Roc Barlovento: Made the best of it

A little run down. Always an issue with the pool. Fountain broke down. Then the main pump broke. The other pool the jets in the sitting pool never worked. Service was hit and miss. Rooms ok, cleaned half the time. Beach was good, but no control on the Roc plus area. No advantages to the Roc plus. And beach a bit messy in general. Cups and cigarette butts. All the staff was hit and miss. But a couple really amazing ones that we enjoyed. We made the best of it and had a very good time.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Paradise

My daughter and I spent the first week of May at this resort. We stayed in the Granma building which was very close to everything so no unnecessary long walks anywhere which we prefer. The room was clean and such comfortable beds. Air conditioning worked very well. Looked forward to the wonderful creations that the maid did everyday with our towels and blankets. The resort itself is beautiful and on the smaller side so everything is nice and close. Lots of entertainment throughout the day and every evening, always plenty of seating. The Buffett has plenty of fresh food everyday but be warned there is not much variety so you will need to be creative if this isn’t to your liking. There is a snack bar behind the pool that serves French fries and sandwiches throughout the day. The flies were really bad at the Buffett, the staff did what they could to control them. The beach was amazing, beautiful! Tons of shade to hangout all day. Tropical fish will swim around you while you swim. You can walk quite the distance in either direction. Tips should be given in paper money, not coin. Coin is useless for them. But even better take some extra bars of soap or toothpaste to give out instead. They lack basic essentials. If you google it there is a good list of things they need. Also don’t forget the gardeners. We love this resort and will be returning often.

Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: Be Live Las Morlas Hotel

Las Morlas was just the hotel for me. It is small with only three floors I think. It is not intimidating for me like those massive hotels with rooms and rooms and rooms. There is a long winding pool through most of the grounds with a pool bar. There are two main restaurants - one close to the lobby and the other one close to the beach. I felt comfortable talking to any member of staff and they always were very helpful and friendly. The beach is out of this world with light, medium and dark blue colours. It is said to be the best beach in Cuba. I have to warn you though, if you're a swimmer like me, you have to work quite a ways out to get to the deep part. Every single night there's something to do in that the disco is always on. Being a lady with mucho años, I considered the disco way in my past, so did not participate. But at least for a couple nights a week, there is something special like a Dance Show, Live Singing, Music by a Cuban band.

Grand Memories Varadero: Not impressed

This will be our 5th trip to Cuba. We have travelled many different times and in different months. Being slow season I would expect it would be bad but this was extreme. Only one buffet open and only one al cart open per night. We have travelled at the same time before. And the full resort was open. For a highly rated resort and a top pick not impressed. Will probably be our last trip to Cuba.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Amazing resort

The hotel is great ,staff are very friendly , very good food , rooms are clean and an exceptional, beautiful beach Can’t ask for more Thus was the third time to visit this resort and definitely I will be back

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing Resort!

Magnificent, beautiful buildings, lobby, interior and exterior, friendly people, nice service, 24 hrs WiFi. Beach is the best, fine sand, friendly bar staff, very friendly staff at restaurant. Entertainment professional, young girls and boys are dancing great.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great hotel

Staff are very friendly, large hotel with many areas to eat, order a drink, relax and rarely felt overcrowded. A bus outside the hotel brings you to downtown Varadero where there's lots to do and a great nightlife with a mix of locals and tourists. Extremely safe to walk around Varadero and there's a fantastic public beach there as well. Highly recommend.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Another Amazing Stay

I lost count of how many times I have visited Paradisus Rio de Rio, but each time I am there, I have the best of stay. Everything about the resort is PERFECT!!! People: The people at the resort are the warmest, kind and hospitable I have met. Food: The tastiest food ever! To me, the food is worthy of a Michelin Star! I’m missing the beans & rice already! Beach: it’s just perfect! I missed the daily golden sunset ! Spa: Heavenly!!! I will be back very soon!!!

Melia Internacional: Amazing resort

Amenities, food and services were top of the line. I would go again. Clean and suitable for families with young kids as well as individuals. Customer service was responding in a timely manner and respectful

Paradisus Varadero: Paradise!!

A beautiful beach surrounded by palm trees that ensure shady spots for anyone that wants them, there are plenty of lounge chairs as well. Grounds are a bit large, about a 5min walk from reserve to main beach, but there is always a cart with a friendly staff member willing to take you anywhere. Decent food and a good variety, and always something to drink. Wonderful friendly staff that help make your trip perfect

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Fantastic vacation

Our visit at the Iberostar Coral was fabulous. The staff are amazing cater to your every need when possible. Rooms are spacious clean and always towels changed twice a day as needed. Pools are amazing. It is however a very quiet area for sure which we loved. Food well no one goes to Cuba for the food however we certainly didn’t go without always lots to eat and a great selection. Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Very good Resort

The grounds are very big, the beach was great. Snorkeling was good, very colorful fish. The food is very bland, don't go to Cuba for the food. We ran out of eggs for a few days. The rooms were spacious. The people were very friendly.

Very nice and clean room only problem the shower area no door water leak outside the stand shower. but all the resort was very nice .the staff so friendly and helpful the beach amazing the pool so clean I want to go again with my family.

Playa Pesquero: playa Pesquero premium

just back from 10 days, and again wonderful, no cristyal beer but had ciesesci, just as good, staff bent over backwards had a cake and party for me, all wished me a happy birthday, was a very touching moment, nothing you get from any other resort.We really love the cuban people and all they do to make our trip wonderful, so good my brother is going back in june, enough said"

Hotel Playa Coco: Great Vacation!

Playa Coco is a beautiful, small, well maintained resort. I had a spectacular ocean view! My room was just steps from the ocean and the pool. The beach is gorgeous with soft beige sand and the pool is large and super clean. There is also a quiet pool with no music if you just want to relax. The buffet was always fresh with local fruits and vegetables. They served fresh omelets or crepes for breakfast and chicken, pork, beef and fish for lunch and supper. Rooms are dated but cleaned everyday. I always had hot water with great pressure except for 1 evening in a 14 day stay. The only thing I would have liked to see is some traditional Cuban band in the lobby for nightly entertainment otherwise it was a great vacation!????

Valentin Perla Blanca: Terrible experience - not a Cuban 5 Star!

I have been to Cuba several times over the past 10 years and this will be my last visit! I understand that over the years, with the Pandemic and several natural disasters, Cuba has been impacted by supply chain issues and lack of availability of food resources, so my expectations have always been managed. What I did not expect, was the lack of care, and poor customer service (that has never been my experience in the past). Half the resort was abandoned, with only 1 pool open, several of the [... read more] units without railings (on higher floors) and other cafe's and amenities closed with no notice posted or any email going out to advise about these closures. The customer service at Valentin Perla Blanca was awful! from not providing basic hygiene throughout the resort (including our rooms - we slept with sand in our bed, no clean towels, and NO TOILET PAPER FOR DAYS). The common areas had broken glass in the lobby bar area for 2 days straight, and the glass stair railing was broken and not taped off for safety. Let's talk food services: The buffet restaurant had the same menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with eggs not available for half our trip. I understand there are shortages, but the resort was only at 20% capacity and the neighboring resorts that we visited had more food options than this one. The buffet staff would hold back food from the guests then proceed to take that same food out for themselves near the end of service (eg. bacon was not provided to guests for breakfast, but we later saw the employees helping themselves). The staff would start eating while guests were dining, and delay service because they were counting tips. The a la carte was 1 per day, with 3 themes rotating for three days. The food was mis-labeled which can create a problem with those with allergies and/ or intolerances. This was the case in both the buffet and the menu at every a la carte. Entertainment: There was none! period! The staff in-charge of entertainment sat around and did not provide any entertainment at the pool, at the beach or in the evening with the exception of the occasional dj that played the same loop off his laptop. No sports available during the day (volleyball, etc) and nothing on the daily schedule was actually available, EVER, with no reason provided as to why there was no entertainment throughout the day. The entertainers would just walk around asking guests to leave them toiletries and medications as their are shortages. Rooms: Phone not working throughout our trip (we requested a fix 3 different times and nothing was done), no water in the room for a few days (we had to purchase the water at the small gift shop to brush our teeth), our door would not lock for an entire day (it took them 8 hours to fix it), our sink kept leaking as it was not attached to actual plumbing and the water ran into a hole in the floor. The room also did not have many of the items listed on the TripCentral ad such as tea and coffee makers, etc in the room. Beverages: Only rum, beer and white wine was available. We had visited the One Gallary and Paradesis (right next door to us) and they had more variety of alcoholic drinks, including vodka, red , rose and white wine, and other malts and spirits. It was evident that this resort was staffed with employees that chose not to make available the food, and amenities that were supposed to be available to paying guests. Managers and Customer service reps were not helpful in resolving any off the issues and were very difficult to reason with. We did not get anywhere near what we paid for and all the false advertising not only makes me not want to ever book this resort, but also lose faith in Trip Central for their accuracy in what they advertise. Never again! Good bye Cuba!

Playa Vista Azul: Beautiful resort’

We stayed for a week and it was beautiful! never upgraded and never lost out on anything. pools are great, food is great! (if your not picking) freshly made pasta everyday! overall best resort in cuba!!

Sol Cayo Coco: Terrific two weeks

Enjoyed our vacation immensely. Found our room spotless each and every day. Food was also terrific. Staff was always most helpful with a huge smile. But the best part was the beach and weather. Both were absolutely perfect. But I do have a few concerns which I’m hoping will find their way into the hands of the resort owners. PLease take a close look at your hard working upfront staff and I really do mean hard working. If you want your resort to stand out snd be celebrated take better care of your front line workers. Tourists notice snd question the ethics of their employers. Appreciate theses hard working people. Finally we loved your beach at Sol but you need well maintained garbage containers badly.
