Ocean El Faro: Amazing resort

We were there April 1st to the 8th/25. We had no complaints. Hotel was beautiful, good drinks, good food, good entertainment. I would definitely would return. The weather was perfect. Staff and people were great

Ocean El Faro: Very good resort

Rooms were great and kept well. Resort is massive and lots of walking which we loved. Lazy River and kids pool looked good. We were on the el Beso side for adults and it was quiet. Reservations were easy to get if you woke up and used app at 8am each day which we did. Italian , Steak and Tappenaki were great. Mikes coffee shop was great but lobby bar equally great with lattes and espressos and no line up. Tennis academy was very good for private lessons.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Beautiful Resort

The hotel is very beautiful.The main lobby is very nice.The ground is well kept. Pools are nice and big.Our room was very nice and clean every day.The beach is rocky but there's a laguna next to the hotel and have a clear water and nice sand. Food in the restaurants are good but the menu could improve.The blue moon restaurant has to improve a lot. Overall the resort is 4 star and I will visit again.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: The good and the bad

First the bad, the beach is just awful for swimming, not at all for children, large rocks everywhere, my 7 year old grandchild cut her foot, easy to stub toes too. We asked for a wake up call on 2 different occasions, the first time they called twenty minutes late the second time they did not call at all. Now the good, I thought the food was excellent at every restaurant we went to, the buffet could get crowded in the morning but it had so many choices of really tasty food. All and all a nice place to have a holiday unless you are strictly a beach person.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Excellent Resort

This has become our favourite resort. The quality, staff, food, drinks, rooms and service were top notch. It was an excellent design and a beautiful beach. No matter the weather, the water was always calm and wonderful to swim in.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Needs some work

Resort grounds are lovely,beach and pool area fantastic. But like most resorts, loungers taken up by towels by 8am. Buildings need some maintenance and our room had an extremely noisy air conditioner that switched on and off. Asked for ground floor because of bad knees but got 2nd floor so not happy with that.Staff were very helpful and kind. Didn't like to see so many hungry feral cats around either. Ocean Blue and Sand: Great Family Resort

Just returned from 1 week at Ocean Blue and Sand and we enjoyed our vacation. The resort was very clean and the landscaping was very well kept. The beach was a bit smaller than some others in the area, but it was kept nicely cleaned up daily. You can walk almost endlessly in either direction along the beach. T [... read more]he room was very clean and quite spacious. Daily cleaning was thoroughly done and the fridge was usually kept well stocked. The wristbands here are also your door key which saves searching all the time for misplaced key cards. Our butler Thomas was very pleasant and helpful. We were celebrating our anniversary during our stay and Thomas went out of his way to surprise us with a romantic decorated room to come back to after our anniversary dinner! Very much appreciated! He booked all our restaurants on day 1 and we never had to worry about that again. We especially enjoyed the Japanese Sensai restaurant, the Bodegon Steak restaurant and the Blue Moon French restaurant. The Italian Restaurant was a big disappointment though with mediocre food and very poor service. We had access to the Villa Marina for breakfast which is served a la carte, but after giving it a try we preferred to go to the buffet for breakfast where there was a larger selection of options, less busy, and the food was hotter to eat. Don't miss coffee at Mike's Coffee Shop...great coffee and snacks are available here. We had read from previous reviews that beach and pool seats were "reserved" by guests at very early morning hours so we were prepared for this. It is a frustrating situation that is unfortunately the norm at most resorts these days. It would be nice if there was a way resorts could get on top of this somehow. We did find there was less drink service at the beach and pool than other resorts we have stayed at, the lunch dining at Villa Marina was very chaotic with too many guests for the staff available leading to slow table turnover and slow water rounds, and the Italian restaurant had poor service thus the 3* rating for service (although there was some very pleasant service from other staff) Overall the resort is a solid 4*

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: worth passing

I stayed at the Ocean El Faro Adults Only from March 24th to 31st. While the resort itself is quite nice, with more than ample pool space and about 10 restaurants, I was disappointed with some things. The condition of the shower was poor... cement was bubbling and peeling and unattractive. The toilet area was ok, just not very appealing. Maid service was inconsistent regarding what time they would come. Some days around 9:00 AM, some days around 11:00. On the day that I had placed my sign on  [... read more]the door at 9:30 to make up the room, she did not come until 2:00 PM. As well, the coffee station in the room was usually neglected. After I had used the only coffee-mate and only stir-stick in the room, they were never refilled. In fact, on my last morning there, I did not even have coffee available. There was also a shortage of facecloths. On the day I arrived, there were none. Three days later, I was given 2. The next day, the maid took one and did not replace it. Same thing the next day. There was not a clock in the room, nor was there an iron and ironing board, which were listed as included on the resort's website. I often found service in the El Mercado buffet lacking. When you entered, a server would usually come to your table to provide water and take your drink order. One day, I sat in a highly visible area for 10 minutes without any service. Finally, a waiter was approaching with a water pitcher but decided instead to stop at the table in front of me, where 2 women were enjoying their meal, already fully supplied with water and drinks. I'll never be back...

Ocean Maya Royale: Great resort!

We travelled to this resort March 16-23. Check in with Privilege was wonderful. Our room in the Privilege room was beautiful. We had a butler who looked after all of our dinner reservations. The food was very good. We had our own private beach and restaurant which was very convenient and quiet. The resort is small compared to other properties, so great for getting from place to place. There are steps leading up to the lobby, but there is a golf cart, if needed. All the employees were wonderf [... read more]ul and helpful with any questions or concerns. The only glitch was the private transportation booked to and from the hotel and the 2 hour delay flying home. All was resolved. It was a very relaxing week.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing Resort

We booked a pool view with Trip Central unfortunately we did not get what you promised the first night. That set the stage for a very negative start, however once we had that resolved it was a very nice stay.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Not enough chairs and umbrellas !!

Not enough umbrellas and chairs. People were fighting over them. Security had to be called to assist. Folks were stealing other people’s towels and throwing their beach bags off their chairs and claiming them as their own.

This was our first time in Punta Cana and did a lot of research to choose the hotel. All my research was worth it because ocean blue and sand was amazing. The grounds, the lobby, the pool area, the beach, our room, the restaurants, the bars, were all better than we expected. We opted for the privilege upgrade, so our experience was based on that, Our building was right by the ocean and pool, which meant it was about a 10 minute walk to the restaurants and lobby. There were carts that drove arou [... read more]nd constantly if you didn’t want to walk. The grounds were meticulously kept and Pinky the flamingo was always a treat to see. Everything was very clean. We had fun in the bowling alley and games room. My son was thrilled that he could watch March madness in the sports bar. The only thing that was not good at all was the casino. The slots were about 30 years old. there was a blackjack table and a roulette table. Although it appeared to be above board, nobody ever won at blackjack.(suspicious). There was no cash out ticket so you couldn’t change machines.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Decent overall.

Pros: - small size, good for kids -comfortable beds (renovated room in building 9) -no one got sick - one of the pools gradually gets deeper (like on a beach) which is great for kiddos Cons: - cleanliness lacking (ants in rooms and lots of mosquitoes in room) - food (it didn’t make us sick but it wasn’t enjoyable) - pools were dirty (as opposed to the oceans in punta cana which were cleaned every day - slushy drinks were disgusting

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Great Resort

This is a huge resort with many different amenities that you can enjoy. We were at this resort 5 years ago and the resort has changed immensely on the adults only side. It's very busy and lots of activities. You have to get up at 6am to get a chair. We had a hard time exchanging towels on a daily basis, either they weren't open or ran out of clean towels. Reservation are needed for 3 restaurants and the reservations need to be done through an app. The Blue Lagoon & Steakhouse were good. We didn't do Mexican but there was always a big line up. The piano bar in the main lobby Ocean El Faro was amazing. The resort has so many things to offer that you wont be disappointed.

Loved our time there with our 10 months old, despite some minor disappointments. Would still go back for the value. Was nice to be able to walk around with the stroller for nap time. Nice staff in general. Buffet had very good food consistently. Ocean Riviera Paradise: Beautiful Vacation

We truly enjoyed our stay at ORP. The grounds are stunning, and the wildlife here is a must see! We did not book any Al la carts due to the fact the line by 830 am was so long, it just wasn’t feasible with children. You have to wait in a line to book your meals in person. That being said, we ate all but one of our meals at the buffet and it was FANTASTIC. Tons of selection. We also ate at Route 66, and found the bbq was just as good as what we would find at home. We were greeted upon check in by a staff member who welcomed us to the resort and we were under the impression he was just showing us around and giving us details, turns out he wanted us to meet him for the time Share meeting the next morning. When we didn’t show up, he no longer would look in our direction or speak. Our room was beautiful, with 2 double beds and a pull out couch. Large jacuzzi tub with a stand up shower. The negatives with our room was that our Air Conditioning system did not seem to work, we called to let staff know twice and they said it was fixed but never cooled down our room. In the evenings we would come back from dinner and it would be cooler in the hallway than our room. The door in our room would not lock from the inside with the deadbolt, again we called twice but it was never fixed. Over all these were minor complaints, as we still fully enjoyed our vacation. Lots of fun for the kids - water park is perfect for ages 9 and under.

Ocean Coral Spring: Beautiful resort!

This resort was absolutely beautiful! Great staff, food, waterpark was so great! It was super clean! The room we were in was super nice and had a joining room which was perfect! I would definitely go back here! The beach is abit rocky but still nice!

The hotel was very good. Food was quite good except for the Italian restaurant. The rooms were clean and the air conditioner worked well. The beach is not great. The pool is big and has a lot of chairs but you need to get up very, very early to reserve your spot.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Great Resort

Food very good and diversified. Sandy beach with coral in a corner of the swimming area to see some fish. Pools and premises clean. Billiard and ping pong in good shape. Tennis courts not usable. Great coffee shop. Bring your mosquito repellent. Staff professional. Bottled water readily available. More umbrellas at the beach would be better.

Ocean Eden Bay: Beautiful Resort with One Drawback

I had a fantastic stay at Ocean Eden Bay. The resort’s modern and clean rooms, well maintained grounds, and friendly staff made for a wonderful experience. Plus, the weather was perfect! The food was excellent, and as someone with celiac disease, I really appreciated the gluten-free options available at every restaurant, including the buffet. Unlike other large resorts where getting to the beach or a restaurant can take ages, everything here was within a quick 6-7 minute walk, which was a huge plus. The lazy river was also a fun activity, especially in the late afternoon when it was mostly adults. However, my biggest complaint was the shortage of pool and beach chairs. Since I was on vacation, it would have been nice to sleep in until 8:30 or 9 a.m., but by then, every chair was already taken. I spoke with a woman who said she went to the beach at 5:45 a.m., only to find that every chair had been "reserved" with towels. At the pool, a group of five women had taken ten chairs. They offered us one and proceeded to tell us they were saving the chairs for their husbands—who were off golfing for the entire day. This made it nearly impossible to fully relax, as we were constantly on the lookout for available chairs. Even when we did find one, I worried that our belongings might be moved while we were in the water. The resort truly needs to address this issue, as many guests were frustrated by it. Unfortunately, this would be the only reason I might hesitate to return. Otherwise, everything else was absolutely lovely!
