Jolly Beach Antigua: Good value. Has everything you need.

We had a superior king room with 2 balconies which we loved. Although the hotel is older, it is clean and has everything you need. The staff are amazing, very friendly and the beach is gorgeous. If you like long walks on the beach, Jolly Beach is perfect. We enjoyed the food at the a la cartes we visited (Mexican and Italian). We have no complaints.

St James Club and Villas: Unique resort

That resort was spacious and never felt crowded even though we understood the adults only section where we spent a week was fully booked. If we wanted sun or shade or a quiet drink ther was always a wide choice open to us - a major plus Two other pluses, no or very muted music to distract us and the only resort we have ever been in where no tipping actually meant no tipping. The food was very good and well presented

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Beautiful Grounds Slow Service

Rooms are fine probably because they are less than a year old. Service is slow, restaurants were average at best, entertainment was barely adequate, beach is above average. Make sure you take towels the night before to be safe. Inform yourself about Diamond Club before you go.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Very disappointed with Starfish Jolly beach resort

Very old resort, not well maintained, beds were very uncomfortable and pipes in the bathroom as well as the shower leaked and we had to put towels down so we wouldn't fall on the tile floors. this is just a few of the issues with this resort. We had asked for second floor room, and ended up on the third floor and had to cart our luggage up and down 6 flights of stairs. Also had to pay for room safe key at $3u.s. per day and no wifi in rooms unless you paid $10us per day. I have sent a list of [... read more] issues to my rep at trip central. Many guests were unhappy with this resort. The flight with Sunwing was good and we have no complaints about the airlines other than this resort should be taken off their list. The only thing going for this resort was the beautiful beach, and the staff except for the main lobby were great.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Favourite beach and staff!

Love the beach, fabulous sand, beautiful water. Great grounds, easily walkable and not too spread out. Entertainment staff phenomenal from Judith singing the morning song to Super Dave and Crazy Sean aqua aerobics. So friendly. Cleaning staff keeps rooms very clean and tidy 😁

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Amazing island!

Resort was older but nice, grounds were well taken care of, food was good. Tour guides were amazing! Off resort experience was great as the taxi drivers and locals were very happy to assist with directions and suggestions for good food etc. Great place to relax on quiet Dickensons bay. The negative was lack of enthusiasm of the staff members. Approximately 1 out of 7 were friendly and the others barely acknowledged our presence. Tipping did not improve the service. We had to chase down bath tow [... read more]els, the sheets were not changed our entire stay, room cups were rinsed and wiped out with dirty rag, right in front of our eyes, floor not swept and by the time we left we could have built a tiny sand castle in the room. Hammock Cove Resort and Spa: Beautiful resort

I can honestly say that this resort wins hands down! Every little detail is thought of! When we first arrived , ushered to the bar for drinks to unwind from the travelling , great snacks and then whisked away to our equally beautiful villa!! All the staff are amazing but special mention to our Ambassador Maxwell ! He was at our beck and call the entire vacation. Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Beautiful beach.. service needs some work

Beautiful beach and pool area. Rooms were do so. Food was fine but nothing special except for the pastries in the coffee shop. They were great. Just found service levels to be a little lacking by some. No real spark to take pride in their work. Should have an adult's only section ad far too many crying kids on the beach. We would go back if had adults only.

St James Club and Villas: Everything exceeded our expectations!

When we booked our trip, Nicole Kirk asked us what we were hoping and looking for in our trip. We were not disappointed, the whole experience was amazing! The resort was beautiful, and the location of our room so close to the beach was incredible. We looked forward to each meal, the food was fantastic! We felt very safe and relaxed the whole time. We would definitely recommend this resort to others !

Jolly Beach Antigua: Great time

Yes it a 3 star hotel but you can't beat the beach and the food was good and the staff all 5 star ...best time my wife and myself had better then cuba and Dominican Republic will be back as soon as i can miss it already..mike and karen ..🎶🎵👍

Pineapple Beach Club: Great spot!

Beach, grounds, hotel all great. Staff amazing! Some rooms a little dated. Clean rooms, beach,grounds and restaurants. Pineapple grill the best. Buffet was ok. Adult only is the way to go. Weather 27 and sunny every day. We will be back.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Disappointed

Very old resort not very well kept. Been to other resorts someone always doing gardens etc no one garbage that was on ground when arrived was still there when left. Coffee and beverage in morning not available till 7 am they said it was but if there was no condiments.Didn’t seem to care only one option for lunch dinner at 7pm. Galley Bay Resort and Spa: First Time in Antigua

We visited Galley Bay as a married couple, celebrating our 15 year wedding anniversary and a 40th Birthday. We booked a Premium beachfront Suite. Arrival: We were greeted with a cool towel and offered our choice of beverage, we both enjoyed a rum punch. We were checked in quickly and efficiently and brought to our suite by golf cart. The washroom was amazin [... read more]g, double sinks, double showers (loved this feature!!), soaking tub for two, toilet and bidet. The suite also had a stocked mini fridge, beer pop and you are provided refillable plastic water bottles. The room was cleaned daily with evening turn down service. 10/10 The grounds: beautiful flowers everywhere, clean. I saw many local birds and hummingbirds, and we enjoyed the turtle sanctuary. The resort is the perfect size so you can spread out and even when fully occupied it does not feel crowded. The beach was lovely; though we did experience many red flag days (rough water). The last half of our week were green flags and .... this turned the beach to just WOW. We are beach people so only sat at the pool briefly to enjoy a beverage, did not swim. Pool is small but beautifully presented with a lovely water feature and the chairs are spread out with call buttons. 10/10 Food: There are 2 restaurants, Sea Grape and Gauguin. The food was notably the most enjoyable we have experienced to date (traveling history - mostly Caribbean all inclusive - Jamaica, St Lucia Costa Rica, Curacao, Dominican, Cuba). At Galley Bay, All your meals are cooked to order which we enjoyed tremendously, except one evening in the Sea Grape was buffet style BBQ night. My hubby often wanted a double serving of meat with his entree and received with no issue whatsoever. We had no issue booking the Gauguin for evening meals. We did not try Ismays as it is an up charge and quite frankly again, we enjoyed our meals extensively at the restaurants included. There is also a Beach Grill that serves lighter fair for lunch, also rated very, very highly from us. 10/10 Drinks: we enjoyed the daily cocktail of the day and many others morning noon and night. All premium varieties we personally enjoy were available (IE Grey Goose). The only thing I didn't enjoy were the compostable straws... simple fix and suggest - bring your own reusable straws! We also brought our Yeti cups which were filled with pleasure. 10/10 Entertainment: We are not big into the night scene, but there were some couples that danced to the live entertainment that played nightly. Overall I would say it was a majority of older couples (50/60+). I believe the minimum age to check in is 14 and we saw only maybe 2 people all week that appeared under 30. If a lively night life and entertainment is your thing, I would have to say you would have to go offsite to find it. We were up late only once or twice, and the bar shut down at 12 with no warning of last call or anything to that effect so be warned. Service/staff: amazing. What more can I say. Everyone was welcoming and attentive; I never waited long to be served. It is noted that tips are included in your welcome briefing and I never once felt that I needed to get my wallet out. A special bottle and cheese plate was delivered to our room as a surprise for my 40th and our wedding anniversary, a lovely touch! 10/10 This resort is the perfect setting for special occasions of any kind. It is intimate and romantic, if this isn't near perfect I'm not sure what is. Thank you Galley Bay, we hope one day we will see you again.

Definition of Halcyon: denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful. Starfish Halcyon was truly a happy and peaceful location for our most recent 1 week February vacation. If you are a person that is grateful when your basic needs are met (food, shelter, love/care) and can splurge once in a while to take a tropical vacation, this is the place to be. - Food - excellent with lots of variety and fresh. - Shelter - clean suites, comfortable beds and pillows, wo [... read more]rking air conditioning, basic working bathrooms, and the opportunity to upgrade rooms if you wish - Love/care - the staff are friendly and will go above and beyond for you if you treat them with the respect you would appreciate in return - The location is exquisite. The water clean and clear; the sand white and soft; the resort surrounded by hills and breezes with birds singing day and night. - The other guests - we met so many wonderful people. I think it's safe to say that the people that book a trip to the Starfish Halcyon are discerning and are those that vacation within reasonable budgets. We met "salt of the earth" people and struck many wonderful relationships. *This place is not for you if you need all the bells and whistles and the latest and greatest. It is not for divas or those who are difficult to please. It is not for the self important. So - please - those people should stay away and let the rest of us enjoy this place that is such a treasure.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Great Beach!

We knew when booking this resort that it was older but thought that it would have been maintained better. We had no hot water for the 1st 24 hours of our stay. We finally got a bit after asking for the 3rd time & the maintenance guy played with the taps. But the hot water pressure left a lot to be desired. We had to ask for facecloths. The resort seemed to be short-staffed. There were 2 bars but only 1 was open during the day and it was located on the far side of the resort next to the beach.  [... read more] If you wanted a drink of pop early in the day, you had to walk to the beachside bar. One of our group asked the bartender if he could have a pop at 5:50pm & was told that the lobby bar didn't open until 6pm. There wasn't coffee available in the lobby at any time. Again if you wanted coffee you had to walk to the beachside bar, but after they closed, there wasn't anything but coffee. No sugar, creamer/milk or sugar substitute. On the plus side, the food was delicious, the pool was wonderful and the beach was fantastic. Lunches could have had a few more choices but overall there was always burgers or dogs. The pool was never crowded. The beach had lots of room to sunbathe, play on or roam. With the sand being soft, white & clean.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Loved Starfish Jolly Beach!

My best friend and I stayed at Starfish Jolly Beach for our first time Feb 12-19, 2020. Rooms are a solid 3 star- dated and small but always clean. Our first standard room in Dominica building had 2 single beds but had newer mattresses and we're very comfy. Unfortunately hot water and water pressure were lacking causing us to finally get a room change on Saturday. We then moved to 3rd floor in the Antigua building... One king bed-old mattress, kind of hard on the back but had lots of hot water.  [... read more]We found it was best to not shower when the neighbour was showering as that's when hot water and pressure seemed to be lacking most. Corgen who I assume is a manager was fantastic to deal with regarding our room issues/changes. The rest of the resort staff were fantastic and the beach was incredible! Definitely a 5 star beach!! Lots of vendors on the beach selling excursions but a 'no thank you' was usually sufficient if you weren't interested. Food was good. Buffet didn't have a huge selection but food was good. The pool grill was really good everyday for lunch. That coleslaw!! We didn't go to all of the evening entertainment but did attend most. Entertainment staff did a wonderful job! Unfortunately we had rain half of our trip so we didn't get many days to fully enjoy the beach and water sports but would most definitely return to SJB!

Ocean Point Resort and Spa: Great vacation

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Good But...

Good relaxing vacation overall. Antigua airport is modern and efficient, lush greenery but not alot of flowers and locals are aloof but mostly polite (not gregarious like some islands). Weather was perfect and the sun is INTENSE! The resort has an odd long skinny layout but the footprint is compact and very walkable. The beach was lovely, a small crescent about 10 minutes walking end-to-end with soft golden sand, clear calm turquoise water and lots of fish. The room was comfortable and clean b [... read more]ut not oversized and soundproofing could be better. No bathtub. Upgrading to the bay/water view was worth it to people watch from the balcony. Food was consistently good (not great) but fruit was disappointing and I missed not having a teppanyaki a la carte. BUT even though I enjoyed my stay, I wouldn’t go back because public washrooms in the beach and restaurant areas were broken and out of service every day in one or multiple areas. Simply unacceptable for what’s advertised as a 5-star resort (but really 4).

The beach is incredible. The staff are amazing and fun. All very engaging. They are what makes the resort. Great location. Lots to do. The sunsets are unbelievable. If it does rain, the most magical rainbows.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Great Time

This was a great trip. Although the resort itself is outdated and there is no wifi in the room, one couldn't ask for a better beach, entertainment, and atmosphere. Staff went above and beyond. Food was good. The food at the Grill was great.The age group is overall 50 plus for guests with some younger crowd. I am 40. I would come back for the beach alone.
