Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton: Great Place - Some Issues

Hello. Just returned from Planet Hollywood Cancun. Overall an excellent hotel but has a few things that need corrected. Italian, steak house and Sushi very good. Mexican was ok and Tapanaki was poor at best. Glass around table makes it impossible to hear cook so event is lack luster. We were to get 4 separate courses and only got two. We were rushed and they forgot dessert and appetizers. As something that people look forward to and hard to get they need to fix this meal. Our maid forge [... read more]t to replenish towels and remove used dishes. Dirty dishes were stored in stairwell for days. Overall place is clean, well organized, event staff are great. Beach is cleaned daily of seaweed so beach is useful. Would return. No bugs. Daily visit from iguanas were interesting. They are friendly.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Easily among our top 3 resorts

Loved everything about this place. The food was incredible, the staff were friendly and hard working, and we were happy with our room (we upgraded to an ocean view). Several pools to choose from, and we enjoyed the numerous activities for adults and kids. Loved the policy of "anything on the lounge chairs before 9 am will be removed", which prevented people from reserving chairs. There was never a shortage of chairs, and lots of locations to choose from. The coffee bar was a nice bonus, and the [... read more]re were several places along the edge of the property that you could sit quietly in the shade and enjoy it. The entertainment was great, all through the day and night ... and I don't say that very often !! It was easy-listening, and not outrageously loud by the pool. The peaceful live evening entertainment was moved to the lobby bar, or rooftop bar, ...or to the basement if it was going to be loud, and possibly an irritant to the guests. Perfect!

Barcelo Maya Palace: We know this resort for many years.

Good value/price/service resort. Definitely we recommend to stay in it! Especially with Trip Central ! Good choice of a-la-cart restaurants! Nice territory of the resort. Free Wi-Fi in rooms and most of the places of the resort.

Sunscape Dorado Pacifico: Mediocure

The resort is small, not a lot to do. The food is mediocure at best. Rooms with an ocean view are treated to the very loud and long shows or weddings until midnight. Lots of locals which the hotel caters too. There is no adult pool area. The staff is very nice rooms and public areas are kept very clean, we will not be back to this resort.

Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel: Incredible Vacation

This was a great resort, it was a quiet Zen like setting. We had a wonderful time. Best Food at any resort I’ve been too For me the highlight was the Staff, kind caring very attentive! We loved the walks to the beach and restaurants, although there carts to take you back and forth if needed. Our room was large and very comfortable!

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Great resort

This is one of the best resorts we have been to regarding food and service. We opted for the Privilege upgrade which allowed us a-la-carte meals for all breakfasts, lunches (at BLoved restaurant) and dinners, and a room near the beach/pool/a-la-carte restaurants. I would definitely recommend this option. The wait service at BLoved is first class! The beach is excellent. Nice soft sand and plenty of shade under the palm trees. No problem getting a lounger. Unfortunately, we were unable t [... read more]o swim in the ocean during the middle six days of our 10-day visit due to an early infestation of sargassum. The resort did their best to remove the seaweed (working all day removing dump trucks full of the stuff) but they have no control over Mother Nature. This resulted in the pool area being pretty busy but we were still able to get a lounger. We had breakfast at the buffet (which is beside the main lobby) a few times and found the food to be quite good there too. The resort is (essentially) located in the jungle which they have done a good job of preserving. Lots of wildlife such as coatis (which "own" the place), spider monkeys, etc. The animals don't bother you but don't leave any food in an unattended beach/pool bag or the coatis will help themselves. We didn't attend any shows, so I can't comment on that. The tennis/pickle ball facility looked great, but I wasn't able to "hook up" with any players. It would be nice if the resort offered a "partner find" list. Overall, a very nice resort which we would certainly return to.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Boys golf getaway

The iberostar hotel complex is extremely large and offers a variety of dining options, activities, and leisure. The golf course is well groomed and challenging. The shotgun start is ideal for everyone to play in the morning. The hotel rooms were large, clean with portions remodeled. Specialty restaurants, lack some authenticity in the food that they prepared. Overall, the iberostar is definitely a destination choice.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Great rooms

Favourite part of the stay was the rooms, they are all situated so there is nobody directly above or below you. Keeps privacy high and the noise low. It's very spread out that way, so expect a lot of walking or taking the shuttle carts to where you want to go. Hautulco is very hot, several degrees hotter than Cancun or Puerto Vallarta for example. Beaches were nice, but sand is very course, so you will sink into your ankles when you step into the water. Not much for waves, it was pretty cal [... read more]m. Pools are nice, and had plenty of available chairs, mind you it wasn't high season when we went. I'd say the resort is about 90% local Mexicans, 8% Canadians, and 2% other nationalities. Food was decent, nothing spectacular, although the roast beef served for dinner in the buffet was really good. You won't starve! Drinks were good, and service was very good, and friendly. Try and tip if you can, since I noticed the locals weren't much for tipping, so I tried to make up the difference a little. Back to the rooms, I appreciated that the bathroom and shower area had an actual door, unlike some where it was wide open to the rest of the room. I didn't really get around to seeing the entertainment or shows, as the app didn't really describe very well what they were. The sheer heat kept me from trying tennis or other physical activities. I think one of the days it got to 36c and that was without adding the humidity factor. Takes some getting used to! Taxi to town is cheap, only 100 pesos, but be careful, they will drop you off if you don't ask otherwise at some of their "friends" tourist trap shop. Get used to saying "no thanks". Very expensive shops, I'd just buy at the boutique in the hotel to be honest, it's similarly priced without the extra step into town. All in all, a good stay.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: An economical resort that is nice, but could do some improvements

Workers are fantastic. The hotel is an older style. Improvements have been made over the years, but there could be much more done. A list of suggestions . . . ROOM [ ] No plug in sink [ ] Smell from sink, no P trap [ ] Need to ask face cloth daily [ ] Light need fixing, stand up and bed side light [ ] CNN channel drops on the TV on occasion [ ] Patio door doesn't roll closed properly [ ] Room door has to be pulled to close [ ] Closet door hits the front door hinge RESO [... read more]RT [ ] Bird issue, cover food with plastic Covers, give waitress laser lights. Close in eating area with netting or blinds [ ] Cook the beef more in a la carts [ ] Beef is tough and grissly most of the time [ ] Disco noise is too loud for sleeping [ ] Coffee maker in room would be nice [ ] More palapas and umbrellas so less saving chairs. Many want shade. [ ] Get a la cart reservations fixed on line [ ] 7.30 a.m. bug guy sprayer is so loud [ ] Buy electric mowers, trimmers. Gas is noisy and smelly [ ] Get pads or better seating for nightly show. The cement is hard to sit on [ ] Upgrade food in restaurants [ ] Put more salt or seasoning in food. [ ] Many desserts have no flavour

Royal Solaris Cancun: Great Resort!

You can actually get a lounge chair until 11am or later. Food is great too! With a few exceptions of course since the coffee is awful except at the coffee bar. Beef and pork tend to be tough so I had chicken and fish. Nightly shows are terrific with 9-13 pro dancers and a huge screen with theme scenes playing behind. Desserts are delicious! Waiters serve you in the pool area, just tip them and they keep coming back. Only 299 rooms. Literally located right on the beach. Very relaxing holiday!

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: nice location small resort

been 4 times now don't think I will return older clientele; staff was great rooms fine right on the beach, which is the kicker, food not as good, fresh sushi for lunch every day , lots of seaweed on the beach which didn't bother me, excellent snorkeling, unpleasant sewage smells all week and there was a strong breeze can't image the stench if no wind?

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Very nice resort

It truly is a beautiful resort... with wonderful landscaping and blooming flowers everywhere and adjacent to a golf course. I can see why so many events and weddings are held there (I think there were 4 that happened in the 7 days we were there). The staff are also absolutely fantastic. The only thing we didn't care for was the main pool music was quite loud and they seemed to play a lot of old 70's 80's music (and not the good stuff) for some reason... so definitely not the typical music yo [... read more]u get at resorts in Mexico. As such since we were lucky enough to have been upgraded to the Preferred Club, we spent most of our time at the smaller preferred pool where it was very quiet. If we didn't have this option, we would likely have just hung out at the west end of the main pool (opposite end from the swim-up bar) where it was quieter. Note: there are no chairs on the beach and even beach access is restricted due to the huge waves, so sitting down there isn't an option at this resort.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Perfecto

Let me start by saying this was my 5 th trip to Akumal bay resort It gets better each time The best resort layout as it is right on the beach The staff some new some have been the for years are the absolute best anywhere Thanks Marco the bartender on the beach building 4 Very pleasant young man who is going places Also front desk staff were super helpful with our requests There will definitely be a 6 th visit No need to look or go anywhere else Thanks The two jimmys

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Relaxing!

The hotel is a bit dated but is apparently undergoing a substantial renovation this summer. The king bed was amazingly comfortable! The staff were always friendly and knowledgeable. The food in the buffet was well presented and had a good variety for all sorts of tastes and dietary needs. It was very difficult to get a lounge chair at the pool and the beach. They were always taken with a towel or something small early in the morning and that's the way they sat in some cases for hours and not bei [... read more]ng used. This was very inconvenient and inconsiderate of other guests wanting to enjoy a lounge chair. Electrical plugs are limited in the rooms and can be a bit inconvenient with all of today's gadgets. If you use medical devices such as a CPAP, bring an extension cord, about 8 feet long.

Viva Maya by Wyndham: Beautiful Grounds

This resort is pretty cute. I don’t like modern or fancy and so this fit the bill for me in terms of authentic Mexican feel. Very enchanted and cute. Wifi sucked. Our room had the worse connection. No sweet spots at all unless you sat on balcony. Our room was an updated one and we liked it. Be warned there’s no elevator. We didn’t mind the steps but it’s something worth mentioning. The staff is lovely so sweet and friendly. Which made it a pleasant stay. Be warned there’s no bottled water in the [... read more] room. They have a pitcher where you take to the filtered water station out the room. At first I was quite bothered by this but after purchased bottled water we just filled the bottles. The food oh the food. It was lacking. If food is a big deal then this isn’t your resort. Miramare by far best restaurant followed by Mexican restaurant which was quite lovely as well. Buffet sucked. If you’re into bacon there wasn’t as they were always out. Snack bar was fun. Lots of variety for a snack bar. Again, food isn’t their thing but for me everything else made that not matter for me. Beach was beautiful. The seaweed was an issue but not their fault they did their best to clear it up. Pool was fun if you found a spot. I think this resort was quaint and fun and aside from the food which I didn’t really care too much yes I would absolutely good back

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Beautiful @

The Resort itself was breathtaking! Our room was perfect! Rm # 5024. Unfortunately there wasn't much of a beach area for walking, but the walk to the Marina and all it's attractions made up for it. First time at a resort where the food at the buffet was the same pretty much each day. Thankfully all was very tasty. Did notice however that it was more centered to family's than adult couples. Note: the Lobby Bar should really have more live entertainment as that's the only place to go afterwar [... read more]ds when everything is closed to mingle with people. Plus, bartenders at the lobby bar definitely have an attitude when it comes to the last half hour of closing. That was what we did not appreciate. Did not like the " lights out" feeling after 11:00pm. Not everyone wants to do the Disco.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Absolutely amazing resort

This hotel is unbelievable, me and my husband just got back and are already talking about booking again. The staff are so friendly and accommodating but we want to.send a special thank you out to our butler's Stef and Luis who went above and beyond for us. Our swimup bartender Luis who knew we needed another drink before we even asked and our sweet inside waitress Ava who always made us feel so special and put a huge smile on our face. Oh and we can't forget Marco Polo our favorite entertainmen [... read more]t guy. The rooms are so beautiful and clean, the whole property was so beautiful and easy to get around. We absolutely lived the fact that the beach was right next to the pools. Oh and the food was phenomenal, I can not say enough to praise this resort. If you are thinking about going do it, you will not be disappointed. If you like a resort that has an upbeat atmosphere. Or if you're looking for a quiet spot, this resort has it all.

Riu Dunamar: Vacation Review

We recently traveled with Sunwing and had a wonderful vacation overall. The resort itself was beautiful, well maintained, and clearly cared for. The maid service was excellent—rooms were consistently clean, and the lobby and common areas were spotless throughout our stay. The buffet servers and wait staff truly stood out. They were friendly, attentive, and provided great service everywhere—even on the beach. The food offered plenty of variety and was consistently enjoyable, to the point that w [... read more]e didn’t feel the need to book any à la carte restaurants. We also noticed how hard the maintenance team and gardeners worked daily to keep the property looking its best—it did not go unnoticed. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient, and the airport transfer service was smooth and well organized. The beach was beautiful, even though we experienced red flag conditions most of the week. A special mention to the Nexus reps, who were very helpful and provided great recommendations throughout our stay. That said, one concern worth noting: during our stay, we had an unfortunate interaction with a front desk manager who was extremely rude and displayed what felt like intimidating and unprofessional behaviour. This left us feeling uneasy and somewhat unwelcome, which was disappointing given how positive the rest of our experience was. Overall, we truly enjoyed our vacation and would return, but we hope management addresses guest service consistency at the front desk level.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Oceans coral and turquesa

This is a lovely resort. We upgraded to the privilege and the food was outstanding. We loved our accommodations which were so quiet. We have now been here 4x and recommend it. The only downside was there was not much effort to clear the sargassum therefore it was over two feet high and fermenting.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Unfortunately we won't be coming back

The amenities inntue resort are great. The staff from the activities in the pool are friendly and welcoming. Coffee staff and bar staff are not friendly. Food was ok. Pork and chicken everyday for dinner no fish, salmon barely beef. If you dont have an upgrade to pyramid doesn't seem like they care too much about you. I had money stolen from my room. 4 bills of 50 dollars (second day of my stay) I reported to management, security but they only feed back I hear is, we are looking into it. [... read more] To he honest I dont think they cared.
