Paradisus Rio De Oro: Truly Paradise.

My boyfriend and I came to this resort in hopes of escaping the reality of the crazy Toronto life and to relax for a week. It was the greatest week of our lives. Thank you for making this so special. We will absolutely be returning in the near future.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Value for the Money

The trip certainly fulfilled my expectations given that it was a 3-star hotel. _PLUSES: -very clean with pleasant cleaning staff; -food was plentiful and ranged from mediocre to good; -beach was amazing and there were several pools; -excursions were well planned and incredible, especially the catamaran trip and swimming with dolphins: -well-suited to families and seniors; MINUSES: -beds were most uncomfortable and pillows were useless and requests for more comfort were ignore [... read more]d; -entertainment was mediocre and not well-suited to teens through thirty-year olds, according to my 23 year-old grandson; -V.I.P. service at the airport in Cuba was not as good as expected; we were not given adequate information and the employee providing it was distracted; promised pre-boarding was not provided and people were pushing forward during the boarding process; -front desk staff seemed either very pleasant or very short-tempered. Playa Pesquero: Great family vacation

My husband and I just got back from this resort where we stayed with our 2 and 4yr old girls. The hotel was very clean, the grounds were well kept and the staff were all friendly. The food was good for Cuba but the best meals were our meal at the la carte’s “romantico” restaurant and the Cuban. My husband had the lobster and shimp which was amazing and we aren’t usually seafood ppl. The ladies at the kids club were great but the kids club could afford some updates. I personally was missing more music playing around the pool and on the beach and didn’t find the beds comfortable but overall it was an enjoyable week.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great trip

Very clean ressort.. staff very helpful and friendly from the gardener to security to maid ect...many choice for food and restaurents..we were there for a wedding organized by the resort and all was perfect her name was Elsa very nice and organize person ..I have nothing bad to say about the resort

Playa Pesquero: 10/10 will recommend

We went for our honeymoon here it was great. The weather the beach the cleanliness it was paradise. The only con I can think of is the food is OK not the greatest but other than that I would recommend.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Nice Resort

This hotel is very nice but spread out on a large property. If you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you (a lot of steps from room area to lobby area). Rooms are nice and spacious, we were 3 ladies and had 3 single beds which was very practical. The only really down side is that they do not offer bottled water at the buffet unless you are booked ''Diamond Club''. Water is pretty much a necessity when you are spending so much time out in the sun and need proper hydration. The water  [... read more]served was not detrimental to your health but tasted really awful. The coffee tasted the same as it was prepared with the same water. The beach area is ok and you could always find chairs and proper shade. Personnel were friendly and helpful.

Great service, will go back again. Few Recommendation on changes: - Rooms is missing "do not disturb" sign. Some days wanted to sleep in but workers kept knocking on door. - Not many fruit selections. Resort did not have bananas. Very important fruit. - Also resort should have signs near food stations stating do not grab food with hands. Many locations had tongs, but some disgusting people were grabbing with their hands. Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Reurning Guest LOVE IT

I travel alone a feel safe at this resort. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Love the Alacart restaurants, beach and VIP pool. I was a little disappointed with the condition of the rooms, could use some fresh paint.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Fantastic resort

From the moment we arrived we and saw the view of the ocean and pool from the other side of the lobby we knew we where in Paradise!! A special thanks to the amazing staff starting with the waitresses YALIENNY,LLENMA, YLENIA They understood and spoke English well and offered excellent service. We were very satisfied with our stay at Club Amigo. The staff was very friendly and professional. Our villa was nice and clean and the variety of restaurants was also nice. Brisas Covarrubias: Relaxing

2hr drive from airport so don't be surprised. Food was sufficient, all of my favorites fish and fruit. Staff are like one big family, very nice. Beach wow. Shallow for a bit but crystal clear. You can find imperfections if you look. But I got just what the doctor ordered.

Playa Pesquero: Resort very nice

Everything was very nice. The only negative is more towels and we smoked out on the balcony and there was no ashtray Beach was great, grounds were kept nicely entertainment was good People who work at the resort were very friendly

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Good time

I reluctantly returned to this resort but was happy to see the changes made in the 2 years. Hot shower everyday, friendly staff and better drinks. Food still needs more variety! I will return someday.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Another Wonderful Holiday

This was our second enjoyable vacation at the Paradisus and we have really discovered something special here. The beautiful grounds and the accomodations are always being cared for and improved by the staff. The customer service is very friendly and thoughtful. We liked the variety of quality foods and food service offered at the main dining hall and the a la carte restaurants. Our trip highlights included a wonderful wedding destination ceremony and dinner at the Royal Service beach and outdoor dining area as well as hearing a heart-warming opera duet perform arias accompanied by a lovely piano player in the main lobby one hot and breezy sunny morning. Birds are chirping everywhere and the vacationers keep coming back for more. Many happy holidayers we spoke to have made this their choice destination 10-20 times...Wow! We understand why.

we started our stay off in the tropical room. Pretty basic with a view of the parking lot. We upgraded to the ocean view which was much better for 5 peso. staff was friendly. Would not recommend the Italian restaurant.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: bad resort

My husband and I went with 5 others on our honeymoon. We have been to Cuba many times but this was our first time to Holguin and 1st time at Sol Rio de Luna y Mares and it will definitely be our last. I usually try and book our vacations with a large travel company like Sandals, Breezes, Riu etc. so I thought Melia would be safe WRONG!!! The hotel lobby , bars and landscape are nice and the beach is beautiful but was to windy so it was hard for swimming since there was a strong undertow. Large cracks in the ceiling, rusted tub/shower, the bedspread and curtains looked like they hadn't been washed in a year or 2 not as clean as other places we've stayed at. We had to change our room when we arrived as we got a room with 2 small beds and requested a room with a kingsize bed , after all we were on our honeymoon. (Also they didn't even care that we were on our honeymoon no upgrades at all no complimentary anything not even a congratulations) Three of our family members who were sharing a room had to wait 3 1/2 hours to get a room when they arrived and once they did get a room they had to change it the next day as on the first night the toilet flooded, the fridge didn't work and they also had paid the extra for a superior oceanview room which it was not at all. The next day when they changed rooms they got a suite that was oceanview however they had to pay another $46.00 US a night. and by day 4 they had a leak in the ceiling in that room. What a joke this place was. We had to constantly get our swipe cards for the room redone at the front desk, sometimes it was 5-6 times a day that we had to do this as you would go back to your room and couldn't get in then would have to walk all the way back to the front lobby which was not close at all. The buffet was very small for the size of this resort and was the exact same every single night (we stayed 2 weeks and it never changed!!!) All 7 of us got sick at some point from the food for a couple days throughout our stay. As for the al a carte restaurants (we tried them all and even went to the steak & lobster one which you pay extra for) they all were bad except for the Italian one. People were very nice as they always are except the front desk staff and customer service office. They are very disorganized and every time you went to the front desk 4 or 5 people would be standing there and only 1 would be working and they made you feel like you were a nuisance to them and they never smiled either , very uninviting. The resort is large and lots of walking and also many small 2-3inch steps that many people fell and broke ankles, legs, arms etc. I have never seen so many injured people at a resort , it is a friggin death trap especially at night when walking throughout the resort. The entertainment is limited. Every night they had something going on but it only lasted for 30 mins to 1 hour max. Most people were in bed at 11pm and it is very quiet no music nothing at all going on. When we went into Guardalavaca we found a gas station, a factory and an outdoor market with about 20 tables of locals selling souvineers that's it, no bars, no stores, no restaurants NOTHING!!! I felt like I was in a retirement home in Florida. If you want a place where you never leave the resort , want to go to bed early, don't care how bad the food is and how old your room is then this is the place for you. As for the 7 of us we will never be back or ever recommend this SH_T!!! HOLE.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Blau Costa Verde

I have not been to Cuba before, so my views must be considered accordingly... Also, Blau Costa Verde was in transition to being sold to another owner. Regardless, room was okay as a 4 star hotel but food was less than expected. Beach was also not so great; first 10 feet into the ocean was rocky at the bottom along the coast line. Staff did not speak English; few and far in between did. Staff was supportive.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great all- inclusive resort

Excellent hotel. Amenities were great. Food was manageable- buffet had food for all palates. Grounds were breathtaking- lot of foliage. The infinity pools were incing on the cake. It was a great place for kids.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Wonderful resort

This resort is truly heaven on earth. From the pool to the beach to entertainement and food and even the room!! It is amazing. I went alone and didn't feel bored. People are so nice and respectful. And It is a safe place. You will not regret staying there and I am going back soon. Must try - Japanese restaurant :)! It is worth the money.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Good 3 star hotel

So, did not likes: Late arrival, late departure-no dinner, room with ants,spiders, did not like guy name Roberto,desserts-they could make cakes, Liked: amazing view from the balcony,ice cream, salad bar
