Sandals Grenada: Great diving

The diving is some of the best we have done and the dive team is phenomenal, especially divemasters Kimshon and Gary who went above and beyond to make the dive trips memorable. They make every effort to take you to the sites you want to see and the optional special dives that cost a bit extra are completely worth the money. The food at the resort is great and the resort is nice in that it does not feel crowded and there are no peddlers on the beach. The things they could improve on is that th [... read more]ey push guests too much to book your next vacation while you are there and the sales pitch gets annoying while you are on your actual vacation. One guy approached me 2 times in 2 days with the exact same sales pitch just because I was sitting in the open area to the point where I had to tell him we had met, he already gave me the sales pitch the day before and I just wanted to enjoy my vacation. They also do this excessively during the Sandals Select welcome back dinner to the point of it losing its enjoyment of feeling like a special dinner for returning guests. If they could improve on this, they would be fantastic. We went for the diving and this exceeded our expectations so we had an absolutely fantastic time and the food is much higher quality than other Sandals Resorts we have visited. One other thing they need to stop though is fogging for bugs...they do it 2 times a day....I understand the worry for the Zika virus but this seems harmful to the ecosystem and potentially dangerous to guests, I would rather live with the flies.

Sandals South Coast: Absolutely Loved it!

My Husband and I booked our honeymoon last minute and weren't disappointed. It was our first time at a Sandals resort. We were impressed by the room, restaurants and staff. It was a wonderful time. We were sad to leave.

Sandals Caribbean Cay: Just what the doctor ordered!!

Sandals Royal Caribbean is a very well maintained small resort in MoBay! We loved that it was only 5 minutes from the airport and that we could also go to Sandals Montego Bay, where they have some great restaurants (and real rum and raisin ice cream at Cafe de Paris). The food at Sandals RC was excellent, the staff was very helpful and friendly and the drinks were plentiful! Sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, beach volleyball. I would highly recommend renting a Cabana for an after [... read more]noon! It comes with a concierge and a nice cooler full of drinks. My wife claims it was the best nap she has ever had! The beach is very well maintained, but is on the smaller side. The main beach and pool area was very lively, but there are two smaller beaches that were very quiet, along with a quiet pool/hot tub area. Sandals might be a little more expensive than going to Cuba or DR, but it is well worth it!!

Sandals Halcyon Beach: Very dissapointing resort

Expected so much more from a Sandals , would never recommend . Two very bad restaurants , one OK , one quite good . Entertainment , pathetic , performed in a doorway . Quite a construction sight , did the workers have to start so early ?

Sandals Grande Antigua: Very good

The island and the resort was beautiful, not to mention the beaches. The staff was really wonderful and always had a smile on for everyone. We were not told about the butler service which we may have used. As a result we found that I had to wake up every morning at 6am so that I can go to the beach and safe a chair in the shade. The butlers were usually out before then saving the best spots at the beach and pool for their guests. We were always made to feel less than because we didn't have  [... read more]butler service. The vendors on the beach after the first day got very annoying. They were coming by and interrupting us every 5 mins. They didn't care if we were talking or sleeping, they still interrupted us. The night time entertainment was really bad. After 8;30pm there was nothing to do and the entertainers were not very good. We did love the food and drinks at the resort.

Sandals Grande St Lucian: Honeymoon of our Dreams

We booked the Grande St Lucian based largely off of positive feedback here, as well as positive notes on a similarly unbiased honeymoon aggregator website. Something I had experienced in the past with all-inclusive resorts (even luxury ones) was a feeling of being something akin to cattle being herded around. After spending a week at the Grande, I can unequivocally say it is a cut above, and deserves to be held among the best all-inclusive resorts one can find. Food - 7 separate a-la-cart [... read more]e dining options, all of which boasting exceptional food and a unique ambiance. I noted a number of guests we spoke with were reticent to try the indian (Bombay) and sushi (soy) restaurants - however I chalk it up to lack of willingness to try new things. My highlight would have been Gordon's, or the korean bbq restaurant. Be sure to book your dinner options immediately upon arriving to avoid missing out. Breakfast options are what you would expect, a nice omelet station among other options. Lunch consists of a buffet which changes daily, a bbq restaurant, a jerk meat station and pizza parlour. All were very well done. A building containing 3 of the new restaurants (indian, sushi and korean bbq) was completed approximately 14 months prior to our stay, and it is clear that it has changed the dynamic of the resort for the better. Beach - Very calm waters, and wide variety of non-motorized water sport options. One minor detractor to the beachfront was the ever-present upsell to purchase the use of a sheltered cabana with butler service. I would have preferred Sandals eschew this cash-grab and provide more shaded areas. This is not to say there was any lack of chairs available, I just feel this detracted from the overall beach experience. Hotel amenities - Our room was beautiful, and maison staff were very attentive in turning down the beds and providing anything we required. Happy to leave a tip at weeks' end. Based on speaking with others, I do not think there is any class of room to avoid. Go with what your budget allows, and know that even the furthest room from the beach is no more than a 1 minute walk to the water. The gym was also a fantastic bonus - most resort gyms are abysmal, however we were able to work out each morning with a variety of free weights and machines. Staff - A highlight of our time would be interacting with staff. The local St Lucian staff were exceptionally friendly and genuinely happy to be working there. We submitted positive reviews on more than one bartender and restaurant server, and could go on about it here - but have not had a more positive experience in my travels. Best photographer we rant into at the resort was Oliver; a very skilled man with the Canon EOS and took the best shots of the week. One interesting point of note - multiple staff members expressed their pleasure in the changes made to the resort recently. They said that greater emphasis has been placed on taking care of the staff, and bringing in local people as entertainers. Good on Sandals for supporting local culture! Excursions - We booked the JJ snorkeling/volcano mudpit excursion and were happy to do so. From what we heard from people we met, the other excursions were O.K., however not a must-try. Our group was very boisterous, and we made fast-friends. Watch out for the rum concoction they throw at you on the return trip, some people had an early night following the snorkeling trip. Overall, our experience was positive, and couldn't have hoped for more out of our trip. If you are on the fence from a budget perspective, I would say the additional money spent is well worth it considering the food and effort put into entertainment and attention to detail. Room Tip: Unless you are going for club-level rooms, there is no real reason to spend more on a room.

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Amazing Resort & Expierience

This was our first time visiting a Sandals, and it will surely be difficult to find a comparable vacation place! From check in to check out, were were treated with the best service and it was worth every penny! Already planning our next stay at their new Barbados location.

Sandals Grande Antigua: Have to have the right room for your needs

review of the beachfront rondelle with butler services The rooms are small made up of two halves of a circular room, 1 half is the bed and the other half it the bathroom. The toilet is separated from the rest of the bathroom, the bath itself is comprised of the bath, a rain shower and a hand held spray bar. The butler service was 2/3 good. You have 3 butlers for the week ( shifts generally until 3 pm and then then next shift until 10 pm. You are given a phone to call the butler whenever you want ( the recharger is in the room ask how to turn on the phone afterwards) I had breakfast delivered every morning at around 7:30 am even though a pretty good buffet was approx 150 steps away. The room service as much as the tried could not get me my order correct. forgetting the salt and pepper was a familiar issue. the food was ok The butler service also reserves your beach chairs in the morning and place a cooler at the table with what you want (beer, drinks, water, wine) and will bring appetizers to you when requested and sometimes on their own. Tips should be given at the end of the week, get 3 envelopes from the check in desk and pay them the last day. generally 100-150 per butler for the week but it is your choice how much to give The restaurants were good not great except for MARIOS, where the buffet appetizers choice was pretty good. dress code for all restaurants is resort casual, so shorts are acceptable except for 1 place where long pants were needed (but I did see people arrive in shorts and were allowed in) There are two hidden gems Cafe de Paris provides a good selection of pastries and coffee, and ice cream milkshakes and crepes if you want and on Friday evening there was a Chocolate taster which was quite good it takes about 10 minutes to walk from 1 end of the location to the other end As to activities, do not purchase the catamaran snorkeling adventure, the place gives you 3 one hour snorkeling sessions daily and a 6 hour island boat tour with a 30 minute snorkeling session (they provide the equipment) It is a public beach so be prepared for the locals to try and sell you anything and everything , from beach wraps to an aloe plant My wife swears that the massages were great at the spa

Sandals Caribbean Cay: Great service and location

Loved the whole trip, great service, comfortable air conditioned room, epic bathtub, steps from the pool, nightly entertainment - steel drum band was awesome! Chico the entertainment manager was great, Shawayne and the rest of the food staff as well. Enjoyed all the restaurants, the included Catamaran tour. Everything is close together so you don't have to walk far to get to your restaurant or beach location. Close to the airport so take note if plane noises bother you. Beach is a little short s [... read more]o don't expect long walks on the beach :) Take the Negril tour for that. The private island was nice too, loved the bamboo jerk shack. Already planning the return trip!

Sandals Grande Antigua: Dissapointing Guest Service

I wish they allow tipping at this resort, then the servers would make extra and act more pleasant. For a Sandals - Antigua probably ranks the worst service in all we have visited. This goes for front desk staff, bar tenders, beach and pool service. The evening restaurant service was actually good.

Sandals Barbados: Paradise but..........

Sandals Grenada: Couldn't have been more perfect.

This hotel was incredible, from start to finish! The food was delicious, the views were calming, the beach was quiet, the staff and servers were outrageously kind and genuine, the rooms were cleaned constantly, and the weather was the perfect, dry heat we all hope for! My husband and I had the most incredible honeymoon at Sandals Grenada, and are so thankful to have visited this location to celebrate such a special time in our lives.

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Another great group trip with Kim Hartlen to a Sandals resort

We recently arrived home from a great 10 day vacation at Sandals Ochi.. It’s a long trip from the airport to the resort, on most days 1 ½ hours, but the day we arrived it was a 3 hour trip because of the annual kite festival, which tied up traffic. The resort itself was very nice, however seemed “cut up” because of 2 distinct parts – below the main road near the ocean and above the main road. It was hard to walk around the resort much because it is very hilly and the roads and path [... read more]s do not connect well for a long walk. The food was excellent, overall the best of any of the 7 different Sandals we have stayed at over the last 7 years. The main pool at the upper level was great and we spent a lot of our time there, but did spend some time at the “quiet pool” on the upper level as well as at the beach. We found the playmakers fun and full of energy. Service at the pool bars was good. We always wonder about the thoroughness of cleaning of the drink glasses at the pool bars, maybe more care could be taken there, but we have seen that at all the resorts -- possibly one of few weaker points of Sandals. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, overall the best staff of any of the Sandals we have stayed at. We have to mention our room attendant, Sashana Campbell, who kept our room very clean all 10 days we were there. She was definitely the best room attendant we have seen at Sandals. She was very friendly and continually surprised us with her “towel animal creations” each day. Restaurants -- for evening meals -- we enjoyed all evening meals and ate at all restaurants except for The Southern Table. Our 2 favourites were the French, Le Gourmand, and Italian, Valentinos, restaurants. We ate at both twice and had fabulous meals with great service every time. We had Jenthrow for a waiter 3 times (both times at the Italian restaurant and for breakfast at the French) and he was excellent and went over and above to make sure everything was perfect for us. The sushi at Soy was excellent and the meal at Kimonos was very good – but the “chef show” there was short and just average. The only meal we had that wasn’t up to par was at Kellys and it was because they had run out of some of the ingredients, which we only found out about when the meal came. We had ordered the penne with peas and mushrooms and a side order of mixed vegetables. The meal consisted of just penne – as they had run out of peas, mushrooms, and mix veg, quite disappointing as we had heard such great reviews from others in our group. Tip – eat early in the evening there to ensure they have all the ingredients for the meals. Lunch – The buffet at Sky Vista was very good, the buffet at The Southern Table didn’t seem as good. The pizza was good at Bella Napoli, as was lunch at The Mariner, and The Great House Café. Breakfast – Mostly we ate at The Southern Table for breakfast. The omelets there were excellent as were the smoothies. You have to ask for a smoothie but they will gladly get it for you. The buffet breakfast at Sky Vista was also excellent. A pleasant surprise was the meal and service at the French restaurant for breakfast. Our experience at other Sandals has been that at the a la carte breakfast restaurants the service is very slow and the meals inconsistent. However we ate at Le Gourmand three times for breakfast and the service was good and the food excellent. Other waitresses / waiters we found exceptionally good and friendly were Meldon and Melissa at the French, Kimoy at Southern Table and Manor, and Massian the maitre’d. Royan from the loyalty desk was always very friendly and helpful and we seemed to run into him every day. Evening entertainment was very good on most nights; we especially enjoyed the steel band and the staff talent show. The Rabbit Hole was fun and worth a visit at least once or twice. We went on a catamaran cruise with “Island Routes” which was very enjoyable and well organized. Definitely worth checking out. The gardens didn’t seem to be as colourful as some of the other resorts, but there were plenty of trees and shrubs. Maintenance – we had a few minor problems which were fixed up quickly by maintenance, however a few in our group had more issues which were not fixed as quickly. Concierge service was inconsistent with 2 calls one day for a request resulting in nothing happening. Also we didn’t have any white wine for 2 days and had to call concierge twice in order to get this fixed. A couple of suggestions:  Garbage cans around the resort were very hard to find, a few more would be nice.  It was very hard to walk down to the main road as there were no sidewalks once on the resort once you got closer to the road. A good sidewalk plus a pedway going over the main road would make the 2 sides seem joined together more, and be a nice walk to get a little exercise. (the shuttle does travel between the 2 sides every 10 minutes and is easy to catch). Overall we really enjoyed the resort and would rate it in the top three of the 7 Sandals resorts we have been to.

Sandals Grande Antigua: Great resort

The resort is beautiful and well maintained. It is a very big resort with an older section called the Caribbean and the newer section called the Mediterranean. We were in the Caribbean section Food was great. Restaurants are spread out across the resort. Lots of variety. Staff all very friendly and polite. If you are looking for organized activities like pool or beach volleyball, probably best to hang around the very large Mediterranean pool to find the event coordinators. Good size beach,  [... read more]public, not too busy. Lots of shade umbrellas but you need to get down to the beach early (like 7 or 7:30am). Sea is lovely! We went in April so a bit off season. 20 minutes from Airport.

Sandals Barbados: Disappointed with construction!

The food at Sandals, Barbados was very good. The room was okay but not as grand as I expected or was led to believe by the advertising. The noise level was high with an ocean view room which, unfortunately overlooked the pool. My main disappointment was the construction noise! I was not informed at any time prior to booking by Tripcentral that there was ongoing construction. There was constant hammering and drilling all day, for seven days. It was not until I received my itinerary that [... read more] in small print I read there was construction. By then it was too late to cancel. Had I known prior I would not have booked my vacation at Sandals, Barbados. I think it is very unfair of Tripcentral not to inform me of this ahead of time. Not sure I will book through Tripcentral again.

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Sandals Failed in their Promise of a Luxury Included Vacation

The resort is very old and dated, our pool was dirty and the filters were clogged with leaves. There was no relaxation due to the noise from the traffic and maintenance workers. We had money stolen.

We stayed over on the opposite side of the resort from the beach club side and was amazed at how great all staff where on this resort,always in a great mood and upbeat,food was excellent and drinks great.We where in a butler unit with 3 other rooms and your own small pool outside our deck, the other couples in the same complex as ours where with our group so worked out great for us as we all hung out around the pool and on our deck.Rooms in this area are idue for some freshening up,but where al [... read more]ways clean and exceptable.bed was extremely comfortable.Always lots of beer and drinks in the room and snacks,our butlers did an awesome job with looking after all and we our not the type that where constantly calling on them to get things,This side of resort is built on a bit of a hill so there is a bit of walking up and down ,so can be a bit of a pain if you don't like hills,but there are tons of little shuttles and golf cart running aroung that will pick you up if you wait.On the beach side there are 3 small beaches,I you like big beaches and walking them there is none of this here but there was always lots of chairs and staff around to serve you if you need anything,the beach side was a lot busier than the villa side. Over all this is a beautiful resort with excellent staff, a bit on the bigger side than I like but we had an awesome time with our group from the Kim Hartlen Trip Central escorted trip.

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Feels like home

We have been to this resort 8 times. The service and the food are first rate. Lots to see lots to do or places for quite if that is your thing. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Beach is great but could use a few more shaded spots. Staff are helpful and upbeat.

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Good resort great food nice pools great transportation system

Grounds were very nice,public areas were very well laid out easy to use,dining was to Sandals standards.We stayed on the road side of the resort would like to see more transportation for guest requesting rides up the hill to their rooms.
