Our room was lagoon view with balcony requested. Upon check-in I was surprised that although balconies are few our desk man said he could get us into a room with a balcony on the following day. I did not think that would even be an option so I happily agreed for a room switch. Being early my bags were left at the entry of the hotel with the bellman. I was given a resort briefing by a woman whom I thought may be a time share rep but did not get a sales pitch. Possibly because I had checked in ear[... read more]ly and was being joined by a girlfriend arriving on a later flight. We did not get bothered about timeshares except when shopping off the resort.
Our room was very clean, the mattresses in great condition, very clean sheets and great pillows. Flat screen tv, bar fridge, iron and board, ice bucket, shampoo and soaps. Nice amenities and comfortable.
When we were switched to the balcony room on the seventh floor we had robes and slippers as well as extra toiletries in our room. Again very clean and comfortable. The cleaning ladies did a great job.
The buffet was good with lots of options. We would ask for bacon in the morning as it was not usually on the buffet. Never had to wait at all to be seated. The Rosamarinus restaurant by the pool was our favorite spot as it was open to the outside and the ocean was visible. Always good and friendly service.
Marco Polo was the sign up restaurant. We went twice and did not have problems getting a reservation. The waiters in this restaurant did not speak english as well and the food could have used more spice and sauce. I had the cannelloni the second night and it was not very good.
The pool area we enjoyed although sometimes there were no chairs. We would go to the beach and the chairs at the pool would become available in the afternoon. The beach area was not as flat as some resorts. there was a bit of a ledge. We could always find a chair at the beach. Drinks were good and the service fine.
There are a lot of children and babies at this resort which we knew before we left and was not an issue for us.It looks like it is a good resort for families.
There were shows each evening which we never went to. We enjoyed the lounge area where where there was live music. This is the only place I felt they could spruce it up a little with some better lighting.
All in all we had a much needed restful girls visit in a comfortable environment and it is a resort I would return to.

Moon Palace Cancun: Completely recommend!
Moon Palace is an incredible stay at one, play at 3 resort! Blown away by 16 restaurants, and only 2 require reservations! So many pools, once the Grand is complete - Wow - a water park! We loved the many sport activities for the kids, plus a trampoline/bouncy castle, large ball that you get inside and bump each other around...The beach is such fine white sand. And the staff is so friendly and accommodating. The hotel credit is a nice idea too.
The only room for improvement we could suggest,[... read more] is an option to have one-on-one information session of the resort, after day 2 we had things down. It was only after we were leaving that we learned of a hotel app that told you the entertainment schedule.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Will never go back.
Overall the hotel was a complete disappointment. Service, cleanliness, food, rooms, staff ability to speak English was so bad even security wasn't 100% reliable. Being offered drugs two feet onto the beach, and in the resort was a constant. Concierge accessibility was nonexistent. More then one account of money, and other items missing from people's rooms during our stay. Tried emailing my " agent " for confirmations during my stay, responses were intermittent at best.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Don't Stay Here!
This hotel is in a bad need of repairs. We were told that they are putting 100 million dollars into the facility - yes, they were painting but bathroom fixtures were old, mouldy and broken. The construction and painters started their day off early and ended it late. They were on our balconies and it made it very awkward. Walls are paper thin and the security does nothing for loud guests.
We had 4 beach towels for 5 people... no more. We didn't have bath towels for 2 days in our room.
The f[... read more]ood was horrible! Waited in line for 45 minutes minimum.
I could go on, but I think you can get the gist. Don't stay here!

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Amazing resort geared for children
From the kids club to the pools to the movie theater and games room, there is something for everyone. This was my first family vacation with all 4 of my boys (aged 5,7,12,22) We got 2 rooms on the main level in front of the pool with an ocean views. We had originally requested 2 double beds in each room but then upgraded one of the rooms to a king with a semi wall and a triple bunk on the other side. The kids had their own tv and it gave us parents a little separation. When I looked at the p[... read more]ricing through the travel agent it would have cost us much more to upgrade to that room category but only cost $300usd at the hotel. The little ones loved the ocean, kids club, water slides, pools etc. My 12 & 22 year old played water polo and beach volleyball daily and also enjoyed the pools.
The food was great, there was always something to eat no matter what time it was. Even for the kids there was always something. The best waiter by far at the buffet was Pepe, he really took care of us. The best bar tender at the pool was Nieser. The staff was always happy and polite. I was nervous taking this many kids to an all inclusive but was pleasantly surprised and would definitely return. I am a resort snob usually and I found that all of my expectations were met and so were the kids. No-one was ever bored.
We will definitely return.
Enjoy!

Grand Oasis Cancun: Grand Oasis Cancun is a JOKE!!!!!
I've been to plenty of resorts and very, very reasonable.
But for a place like this in unbelievable pathetic and embarrassing.
Other than the people I met on this trip and the beach was good (other than u cannot take the lounger past a rope line and the beach volleyball court has a forest behind w/ roots/branches sticking out of it)
I know travel agents have no say on what goes on at these resorts but if you get these types of complaints~~~Why promote them?
Here is my breakdown :
1) C[... read more]heck-in is F*** SLOW!!!!!!! I arrived at the resort around 9pm and was maybe 8th in line?... It took me an hour to get checked in....One guy working. I saw other workers walking around doing nothing....
Also the guy who checked me in had the smart @$$ remark on when I asked him if there is courtesy shower cause I have a late flight the end of my trip. He says... "Make friends"... Serious????
2) To pay for a room safe lock is sometimes ok (don't know why it's not part of the hotel fees) but to pay $7US a day for a whole week is friggin' robbery!
3) Pay for an up-grade of $25/day (NOT on ROOMS but for specialty dining / drinks) That means people who don't do this is NOT ENTITLED to it AFTER PAYING good money for an all inclusive is a JOKE!!!
4) For people who didn't get these "Black Wristbands" Have to lineup EVERY DAY at 6:00pm to reserve a time.
5) For other restaurants you have there's a waiting list~~~So that means you have to leave your day activities, cleanup, then lineup to get a dinner spot~~~Most likely, it'll be an hour late...Unbelievable!!!
6) If you're S.O.L. on getting in on any of these restos~~~you go to the buffet and you guess it, another long @$$ lineup..Serious???
The food in there MUST be the leftovers from the other specialty restos... To have NO made to order pasta is sad.... Only edible thing I had was spaghetti/meatballs with day old nuggets..Geeeeez
7) Breakfast~~~Isn't that supposed to be the most important meal??
Only good thing was the lovely lady who made the eggs (bless her for feeding me) But to have BACON for only ONE day I was there is embarrassing~~~Even Cuba had bacon EVERYDAY for breakfast.
8) My room was 4410 (wk of Feb12-19, 2017) My door can be easily be opened from the other but giving it a good push (no key card required)
Of course I complained and lo and behold they'll get someone there...an hour later nothing~~~ So I didn't bother cause I've been waiting wait too long.
Meeting new friends and having sunny weather saved a bit for this trip~~~Grand Oasis Cancun is a money grabbing resort that only cares for people who paid $200 EXTRA on top of their vacation.

PS : This rant is a God honest truth, But I'll be really surprised this comes into print or forwarded to the resort....
But Trip Advisor and other hotel reviews will know.

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Very good family resort
Resort was very clean, pools well looked after, a la carte restaurants good. Entertainment somewhat lacking, as it mostly takes place in the lobby bar. Staff overall very accommodating. Beach is great, water has huge waves, consequently red flag days, but always a section with yellow flags.

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Fabulous, Fabulous
Had the most wonderful time, a 10 day stay, weather was perfect. Not party people, we were on the lazy river, a nice quiet relaxing place. The pool bar was always hopping if that is your thing. Grounds were very well kept and very clean. Entertainment was really good, although the 'fat elvis' as we called him, shouldn't try to make small talk between songs, a little awkward. (we saw him twice, sang really well). The only thing was the mini bar guy didn't show up for a few days, don't know why,[... read more] but one complaint and it was back on track... missed my chips.... We felt perfectly safe at this resort. I would return.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Fabulous family vacation
The Crown Paradise Club took care of all our needs from the moment we arrived to the day we left.
Wet were a group of 10 - 6 adults and 4 children. The kids enjoyed all the activities and slides each day.
The food at the buffet and the a la cartes was excellent. Never hungry - especially with unlimited chicken wings for a 4 pm snack.
The resort really caters to children with the special drink menu, water slides, zip lining and the shows being set at 8:30 pm so they were early enou[... read more]gh for the kids to attend too.
Adults were well taken care of with excellent drinks, food and some relax time while the children were being well cared for in the kids club.
All the staff were very accommodating with every request being fulfilled with a smile.
We have travelled to many all inclusive resorts over the past 16 years and would rate this as one of the best. We will definitely be returning.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Mixed emotions
For a first time in Cancún and to compare to other resorts we were a bit disappointed at first. We booked grand oasis for the entertainment and the restaurant options. Although there are 2 buffets the remaining restaurants often had lineups and did not take reservations. You have to wait in line to get your name on the list and then hang around until they call you. Some were quicker than others, but generally if you showed up after 7pm it was a waiting game. This being said the good was excelle[... read more]nt in the restaurants. Buffet is standard for dinner, horrible for breakfast. Again waiting for a buffet and then only have most trays emptied and to be refilled by random dishes.
The room: well we weren't there to spend time in the room right? So decent and clean. But if you get a room with a connecting door, be prepared to hear everything loud and clear.

Seadust Cancun Beach Resort: Great Parnassus Family Resort
Since we are a couple without children, we decided to upgrade to your VIP ocean side suite with access to children free breakfast and children free swimming pool area. We were very impressed with the food in your restaurants, especially Chez Michelle, the French restaurant - their waiter Benjamin was exceptional. Also we recommend Manhattan New York style restaurant.
The beach was perfect and so were the swimming pools.
As far as our tour package provider (trip central) was concerned, Gina w[... read more]as extremely helpful and the entire package with airport transfers and the overall service by the airline (we had paid extra for elite plus seating) everything was perfect.
Therefore I can recommend this hotel and trip central without reservations.

Emporio Cancun: Great value, chill atmosphere
Great value for families looking for a resort that has spacious rooms (separate master bedroom linked to a kitchenette and living room with Murphy beds) and an impressive and well maintained beach. Staff were friendly and the kids club was a hit with our girls (ages 5 and 7). Pools were also clean and plenty of swimming options, including a pirate ship kids pool that kept ours entertained for hours on end.
While the breakfast options got a little old by the end of the week, food was general[... read more]ly quite good with some standout seafood dinners that set the bar high. Separate Italian restaurant on site had excellent food, although we experienced rather slow service on the evening we dined there.
Overall, we were very happy with our experience at Emporio and would definitely consider returning. Note for those who seek on site nightly entertainment, there is none offered at this resort at this time (other than the bar!). This was not at all an issue for us (we were at the room with our kids), but may be for others. Also, the room decor is definitely dated but this did not bother us and we found ours to be quite clean.

Maya Caribe Cancun: This Resort had everything we wanted!!
Our stay at the Maya Caribe Cancun was absolutely amazing! Exactly what we needed. Beautiful beaches, good food at the buffets, fun entertainment, friendly people who are always ready to get you what you need and with a smile.
Our experiences at the a la carte restaurants were awesome. Food was delicious and service was great!
The resort is big, which made for a lot of walking, but good to burn off the food!
There was never any need to worry about getting a chair at the beach or the pool. Al[... read more]ways plenty available, which is a first experience for me and made life stress free!
Only criticism I have is that the towel exchange could be located closer to the pool area, or have more than just the one location, and that there could be more bars available on the beach. Sometimes there were long line ups at the swim up bar which made getting a drink take a while. The rooms are a little dated but kept clean.
All in all, it was a fabulous location and would definitely recommend it.
Thank you to everyone at the Caribe who made our stay so relaxing and enjoyable!

NYX Hotel Cancun: Excellent
If you don't like your room ask and they will move you with no problems. The food is awesome at this resort. The beach is beautiful. There was a red flag on the beach everyday, but you were still able to swim. The lifeguards really do watch! The staff is kind and can not do enough for you. The only issue we had was the transport to the hotel. We had to wait over an hour the service was disorganized!

Grand Oasis Palm: Ok resort but Cancun is AWESOME!
Elevators are the worst so tiny and u can wait a long time during busy hours. Beach was beautiful stayed on it almost all week. Pool doesnt get much sun at all so never swam in it. Food was ok was expecting better. Wifi is 30 USD for 5 days but signal comes in and out. Night entertainment was not the best found myself bored and in bed by 8 or 9pm every night. Dont buy what they call "silver jewelry" on the beach as its not silver and broke in the 1st hour. Dolphin excursion was the best day of m[... read more]y trip soo worth the money and it is like a 2 min walk to the doc for the boat. Rooms had nice views and were clean. Nice cleaning lady! Grand Oasis Cancun: Less than we expected
Before booking this hotel you should be aware of a few things:
1. You get what you pay for. This place was a little cheaper than some others and we got what we paid for. The rooms were ok but not great, the place was clean enough and in good enough repair but I would give it 2.5 to 3 stars. Not the 3.5 advertised. Never enough towels, toilet ran if you didn't fiddle inside, took 15 minutes (yes 15) to get warm water in the shower and several more first world problems.
2. The place advertised
[... read more]several restaurants. This is a very big resort. 1,400+ rooms. For simplicity of operation they have several on one side that are duplicated (under a different name) on the other side. All of which were very pedestrian. A hamburger stand by the pool, a taco stand, a coffee bar, a hamburger restaurant, etc. all count as 'restaurants'. As you start to eliminate these your options diminish quickly. There is one "steak house" and I use that term generously. You must make a reservation and there are limited sittings (which keeps their costs down). They have several types of meat cooking on large spits continuously and you put veggies on your plate (buffet style) and then they come around every few minutes with a different type of meat (pork, beef, turkey, filet minion that tasted the same as all the other meat). All over cooked and you never knew what's coming next so can't plan for it. Very disappointing.
3. They do have several "levels" of service you can pay extra for and as a result you need to wear an annoying wrist band the entire time. The "better" bars and restaurants are accessible to those that paid "extra". We did not. Again. We got what we paid for.
4. I'm not a big drinker but unless you like wading into the pool for your drinks at the Wet Bar, the rest of the bars are actually very inconveniently positioned which results in a long walk to grab a drink. Very few of the bars had rye-whisky-bourbon, and served Scotch instead. Several bars would only make mixed drinks (strawberry daiquiri or piña colada etc) when it worked for them. ie: ran out of mix; the bar just closed; the bar closed for dinner hour; the bar is only for the restaurant.... and finally, I'm absolutely sure the booze is VERY watered down. My wife, a light-weigh drinker by all accounts had 6 piña coladas one afternoon with not even a "buzz" and then, another day, one marguerita "off resort" that wasted her.... you do the math.
5. This is a PARTY resort. Not recommended if you have little kids or are seeking a relaxing getaway. We were woken up every Night 4-5 times between midnight and 5am with people screaming and partying hard in our building, and we supposedly had the quiet building of the 5 in the complex. We were there jan28-feb4, 2017. Not spring break but it certainly felt like it. I'm sure many want this atmosphere but we weren't expecting it.
6. They did have free entertainment in the main building every night from 7-8/830 and that was good. We did use their massage services and although an extra cost they were good. They also have several clubs that really only get going after 10pm. We weren't there for that so I can't offer feedback on them.
They do have a nice beach. Nice sand on the beach and in the water. Red flag was out the entire week due to rough water at this time of year. Big waves but the ocean was reasonably warm once you acclimatize. We left the hotel pool to the kids and drunks. We had plenty of time in the water off resort snorkelling.
7. We did several 'off resort excursions' but I booked those on-line myself before we arrived. They will book that stuff for you if you want to leave it until you get there.
8. Bring Pecos as it will cost you to exchange at hotel or in town.
They were at 18.9 pecos to 1 USD while exchange rate was at 21:1although you bank will charge a fee as well. Obviously this will change.
So in summary - My rating:
Food: 1.5 out of 5
Room/Bldg: 2.0 out of 5
Staff: 2.5 out of 5
Atmosphere 1.5 out of 5
Bars: 1.0 out of 5
Beach: 4 out of 5
Pools: 3 out of 5
Location: 4 out of 5
Extra services: 3 out of 5
Entertainment: 3.5 out of 5
