1963 technology as far as hot wa [... read more]ter, although we had hot water for 6 of our 7 day stay. The staff were phenomenal as always.

Sol Cayo Coco: Wonderful resort

We have stayed at Sol Cayo Coco 5 times past 2 years and never fails to please us. It is the wonderful friendly staff, beautiful grounds and not to mention 2 magnificent beaches that keep us coming back. Looking forward to spend more vacations here

Gran Muthu Imperial: Relaxing Luxury Hotel

Overall hotel was very nice. Food, well it is Cuba. We have had better food at 3 star hotels. Entertainment at night was not good at all! We attended the shows a couple of nights but wasn't pleased. The grounds are very beautiful, the hotel is new so it will need more time for plants and coconut trees to grow. Rooms are moderate, beds are comfortable and shower has nice water pressure. We were told to come back early morning so they could accommodate us, we were able to checkout 2 rooms on which one we preferred with the king size bed and the beautiful view. The staff were nice enough to drive me back and forth from the lobby to the rooms to checkout. Hotel grounds are very clean and maintained. Tip: bring cash! The resort does not have a bank machine. There is a bank down the street at the Daiquiri Hotel it is a 5-10 min cab ride for 5$peso. You can also walk on the beach to the hotel it's about 40 min walk. if you do go to the bank you will need your passport and the hours vary.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Picturesque Resort

We have visited many resorts and keep coming back to this smaller, picturesque resort. The beach is excellent with crystal clear water. If a storm brings in seaweed the beach is cleaned quickly and this area is well maintained. The rooms are big as older resorts generally are and in good shape,if you have a problem the maintenance staff will respond quickly. The food is good although during our last visit in Jan 2020 the staff at the a la carte restaurants were under training which resulted in  [... read more]some confusion and should be rectified with time. The staff in the buffet are excellent and work hard to provide the service you expect. The main reason we return to this resort is the staff which work hard to ensure you enjoy your vacation. The personnel at the main desk are great as are the bar staff and generally all the people working there are most friendly even though some guests are a little grumpy. We will continue to return.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: I would have loved to seen this Resort in its day!

So much potential if the time and money were spent. The staff is fantastic, the beach and ocean is one of the best in the world, but years of neglect has finally caught up. Only go if you get a reduced price, the resort isn't worth full price anymore.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Perfect for the price

Perfect for the price. Heavenly beautiful, friendly staff, good food, peaceful environment, anything you expect for a vacation. We just lived the place. Highly recommended for whoever wants to relax.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: A lovely place for sun, sand, and a drink in your hand

The hotel: overall we found this place very clean and inviting. The lush grounds are meticulously very meticulous kept. The room: we went one up from the basic room to ensure we got a renovated one. Our room was spacious with a sitting area, the furnishings were modern, and the bathroom was nicely renovated. The bed was not the greatest, a little hard, but we still slept well. We were on the second floor which was nice because we slept with the patio door open (never had any bugs). That bein [... read more]g said, on the day of our departure check out was at noon but our bus to the hotel was not until 6:45pm. So we were allowed a courtesy room for 30 min in the evening so we could shower and change. This room reeked of humidity and mould. I definitely could not have slept in that room. The finishes in that room were also poorly done and kind of well, gross. Hopefully that room is only for showering. The food: people love to complain about the food in Cuba, but honestly we were well fed and enjoyed the food. The buffet was clean and well stocked. The morning pastries were amazing! There was usually a bit of a wait for the pasta bar, but worth it. The staff: this is my second time to Cuba and I did find the staff could have been a little friendlier. They weren’t rude or anything, just not very outgoing. I would have loved to get to know some of them, but they just sort of seemed more interested in getting their job done. The beach: AMAZING!! If you’re a beach person, Cuba is the place to go. The sand is a powdery soft white, and the water is the clearest you’ve ever seen. We took a catamaran/snorkeling excursion but honestly it was not needed. We snorkeled right off the beach and saw tons of fish and starfish, even a bit of coral (there was more coral on the excursion). The one thing that bothered me is that there are signs saying it is not permitted to reserve chairs, but we quickly find out that if you don’t reserve your chairs (which everyone does) you won’t be able to get one until the very end of the day. It was frustrating to see chairs covered with towels sitting empty for hours while other searched for chairs with disappointment. The no chair reserving rule really should be enforced. Entertainment: Good, had lots of fun at the white party. The staff was fun and inviting. Overall, really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place. If you are looking for something luxurious with gourmet food, this might not be the place for you. But if you want a clean, comfortable, and fun place on a budget, I’d definitely recommend the Memories Caribe

Melia Cayo Coco: Lovely Resort

My husband and I are in our early 50s and this resort was a great place to just chill. No kids with harried parents or hawkers on the beach. Food was good and of variety, drinks were delicious and the people amazing. Go, you won’t regret it.

Melia Costa Rey: Beautiful beaches

The beach was amazing had a great time swimming , room were good Lots of problem with water literally lost water while showering or only had cold water Hard to get another bottle of water in room even with the 3 people in the room we were tipping lots Food ok but our alacate were pre picked for us and super late at night 8:30 pm I’m allergic to fish first restaurant was to seafood People were nice but service was very inconsistent Don’t think we’d go back but it was nice I gues [... read more]s for the price

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful beach

Beautiful beach, not impressed with food, no hot water, air conditioning was not working more than it worked and staff could be friendlier with more entertainment. Wasn’t worth upgrading to diamond club

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great Beach

This is our second time to this resort in the last two yrs.because of location and beach. The resort is ok but needs an upgrade to food selection and restaurant service quality just not there when we were there also not enough beach chairs or pool area. People had to get up at 7 o'clock to get half descent lounging areas. The resort visually looks great but needs lot of work not enough workers there to support client's needs. Hotel Mojito: Staff make this Resort the very Best to Visit!

This resort is an awesome place for vacation, the rooms are in need of a bit of updating but are very clean, the food is awesome, lots of choices and the dessert bar is fabulous (love the Cuban Ice-cream) The beach is a wee bit of a distance to walk to over a bridge, however when you arrive it is so amazing, lots of space on the beach and you can walk for ever! Hotel Camino del Mar: Absolutely Awesome!!

This was an amazing vacation! The Melia Cayo Guillermo and their staff more than met our expectations!!! Melia Costa Rey: So,so good

We got back from Pullman on Jan .28 where we spend the very best holiday ever. We have no complains, we had hot water and pressure all the time, although some people in other part of the resort experienced problems. Food in Main Buffet was so,so good. Our room was always cleaned to perfection. If we could complain about anything it would be the staff behind the bar in Main Lobby they were not very friendly at all, so we stoped tipping. Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Amazing Resort

I have to say the staff at this Iberostar Daiquiri was very out going plus they went out there way to make sure everything was okay Room service was very good and room was all the time clean and as the same would go out there way too. The same go's for the food and staff. All I have to say is my stay at Iberostar Daiquiri was very good and looking forward to go back down there on Saturday Nov 28/2020 and see all the staff again.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Super friendly staff !

I went with my mom for a batteries charging week ! We had a great time ! It was Super relaxing, the staff was crazy friendly ,the entire resort was very clean but unfortunately NO HOT WATER in our room all week!

Melia Costa Rey: Fantastic trip!

We had an amazing trip here at the Pullman! By far the best resort I have been to! The staff are amazing - kind and fun, very efficient and helpful. The food was actually good, especially the a la cartes. Even the buffet was better than what I’ve had in Cuba before. Good options, even for a vegetarian. Definitely worth waiting in line for the omelettes in the morning and the pasta station for dinner. The rooms were clean (I didn’t see a single bug in my room). I heard there was issues wit [... read more]h some people running out of water in their rooms but I didn’t have that experience- our showers always worked, good pressure and never ran out of hot water. And of course the beach is incredible, that goes without saying! The pools were nice and clean, but did get very busy so it helps to have someone in your group willing to go save some seats early! All in all, I had a great trip here and don’t really have anything bad to say about this resort.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Very clean

Was very impressed with the cleanliness of this resort. Garbage cans were very prominent and guests and groundskeepers obviously used them. We were on the 2nd floor in a deluxe room and really enjoyed it. The beach area has many lounges and palapas. Our first week the beach was perfect and the second a lot of weeds came up after a big storm. Big cleanup job. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Fun times

We went to the Memories Caribe jan 19, 202 for a week.The resort was excellent our room was clean and sufficient. We particularly enjoyed the entertainment staff. Amazing talented people. The shows through the day and at night were were amazing. Volleyball at the beach was a blast, Michael coordinate s a challenging game.
