Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Beautiful Resort

The resort is beautiful the grounds and rooms are amazing the only problem is the food is not tasty the staff at the restaurant ignore you if you are not Spanish speaking and the staff in the buffet area and a la carts don’t speak any English also they also had an international night where they did dancing from Dominican from Spain from Brazil from the USA but nothing from canada I guess it’s a small world

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Premium Resort

The resort is a a very nice high end resort. The courtyard at night is breath taking. The rooms are all high end and done up very well. I do think the roof top terrace is overrated, would prefer a 2nd bathroom to a terrace that is too hot and never used. The food quality is good, portion size and cooking of steaks, med, well, well done are inconsistent. The biggest attribute to the facility is the service and hospitality. The beaches are nice but do have daily seaweed and venders are present da [... read more]ily all day. The WIFI is descent but we did have to get new User and password ID 4 times. The room keys failed only once during our stay, this is a common occurrence regarding room keys. In general, Punta Cana is getting very pricy, risk advisories have been upgraded to Exercise a high degree of caution due to crime. Roughly $600 per day for 2 people compared to $225 per day at a nearby island.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: disgusting place...

I had been to this complex twice before and it had changed into complete craphole. Uncomfortable beds, cleaning stuff that cleans room only if its convinient for them, cart drivers that only stop on their stops and will ride past you even if you flag them unless you are a cute columbian girl or one of their buddies. then they can stop in the middle of a route and spend 5 minutes chit chatting with them with people in the cart waiting. Rude jaded stuff at the restaurant and bars, a reception d [... read more]esk that does nothing to fix issues unless you come to the lobby and start very noisy scandal. Absolutely attrocious food that had poisoned my family and we spent 1 week of 2 going back and forward to the hospital to deal with major food poisonning, both my kids and my wife had to be hospitalized with iv and it costed 6k+ usd to my travel insurance. Beach was ok but it was full of sand flies that covered legs of people with hundreds of red wounds. Pool was ok, but a lot of tiles were broken off on the bottom and my kids cut their feet on sharp edges and had to walk with bandaids for a day. Hotel had 2 working coffee machines, ones where you hit button and get automatic coffee. No expresso bars anywhere. Forget about fancy latte or anything else along those lines in a country where they grow coffee. Aparently thats too much to ask. A buffet only has a couple types of tea. They serve coffee only at breakfast. They will not bring you coffee any other time. And of cause, no decaff... To make things even worse, they had very bad free wifi which pretty much make you buy paid package which promisses up to 9 devices access to it, but nether me or people at customer service were able to connect any devices beyond one i had paid for it with and they told me they will reimburse the charge. Guess what, in order to do that, they tried to make me sign paper that forbids me from saying any negative things about that hole of a hotel. Oh and they did not tell me that this is what i am signing. They just said its a report that i submit for refund. I torn it into pieces and thew it in their faces. Last, air transat staff were rude and unhelpful. They used to have people who could speak fluently with you, but not any more. Now its couple locals who sit and watch youtube all day and have 0 interest in helping you. They were so rude that they started mocking me and my wife when we did not understand what they ment when they were talking to us. I will not going to ANY BAHIA PRINCIPE hotel ever never again.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Good and Bad

The Hotel it self was very beautiful, the food was above average, the room,pool and weather were also good. That was the good. The service at the lobby bar and in 2 of the 3 allacarts were horrible. Tried to get water for our room everyday was like pulling teeth from an angry lion. Friday to Monday if you were not a local, forget trying to get food little alone water was impossible. Would never go there again.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Highly recommended!!!

Beautiful resort, stunning beach, great food but most of all AMAZING staff!! Thank you Ady, Sthephany, Julio, Katarin, Nuham, Roal and Daniela and all the staff you made us feel welcome and special! Everything was Excellenté!!

Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana Hammock: Hotel & Staff Excellent

The hotel, room and staff were 5*, the restaurants and food were 3*. We would not go back because of the restaurant situation. You did not know from one day to the next what was going to be open or shut. We think it was probably that the place was not full so opening all the restaurants was not efficient business practice.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Great resort

Me and my friend booked this trip from Kevin Dupuis at trip central . He knew what we liked and chose magestic colonial amazing choice…the grounds were breathtaking staff were great food and drinks very good,rooms very clean…. We have no complaints …. Going back to this resort hopefully very soon we were on club side and we loved it

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Real Majestic

Let me pointed first that this review applies mostly for Elegance Club Adult only packages. Regular packages does not have these perks so take it under consideration when choosing package. Resort itself is "a magic" - it was designed with a mind that rain in tropical is regular event and normally you need umbrella(and preferable huge one) but not for this resort - it is designed in the way that walking from any room in any building to practically all restaurants and buffets as well as to night  [... read more]show hall and disco club you can travel under the cover so no umbrella needed(only Argentinian Stakehouse and See and Sea restaurants require short walk not covered by the roofed path (Stake house is about 25-30M and S&S is little more- about 50m from nearby covered path) Food variety is big enough - so I think that everyone can find not only something to eat but something which you really like and prefer to eat. Entertainment at night: Shows are similar to most of hotels in Punta Cana area so nothing special but still enjoyable especially (because) drinks are served so you don't need to interrupt you relax time by staying in line at the bar(unless you want it :) ) - just sit , order and watch. Special kudos to Disco Club - most of the time you will hear word time hits not just domestic bachata or merengue (some DJ in other hotels just ignore the fact that resort's disco is for mostly North America and Europe tourist ). Also it is really air conditioned so you can enjoy dancing for long time). There is also sport bar which is really cool to watch any sport event in real time (opened from 2pm till 2am) - HUGE tv's , bar and games. Beach: While nearby Colonial hotel and most notable Royalton (Hadeout Adult only section ) suffered huge damage from recent hurricanes (never thought that it was possible but fact is that sea clamed these beaches and now these hotels have steep cliffs instead of smooth beach) this hotel wasn't damaged and beach is perfect as well as entry to the sea - no rocks or underwater grass) And what I mostly like about this beach is Bali beds - only one caveat - there are not enough of them so you have to wake up very early in order to be able to enjoy them. After 9am they all gone regardless weather (unless rain is pouring all day and morning). Service: VERY, VERY good. Attentive, polite and trying hard to make you vacation "wrinkle free". Huge kudos to our battler Olbis - if you get him consider yourself lucky (if not ask for him) - practically all your wishes, desires and request will come trough - just ask. Girls at the beach bar Angelina and Maxima will serve you right "into the bed" (but don't forget to tip of course) - so there no point to go and get drinks by yourself - lay down and relax. This is was my third time at this hotel and I tell you definitely not last.

Zoetry Agua Punta Cana: Biter Sweet Review

The property is charming and very clean and quiet We liked the fact that it was a very small facility. We were sold as adult only and this is not the case. But not many kids were there, certainly due to the cost and no kids' activity. Every employee was extremely nice and helpful. But The food was really basic for the overall cost and rating. As well, all extra activities such as Spa were very expensive. Also, a lot of clients had to deal with extensive mosquito bites, including my wife [... read more] (some clients suggested that it was bed bugs due to the enormous amount of bites) The surronding is full of abandoned resorts and make the walks on the beach not as charming that the resort.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Excellent resort

The infrastructure, the staff, the food and the beach were all just as amazing as it was on our first stay a year ago. We booked the adults only Club level. The room was huge and the extra amenities including free daily golf (plus $45 USD cart fee) at the Punta Blanca Golf Course (on site) was a nice bonus. The buffet was very nice and there are no limits on restaurant dining including 5 restaurants that don't require reservations (Sports bar, Italian, Steakhouse, Sushi & Seafood) and 2 others  [... read more]that do (Gourmet & Japonese).

Grand Bavaro Princess: Wonderful resort

This is our third visit to this amazing resort. The staff and servers are probably among the best on the Island. The grounds are well kept and the beach area is constantly cleaned. The restaurants and the quality of food are excellent. The Platinum service was impeccable as usual and the extra care is noticeable.

Excellence Punta Cana: Excellent Resort

Stunning beach, lovely super clean facilities and staff were outstanding !! Great selection of food and beverages with no difficulty accessing the a la carte restaurants. Would recommend to friends and family.

Ocean El Faro: Great resort!

For a new hotel it’s definitely showing wear already, mostly from poor design. For example, the width of the shower door didn’t account for the depth of the tiles so tiles have been omitted and water is just soaking into the edge creating mold and wear. Whoever thought designing a sink with joints in the sink that need caulk should be fired from designing. Water leaks when sink is filled. The look of the hotel is gorgeous. It has a very midcentury modern design. The waterpark is located in a [... read more] great central location unlike other resorts. Staff were all awesome. Food was great. You could always find something. Never got a reservation at the al la carte’s that required one. App never worked & didn’t want to line up at 7am to reserve outside the buffet. Coffee shop never had anything more than black coffee and smoothies. Only had mint for mojitos the last half of our trip. Route 66 was disappointing-nothing like a typical diner menu. Vacation Club (white shirts upon arrival) were always hounding people. Beach was nice but the lagoon to the west was even better for swimming.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Royalton CHIC Review

This small resort was very nice. The rooms were fairly plain (no bath tub/jacuzzi), but comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. The room cleaning staff did not speak ANY English which was challenging at times. The front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful when needed. The entertainment crew were friendly but not too pushy. Yaritza took great care of us at the bar area, she was very personable and friendly and we looked forward to her excellent service every night! One member  [... read more]of our large group sustained an injury early in our stay. The medical staff were knowledgable and helpful. Alejandro provided restaurant reservations for our large group of 16 each night after this occurred. This was greatly appreciated!

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Beautiful resort but cold food and terrible service is a problem

WE are a well travelled coupled who have been to the DR many times and are well travelled through out the world. We stayed at Palma Real for two weeks with our family. Eight adults and three children. The grounds, common areas, beach, pools, rooms, location are all excellent. You could not want for anything better. I would say well above a 5-star resort. However cold buffet food, bribery vs tipping and poor service are what takes this to a very frustrating experience and makes it very hard to [... read more] recommend to anyone. Food and meals are a very big part of an all-inclusive resort for most people. This resort did not live up to expectations. The buffet is a real issue, everything looks great and there are unbelievable choices but.....unless you get food from the grill which is cooked in front of you all the other food is cold or luke warm. At breakfast cold bacon, sausages, potatoes etc. We did not eat lunch. At dinner all vegetables were cold. Some of the buffet staff are pleasant but others look and act like they hate their job. Specialty restaurants were great if you could get a reservation. Excellent food and service. They were always booked per the reservation clerks. In the two weeks we were there we only could get one reservation through our concierge and that cost $50 up front. Interestingly enough the restaurants were never full and after a few days we discovered with a little or big bribe to the maître d’ , she was always able to get you in almost immediately. Rooms are beautiful but the service is terrible. Sometimes the room would be made up....sometimes not. Sometimes you got the mini bar and water refilled and sometimes not. The same with in room snacks (aero cookies and DR chocolate bars), towels etc. They most common excuse was you had the do not disturb sign on your door knob all day. The other issue with this resort is that there are many levels of accommodation and memberships ranging from basic through Nikte, to Circle to Black Lounge to Privileged and on and on. Most areas are accessible to most guests but there are many areas and restaurants that are only available to the higher-level guests. It makes for a real class distinction. It also makes it very confusing as to where you are permitted to go. Especially in beach areas, lounge areas, pools and restaurants. Our accommodation was next to a Circle only area with a restaurant and bar that had a 100-seat capacity. In the two weeks, we only counted 3 or 4 people using the facility on a few days. Other than that, it was empty with a daily staff of eight just standing there all day. While we in the buffet…….Trying to get a cup of coffee from a server at breakfast was the biggest challenge of the day. My ultimate point is the difference between bribing and tipping. I have no problem in tipping well for good service, but it grinds me the wrong way to have to tip (bribe) before you even get the service. This is a resort that believes in and condones Bribery for its concierge services and access to its specialty restaurants.

Finest Punta Cana: Can’t wait to Return!

This Finest resort is truly earned a part of the EXCELLENCE brand. Our room was spacious and we had a walk-in entree to a heated pool that ran the full Length of 2 buildings. The broad choice ofFood was superb in the Buffet restaurant (where we usually enjoyed Breakfast and Lunch) and in the many Fine specialty Restaurants. We tried 8 different restaurants and never were disappointed. We also enjoyed the lobby bar and the Ice cream / Specialty Coffee / Dessert take-out shop. Occidental Punta Cana: 7.5/10.....

I'll keep it simple and concise... Beach is great, not a rock or shell. Water clear and warm. Never calm but not rough. Just wave off vendors. They keep trying but aren't super pushy. Resort clean and visually appealing. (some minor details in room, but nothing horrible) Pools nice and water temp perfect. Food was good overall. Pizza bar was good feature. A la carts mostly a joke as usual, but it is what it is for the money you pay. Coffee not good as usual in caribbean LOL (get coffee in  [... read more]lobby bar to go... its much better and hot) Staff were pleasant overall but most speak little English. Put time share staff in their place from the beginning and ask them to respect your wish to be left alone, otherwise they will keep trying. Had to complain about one outside vendor who was getting rude and manager made him leave property. Not much entertainment wise when we were there. However...The Circus show was really good. Like a mini Circ de soleil... Overall glad we went there and would recommend.

Riu Palace Macao: The renovated Macao

We have vacationed at the Palace Macao since many years and we had a swim up Elite suite for the first time in November. Fantastic! No more going up elevators and down long hallways, we were only steps away from the beach and all the amenities. We had always enjoyed the Macao, and after the renovations, it is even better than it was before. Our favorite features are the large "palm tree forest" where you can always find a lounger and shade, the huge shared Riu property beach, Scuba Caribe on s [... read more]ite, and the many seating areas available in the "verandah" which runs the width of the hotel. Service is always great, and the resort is always well kept and clean. We will be back for our 7th time!

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Not what it’s cracked up to be

Ok so overall we had a great trip but there where some issues The good Beautiful resort Great breakfast service (if you found the right area) endtito was fantastic Beach service was great thanks Raoul!! Adult only pool was great Buffet was mostly the same but good A carte (if you can get in). Great The bad Most staff didn’t speak any English Had to drag info out of staff on check in (is the room ready? When to come back?) Only mangers to get to 4 Every time you try to get a reso there is none available or after 9pm Concierge was useless (3 of our group had them and they all failed) Too many levels (circle club, reserve, nikite reg). Concierge booked our group with a kid at adults only restaurant Kids in gym Kids in adult only section Overall will never return unless they fix the a carte mess

Occidental Caribe: Unexpected Gem!

We booked here by accident, one word difference...oops! So how did it go? Food - I found the buffet itself to be the best with a variety of foods, hard working staff and a warm friendly hostess (ill call her Flo, first 3 letters of her name). Grounds - were very nice and constantly being taken care of, from painting to grass cutting. Bartenders Juan & Sandy were friendly and knew how to handle the crowd. Overall 8/10, much better experience then a lot of reviews I read. Minor complaints, other entitled travelers and mosquitos only in the theater. Oh, Tony the Air Transat rep on the resort was friendly and informative too. In booking incorrectly and initially trying to swap hotels with air Transat was a joke and not helpful, the hotels made stronger attempts to accommodate but we ended up staying here and were pleasantly surprised. I'd go again. PS we did the monkeyland excursion, it was great, thx Kevin our guide. There was a coffee farm too, with a funny informative gent giving the presentation. Offered reasonably priced alcohol, coffee, cream etc with no hounding, impressed. Until next vacation, don't forget your drinking cups ✌️...
