Lovely Resort

Great resort staff who clearly work very hard and love what they do, but there are a lot of pushy sales reps especially waiting for your outside of the resturaunts and on the beach. Not a resort for anyone with mobility issues as there are A LOT of stairs but there are shuttles to take you around if need be. Beautiful entertainment nightly and the rooms are stunning.

Pretty good resort

We stayed at the confresi palm Feb 9th 2018, in a standard room. The room itself was a little dated but not to bad. The main pool is great and there are several pools to choose from across the very large resort. Buffet Food was good and changes up slightly day to day. The A La Cart restaraunts were good as well, we went to the Italian, Chinese, and Mexican. I wish we tried the Brazilian as it smelled great from outside. Vacation from hell

this is my second review on the cofresi palm beach resort and spa when are air transat and trip central going to except any liability for travellers whose vacation end up be vacation from hell, and stop promoting this place as a 4 and half star resort when l wouldn't even give them a 1 star rating the photos and reviews on this place are all misleading they show you all the great emedities you would get but the only thing they leave out is if you don't sign up for the v.i.p.package these pics t [... read more]hat they show you, online in there brochures are all a scam to promote this place from hell. l am still waiting to see if they are going to offer me any kind of refund for the worst vacation that me an my wife ever experienced in our lives if you don't want to end up like me and my wife l would advise you to spread the word around on facebook,tweeter,and all social media avenues to stay away for your own protecting and safety thanks and please pass this on...

Thieves!

In one word this resort is a fraud and a thief! The customer service manager named KATHY is a thief she stole money from our group. They charged us $200 per person to upgrade the room and once we we went there gave us sewage facing rooms. Made us sign a paper that states we are getting a refund and it’s been over a month and no one is responds back. Mind you ours was a group of 15. Overall nice resort

We stayed Jan 23-Feb 6/18, this was our first time in the Dominican, as we normally go to Mexico. The resort is very large with lots of steps, but we knew this when we booked. Its definitely not a place to go if you have limited mobility etc. There are shuttles and golf carts everywhere to take you wherever you wanted to go, but never used them because we like to walk and see everything. Rooms were ok at best. We had quite a few things wrong with our room (toilet seat broken, patio doo [... read more]rs didn't lock, shower head was horrible, most days no hot water, coffee maker broken) But we didn't spend much time in here, so we didn't focus on it a lot. Food was awesome! There was always something different at the Pearl Buffet. We stayed for 2 weeks and very rarely saw the same items twice. The made to order omelettes were delicious, bread was so fresh, hubby loved the pizza, snacks by the beach were great - we have zero complaints about any of the food at all. Most of the staff were amazing, with the exception of the Front desk, they truly didn't seem to care about you, your concerns or your vacation. We learnt quickly to just bypass the front desk completely, because nothing got done anyways. Example - we had our A/C break, went to front desk at 7am before we left for an excursion, came back at 7pm and it was still broken. Called a maintenance guy at 7:30pm, the A/C was fixed by 8pm! We had no water, pop, beer in our fridge, talked to front desk who acted concerned, but by the next day we still had nothing. We saw one of the guys who stocked the fridges and talked to him, he took care of us with a smile! So my suggestion - if you have an issue try and find the person/department and they will solve it quickly for you. But as for the rest of the staff they were truly amazing!! We met so many that were awesome and a few who are now lifelong friends! Wilfredo William @ the Aqua bar is such an amazing guy who is always smiling, whistling, high fiving - he truly loves his job and we definitely will miss him! Victoriano Castillo @ Frost bar is awesome - he always made us feel welcome and would never let our drinks get close to empty...even if we were trying to leave lol. Kelvin Ivan who seemed to float around everywhere is so friendly and awesome, he actually seeked us out on our last day just to give me a hug goodbye! The entertainment guys were awesome and so hilarious - these guys always tried to get everyone up, moving and having fun! Hats off to Chocolate, Monkey & Shu Fly, you guys are truly awesome!!! We enjoyed walking up to the new Kviar casino. The drinks there were absolutely amazing and made with premium alcohol. Normally I'm not picky when it comes to this type of thing, but the difference in pina coladas made with the premixed slushy stuff and the fresh fruit/whipped cream at the casino was literally night and day. I also got to enjoy my mudslides at the casino, as the rest of the resort didn't carry kahula... I definitely recommend checking out the casino for a different atmosphere. The cost of the wifi kind of blew me away....they wanted $30 a day or $70 a week...like really? I don't go on vacation to sit on the internet, but I do require some access to touch base with family etc throughout the 2 weeks. We did figure out that if you walked up to the duty free store by the Tropical there was free wifi, so that was perfect. We don't really have any complaints about the resort. We did find the smell of sewage in the middle of the resort absolutely horrendous. This smell was there day & night and sometimes we could even smell it when sitting on our balcony. *yuck* We also hated the early morning phone calls...I can't even tell you who kept trying to call because I just unplugged the phone. We were on vacation....8am phone calls...really? It was probably to do the tour to get our "welcome gift", but we weren't interested in doing that either. The guys kept saying it would take 20 mins of our time. Our neighbours went on the tour and did the 20 mins, and then they were taken to the VIP building and were told it would be another 2ish hours. They walked out. I'm not wasting 3 hours of my vacation having people trying to pressure me into buying something that won't happen. We just firmly told them no, and they left us alone...but they do wait outside of the Pearl buffet waiting for you to leave like vultures. Overall we had an amazing vacation, and enjoyed our time here for sure. Would we go back to this resort? I couldn't say for sure if we would...the staff that went out of our way to ensure our vacation was awesome would be the only reason we probably would go back.

A Beautiful Resort

I wasn't expecting a resort on such a hill but it made for great pictures. I loved the ocean where we spent most of our time. We enjoyed the food and the staff was very friendly. Although our room was dated, the balcony and king size bed made up for it.

Vacation from hell at the confresi palm beach resort

l would not recommend this place to my worst enemy it was a total nightmare, me and my wife both got very ill and the service in the hotel did not exist we could have died in our room and know one cared if we were dead or alive stay away from this place the only thing that would make this ok would be a full refund because this was not a vacation unless you wanted to feel like you where in prison.. the first day was ok until these vaulters zeroed in on you to get you to by into the v.i.p [... read more] and time share ,we were told that there was wifi in lobby but that didn't exist the front desk could not speak or understand English the food was ok the resort is all hills and stairs everywhere you had to take a shuttle bus everywhere you wanted to go not very friendly for seniors l asked for a Styrofoam container to get some food for my wife sick in bed l was told we will bring you some bread and crackers no food allowed that's when l lost it the front desk supervisor would not give me here name after l cause a seen at the front desk after many confrontation with the staff finally on our second last day there they where trying to help us with our needs a little to late l could go on an on about this place words could not describe what me and my wife think of this place. and the icing on the cake was we were delayed 3 hours longer than we had to cause air transat had to order a smaller plane to get us out of there

Cofresi Palms

Huge place, lots of steps, no good for people with mobility issues, clean, good food, excellent service, closed to the airport, Check in time is slow when all guests arrive at once, lots of pools to choose from, many a la carte restaurants

You get what you pay for

The ground are clean however pools needed to be cleaned more often In regards to the public pools .a lot of Walking the grounds is to massive however very nice staff at the photo booth and vip transit . However the lifestyle staff are to aggressive in trying to sale you the welcome gift. Rooms were nice however my toilet was leaking , took about four days for them to send someone was they for only a week

Cofresi palm beach and spa resort

Overall i would go back to the resort . it was a very nice place to be at . They keeped it very clean all the time . Even the bathroom on the beach was always had someone cleaning it all the time . I am sure happy i upgraded to an oceanview room . The view was amazing . I love the tropical feel of the place .. you felt like you actually away on vacation . It was alway hamburgers , hot dogs and Fries . With our oceanview room we had a vip beach part , bar . Everytime we would go there no beds were avaiable at anytime of the day which was frustrating . just someone bag was on it reserved and who knew when they were actually coming . i know ppl do it but being its a VIP and only a certain amount of us could go there . It should be first come first serve and actually be there with not just a bag on to hold it . The lifestyle vacation was amazing side but with some restaurants on that side for us to go to ala carte . It does make you jealous to how there place was compared to us . very updated and nice places they we cant get to enjoyed because we didnt have the special VIP bracelet one . I would suggest if someone gets a room with an ajoining door rmake sure yours is locked accordingly . We had an issue with the three guys next door open it , we locked it right away but the next day they were drunk and broke it open again literally and came into our room . I wasnt there but my friend was taking a bath . Didnt realize till later that they took our pop and stuff out of our mini bar fridge in the room .They didnt see her but we did go to front desk call our air transit rep and they fixed the doors right away . My safety was an issue after that and the next day they moved us to another oceanview room . That was only the real problem . Had a great time , and would go back again

Beautiful grounds but lots of walking and stairs

The resort is very large. 6 hotels combined lots of walking and stairs. The food was good. The staff in dinner areas are terrible just want to socialize with each other and make you feel like you bugging then when you ask for a napkin etc. They really only cater to the vip people everyone else are shit. Asked 5 times to have someone check the water leak in the bath room, the phone not working.and the tv not working. nothing was done. There are 5 or 6 guys there at each diner entrance what  [... read more]are trying to sell you time share and trick you into going in the carts to view the grounds then take you to the vip tower and leave you there and someone else tries to talk you into buying time share. They even bug you well your eating to go with them cause they get 50 bucks for each person they take there would never go back

Fun, but a little too busy

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Confresi. We opted for a junior suite, which was pretty nice. The resort is one of several on the same vast Lifestyles property. It's a busy place and if that's your thing then this is the place for you. The food was pretty good (many restaurants to choose from), the grounds and pools were very well kept. Not the best beach as it's small and gets deep quick (plus, the water is choppy with undertow). We spent most of our time laying around one pool or another. The b [... read more]iggest negatives would be the people trying to get you to buy into their timeshare membership and because the place is so vast there is a lot of vehicle traffic (shuttle buses, golf carts, scooters, etc). Otherwise, good value and great fun.

HORRIBLE RESORT

What a horrible vacation it was. The reception staff, manager housekeeping disgusting behaviour. They acted as if we are staying for free. Don’t ruin your mods and vacation going to this horrible resort. Waste of money these people need to go and learn manners and hospitality.

Amazing vacation

Amazing vacation vip everything we did see a big huge spider at serenety beach so be careful also a lot of bugs of bugs in the rooms but overall amazing resort. They will try to make your tour the resort so that you can become a lifestyle member and so that you have access to the whole resort so just bring a bit of money if that sounds like something you'd want to do.The pina colada are the best also at the lifestyle center and there's free WiFi thete so just a heads up!

Cofresi Palm Beach Resort and Spa

We had an amazing stay. We were not VIP but that didn't matter. The pools were clean and there were a lot of them so we never got bored. The beach was okay, I'm used to staying at resorts where the beaches are cleaned daily but still it's a beach with sand and salt water! The food was good, got bored of the buffet by day 4 but that's to be expected. There were A LOT of stairs and the rooms were outdated but it was still a great time. Staff were great! Friendly and waited on you everywhere

Good for the price, good for young people.

We got a deal...on our honeymoon. The reviews other people wrote were true: there is a canal that runs from the lobby to the beach and smells horrible most of the time. Suggestion to the resort is to cover it so that no one has to smell sewage. Yes, lots of hills and everyone is zipping around on golf carts and buses. So be careful not to get run over. Everyone gets sick from the food/drinks. The highlights were the once-a-week Sunday night VIP dinner where they had brand name alcohol and a pig  [... read more]roast, bands and dancing with a pro DJ pumping tunes. The Thursday night party at The Dome, which also has top shelf drinks and a crazy amount of stuff going on. The beach was small but pretty nice. The staff were very friendly, they gave us an upgrade from a double twin room to a king suite. The casino treats you well and had good drinks, free for all players; and popcorn, nachos. The a-la-carte restaurants were great, especially Trapiche Mexican, and Indochine Chinese. Bellini's Italian restaurant is open for snacks from noon to 6:30PM and is near Royal Suites where almost no one goes to the pool, so it was a hidden gem where we went everyday for late-late lunch. Downsides were: housekeeping doesn't speak much English so it was hard to communicate. Ice disco had lame music and full of teenagers, and the ceiling was really moldy and dripping water the whole time. Don't slip and break a bone. Cofresi area was for lower income people so the rooms reflect it, musky air, bad air conditioning, leaky sink and hot water issues. The minibar is only filled on arrival, so you get 2 beers, 2 pops only. The Cofresi pool bars have low quality no name brand drinks. The restaurant wine is not good either. Us and everyone we talked to got sick from the food/drinks. It was impossible to get change from the lobby bank. We didn't enjoy the show at The Coliseum, lame low quality performers. In conclusion: spend all your time at the richer Tropical side of the resort, go to all the events, maximize your a-la-carte reservations, go to the casino at least once, bring USD and get change from the bartenders. Go to town to have a break from the resort, cabs for the day are $50. Be prepared to be on the toilet for the first couple days. If its really bad, go to the onsite doctor. They give you an injection that makes you better right away. Bring your insurance slip with you. Don't fall prey to the tours of the resort by the staff in the golf carts. Its a sale technique. One person was so sad. They got him drunk and he signed up for 25 years. He couldn't even afford the golf cart which was an extra $7000. One guy spent $43000 and still had to pay $299/week for the villa and $70/day for all inclusive. So, if you have money that you don't need... I would spurge on a different, more expensive resort before coming back. We went to Blue Bay Villa Dorados in April 2017. It was nicer and we didn't get sick. Only 20 mins up the road from Cofresi. I actually prefer Club Amigo in Holguin, Cuba to Cofresi. They had Club Amigo priced at $800 each for 2 weeks in April. We spent $1365 each for 2 weeks in January at Cofresi.

Good value

Grounds: clean, well kept. Rooms: large rooms with beautiful balconeys, comfortable beds, clean, everything well functioning ( AC, washrooms) Dining: the buffet has a good food selection. It would be nice to have more fruit selection. A la carte: we tried the Mexican restaurant and both the salmon and the beef were very tasty. Entertainment: good quality. The welcoming party is highly recommended. The professional dancers are great. Beach: well kept, enough chairs. Pools: enough for eve [... read more]ry taste, quiet or animated. Ocean: for those who like to swim in the Ocean, the waters a bit rough with high waves and strong currents but still an enjoyable experience.

Very nice

Clean, friendly, well staffed resort! Lots of pools to choose from. Nice walk ways around resort. Main buffet eating area is big and bright and very tidy. Food was good but very repetitive! Rooms have nice balconies and seating area. Air conditioning unit in our room was very noisy. Pillows and mattresses not very comfortable at all. Still enjoyed our stay though!

Bad resort

The grounds were decent. The pool and beach was clean. The rooms were horrible the walls and doors were filthy not talking about a little dirt, felt like we were staying in an abandoned shack. We had no hot water for 2 days!!! The beds were sooo old u felt every spring. No entertainment on site. The fridge is stocked with 2 water, pop and beer upon arrival and that's it they only supply water after that and that's only because u can't drink the waterEverything advertised is for members only you  [... read more]can up grade unless u become a member. Never will I go to a lifestyle resort again

Worst resort ever

beach is bad,, seaweed, rocks all over..pools are dirty.. anywhere you have to go,, have to take a bus shuttle.. sometime waited 40 minutes at a time for the shuttle bus.. customer service is the worst. people are rude,, i had a sink leak , water was dripping on floor .. they took 8 hours after 6 ph calls . and came and shut off the water in sink.. i had to use the bath tub to brush teeth and everything.. i asked to change the room.. without checking front desk said , no rooms available.. it [... read more] was a disaster. and food was terrible..
